Guest Reviews
- Albert (10/5): Eternal Rome. - A good location and a quiet area. Enrico was so polite with us and made sure everything is OK. Wifi was excellent. Tea and making facilities were available also in our room. Airconditioned - a must if one travels in summer. Will surely stay again!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): A nice small Hotel in a quiet place - We enjoyed our stay very much. We could reach the most famous places by Walking in 15 to 20 minutes. The guesthouse is a flat, the room was convenient and very clean and especially quiet. Because it was to the backside of the house, the room was rather dark, the only disadvantage. Doesn`t matter, when you are on tour during the day. The Service was pretty good and very helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great rooms, staff, and location - Excellent experience all around! 5 stars. Right between Vatican and downtown attractions. Nearby restraunts/bars. Great, attentive, and English speaking staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - ottima posizione ottimo personale sei a pochi minuti a piedi da tutto
- Alles nostalgisch eingerichtet sehr hohe Räume.nettes zuvorkommendes Personal.
- Taru (10/5): - The location is near to citycenter and from here you can also walk to vatican city. There are plenty of restaurants near. Staff was very friedly and room was spacious.
- Kaisa (10/5): - Lovely hotel in a great location. Check out way too early
- Karianne (8/5): Great little guest house - We stayed 5 nights at AntiquaRoma and were very happy with the choice. At a reasonable price we had a big room in a nice area close to the Vatican and the city centre, with a little balcony with a charming view. No complaints about the facilities, and the owner was very helpful.
The only negative thing was the noise from the street - there was quite a lot of noise late at night, and it was too warm to have the window closed. But apart fromthat, it was perfect :-)
- Tina (10/5): We love AntiquaRoma - We had a great stay at AntiquaRoma! Very friendly and helpful staff, great room, both bathroom and room were clean and the area were great. I will recommend it to all my friends!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant experience - Ideally placed, very nice and helpful host. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated.
- Irmeli (10/5): Lee & Lou - This small guest house hotel is in a convenient location with all kinds of restaurants nearby for breakfast and dinner. Close to the main attractions of Rome and, as walkers, we enjoyed exploring this beautiful city. The SIT Bus to the airport was close by as well. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The only drawback was the small shower stall.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Roma, Eastern - Clean, ok standard. Good location. Nice manager. A bit thin-walled. Good value.
Bunu bilerek beklentilerinizi belirlemeliniz.
- James (10/5): Highly recommended - Was a bit worried not to find any recent reviews of this guest house. I needn't have been concerned as it was the perfect stay. It's a lovely, safe street in a great area - central enough to get everywhere but less chaotic than other areas in Rome! You get a good sized room in a lovely apartment. We had one with an en suite but no balcony - we weren't disappointed. We didn't see the owner himself until the end of our 5 night stay, but we were welcomed on arrival and then allowed to just come and go as we pleased. The room was cleaned each day. When we did meet the owner he was great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Rome with a view!!! - Just spent 3 fabulous nights in Antiqua Roma and we will be returning there again.Just a wonderful place to stay.Central to all that Roma has to offer.Met by Enrico, our host,an absolute gentleman.Directed us on where to go.Gentleman..

- Chris (10/5): Great location. Good budget hotel - Very nice hotel. Close to Vatican and many nice piazzas. Very easy to get too from airport. Price is hard to beat. We stayed 3 nights but didn't spend too much time in our room. Only downsides are no A/C and no fridge in room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Super Standort - Sehr sehr guter Standort. Bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Zimmer. Sehr freundlicher Besitzer. Das Zimmer hatte Charme.
Einzige kleine Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten sind:
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Place to Stay - It was a great place to stay, Enrique who runs the place was fantastic! The only issue with the location is the fact that it was not located very close to a rail line. A friend and I were backpacking and it was a bit inconvenient for her to walk over a km with her pack from the closest rail line and the buses tend to be full so getting on with a pack was inconvenient. Overall the stay was great and would recommend it for anyone who asks. There is also a really good cafe on the bottom floor that has great coffee and service!
- Wayne (10/5): Quality - Beautiful room, best on 6 week tour. Great location for Rome, little distance from termini, but great for more than 1 night. Enrico very professional and helpful.
- Jürgen (10/5): Eine Perle in Rom - Traumhaft schöner Kurzurlaub in Rom. JEDERZEIT WIEDER!
- Andres B. (10/5): Excellent. - This is a very nice boutique hotel. Clean, welcoming, quiet, well located, with excellent service and the most amazing host, who went out of his way to assist us. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
- CJ (10/5): Rome city break - We enjoyed a fantastic trip to Rome and AntiquaRoma contributed to making it so enjoyable! As it isn't a hotel, staying in AntiquaRoma is more like temporarily living downtown Rome for a few days in your own apartment. For our needs, it suited us perfectly.
