• Verified traveler (6/5): - The stay in Venice was okay, the cutlery was dirty and there was a funny smell. The property was very bright at night and did not seem the most secure. It was located in a back alleyway behind mcdonalds so was quite noisy. The walk from the hotel to collect the keys to the property was quite long in the heat.
• Fuchigami (8/5): - Reasonale staying, I am satisfied with several factors overall. Good wifi and quiet. Good water pressure even if I stayed at the top floor. Needed to pick up the key from the other hotel taking aorund 10 minutes-walk. Some mosquitos in summer.

There was absolutely no directions provided as to how to get to the “hotel” to check in. It is located in one of those streets so narrow that when you spread your arms you touch both sides. Try to find a hotel on such a street!

• jose (6/5): - The place is in great area, easy to walk, go shopping and convenient to see the whole city. A few things I didn’t like. The communication is one the owner provided us the key for the apartment but we didn’t know if someone comes every day to clean the place, or provide toilet paper, but the place was with only to rolls one of those rolls was gone the first day. The other thing I didn’t like was the place is a nonsmoking but at night the fumes of cigarettes was terrible.

• Amine (10/5): - Nice apartment, clean, 1 min from vaporetto Ca d'oro station, near to restaurants, the market, realto bridge... etc, lack of some kitchen utensils.. The problems: 1-The absence of the escalator, and the staff gave us the top roof apartment although we are a family with kids and stayed 4 days, so they did not think about the difficulties to get there. 2- They did not change the towels until I through them in front of the door the third day. 3- The reception was 10 min far so it was difficult to get there to ask for any other services or update.

• Verified traveler (2/5): - Booked 2 nights, but had to changed the hotels after first night. Had a roon in the attic - had to drag suitcases to almost 6th floor, no elevator. Worst thing was no warm water at 9pm, couldn't even shower after a long sweaty day!!! Stuff didn't respond to my emails and didn't care to help, just said that water runs down and have to wzit for several hours. Worst bed ever - mattress was wrapped in plastic, very uncomfortable to sleep on, super old blankets and everything else. Very low ceiling in attic, my daughter had to crawl to her twin bed. In spite of all the troubles and that i moved to another hotel the next day, this management didn't refund me a penny, including for unused night. Stay away.

The only drawback is we had the attic apartment which has a (locked) door leading to the apartment below and from there you can hear every single conversion of the occupants and use of the kitchen. A part from that lovely place and affordable for Venice.

Ho visualizzato specificatemene che ci fosse il bagno privato( dato che, come sappiamo, a Venezia non è scontato) al momento della scelta della stanza mi hanno indirizzato in degli appartamenti legati alla struttura alberghiera, ma non era ben messo in chiaro che lì il bagno era in condivisione. Per cui, vorrei aver rimborsato l’importo dovuto, dato che non era mio desiderio lavarmi e farmi la doccia in un bagno in comune. Con tutto il rispetto, non era un nostro desiderio e non ci siamo trovati a nostro agio.

• Syed Abbas (4/5): - The property was listed as an Apartment but it can hardly be classified as one. Secondly, the check in is at another Hotel which was inconvenient as the property was further away from it. The apartment was located in an alley and was noisy till late in the night. It was not worth the price at all. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

It was lovely to be able to stay in such a central part of Venice with so many restaurants nearby, but not too central to the point where it was super crowded. We loved being able to use AC as well as to have our own kitchen. Communication at the front desk was great, and we were able to get some lovely recommendations from the nice man at the front desk.

• Elizabeth (4/5): - This was a disappointment. First of all, check-in and location of apts. aren’t at same place. You have to walk 10 mins to check in and then come back to property. They gave us an attic room which took 9 flights of stairs, extremely exhausting after having walked 10 mins with luggage. Our luggage hardly fit in room and since it’s an attic you have to either squat or sit to fix luggage. My son is 5’11 and he felt like a giant. Towels are like bed sheets but this might be a Venice thing.

