Guest Reviews
- Giuseppe (10/5): Tutto top - Tutto Nulla
- Georgia (8/5): -
Pareti molto sporche e lesionate

- Neil (8/5): Recommended due to good location, good standard of room, fittings, furniture. Would stay again. - Location one train stop out of Florence Central made for very easy trips into the tourist areas - without getting stung for the high hotel prices.
The room and bathroom were of good size and the bed comfy.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
The station is a few minutes walk away and there is a cafe there for coffee and sandwich/rolls (note if getting a coffee with milk, ensure they use hot milk !!)
Low cost (Eu1.60 or so) ticket into main station and frequent service.
(A general Florence comment that the ice creams are expensive at Eu4 a scoop but they do, mostly, give a good sized serving for that. Wait till you get to Rome, the same mega-scoop for only Eu3 !) Accommodation is on the top (3rd floor) with no lift.
Could have done with some heating to offset the October night chill but apparently local rules prohibit heating accommodation until end of October, as found out in previous accom !
Not clear to us that there was a shared "lounge" area - i think this was "under development" when we were there since extra facilities are now shown on the website - a good improvement.

- Janelle (10/5): - The location was awesome! Right in the heart of Florence. Easy to access. Girasole's place is clean with all the amenities that you need. Would stay here again on our next trip to Florence.
- carlos (8/5): -
- Rama (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (8/5): Very good - close to train station, quiet and clean, great little open air deck, easy 24hr access, friendly and helpful hard bed and low pressure shower
- Palin (8/5): Very good - A very nice flat! Very very nice staff!
- Robinson (2/5): Very poor -
- Rogelio (1/5): Rude staff, no AC. - Not much. I do not rate this hotel as 0 stars because it is not an option. Really disrespectful staff. If you do not speak Italian DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL. And if you do, expect a grumpy older gentleman who is not willing to assist in any way.
- Angela (2/5): Run! You can get a decent place for the same money - There was a sip sent on the mattress. Mosquito cadavers were glued to the walls. Lots of mosquitoes will eat you alive. They will not replenish the toilet paper or beg you clean towels. Mold in the shower. There was nobody at the reception desk in 4 days. The key of our door broke while trying to open the door and there was nobody around to help Nothing
- Robert (9/5): Great value in a small mom-and-pop hotel - It's a great value, and a very mom-and-pop feel to it. No frills, but solid basics. The window shades didn't seem to be adjustable, which made the room a bit darker than it could have been. Also like a lot of European hotels, there were no washcloths.
- Noel (10/5): Very nice room and very convenient location. - Very close to train station (Firenze Refredi). The elevator is not yet in service.
- Rhys (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (3/5): Poor -
- Maryanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nailah (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (3/5): If they change the bad and put the nets on the window that will be very nice, because lots of mosquitoes inside the room - The bed is terrible, it seems like very old condition. The location is very good, easy to find the transportation.
- Theodore (10/5): Very Good - Located very near the railway ,one station away from the center of Florence , quite neighborhood , tidy building . Very helpful hosts.
- Durukan (7/5): Good -
- Concubhair (5/5): Passable -
- Anonymous (10/5): Comfortable and spacious room with friendly staff. - The location of this property is on short train ride away from the city centre of Firenze. 3 minute walk to the train station and about 1.50€ for a ticket. The owner speaks very little English but tries his best to ensure his guests have a wonderful stay. He did his best to communicate with us and was super friendly. Our bed was made each day and our room was clean. No Wi-Fi but there was a password posted on the desk. Must have just been out during our stay.
- Hakan (5/5): Average - Location is good, is very close train station. The staff can not manage the property, they dont know if property is busy or not, they tried three times to open the door without knocking it. It makes to feel uncomfortable and unsafe.
- Sienna (9/5): Superb - Great location, 1 min walk to the train station. Great staff who were friendly and accommodating. Be prepared it is quite loud in the streets at night but nothing unbearable.
- Michael (8/5): I had a comfortable stay, I think it was great value, and I would stay here again. - The location is great. It's very close to a train station. The closest tram stop is about 10 min walk away, which is not bad.
The staff were very helpful and attentive. The Wi-Fi signal was not very strong in my room, which was at the very end.
- Mariam (7/5): Good -
- Aleksandra (7/5): Good - There was common kitchen, but not every equipment was working. We could not wash dishes after use in the kitchen
- Cristian (5/5): it was decent. - close to the train station. it was very hot.
- Danielle (1/5): Warning for travelers from outside of Italy, do not stay here, worst travel experience to date. - The location was good because it was next to a train station that took you into the city. Unfortunately this has to be broken up into a couple of parts. Brief overview, they locked us out until 3 am our first night, they entered our room randomly, they would not communicate over apps and probably most importantly they did not treat us respectfully.
We were worried about this stay beforehand so we emailed a week in advance to let them know we would be coming in late. They did not respond to that email, but they did send us the instructions for how to enter. They said it was automatic check in but they messed up and locked our key in our room. It was midnight so we were already very worried and paid a taxi driver to take us elsewhere, he was kind enough to try and call the owner. The driver was trying to look out for us and told the owner something to the extent of take care of your clients. The owner told off the taxi driver for looking after us, thats not all though, as we were arriving to the door the owner was sure that it was our fault, that we were too "stupid", is a word I heard come from his mouth over the phone, only to reach the door and he told us oh sorry I forgot it's a habit to lock the door before leaving.
