Guest Reviews
- Youness (4/5): - There’s no reception. I wasn’t told before. I couldn’t reach them by phone since my roaming wasn’t working
I had to wait for a long time for them to answer the bell door
Area around the station is shady
- Sadaf (6/5): - It was a small room and he said no cleaning room and charges towel .
- Rachel (10/5): Wonderful owners/operators - Amazing stay. Close to public transportation and restaurants
Operators were extremely helpful with information on sightseeing and how to get there. Unfortunately we were pickpocketed on the metro but the operator gave us much help to get docs printed etc. We were very grateful for the kindness
Not easy to find but after a bit we figured it out. There is a lift for your luggage.
- Victoria (10/5): - I love this place. Looking forward to come back to Giovy again!! People in the neighborhood are nice.
- Patricia (6/5): - Convenient. Great staff. No hot water
- Yesica (2/5): - To expensive for what it is. Somebody almost robed us before entering to the B&B. Lack of maintenance in the property. You can hear every guess opening and closing doors. The A/C di don't work that much. Worst experience.
- samira (8/5): - Location, pleasant owners
- Helen (10/5): A nice room with a comfortable bed and TV. - The room was clean, tidy and had everything we needed during our stay. The bed was comfortable and we had a TV to watch when we stayed in.
- erez (10/5): - Lovely family of hosts. Affordable, clean and well located
- Dugadjin (10/5): - Bra personal
- Stavros (10/5): Value for money - Low budget staying. No problems. Owners are friedly and always ready for any help you may need. The room was clean. Couple of things that need to be improve. Aircondition was not working when wanted some heat especially in the night that was a bit chill. And there is no breakfast. Even though at the site it says that there is the choice of breakfast that is not true. If you want breakfast you have to go out in one of the bars they are around.
- Bettina (8/5): Centralt, rent og pænt - Meget centralt beliggende lille B&B tæt på Termini. Godt udgangspunkt for alle seværdigheder.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The courtyard is beautiful and the room was clean.
Extremely close-by to the Roma Termini
Wifi excelente.
Valeu pela localizacao e pela simpatia do pessoal.
- Hannah (10/5): - Great stay, pretty quiet, small room but had all the absolute necessity - heat, shower, sink, bed. That's all we needed.
- James (8/5): - The room looked a bit dated and quite basic and much smaller than any shown in the photos although clean. Also the safe was locked and the proprietor could not open it. However, the bed was comfortable (memory foam) and the hotel suited our needs, reasonable value and it was conveniently located close to the station. The breakfast was a continental breakfast which suited us fine. The room was one of four that I think were a converted apartment within a 6 story apartment block built in 1864 off a courtyard with a little pool and trees, so it had a bit of character. The proprietor was very helpful and explained the best busses to get to the more distant sights like the Vatican (no. 40) which worked out fine.
- Luce (8/5): - Gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis, zentrale, ruhige Lage
- Verified traveler (4/5): disappointing and pictures not honnest - the picture are not like the rooms which are wayyy smaller specially the bathroom of 1x2 meter...this B6B is basically an apartment where all the room have been turn into bedrooms. Only 4 table for the breakfast in a very small room so you have to wait in line to take your breakfast
- Annika (10/5): - Bra service.
- Agata (10/5): A nice place to stay in Rome - Great location- very close to Termini train station, where buses from both airports arrive.
It was a bit difficult to find Giovy- there was a sign on the street, by the gate, but nothing in the (beautiful!) yard- there were 4 staircases and it wasn´t easy to find the right one.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially when checking in, they gave me a map and a quick introduction and tips, what to see in Rome.
The room was comfortable and clean
It would be nice if there was more to choose from for breakfast, but it was ok.
It was possible to leave the luggage after check out to pick it up later- very helpful for me.
- Jennifer (8/5): Very close walk to Central Station - Great place to locate myself for 5 nights. Could have caught the train from airport to B & B as it was about a 10 minute flat walk from station. Close to shops, restaurants, station, Hop On Hop Off bus (station) metro, supermarket. About 5 mins to second biggest church in Rome and 20 mins to Colosseum. Had a kettle and fridge - bring your own tea etc. Bed not the most comfortable. Air Con big plus! Breakfast nothing fancy but enough.