• Verified traveler (2/5): BED BUGS and Misleading Description! - This hotel has very misleading photos of the actual room. The chances you'll receive something very different from what you booked are high. The hotel is in a great location, sure it's pretty close to a few bars so noise can be a factor at night, especially during the weekends but that's not a big deal for me. The room however gave us a sofa bed which was not what I expected. So the bed turned out to be terrible to sleep on. The towels they gave are more like table cloths which were very strange but the worst part of my stay was BED BUGS! Unfortunately, the hotel is not very clean, and they do not do daily housekeeping besides changing your towels and clearing your trash. I would not stay here again nor recommend it to anyone else. Stay at your own peril!

• Petros (4/5): Bad experience in venice - Terrible stay. The worst I've had so far. I got to the hotel only to be told that my booking had been cancelled, although the booking was still showing as active on my membership account. I called the website and they told me it was an issue i should take up directly with the hotel because i was paying the hotel directly. In short i think that there was either a miscarriage if responsibility, or that the hotel decided to give my room to someone else without communicating with me. They then took on the role of trying to help me with my dilemma by selling me 5he only room they had left. And eight bedroom apartment, that was more expensive than i was planning for. The room was in a basement, noisy without good ventilation. I felt used and humiliated and it ruined my vacation.

• Ludovic (8/5): Rudimentaire mais bien situé - 3 nuits dans cet appartement lumineux car situé au 3ème étage. Équipement rudimentaire (pas de micro-ondes ou de petite casserole par exemple) et salle de bain commune à 2 appartements.

• manishs789 (10/5): Apartment Mazzoni was very close to the Santa Lucia train station in Venice and restaurants and amenities very near the. - The apartment is very conveniently located in the heart of Venice and very clean and comfortable.Everything is close by.Lots of nice restaurants nearby and a grocery store Despar is walking distance.Even getting a water bus close by.Getting to the airport very easy from the apartment.
• S7134LCG (2/5): Classic bait and switch. Owners not honourable. Much better places to stay in this price range. - Classic bait and switch. The pictures from the add and the perception that was communicated from these images simply did not reflect the actual room. When questioning the owner it was clear they had heard this many times before --- their response was immediately adversarial and that it 'was the address we booked -- it was our fault'. Their solution was either we pay more money (to rent the room in the pictures) OR they give us a lesser room in their parent hotel (Hotel Silva Ariel) with no kitchenette and a free breakfast thrown in. Our room had no windows that could be opened, was a dark as a dungeon by day -- but light up at night due to bright lights shining in. Additionally, it was in an alley 1.4m wide with the entry door directly across the back service door and exhaust of a McDonalds. You need to be aware that if you book this you will be subject to constant noises (BEEP BEEP BEEP) from the alarms of 3 different industrial cooking fryers from the McDonalds from 8:30 AM to 1:00PM. Deliveries are also made to McD's --- directly outside your door from about 6AM to 8.30AM in the morning. There is no chance for sleep without ear plugs. Nothing like the pictures that showed brigth airy room with open views of the skyline. One 'window' was actually blacked out glass to the room next door --- you could practically hear the people next door breathe. Lastly, the 'kitchenette' did not even have a fry pan, an electric kettle or a dish towel. It did however have a skanky pot. Proper towels in the bathroom would have also been nice. The owners behaviour was not honourable - they are not genuine and simply don't care. This was my 3rd time in Venice --- there are better places to stay in this fantastic unique and great city within this price range.

• Disgruntled (4/5): - We did like the location of the place, yet you have to walk around ten mins to get to the actual apartment from the lobby, since they are two separate buildings. The apartment had no hot water, the bed was damaged and the mattress was down to the floor with no support and clearly old. The service was mediocre and the receptionist was really dismissive and rude.
• Verified traveler (2/5): - Worst accomodation in the world. Please do not stay here. Avoid this at all cost, you are better off sleeping in the streets. It is old, dirty, small, there are bedbugs everywhere, no bathroom! I am very serious when I say this was the WORST experience ever.

The guy in charge wasn’t helpful at all. Very hard to find. The bathroom was horrible. Hardly slept because their was something making a noise. I could go on & on!!!!