- Sergey (8/5): Wifi is what we need - Wifi is what we need. Wifi is too weak to send photos to fb and twi.
Enrique is good
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cozy Hotel - The hotel is an incredible find, especially considering the price. The hotel is ideally located within 15min to the Vatican and 30min of the Colesseum and the Roman Forum. Enricho, the hotel owner, is incredibly kind and inviting and speaks very good english. Cafe's are around every corner, therefore this is a great hotel that I would highly recommend staying at. It is strongly recommendedd to take the bus to the hotel which is a quick 15min trip from Termini. Finally there is a great little cafe that faces the river, just around the corner from the hotel that is ran by Vincenzo which is great for a casual bite or a large meal.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent location - Very central hotel close to Vatican city and the centro storico. Staff very friendly and helpful and the room and bathroom were very clean. Only downside was the poor quality of the bedding and towels, nasty nylon scratchy sheets & thin covers.
- JLR (10/5): Perfect Location - Antiqua Roma was the perfect location for our three days in Rome. We were able to walk to everything that we wanted to see. We visited the Vatican, Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori, the Pantheon, the Ghetto, Santa Maria in Trastevere, the Colosseum, Vittorio Emanuele and lots of churches, campos, piazzas, cafes and restaurants, shops and any nooks and crannys we could find. Our room was spacious and Enrico was very hospitable and helpful. And finally, it was extremely convenient and cost effective to catch the bus just a couple of blocks away for a direct ride to the airport. We hated to leave.
- gemmallina (10/5): Perfect location! - This hotel was absolutely perfect for my husband and I, traveling to Rome on our honeymoon. Enrico is beautiful and nothing was too much trouble for him. The location is unbeatable, we bought a Roma Pass and them never used it as we walked everywhere - from Trastavere to the Vatican, to Termini. It is a very safe location and there is a great authentic Italian restaurant on the next block - very small but always busy and delish! Grazie Enrico
- Aaron B. (10/5): Great place to stay! Great location! Great value! - Antiqua Roma was everything we expected from reading online reviews, and more. Our room was quite spacious, and had a nice big balcony to boot. The location was great too. About a block from the river and less that ten minutes from Piazza Navona. It is not a full service hotel, with a concierge etc. but the manager is around every day in the morning to offer suggestions and help out. I can't wait to recommend this place to someone i know.
- Brinadog (8/5): A good choice. - There are three rooms available in this private apartment. It's well located close to Castel Sant Angelo and easy to get to on the bus from the airport. The host is helpful in every way. We would happily stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very nice place to stay - Hotel is located in the very close to Vatican City.
Nice owner and very helpful!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, comfortable and loads of charm! - AntiquaRoma is clean, comfortable and has loads of charm! It's not really a hotel but more like an apartment above a block of offices, with three rooms. Our room had an en-suite but the other two rooms share external bathrooms.
There is no kitchen but a cafe called Lunch a few doors away. There was no kettle in the room which we were aware of, so brought our own but never used it!
The location is in a safe area and very central. The Vatican is 15 minutes walk away and everything else is in the other direction just cross the river, again just 15-30 minutes walk away depending on where you are going. There is an amazing Italian restaurant just a few minutes walk from the hotel where we were the only non-Italians. About 10 minutes walk across the bridge you'll find loads of other restaurants.
Be prepared to walk everywhere and sleep very well at night!
- Kev (10/5): Out and about in Rome - A great little place to stay away from the mainstream hotel groups, you feel part of the street culture and never far away from the main tourist spots. Also some little gems to be found in the quieter streets just across the river, enjoy the exploring!!
- Barb_traveler (10/5): Great B&B in Rome - AntiquaRoma is a B&B with about 4 guest rooms and the feel of a mini art gallery. The host, Enrico, is friendly and helpful, but does not live on the premises. We had a room with an ensuite bathroom that was spacious compared to a couple of previous hotels in which we stayed during this trip. Our room faced onto an interior courtyard that carried sound, but did not interrupt our sleep.
The location was close to bus lines if you need to limit walking; however, not more than a 30 minute walk to most of the major Rome attractions and about 6 blocks from Vatican City.
Room rates were reasonable, but need to be paid in cash as they do not accept credit cards. Amenities include free wifi if you need to stay connected and a computer for general use.
The only suggestion for improvement would be a continental breakfast service, but a couple of cafes are just a minutes away.
