Leena (4/5): Poor deco and badly need upgrading in every way - Very poor quality bed, squeeked all the time, spring in the bed have gone, hard to sleep, safe deposit box in the room didn’t work, the staff tried in other rooms, none of them worked, stairs squeaked going up and down, rooms need upgrading with bed, walls carpets ect … good location and nice staff but the owner needs to spend money to make room liveable.

Wing Shuen (2/5): Disappointing Stay~ Dirty Bathroom, misinformation - I called the hotel in advance to confirm if they provided slippers and a hair dryer—both were confirmed over the phone. When I arrived early to check in around 1 PM, I was told the room wasn’t ready, but I could drop off my luggage. I double-checked with the front desk staff again, and she politely reassured me that slippers and a hair dryer would be in the room. When I returned later, my room key card didn’t work. I went back to reception, and instead of assisting, the staff said I cannot put the card near my phone. Once I got into the room, there were no slippers, and to make matters worse, the bathroom was dirty. I called the front desk again, and this time the staff was dismissive, saying they “can’t speak for the morning staff” and insisted that slippers were never provided. He refused to take any team responsibility and said he “doesn’t know anything” about the earlier conversation. They offered to change my room, but the new room was a downgrade from a twin to a single, and there was a used water bottle left behind by the previous guest. Amenities were minimal: only 7ml packs of shampoo and shower gel. No other toiletries were provided. Checkout time is at 10:30 AM, but somehow the room wasn’t ready even by 1:30 PM when I arrived. Would not recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made in both service and cleanliness

Shelly R (10/5): Cute Central London Hotel - It’s a cute, quaint hotel attached to a row of hotels! Our rooms were clean and well proportioned. Nice shower/ bath combo. The front desk people were very kind and friendly. However, at times the front door was locked and it took a bit for them to respond to the buzzer. Lots of small groceries, variety of restaurants, and easy bus/tube stops.

Lee (8/5): Great for Wimbledon - I booked this hotel simply for ease of getting to Wimbledon. 2 minutes from Earl’s Court station, which goes directly to Southfield station ( the stop you actually need for the Wimbledon Queue ). It’s 5-6 minutes walk from there. Nice staff, although they thought I hadn’t already paid and asked for payment.. I showed them I already had, they then apologised. Also there wasn’t a tv remote in the room.. not the end of the world, but with No aircon in full English Summer, I heard another customer complaining about it. I was kinda quite lucky as I had room 202 & the open window blew a reasonable breeze in. That said, it’s a little noisy until around midnight’ish because you can hear the train station with the windows wide open… If you’re British, you’ll understand & be fine.. if you’re not British, then don’t stay in peak Summer if you can’t handle it.. temperature was 33-34 that day btw. I’d stay here again for the tennis anyway.

Luis Fernando (6/5): - The staff was super friendly and helpful, the location was convenient as earls court station is within a 3 min walk and there are a lot of places to eat as well, the room we stayed in was the one with an external toilet, the main issue with this is not the fact that it is external as it was fully disclosed during the booking process, but that the toilet is not next to the room, it makes going to the bathroom a little uncomfortable, specially at night since you have to pass in front of all the other rooms in the floor, the mattress could use a renovation since its springs are worn out and getting a well rest sleep was not possible. I could say it’s a good hotel to just spend the night

Kali (8/5): Great Location and Fits the Bill - This was exactly what I needed, though it would have been nice if I could get the tv to work. It’s small but I didn’t need much and the location was top notch. If you’re looking for something fancy and planning to spend a lot of time in your room it may not be ideal, but it’s safe, clean, and serves its purpose well.

Scott (10/5): - Times are difficult and different in this time of Covid and Dennis, the manager handled things very well. The hotel has such a wonderful location for good ready to eat food (go to the PRAT or Co-Op near by) and ideal for getting on the Underground. My room was upgraded to a cheerful, clean, quiet and bright double. Simple but all I needed. Some of the programs on British TV are superb. At 53 pounds a night it was wonderful. Conditions did not allow for someone to always be at the front desk but by merely ringing the bell out front someone came right to open the door. I had several things that Dennis patiently looked up and printed directions to. The place was mostly vacant which is a shame because every time I return to London I will hope to stay there again.

