We checked in 12:30pm after a long flight and the reception had a man on the check-in desk clean room with a huge tv. The breakfast that was included was amazing offering a cooked & continental options We had no issues

• Bas (4/5): - De ligging van het hotel is echt een groot pluspunt: lekker centraal en ideaal om de omgeving te verkennen. Ook de bedden waren prima, waardoor we goed hebben geslapen. De kamer zelf was wat aan de kleine kant en zou hier en daar wat onderhoud kunnen gebruiken. In de badkamer waren enkele tegels beschadigd en de kitvoegen oogden verouderd en de wastafelkraan zat los. Daarnaast bleef de kamer ondanks de airconditioning vrij warm. Een toiletborstel bij de WC zou ook een praktische aanvulling zijn. Wij verbleven inclusief ontbijt. Op de eerste ochtend was het aanbod beperkter dan we hadden verwacht en bleek een ei alleen tegen meerprijs mogelijk. Gelukkig was het ontbijt op de tweede dag een stuk uitgebreider en stond er wel een volledig Engels ontbijt klaar.

• Ange (8/5): Comfortable good value stay - The actual room was very good. It was generous in size, the beds were comfortable. The man on the front desk was grumpy and rude. The shower was a bit weak and there was little provision to hang ones towel. I don't know London very well and was looking for accommodation in Marylebone. The listing for the Sumner Hotel claimed to be in Marylebone and the map I referred to did not seem to contradict this. The hotel is no where near Marylebone!

• Susan (8/5): Charming boutique hotel in a lovely part of the city - This boutique hotel is in a Georgian townhouse and has kept some of its period features and charm, as well as quirks. The room was large by London standards with extra amenities such as robes and we appreciated the generous USB ports and outlets. Location is great with a quiet neighborhood, short walk to the tube, and close to restaurants. The continental breakfast was average with limited options. The room safe was located on the floor of the wardrobe and not accessible unless you climbed into the wardrobe, which was part of the quirkiness.
• Revital (10/5): Highly recommended and we would love to come back - We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The location is excellent and very convenient for getting around the city. The service was courteous and professional throughout our stay, and the reception staff were kind, welcoming, and always available to help. The breakfast was excellent, especially thanks to Jenny, who took care of every detail. On our last day, when we had an early flight, she even prepared sandwiches for us to take on the way truly exceptional service

Had to have two staff members come and try to fix temperature in shower. It was either hot or scalding. Very warm and in need of renovation.

The carpet was filthy. I had taken a pair of bed socks to wear as slippers in the room and they were really dirty after the first evening! Broken tiles in the bathroom and nowhere to hang a towel. • Lynn (8/5): GREAT Location in a Quiet London Neighborhood! - We landed in London well before Check-in. The Sumner Hotel allowed us to store our luggage in an out-of-the-way corner of the "lobby," so we could hit the ground running with our sightseeing. Ali at the Front Desk was very gracious and we enjoyed the Cadbury chocolates there. We appreciated that they could transform our room from a Double to an Executive Twin. We also liked having flannels (washcloths). The Sumner Hotel's location was FANTASTIC! While the size of the room was spacious for London standards, it was a bit tight trying to maneuver around 2 suitcases. It would have been nice to have a 2nd luggage rack. We also had some trouble controlling the temperature in the room. Otherwise, we really have no other complaints.

• Faye (4/5): Spend more on the Luxuries and Better Lighting - Location was excellent Rooms are tired and need updating. We stayed in Rooms - 103 & 104. Curtains and blinds were hanging off the rails in both rooms. Carpets were stained. Carpet on landing into larger room was a major trip hazard as the carpet does not reach the gripper rod making me trip as I walked into my mums room. Floor tiles in both bathrooms are cracked. Bedside lamps not dusted under shades. The shade The furniture is chipped and dated. We paid £40 extra for adjacent rooms as my mum is registered blind. I’ve no idea what extra luxury I was paying for. We did complain but nobody offered a refund to appease the problem. The booking is misleading as it DOES NOT say you have to pay EXTRA for a hot breakfast. Continental breakfast offered is 4 cereals. Special K, Cornflakes, Rice Crispies and Bran flakes. No granola. 1 jam if you only like strawberry. Croissants are pre-packed and not fresh and no offer of gluten free bread. Just cheap white or brown bread. Everything offered showed a cut of costs, rather than spending money to make things more special. After making our complaint, nobody offered a discount or solution to rectify the problems. There are no stair lighting on Floor 1 to help my mum climb 6 steps to our room. It was so dark she had to hold onto me to get to her room. (It’s quite an ordeal settling a nervous blind person on where to walk safely) Quite frankly, it was disgusting and an accident waiting to happen. I say this because on exiting the lift to our floor, the stairs to the ground floor are unlit and immediately to the left where there is no bannister. Had I not been there, mum would have fallen the entire length of the stairs. Do not stay if you have a disability or are registered blind. I would like an apology and a refund for the £40 extra I paid for adjacent rooms. Tip. Update the furnishings. Replace carpets. Put brighter light bulbs in all walkways. Replace cracked bathroom floor tiles. Spend a bit on the small luxuries; fresh pastries, granola etc

It does have a few small drawbacks typical of older buildings, but overall a very pleasant stay. The hallway noise was pretty noticeable, you could hear people walking and talking.

Jenny skötte den lilla lokalen perfekt och var mycket trevlig. Sängarnas täcken är för korta. Internet var utsatt för störningar två av sex dagar.

Will definitely stay here in future. - The location was perfect - very quiet but steps from busy shopping street, train and bus stops nearby. I fell ill unexpectedly on my third night and the hotel allowed me to stay an additional night in the same room. They were so kind and understanding! Cracked tiles in the bathroom and decor a bit run down but very clean.

• Margaret (9/5): London in three days - A fantastic location. Easy check in. Staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, cereals, cheese, cold meats, fruit, orange juice tea/coffee. Room size was good, two single beds moved together to make a double wasn't the most comfortable. Bathroom was basic but the towels were soft! It was a room facing the back of the hotel so no views but no street noise either! TV, air-conditioning fridge along with tea/ coffee making facilities made it a great place to chill after a very busy day touring London. Definitely recommend this great hotel and hopefully get back there in the near future. The bed(s)!

• Emmanuel (7/5): Hôtel pratique et bien placé, mais des efforts à faire pour le rendre plus agréable.. - Emplacement à Marylebone, proche de Marble Arch, hotel pratique et personnel sympathique.. mais.. Ascenseur hors service pour le 2eme étage Réveil à 8h00 du matin par l’équipe de nettoyage qui parle dans les couloirs comme au marché aux poissons et n’hésite ensuite pas à entrer dans votre chambre sans s’annoncer ni frapper.. Salle de bain pratique mais odeur (de moisissures ou de chat..) très difficile. Petit déjeuner très moyen malgré les efforts de la dame qui s’en charge. Très basic..et même pas d’œufs proposés. Dommage.