- Lucy (8/5): Lovely 'boutique' hotel with a wonderful owner - Enrico (the owner) is by far one of the best parts of this hotel - always ready and eager to help, whether with travel information, recommendations or to make you feel as comfortable as possible. What a lovely man! Location is brilliant, we didn't need to use a taxi ever as everything is walking distance. Cleanliness of the hotel (including that of the separate bathroom we had in the corridor) was always excellent with a daily maid. The only downside is that I am a very light sleeper and the noise from the street meant I didn't sleep well (but my boyfriend slept through the evenings fine so it's only an issue for light sleepers), but I predict that this is a common difficulty in hotels throughout Rome. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a more unique personal experience during their stay, if only for the fact that you will be in good and knowledgeable hands.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Easy and good location - When you get to AntiquaRoma you get your keys and your room, no hassle. Come and go as you please in your own pace. The manager is around every morning if you have any questions and he is really helpful. If that is what you need this is a great choice. Our stay was good, only a couple of things happened: 1. when we checked in at the agreed time, no-one opened the door and we called the manager. He then called the maiden who was asleep and she opened for us. 2. We got the wrong room since somebody else had erroneously gotten ours. Didn't matter much except that we had to switch room in the middle of our 6 days stay. The manager discounted 30 Euro for us because of that.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Had a great time, the location was perfect, only slight drawback was no kitchen facilities - just to make the odd cup of tea or a snack. Otherwise absolutely wonderful.
- Andrew (8/5): Excellent small hideaway in the centre of Rome - Pros: Location - it's in walking distance of most of the main attractions of central Rome. Close to direct bus to airport. Very friendly and helpfull host - even supplied plenty of wine. Free WiFi and use of PC. Plenty of guidebooks to borrow. Reasonably clean and well sized double room with most of the things you need. Cons: No bath - shower only located in separate bathroom across corridor. Insufficient storage / hanging space. No AC- which might be a problem for some in mid summer. No TV. Neighbourhood is noisy at night, because that's when they empty the bins. Pros or Cons depending on your point of view: you'd never know it was there - it's actually an appartment within a block. Only 3 rooms in this hotel. No dining, but there's a cafe next door (called Lunch). Historic building with many original features
- Anastasia (10/5): Pleasant experience! - Very good experience. The owner was very helpful and pleasant. We went to Rome for my birthday and the owner gave me a present and a bottle of wine which was a very nice and pleasant surprise. The check out time is 10am but our flight was 8 o'clock in the evening and the owner allowed us to stay for the day without any charge.
Big and comfortable room. Excellent location, close to all main sights. 15 min walk to Vatican city, 30 min walk to Colliseum. There is a shuttle bus service just outside the hotel to the airport. PLenty of places to go for a dinner, reasonably priced and less touristic.
- Devin (10/5): Great Location - Our first B&B that we have stayed in and were a little shocked at first but everything was great. The room was nice and comfy. Good size Bathroom. Enrico was very welcoming and spoke good english. Great location we walked every where in Rome and were able to head out for a few sights get back to our room and then go out and see more attractions.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great accomodation near Vatican - This hotel was really convenient for the sites, clean and Enrico the owner was really helpful. It's great value for money and the separate bathroom was no issue at all. The room and bathroom were always spotless.
Would definitely recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): AntiguaRoma - This was a fantastic hotel at a reasonable price in the heart of Rome--very close to all the main sites including the Vatican, the Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, etc. There is a convenient bus that takes you to the airport about 1 block from the hotel. The owner was extremely kind, friendly, and great to work with. He made us feel very comfortable and welcome. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. The neighborhood was also very safe.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel Antiqua- great location - This little place was a little difficult to find but once we did it was lovely. Remember to take the address with you, including street number (!) as there is no sign on the front. The owner Enrico canonot do enough for you, really helpful and the location is perfect. No more than 20 mins from everywhere. And in a quiet, safe, non touristy part of town, yet once you cross the bridge you are into the heart of Rome. Great for a 2-4 day visit to the city.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect location - This hotel is a very personable hotel. It's a 1 minute walk from the airport bus stop in Plaza Cavour and is central to all attractions. It's a nice quiet area within 5/10 from Spanish Steps, Vatican etc. Would defintiely recommend it
- michael (10/5): Rome in 3 days - Staff biligual and very helpful and friendly. There were maps, guide books, all kinds of travel aides avail.
Neighborhood alittle noisy at night, but since it is located in the center of such a big city, it is to be expected (no worse than NYC). This centralized location was ideal for getting to all the highlights of the city on foot / staff helped us organize our days to make the most of our sightseeing.
Room was clean and there was internet access, which was a real bonus to comfirm the rest of our trip & airline itinerary.
- Kristin (10/5): Comfortable place, great location - This hotel is slightly off the beaten path, which was a welcome break. However, it was an easy walk to everything. The service was very helpful, rooms very clean and we would definitely go back.
