Guest Reviews
- Xhulia (9/5): -
- Kristjana (6/5): Great location and friendly staff, needs a bit of an update - Very friendly and helpful staff, great location for the Venice Biennale, bathroom was large and bright. Never received fresh towels (stayed 3 nights, four days), one day we didn't receive a refill on coffee and somehow (without us ever opening a window) the room constantly had a lot mosquitoes - I started to wonder if they were coming in through an airlock. For the price, which was a lot, given the location and timing of the Biennale, it was quite lacking.
- Kowalczyk (10/5): Cudowny personel i super lokalizacja, polecam! - Korzystna lokalizacja i przemiły personel.
- Malene (10/5): - Ordentlige generøse og pålidelige forhold

- breed (8/5): - Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Goede centrale locatie in een rustige wijk Kamer is gedateerd
- Vazzana (10/5): Da rifare - Struttura centrale molto comoda ai servizi.
Personale accogliente e molto disponibile.
La consiglio.
- Mauro (7/5): Mwritata vacanza..
Ti puoi spostare a piedi facilmente. Va bene così.
- Giovanni (10/5): Comoda, bella, elegante, pulita, posizione strategica - Comoda, bella, elegante, pulita, posizione strategica

- Michele (9/5): Lovely stay! - The hotel changed owners from the time we booked to the time we arrived to stay. Gianluca, the onsite manager had been on the job 4 days when we arrived. He was wonderful and really worked hard to take care of a few issues right away. The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was also large by Italian standards. The location was wonderful. I loved the restaurants in the area of the hotel and we quickly found our favorite morning spot for coffee. I loved having a tea kettle in the room too. I'd definitely stay here again. Now that there are new owners I hope they take some time to refresh the bed pillows. They were very hard and flat. I also hope they add some sort of breakfast option. Even simple yogurt and croissant dropped off to the room in the morning would be nice. It's odd to have something called a B&B and not have breakfast.
- Cornwall (6/5): -
- Kathryn (2/5): - There was no running water in the sink or shower for most of our stay. There was also no one on staff at reception
- Klaus (8/5): - Lage sehr gut und zentral. Keine 10 Minuten zu Fuß zum Markusplatz. Zimmer sehr sauber. Im historischen Stil gehalten.
- Christiane (4/5): No thanks. - The room was clean. There was no staff present. In case of emergency, no one picked up the phone. The key stuck in the door and couldn't turn. I was locked in my room for ten minutes before I could open it. There was almost no water coming out of the shower. The windows went to a narrow street without no lights. The room was very dark. On the last day, no one was there to overlook my luggage until departure. Mattress was hard with only one thin sheet.

- Aanei (10/5): Very cosy, nice design, well located and the host was great as well. - The terrace was an absolute treat after busy and hot days. Also, it is located very well, far from the noise, yet close to all the attractions. Everything was great
- Jørn Bo (10/5): Wonderful familie run hotel. With excellent servic - Ca' Valeri is a wonderful little family-run hotel, beautifully located right in the center, yet tucked away in a completely quiet alley. So you're close to several major attractions, but can still sleep peacefully at night.
The hotel owners provided excellent service, were very attentive, and responded quickly to any questions we had before our arrival.
We stayed in room 406 on the top floor with a private balcony. The bedroom was decorated in a charming, classic Venetian style—very tasteful—while the bathroom had a modern design. Everything was spotlessly clean and inviting.
If we return to Venice, we will definitely book this place again :-)
- Armen (8/5): - Stuff very helpful
- Nils (8/5): Very good - We stayed in the room on the top floor with a balcony and it was lovely to be able to have a private place outside away from the crowds. We also got a magical view of the full moon from the bedroom window. The location is excellent if you want to stay slightly outside the busiest streets. The staff is also very friendly. The AC broke and didn't work for the two nights that we spent there. The staff were very apologetic and helpful by getting us a table fan which helped a lot.
- Jeroen (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): - Ca' Valeri was in a quiet alley but just a few minutes walk from all the major sites. The room was spacious and very clean. I would definitely come back.
- Jaclyn (8/5): Great stay, super comfy room and bed, fantastic staff. - Super comfy, wonderful staff, good location. Venetian black out shades are amazing. AC was great. Hot water. The staff was super nice and accommodating. Put a personal touch onto my experience. The bed was amazingly comfy. Cool Venetian decor. The bathroom was large. Hot water. Quiet location. Yet close enough for a 15 min walk to San Marco square. Personalized stay with great restaurant recommendations and discounts. Everything I wanted and needed. The shower was in a porcelain tub which was prone to being slippery when wet. I’d recommend a shower mat for guests to put down on the tub floor to prevent slipping. The shower head was supposed to be an above head rain simulator but it didn’t quite work well and then it kept dropping after so it was disturbing my sleep. Recommend replacing the shower head. I kept having to pump the toilet to make it flush. I know it’s an old building, not sure this is fixable as it just comes with old pipes and plumbing. Minor concerns which don’t outweigh my outstanding stay at this wonderful hotel with great personalized service. I’d recc whole heartedly. Totally worth the price of admission.