Alejandro (8/5): - Fuimos una semana decididos a salir de la habitación a las 8 am y no volver hasta las 8pm por lo que el hotel cumplió nuestras expectativas. La habitación es muy pequeña, tanto que apenas podiamos tener la maleta abierta. El armario para la ropa, igual de pequeño con 4 perchas; pero la cama era comodísima y el baño estaba siempre muy limpio y con eso a nosotros, nos bastó. Las paredes no sé de qué estarán hechas, pero se oye todo todo... Nosotros llegábamos K.O y no tuvimos problema con eso, pero lo digo como aviso para quien tenga sueño ligero. Tiene una parada de metro al lado y muchas opciones para comer o cenar y muy variadas. El personal muy amable, nos explicaron todo a la llegada, tienen mapas de la ciudad, del metro y demás y no tuvieron problema en guardar las maletas durante toda la mañana del día que nos íbamos. Yo le daría un 7 de 10.

jim (2/5): Hotel in Kensington - Poor service, standibg at the front desk for 15 minutes while tje check in attendant slept, tried to wake him successfully on my third try, he then had difficulty finding our reservation, handed us our key card wordlessly with out even a directing us where the room was overall poor experience, pay the extra money for a nicer place to stay.
Ed (8/5): June stay - Great location. While elevator inside, there are 6 steps up from sidewalk without a banister. Desk person got us transportation to airport, not a taxi and said price would be about 19 pounds. He meant, 90 apparently. No ice available nor drinks. No breakfast included which seems to have been a recent change.

We came early and the clerk held our baggage until check in time. There is a clerk on duty 24 hours a day so check Nice Hotelin and check out are a breeze.

Wendy (10/5): - We just stayed here from 8/8/17 - 8/12/17. It was in a convenient location with the Earl's Court tube station around the corner and several restaurants and convenience stores within short walking distance. The room had basic amenities, but we didn't mind this since we knew we would spend most of our time out and about. We weren't able to check in early or check out late but they did let us leave our bags at the front desk while we enjoyed more time in London. The front desk always had someone at it and they locked the front door if they had to step away to check on something. We were happy with our stay. If you are looking for a more luxurious hotel with more amenities, I do not recommend this hotel. However, if you are looking for a hotel with the basics and conveniently located to the tube, restaurants, pubs, etc. I definitely recommend it.

Indifference at the front desk vs helpfulness, bed was like sleeping on a very hard futon, no sheets but only a duvet (which was too hot), walls are thin so hearing other guests was constant. As well, because the rooms back on to the underground/subway you clearly hear -- all day and most of the night -- the rumble of the cars on the tracks, as well as the announcements of the train arrivals. No screens on the windows either so opening them meant flying insects and bugs flying into the room. Again, the location was amazing but not a pleasant stay. 3/10

The bathroom was so small one could barely fit inside. We didn't end up staying the time we booked and nothing was done about our complaints. It looks nothing like the photos that have been posted. It is overpriced, the cost per night of this place should be about 1/2 of what it is.
Ian (8/5): Lord Kensington - Hotel is in a good location, near Earls Court station, with Natural History museum, Science museum and V&A are all within 15 minute walk. Room was clean although small though this wasn't a problem for me. Breakfast was welcome- toast, cereal, eggs, ham, cakes and the coffee good with friendly staff.

Verified traveler (6/5): Handy access to London's highlights. - Recovered after an interesting start - the receptionist was stuck in the only lift with two other guests when we arrived to check in and a newcomer just ahead of us was trying to find other staff to alert them to the problem. With the lift out of action for a couple of hours, we had to carry our bags up 4 flights of stairs to get to our room. After that, everything improved and staff were very helpful. Good room rates and the included breakfast was quite good value. Hotel very close handy to tube station.
Debs250266 (4/5): Disappointing.. - Got home yesterday after a one night stay at the hotel. My daughter wasn't feeling great and I phoned before we travelled but I was told we would lose the first night's money if we cancelled so we decided to go anyway. Fair enough! However, we were put in a basement room that was very hot. To get some air we opened the window above the door to find that we were right next to the train station. It was very loud. I went back to reception immediately to be told that we could move rooms the next day. I explained that I had rung to say my daughter wasn't feeling great but it made no difference. We both barely slept at all because of the heat, the trains and then we found we were also next to the kitchen so 5:30 am we were woken up and couldn't get back to sleep. My daughter felt so poorly in the morning that I went to reception and said we needed to go home. However, they said because of their cancellation policy that we would be charged for another night as well - which seemed grossly unfair. But of course being English we just paid without a fuss. I wouldn't go back......
David (2/5): Moved hotel for no reason - I booked the Lord Kensington hotel, but ended up staying in the Oliver Plaza Hotel. No explanation why, just that I was in the other hotel. I think this was totally uneceptable.
Laura (6/5): Just touring... - Great location, very small, easy going staff, great for just spending a few nights and going out and about. Not a luxury or high end property but great for a budget stay at $200 per night during Wimbledon and such a peak travel season. Note you can hear the screech of the train non stop if your window faces the tracks. No air conditioning but bug netting is over the windows and a fan was provided during the summer heat wave. I'd stay again.
Kate (8/5): - The hotel was exactly what we expected it to be really. The room was comfortable and the Breakfast adequate for the room charge. The area is a little noisy however as it's right next to a busy London train station but if you're ok with that then this is a great little hotel.
Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was ok, although with 5 people and 5 luggage bags, it is rather cramped. Bathroom was very small and only one towel per person. No hand towels, no bath mat. Breakfast was adequate. Lots of eating places down the road and close to Earl's Court underground station.