- Patrik (8/5): Good, simple room - Close to trainstatio (<5min)
20 min walk to Coliseum and other sites
simple room but good beds.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hair dryer does not work in my room.
Breakfast , facility is nice. But one thing I want to request. Front door of the facility should be published on the web site in Expedia since I took long time to find you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Turtles in fish pond. Ristorante Alfredo across the road for great meals.
Voltando a Roma, com certeza me hospedarei aqui!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Très bon accueil, personnel sympa et à l'écoute. Petit déjeuner copieux. Emplacement de l'hôtel top. Je recommande.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - bon hotel mais
mauvaise situation
personnel agréable
- Aloha (2/5): - Everything was ok until the day we check out. Standing nest along the hall way of the hotel for waiting the uber, one of the staffs said something that we couldn't understand. I tried to explain that we just check out and wait for pick up...He finally gave us a middle finger and we had to get out side. I did take a picture of him with his middle finger too...Never ever come back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The bldg was built in 1884 and very well built however our room was smaller than the one pictured. The location is very convenient, not far from many places to eat and just minutes by foot from R.R., subway and bus stations. We stayed 4 nights and the breakfast they offer was a good start each day. We slept well every night and would stay here again. The staff is very nice helpful and friendly.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - ACCUEIL SYMPA PETIT DEJEUNER A MINIMA CHAMBRE A MINIMA
- Tony (8/5): Great value - The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The location is central and in a nice neighbourhood. The room is a bit dated, and the shower was very hard to use. The breakfast was very basic. For the price, this hotel is a good value.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet room with comfortable bed and up to date bathroom, good location near train station. Staff English was fine. Reception located one flight up, 2nd right entrance off inner courtyard, not marked within courtyard. Tasty breakfast. Room available early.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Two nignts ok - not more - Good location - for the first nights to orientate to the city. Quiet and nondisturbing sounds. The bathroom door couldn`t be closed. Cleaning done so and so.
- Ou Keun (8/5): Nice staff - Nice and warmable staff. Room condition is need improvement. But bed is good. nice location too.
- Étienne (8/5): Nice room - Nice room, clean. Shower is a bit messy since its so small. Breakfest is good, though really basic (bread, yogourt, coffee). Well located.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stayed here for 5 nights. Friendly staff, clean room, extremely comfy beds and pillows (tempurpedic-like), decent breakfast, strong wifi, good water pressure, and good air conditioning. However the bathroom does have very small shower and will be uncomfortable for larger persons. Also I'm not sure if I was being scammed or not. The front desk guy (who was from Bangladesh but I never got his name) tried to charge me for breakfast. Every single booking website says the hotel offers free breakfast. My booking itinerary even said amenities included is a free breakfast. However he said that when he looked at my booking papers, it didn't show free breakfast and then continued to say "I normally charge people 5 euros a day but will give it to you for 3 euros". But listen.... the website states that the hotel offers free breakfast so it doesn't even matter if "free breakfast" isn't stated in their copy of my booking. Anyways I showed him my booking where it clearly said breakfast was included. And he said that on his copy of my booking, it didn't show breakfast and that there are different types of booking such as a room with breakfast and a room without breakfast. I'm almost positive that's a lie because the website states that B&B Giovy offers free breakfast. Anyways he did apologize & decided not to charge us additional breakfast fees and blamed it on the reservation papers. Overall, really nice comfy place to stay but ran into a hiccup.
- Smut (2/5): - Check in was fast and the room was ok.
Bathroom smells from sewerage, very noisy toilet and no shower head.
Housekeeping did not change the bed sheets.
Breakfast was terrible.
Overall does not worth its cost
- Nicolle (2/5): - I did not even stay there, not a good area. Very crippy, me and the girls trying to get our money back, we did not feel safe at this property. I would not recommend this to anyone !!
- Jan (8/5): Great staff and great location - We stayed for 9 nights and every day our room was cleaned and our bed made up. Very friendly staff and very helpful. Great location to all attractions and within walking distance. All attractions are a 10 min walk from this B & B. Train station is 5 min walk and bus terminal. Excellent restaurants within 3 mins walking distance. A great place to stay, great for the price and we will be going back there next year and will stay at the same B & B. We made good friends with all staff. Sorry to have had to leave.