- Anne (8/5): A lovely stay in a pretty Hotel and received a wonderful welcome. - The location is ideal and the property was very homely. We had the ground floor room just off reception and it surprisingly very quiet. The bed was very comfortable. Everything you’d need for a long weekend visit. There was no air conditioning so it got very hot during the night and there was no TV reception
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
- Mia (10/5): Nice and quiet little hotel, perfectly located if you’re visiting the Biennale - On a quiet street near Campo Bandiera e Moro, a comfortable little hotel with very helpful staff. The room is spacious for Venetian hotels, has a nice bathroom with bathtub and coffee machine. Warmly recommend for a short stay. Close to everything but super quiet. -
- Julie (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (10/5): Fabulous hotel, great location & lovely host - The hotel was lovely, the room was comfortable & very clean. The location is great! Nothing! If you are a solo traveler expecting to meet others this isn’t the hotel for you, it’s small & no shared area apart from the courtyard.
- Gary (10/5): Friendly quite hotel - Wonderful stay at Cà Valeri.Ilaria our host was fantastic very friendly and would highly recommend, it’s so close to the waterfront and st Marco piazza . If you’re looking for a friendly hotel on a quiet alleyway this is your best option. 10-10 would recommend
- MARIA (10/5): - Not bad for Venice
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yaheya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - Charming small family-run hotel
We had a wonderful stay here. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the owner’s father, whose kindness set a positive tone for our entire trip. He shared insights about the city, Venice, and its residents, which we found delightful.
Our room was on the fourth floor; the climb was manageable for us. The bed was comfortable, and the blanket kept us warm. The toilet was a bit unusual—I’m on the shorter side, and my feet didn’t touch the floor—but it gave us a good laugh and wasn’t an issue.
The terrace offered beautiful views; even in December, we enjoyed stepping out to take in the surroundings. Overall, everything was great. Thank you very much for your hospitality ❤️❤️❤️
- Flavio (10/5): - Very nice the accomodation. Nice area
- Gabriel (10/5): All expectations surpassed - We can only reconfirm the many excellent reviews of Cà Valeri. Ilaria was an absolute delight, personable, flexible and most helpful in providing counsel on every aspect of our stay (restaurants etc). The location is quiet, yet excellent for both visitors to the Biennale and those wanting to visit the usual Venice attractions.
- Zivile (1/5): We came to the Venice Biennale and enjoyed it, but the overnight stay ruined the whole trip. - location The stay was completely disappointing. The room on the first floor is dark, stuffy, smelly, in need of repair, and full of mosquitoes. For the same price you get a great hotel in Venice. No more Casa's in life.
- Karinn (10/5): Exceptional - The owner is a wonderful person: Patient, kind, smart, and caring
- James Edward (10/5): - Fantastic service by the manager - highly recommend, great location too
- Jasmine (9/5): Superb -
- Claudio (8/5): Very good -
- Bia (9/5): Well-located house with Venetian charm and great staff - The house with 6 rooms is in a quiet location which is great for visiting both the Biennale and the city. It is 4 - 5 min walk from Arsenale vaporetto stop. A number of good restaurants around. Ilaria, the receptionist, is a realy really friendly and helpful lady. Nice Venetian-style decorated room, with several little extras. Very clean. The small patio on the groundfloor looked inviting (unfortunatelly the constant rainy and cold weather did not allow the use). Internet access in the room not the best, much better in the reception area. A desk in the room to put the laptop on would be really good, especially for the rainy days when one can't use the patio. The price is a bit high; it's Venice, true, but it's a room, not an apartment. Lack of breakfast options in the nearby area.
- Nancy (9/5): Superb - The staff was very helpful and communicative. Great location and we loved the little restaurants nearby
- Josephine (6/5): - It was nice. Clean enough though nothing spectacular, a little run down looking. Good shower. Overall would recommend
- Agarwal (8/5): Easy, convinient, efficient, satisfying, safe - The host was really kind and helpful and very prompt. The location was really really easy to find from arsanale stop. And in Venice to have this kind of ease to drag your suitcases is a gift. The location is also a very safe area to walk around. The property was really good actually. The only thing was when you left the window open for ventilation, you sometimes get the sewage tanks smell. I don’t know if this was a one time thing or an occurring problem
- Dan (10/5): - Perfect location. IIlacia the hostess was amazing. Friendly. Very helpful. Room is cozy and clean. Only downside was the 4 flights of stairs to walk up but it really was not that bad. Highly recommend.
- Lyudmila (8/5): Great budget hotel close to St Marco Square - Ilaria - the owner of the hotel is exceptional! She is very fast to reply, helped us to book a water taxi and generally dealt with all the queries in an efficient way. Rooms - I have stayed in two rooms - first in the only room downstairs - which was great. And on the last night I have upgraded to the room with a terrace on the 4th floor. The room with the terrace has the narrowest toilet I have ever seen! I'm an average build female, and I was really struggling to use it. I'm dreading to think how bigger people can use it. The terrace, on the other hand, was amazing. Overall, it's a very quiet small hotel. 10 mins walk from St Marco Square, great location. There is no lift and the stairs are quite narrow. So dragging my suitcase onto the 4th floor was a challenge! Very odd, very narrow toilet on the 4th floor. I could barely sit on it!