• Louisa (10/5): Great! - The apartment was fantastic, easy to find, and was kept beautifully clean. We loved it, and the kitchen area was well-equipped enough for us to be able to easily make food there every day (it's also right next to a supermarket). The apartments are also in a good location, because they are a little out of the way, and so not as busy as some other areas of Venice during the time we stayed. We loved Venice Apartments, and would highly recommend them to anyone staying there.
• Philip (8/5): Very good value and convenient location - A great value studio flat situated close to the centre (about 10-15 minutes walk to Rialto Bridge) of Venice.
• kRISTINA (10/5): Penthouse with wonderful view - We stayed in the penthouse. The penthouse was even better than ordered. We booked with a double and single bed, in the end it was a two-room with two double beds. The view from the window is chic, the room is clean, in the kitchen all appliances and utensils were. The location of the hotel is excellent - everywhere you can get there on foot. The only negative is the towels. They were more like a sheet than a towel. In the rest of the hotel we put 5 points.

• Kiki (6/5): Central stay in Venice - We enjoyed our stay at this simple but clean apartment.This is a basic stay. We have been out and about with our kids all day and didn't spend much time in the apartment.
• Mark (8/5): Central location and good size - The room was located in an area that made all of Venice accessible. The check in process was quick and efficient. The room was large with everything required. Bathroom sharing not ideal but we had it to ourselves most of our stay.
• Anna Lyn (10/5): 10/10 would recommend - AMAZING!! Perfect for those who want to live more central and more secluded from the intrusion of hotels. This place made me and my friends feel like we lived in Venice! Incredibly homey and central! However, keep in mind that you HAVE TO go to the hotel at a different location first! I know others had problems with this and it was through the comments we knew we had to do so, but it was no problem at all. Its a bit of a walk from the train station but central to the city! There was airconditioning too which was insanely important during the heat of late May.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel lo justo y necesario. - El hotel no esta situado donde te dicen! Primero hay que ir a otro sitio a coger las llaves y de ahi te mandan a tu apartamento. Los apartamentos estan situados por toda la zona... a nosotros nos toco uno un poco alejado... Menos mal que todo esta al lado pero mas lejos que lo esperado.... por la noche habia buen ambiente por nuestra zona y nada de turistas ( gente local y bares de copas)
• Verified traveler (6/5): Very noisy location - It was too noisy. Right next to several bars. And directly across from the stock room for a McDonalds that started operations at 3.30am. We got very little sleep Door was glass with a piece of plastic in the middle section for a little blocked light
• Derek (8/5): Worth extra to be in the center with family. - Two night stay and everything was fine, as other comments reception is at another hotel. Hotel Ariel Silva, half way between Train Station and apartment. Staff there spoke English and were very helpful. Apartment is behind Macdonalds and the Conad supermarket is 2 minutes walk. Nice to fix breakfast and dinner and have a short pause between sightseeing.
• Michael (6/5): Family Apartment - Finding the hotel to check in then finding to room was quit a chore. I had to find an Italian to talk to the hotel clerk and find out where the hotel entrance was located. Room itself was fine, right behind a McDonnald's, very small shower.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Not easily accessible. - Not furnished well. No WiFi. No proper arrangments. No proper assistance. Overall an okay stay! Also, quite a bit away from the main train station. Reaching with luggage could be cumbersome!
• livid (2/5): Not a penthouse, room opening to gutters - Really not good! Whether a penthouse exists, I am not sure but the room we were allocated opened onto the gutters of the Venice streets. With a frosted glass door (no curtain) and only glass patio doors/shutter between 'our' apartment and the next door one. Washing machine had several buttons missing and did not look safe to use and would be better removed and the hob had a dial missing so only one hob was usable. No kettle and thus a saucepan was the only way to heat water for tea. Very noisy from the next door apartment when people were in there and some noise from outside. We had booked a penthouse and by no stretch of the imagination could this be described that way. Very disappointed that the vetting of properties cannot be relied on to ensure that descriptions are accurate.
• Roubiliac (6/5): a bit too low budget - Convenient in the Cannaregio. As long as you plan in advance and read the paperwork finding the hotel Ariel to pick up the keys and then finding the apartment is not onerous. Hint - the apartment is the first street left after Macdonalds. However the TV didn't work and aircon didn't work. It was very hot in April and the mozzies were already active. Dead easy to get to the Ca D'Oro Vaporetto stop. The kitchen was very basic. No microwave and NO bottle opener!! If there had been a private bathroom I'd have given it 5 starts for value for money. The bathroom was immaculately clean and there was no problem sharing, we just hadn't expected it. I'd book again, but make sure I had a one of the private bathroom apartments.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Very Poor - Never again. The worst accomodation experience we have ever had with terrible service that was both inefficient and unprofessional.
• nbolanos (4/5): not too bad. - Location is ok, near to a main street, restaurants, supermarkets. cost/benefit is acceptable. having the check-in at a different place, 10-15 min walk from actual hotel and carrying your luggage and tired children, is simply a nightmare. (if you don't have a phone and GPS, you are easily in trouble). toilets are not so clean (probably for most of 0-2 stars hotels in here).
• Verified traveler (2/5): Worst accomodation experience ever - If there was a minus rating I could use to describe this place and the experience I would. Be warned. Do not ever book here. I know that I should not have been expecting the Ritz for what I paid but the experience was aweful. My booking was situated in Calle Zotte which was more central, close to the Rialto etc. When i arrived at the address of my booking, there was no reception and the door was locked. After lugging my baggage for a while and ringing all the apartments, I eventually found out that the reception was near the train station which I had already passed and had to go all the way back. No instructions were sent by Hotel.com explaining this. Once i got to hotel ariel where the reception was, they said they had overbooked my accomodation so basically what i paid for in terms of location and what i got was not the same. I was forced to stay in a very scummy location deep in Cannaregio with no alternative. The receptionist was very unhelpful. Unfortunately this experience resulted in a very negative impression of Venice and i could not wait to leave.