David (10/5): Short stay in Earl's Court - Hotel refurbished since my last visit and looks great. Reception staff very helpful, bedroom ample size for the two of us very clean and comfortable for a weekend break. Breakfast included and was perfectly adequate to set us up for a day wandering round London. Clean, comfortable and pleasant decor, tv, shower etc

Nathan (10/5): Excellent Budget Option in a Great Location - We had a fabulous experience. Good rooms (though one was much larger than the other). Breakfast was great. Staff was accomodating in storing our luggage while we did some sightseeing after checkout. The hotel is very near to the Earl's Court Tube station and in fact overlooks it. Our 4th floor room facing the station had some noise, but it wasn't bad with the windows closed.
Verified traveler (6/5): Close to underground. - The rooms were very small and the hotel is located next to the railway station. Very noisy at night so cannot leave window open and the room has no air conditioning.
tasmania (2/5): over priced ,worse than back packing. - Uncomfortable, beds are filthy , old smelly and need throwing out. When we asked for clean bedding it was like pulling teeth. Noisy area, bathroom was so small for 4 adults it was hopeless. The accommodation was nothing like it advertised, if we hadn't already moved from another hotel that was also nothing like advertised we would never have stayed here. Never stay there it is horrid.
Matt (2/5): Nice location but terrible accommodations - I booked my reservation through hotels.com thinking that I was getting a solid 3 star hotel, however we were thoroughly disappointed. My first irritation came when the clerk stated there was a 3% surcharge for credit card payments. When I told him that my booking stated that it included all fees he pointed to a sign on the wall that stated that all credit card transactions are subject to a 3% surcharge.This is not what I agreed to in my reservation and there is no way that I could have read his sign from over 5,000 miles away! The room itself was very small and smelled strongly of cat urine. The bathroom was extremely small. The beds consisted of ottomans that had mattresses on them. The breakfast consisted of alternating fresh or day old ham & cheese that clearly was left over from the day before. On one occasion we observed the staff pouring in left over food into a container, presumably to be used the following day by other guests. This was one miserable experience for all 5 of us. I encourage everyone to avoid this hotel if at all possible. This is at best a 1 star hotel, not a 3 star. I feel cheated and will tread more carefully if I ever book another reservation through hotels.com. Our stay was for 5 days.

Anne (8/5): Nice area and pleasant staff - We enjoyed our time at the hotel. The area was safe and very near the subway, the staff was accomodating, and the room was cozy.
Rockford (6/5): Met needs, but hard to recommend - Our challenge was 5 adults in one room. Room was just too small for this, but there really aren't any other reasonably priced options. To be clear, it wasn't such a big deal that it impacted our enjoyment of our vacation. We were mostly unconscious when we were in the room. Breakfast was decent with excellent service. "elevator" in Europe means coffin-sized lift. There was no apparent method of controlling the temperature. Exactly one towel per guest - no wash cloths or hand towels, no Kleenex. Check-in wasn't particularly welcoming. Very close to tube (came in handy arriving late at night from Heathrow - directly on Piccadilly line).

Bill (8/5): Convenient to Earls Court underground. - Friendly and helpful staff; excellent breakfast; room small but clean with security safe for valuables; with heavy luggage and taking the underground from Heathrow the elevator at Earls Court station is a godsend.
Bill and Sarah (8/5): Convenient to Underground. - W. five minutes walk from Earles Court underground to the hotel. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. The underground station has an elevator on the Picadilly Line so no stairs to carry heavy luggage up stairs on arrival from Heathrow.
TommyGunn04 (6/5): A reasonable option - As a single traveller who had requested a double bed, I was a little surprised to be given a room with four beds. They were comfortable enough, though not of particularly good quality. It was also at the back of the hotel, and other reviewers are right about the noise from the underground station. Even with ear plugs I found myself waking up occasionally. Added to this the fire alarm went off twice in the middle of the night, which was annoying. There is no air conditioning, so I don't know what it would be like in the hotter summer months. On the other hand, I got a good deal - the room was very cheap (for London, not for the UK as a whole) - the bathroom was new; the room was clean; the staff were lovely, particularly at breakfast; there were windows which opened and let in fresh air; and Earl's Court is a nice location. All in all I'd probably return, if the price was right.
Alina Dan (6/5): Good little hotel - I stayed at Lord Kensington for a day and I found the hotel a reasonable choice for the price and service. It's in a good area of London if you want to get around easily places, so it's not a bad choice for a short stay on a budget. The man from the reception was very kind and even offered one of the nicest rooms. All in all, a convenient stay in a reasonable priced hotel.
Sue H (8/5): Very Pleasant Stay - Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are very clean and have everything you could want for a short stay in London. Breakfast was quite adequate. Though not a great variety there is enough choice to suit its purpose. Location is ideal for Earls Court /Kensington and Chelsea area all within walking distance and, with the underground station close by, it is very easy to get anywhere across London without difficulty. We would recommend this hotel and will happily stay there again.