- Antonis (4/5): - It is not really a hotel. It is like small apartments here and there. The place needs to be renovated. But at least it was very clean.
- phil (10/5): - For budget travellers like my wife & I. Within walking distance of major attractions, clean, & satisfactory breakfast included. Near Termini station - so convenient for cruise ship passengers to & from ship, & airport.
- Cami (8/5): Nice hotel in a pretty good location - The hotel was nice, comfortable, not super luxurious. The location was a bit sketchy but nothing too bad. The elevator still requires going up one flight of stairs, which wasn't ideal and that's the only real downside. Everything else was great.
- Maureen Jane Wright (10/5): Cheap, cheerful, clean and central! - B&B Giovy consists of 2 floors in a large apartment building, with other hotels on other floors. It is a 2 minute walk from Roma Termini train station and surrounded by cafes, restaurants, fast food eateries, shops, souvenir stalls etc, amongst all life and usefulness. Farouk arrived within seconds of ringing the doorbell and booked us in very quickly, showing us straight to our room. He is a very friendly, helpful guy and gave us a local map, pointing out all places of interest and told us if we wanted to purchase open top bus tour tickets he could provide them. Our room was a twin bed, with private bathroom (great shower!) air conditioning, small fridge, tv and Juliet balcony. It was clean, pleasant and comfortable. A safe with key was provided, there were toiletries, towels and complimentary slippers and WiFi also. The breakfast included sliced white and brown bread (toast), kraft cheeses, fruit, croissants, butter, jams, yogurts, boiled eggs and as much tea/coffee/water/juice you wanted. The little breakfast room was cosy and Farouk was there to provide whatever he could and offer tourist advice or just have a friendly chat. He very kindly kept our suitcases safe on the last day, after check out, so we could spend out last hours before flying home sightseeing without dragging cases everywhere. Only complaint was that the small lift was not reliable (only 4 flights of steps but after walking for hours they seem like Ben Nevis!). Apart from this I would highly recommend!!
- Oliver (4/5): Convenient & friendly staff but needs cleaning. - Good: stayed on a high level floor with a small balcony and a door that opened to the outside air. There was plenty of room inside the room.
Friendly guy serving breakfast. They do have a little breakfast "buffet". All the toast and croissant, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fruit, juice, coffee and cookies you can eat and drink.
The bad: the water pressure in the shower sucks. And the bathroom wasn't cleaned as the used packets of shampoo were left from the prior guest. The shower door was a Pao to close. And now with the view of the shower behind the obstruction... Lots of mold.
- Randy (6/5): Convienent location - difficult to find office - Clean, convienent: the hotel is one sub-part of a couple of buildings in a court yard behind a big door; The intercom system was hard to hear and the towels were a little rough
- Mariana (8/5): Good location, good price - We wanted a hotel just for one night sleep close to Termini station, and this hotel fulfilled that. It is a very simple place, but clean and quiet. It was a little hard to find it at night.
- Ghulam (2/5): Very bad condition and some bad smell............ - Very bad towel has a hole and and they put pillow top mattress in advertisement.but mattress is very bad my wife has a back pain for that kind of mattresses.I can't recomended any my friend....................
- Robert (4/5): DONT BOTHER - The young man wh greeted us was nice as was the older man at breakfast. HOWEVER the man when we came back to get our suitcases was a horror. he growled at us about nothing and then just said a harsh goodbye and turned his back on us mumbling. the room itself wasnt much and bathroom tiny and a bit grubby. Its saving grace was little juliette balcony and proximity for greta restaurants. If you need a sleep gretat-otherwise dont bother
- Wouter (8/5): Nice stay at Giovy - It was a great stay, good restaurant in front of hotel and lots of flexibility.
Charming mini-piazza before entering the steps to the B&B. The soundisolation between rooms and hallway could be a bit better. But we slept like angels in our beds!
- Choong (6/5): Comfortable Budget Hotel - The staff had their hands full with the influx of guest booking in on Christmas Day but they done a good job settling us (a group of 9 teenagers and parents) down quickly.