The problem is that management does not provide ANY information about how to get the key to the apartment. To get the key, you will have to call the phone on the reservation. Upon calling the phone number, you will learn that you need to find a local hotel to check in and get the apartment key. The problem with finding the managing hotel is that the hotel is a good 10 minute hike away and down a small side street that is poorly marked. Even with the help of a local, it took 30 minutes to find the managing hotel. Good luck, without the help of a local, it might take 45 minutes to over an hour to find the managing hotel. Moreover, a few members of the hotel staff that services the apartment are very rude. When we checked out of the apartment at the hotel's reception desk, the manager told us that we could use the hotel's internet, since our apartment did not have internet access. While we were using the internet, a staff member found it inconvenient that we were using the table that the manager told us to use. The staff member who was cleaning the area mocked us in Italian to other Italians. This rude staff member just assumed that we did not understand Italian. The manager seemed to know that the staff member was disgruntled. At one point, the manager asked to staff member to be patient. Yet as soon as the manager left the room, the disgruntled staff member continued mocking us to other hotel guests that spoke Italian.
• Bella (8/5): Great location...basic but clean... - Great location where you can walk to almost everywhere and 5 minutes to Ferry Stop Fundamente Nove which takes you to the airport or Murano, which takes you on to Burano and Torcello. Great local bakery, shops and cafes in the next street and 3 minutes to the local supermarket, Billa, which has everything at a reasonable price. Small apartment but adequate and a great maids service including fresh towels daily. Bring your own corkscrew.
• Lexsy (4/5): Bed Bugs - I was very disappointed with this apartment hotel. expensive for what had to offer. Television was a small old tube TV that did not work. Beds were old, uncomfortable and had bed bugs since we had skin bites. Just to get the key of the apartment you had to walk 1/2 mile not so convenient when you are not fluent Italian and are trying to get directions.
• Wendy (6/5): Don't stay there, unless you can speak Italian - We would not have found the"meeting hotel" if our porter had not known where it was. When we got there we were offered a room close by for the same price as the apartments. We had been travelling all day from Nice, France, 3 ladies in our 70's. We were told the apartments were a 6 minute walk away up 4 flights of stairs. We asked if there we be a refund as we had paid for an apartment but were only being offered a room. No refund was given. I think that they could see we were exhausted and took advantage of us. Ringing up to get the location of the "meeting hotel" was a nightmare as the man who answered the phone had no English to speak of.
• Tom & Lee (8/5): The apartment - The apartment was great The only complaint or disappointment was the king size bed was two twins together and we kept slipping into the crack. And there was a broken washer in the apartment we thought we could use. Why don't they just take it out? So there won't be any confusion.
• Anna (6/5): Pleasant - It was handy and easy to get around. It was fine for 2 days did not have too much for cooking you need to eat out all the time. Overall I would stay again for a couple of days.