All seemed well enough until we asked about the possibility of not paying the city tax because of the issue with the door. Our last day they tried to charge us an EXTRA 340 euro, saying we stayed an extra day. So they took our towels, stripped our beds and left a note adding up all the things that would make up 340 euro. Luckily booking.com solved the issue because we had the booking confirmation and had paid for that day. It was so hard to communicate with them. The woman speaks some English and the main owner speaks none. If you have a tight budget like we did, I would STRONGLY suggest paying a little more to find something better. Also the people cleaning in the morning would randomly enter our room in the morning with little to no warning, owner included.
- Izabela97 (8/5): Very good -
- jon (8/5): - Alessandra and her father were very accommodating. The property was in good condition. A lack of a working elevator was an issue as it was on the top floor of a building. They said it was being installed, so maybe in the future it will be better. I liked how close it was to a fitness center and the train station. Definitely take the breakfast down at a cafe instead of the one offered on site. They give you a voucher for it. The fresh food is much better. An issue we had to deal with was the mosquitoes. if it wasn't for them our stay would have been great.
- Wade (10/5): lovely place to experience bologna from - good location near a major train station, friendly staff, affordable but medium large room. ask about how the aircon works first! stairs 🥲 ventilation in shower could be better, mosquito’s are common so try to keep windows shut
- Cristian (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kejvi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chantal (8/5): Very good -
- Lori (5/5): Passable -
- Ian (3/5): Poor -
- Alan (5/5): Comfortable but challenging for seniors. - Location was great near Rifredi train station. Internet was reliable. Air conditioning was terrific to have the option to turn on. Breakfast was a struggle. Coffee vending machine didn't work, Other guests who didn't pay for breakfast were taking the food meant for us. To their credit, management did compensate us for the breakfast costs we paid. However, management disappeared for two days over the weekend and we had no way to resolve issues. They need screens on the windows - I was eaten alive by mosquitoes - 40 bites in two nights....Also, no elevator. 49 stairs from street level to the room level. Not great for getting luggage to/from the room.
- Dr (7/5): This place was a privately run flat that offered butter facilities than a 2-star hôtel. - The room had all the basics including bidet and the bed was comfortable and clean. The room was kept clean and tidy every day. There was also access to tea/coffee and the broadband connection was good. The location in someways was great, only 300 meters to the train station so we took the train to explore other cities. The accommodation was on the third floor and without a lift so at the end of the day we had to put in more energy to negotiate the steps up. The location is near a busy road and the train station so we had to put up with the traffic noise and keep the windows firmly close at night.
- Olga (7/5): Hotel is okay
Hotel is okay, but next time I will choose another one - Room was okay The breakfast was terrible, only bread and old kekse
Administrator speaks only italian language
- Ivan (8/5): Very good -
- Alisa (3/5): Do not recommend - Location the receptionist was rude, he was angry that it was a last minute booking - if it’s a problem, don’t allow it on booking.com. he was angry I didn’t speak Italian - well, he didn’t speak my native language either. at first he didn’t even give us the controller of AC and set the temperature to 28 degrees. I went to the reception to ask for the controller, he gave us a 10min lecture about why it’s not good to set the temperature lower, didn’t really ask for it - had to use translator to understand him. he did end up giving it to us but really. i understand this is a very old man, but this is a place of business, I came here for a nice stay not to visit my grandpa and tolerate all of his “personality traits”. when we were checking out no one was there. some other clients were also waiting and they called the guy. Overall do not recommend.
- Ibrahim (1/5): no not all - The receptionist was an old man. When we get the room he took the ac controller and didn’t give it to us. The Ac wasn’t working at all. we told him that the ac wasn’t working his answer was “it’s because of the sun, the room is located south east that’s why it’s hot. Apparently the ac was not working outside was much cooler than the room. We booked the room with breakfast but there was no breakfast. We also booked the room with park place but there was no available park place, we paid almost 10 euro separately from the room.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Could not get into the building until 4 pm, even though check in is 330. Tried calling to only be told to email, which we had multiple times with no answer. First night we were given the control the the ac. Next day it disappeared and it was uncomfortably warm in our room. No accessible drinking water or cups for tap other than the 2 bottles left in our room the first night. There was a coffee machine that was nice. There wasnt much in the location, but public transportation wasnt far and was reasonable.
Essenziale nell'arredamento nelle aeree comuni. Camera pulita, così come asciugamani e tappetino.
- chew (2/5): No service at all. - Lousy! There is no reception on the afternoon I arrived. I had to call and the guy spoke no English. (Multilingual staff on the website and he spoke only Italian, Portuguese and 2 words of English.) Waited for 30 minutes for the lady (spoke Italian only) to open the door. Drag my heavy luggage up a flight of stairs to the 2nd floor and no lift. The location is 5 minutes from the main train station. Not much to eat around the place except for pizza. It is a 4 room apartment converted provide lodging with no service at all! Pay a little bit more to stay in a place downtown.