- Anthony (8/5): Convenient and close - Because we were travelling around Italy by train we chose a hotel close to the main station and it was a good decision as we were close to the metro as well and so could easily reach all that we wanted to see in and around Rome.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Reasonably priced hotel close to Termini - Being close to the Termini (Rome transportation hub) made it easy to get to sights quickly. Small but effective breakfast available every morning - has a great coffee machine.
- Verified traveler (8/5): BandB - Very accommodating staff. Breakfast was nice. Convenient location.
Bed was a little hard.
Over all - I would recommend it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very central, very clean, very Italian - I was a little worried about the location - it was great and nothing 'dodgy'. I felt very comfortable walking around with my son and we ate in a couple of the street restaurants right by the hotel. It was great for access to the main train station and all major locations, in fact we hardly caught the metro at all. The rooms are basic but clean and really quaint. I will definite,y look to stay again should we visit Rome again
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent & convenient..you get what you paid for - It was a decent stay. The location is central...just 2-3min walk from Roma termini and plenty of eateries around. And, it's totally safe; I walked around in the area at 11pm in evening. The rooms are a bit old and the bed not that comfortable, but for the price they charge and the location I feel that it is a fine option. The staff is friendly though yes, don't count on the breakfast as I had to venture to get my own food daily though I like the fresh fruits they provide. They also asked me to pay for my 5 night stay in cash but somehow expedia didn't note this in my booking email. I do wish expedia can sort out its system so guests are notified in advance...unless it's issues on the hotel's end. At the end, they did allow me to pay by credit card so it was fine.
- Rebecca (8/5): Good value in Rome - The B&B was exactly what we needed for our short stay in Rome. The room was clean and met our needs. The breakfast was quite nice as there was a lot of choice. The location was good for the train station, which is the reason we chose the B&B, but the area around seems a little bit dodgy in the evenings.
- carnabombers (6/5): - The stay was ok. The location near the railway is convenient but a very busy and dirty environment. The room needs redecorating. The builkding is hundreds of years old and so the room appears that way also. The bathroom is so small, it is difficult to actually sit on the toilet. There is mould on the walls and the tiles are worn out. I would not stay at this B&B again.
- Mel (4/5): Good location but give it a miss - Not to the standards that we were looking for or we paid for.
- Van (8/5): Convenient B&B two blocks from the Rome Termini. - Staff, especialy Loredana was extremely pleasant and helpful. Room was nice, with size as expected. Air-condidtioning was welcome and very quiet. Breakfast was ample although I tend to agree with others that offerings were a little on the sweet side, but was possible create a more savory meal.
- Dion (8/5): Checkin starts later than stated - small bathroom, inside buikding with multiple hotels/b&bs. Helpful staff, will let you leave your bags for free
- Verified traveler (10/5): Convenient, deceptively good hotel. - Convenient for station Termini. This hotel is not obvious from the address, we were however emailed very good instructions on getting there which we unfortunately didnt get as we were travelling for 3 weeks prior to the booking. Took us about 10 mins to find right door at 87b rather than 85 . The email also tells you that payment is cash only which might be worth knowing in advance for some people. ( credit card through Expedia secures booking and price but payment was on checkout) Initially when shown in wondered what the room would be like as went up a floor in a very small , ancient looking lift. But was very pleasantly surprised . Good quality room with everything you need including wi fi. Breakfast buffet style and a little unusual in that there quite a range of cakes to compliment the usual croissants, fruit juices and hot drinks. One of our fellow guests commented on the lack of fruit and yogurt but there was quite a wide selection of stuff. Staff were very relaxed , helpful and friendly . Doesn't have the " image " of some of the larger hotels but we think it was a good find ( based partly on previous Expedia reviews) and very good value compared with a 4* round the corner that we had used at the start of our trip.. Would definitely recommend and consider using again if go back to Rome.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Giovy a good value - Very pleasant and helpful staff. Easily accessible by foot from termini. We could walk to many significant sights from Giovy. Quite satisfactory breakfasts. Our room was in excellent condition and quite clean.
- Tom (10/5): Super Clean Family Run Hotel - Great Value - Excellent overall experience. This family run hotel is immaculate. The owner Joanna and her family are passionate about the cleanliness of the hotel and quality of their guest's stay. They are always there, give great information and are so welcoming. Fantastic experience. Great location as we walked with our luggage from the Termini train station. You must remember that this is a European hotel so the room and bathroom are small. The showers were excellent! Each room apparantly has an instant hot water heater so you can take a good American style shower with hot water and great pressure! Ha!
We will definitely stay there again and send our college aged daughter to stay there later this year. They will take good care of her.
- Karel (10/5): great hotel for travelers - Great staff, comfortable rooms, great place , recommend to anyone.
.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Giovy - 5 minute walk from train station.
Large room area.
Problem with bathroom - toilet water leaked onto floor & toilet smelled of sewer. Staff tried to fix by dumping chemicals down drain but it did not eliminate the bad odor.
Bath towels well used and should be replaced.
We left for the train station before the breakfast started and the staff invited us to eat before leaving which was nice of them.
To get to the room you had to leave the main part of the reception area, go outside and up back stairs. Although there was a locked door to the hall leading to the rooms anyone off the street could come into the area before the locked door during the day.
Breakfast ok - to many dessert type pastries and no fruit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good location and Nice small B & B - The rooms are small but in a convenient location to Termini station. The owners and those working there are all family and are very nice and helpful. They recommended a super restaurant to us our final night in Italy. They also had breakfast available very early so we could have something to eat before we left early for the airport.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place - I made this reservation at the last minute. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The breakfast was the usual sweet Italian stuff but copious and well presented. The room was very clean and comfortable. Very quiet and the location near Termini was very convenient.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great value for a nice hotel. - Very friendly and helpful staff. It wasn't clear from the description, but you get your own bathroom. Overall, this was a great place to stay. Location was very convenient to the main train station, and in very safe area with plenty of restaurants. Can't overstate how friendly the staff was. I'll definitely stay here next time I visit Rome. Thank you Giovy and family!!
- Tyler (10/5): Hotel Giovy - The hotel room was very nice. The manager Giovanna was extremely nice and was able to suggest nice restaurants in the area. She also went out of her way to make breakfast for me when I had an early flight out of town. Overall a very good experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quaint Bed and Breakfast - The staff were the friendliest that we found on our Europe trip. If you are looking to "feel" Italian, then this is the place for you. The breakfast was a feast. The location was very convenient being close to the Termini station. Cannot say enough about how nice they are.
- M&R (8/5): location near train station and exceptable restaurant - Very friendly owner - recommended a very good restaurant and also opened the breakfast room for us to help ourselves at 6:00am as we had a train to the airport to catch. Many restaurants in the area and we walked to all the major sites. Only thing that was not pleasant was the deodorizer in the bathroom was extremely strong smelling.
- Colin (8/5): Giovy, Rome - Absolutely fine and very convenient for the main railway station and hence the airport. Very pleasant and helpful family run business. Would use it again.
Less convenient for the main sites though the metro and buses are frequent and relatively cheap
- shelly (10/5): would definitely go back - Staying at the Giovy was a great experience, Friendly staff, great breakfast, great price convenient location. will stay there on my next trip to rome without a doubt. Tutti e meravigilioso
- Yativ (10/5): GREAT HOTEL. CAN'T ASK FOR MORE - Great hotel.
Personal care.
the room was clean, new and great.
near termini station. it's NOt a dangeraus place. don't belive everything you hear.
- Alex (10/5): Great place to stay in Rome - Hotel was close to Termini, but not too close. A very short walk, which we found quite convenient. Easy to find. Upon arriving, she was very welcoming to us. This is not an act on her part. It is genuine. She is the kind of person that helps her neighbors as well as her guests. Her breakfast was made with care. If you want 3 cappuccinos, she would make them without hesitation. Although, I would reccomend her espressos, my wife claims that was the best hot chocolate she ever had in her whole life! She also gave us a map and directed us to the sites to see. Her hospitality was a great thing to have, especially while on the road.
- Laura (10/5): Great B&B!! Giovanna is the best!! - Giovanna was such a great lady!! We greatly enjoyed our stay in her B&B. She has an awesome authentic breakfast and cappucinos every morning. She is so nice and accomodating. We plan to go back and would recommend this B&B to everyone.