- Anita (9/5): Would definitely recommend x - Communication from owner was fantastic on the journey to hotel.
A lovely friendly welcome on arrival.
A wonderful two nights stay x Nothing
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - Our host, illaria was so friendly & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Communication was excellent. Great to have a fridge & air con. Nice little courtyard if you wanted outside space. Good location for St marks square, boats (about 10 min walk). Good choice of restaurants, cafes a supermarket nearby. Bed too firm for us but that's personal preference. Incorrect info on booking.com stated breakfast was included but had noted that from other reviews
- Clavier (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mai (9/5): Superb -
- Claudia (10/5): Exceptional -
- julie (10/5): - Parfait petit hôtel près de tout. Hôtes #1.
- Cedric (5/5): Passable -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jesus (9/5): Perfect place to a weekend with your couple - The host was Very gentle and willing to help and suggest.
- Gary (10/5): - The best thing about this property was our hostess Ilaria! She was friendly and accommodating. My sister and I shared a wonderful two day stay and would gladly return simply due to the friendliness of Ilaria. The building was wonderful and historic. I highly recommend for individuals and or couples looking to explore Venice!
- Maksis (9/5): Superb -
- Sofia (10/5): one week stay i Venice, excellent! - Strongly recommend this hotel! Nice location with close walking distances to everything including Vaporettos. Fantastic personel, very welcomming and helpful. Good service of the room, cleaning each day if you wanted to. If I return to Venice some day, I definitely will choose Ca' Valeri again! Thank you, Ilaria!
- Stagni (9/5): Superb -
- Alejandrosan3 (10/5): Lucky to have found ca' valeri for my working trip! - I went to La Biennale for work (IT area) and i was called last minute to attend. i was lucky enough to find this place which was simply perfect. it had a lovely vibe, very classic. it was in a perfect spot, i could save a lot of money and time because i could simply walk to work.
I had restaurants, a lovely fountain and a nice place to walk and visit (not that i could with my working hours) so it was definitely a good thing that i found this place (at an awesome price) It's not their fault (it's how things work in northern Italy), but there wasn't any A/C but instead heating which would be normal if it weren't for the super crazy weather we had, however i could simply open the window and problem solved.
- Bfeinberg (10/5): A great hotel in a stunning city - The hotel is excellent and pleasant. Simple and clean rooms. The person who greeted us at the reception was charming and helped us with recommendations, etc. The location is excellent, very close to Vaporetto Arsenale station. Close to the hotel there are cafes and nice places for breakfast and restaurants for other meals. Nothing
- Jas (10/5): Perfect first time in Venice - The location was great and convenient for the Art Biennale. Ilaria, the host, was super nice and caring. As it was my first time in Venice, she made sure I had a seamless experience and help with local bookings. Nothing, it was all positive
- Prokopios (6/5): Pleasant - Excellent location... very close to most important attractions.
Excellent hostess. Very small room without breakfast and expensive.
- Rory (10/5): - Kind and generous owner.. very helpful, very welcoming!
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - The hostess Ilaria was extremely welcoming, hospitable and helpful. The room was clean and charming with lovely old furniture in Venetian style. The location is perfect, slightly away from the crowded streets and at the same time relatively close to most of the main attractions. Wi-Fi disappeared from time to time. Everything else was great!
- Boyka (10/5): Highly recommended, the perfect place in Venice! - The host Ilaria was extremely kind and helpful, wrote to use before we arrived and provided any kind of assistant one can imagine. I also asked for an iron which Ilaria provided immediately.
The hotel and the room were great, very Venetian, the room was equipped with a coffee machine and free cofee, hot water electric kettle, etc. Bathroom was great also equipped with everything needed as described in the room description.
The location is perfect - just between the Venice biennale, which was our main point of interest, and the old center, san Marcus square, etc. - 10 min walk to each. In the same time, the location is quite and secluded. There are sweet shops, restaurants close by, and we had a 20% discount in the restaurant down the street, which was delicious.
Overall couldnt recommend more, would repeat gladly next time in Venice! Nothing, everything was great.
- Argyris (10/5): Excellent hotel and people - The bed was excellent
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Garstka (10/5): Exceptional - The host is very nice and helpful. Highly recommend
- Sharon (9/5): Superb - Ilaria was a very helpful and welcoming host, always with a smile on her face. Location of the property is within walking distance to all main attractions, eateries and vaporetto (Arsenale). The room was comfortable and clean. Spacious bathroom with amenities. Shower water pressure was weak and didn't have a shelf were to put the soap and shampoo. This property, like most properties in Venice does not have a lift.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Superb location, 5 min walk to Doges Palace. Nice and quiet, hosts were lovely. Nothing
- Steve (9/5): Superb - Ideal location, nice restaurants nearby, lovely staff very helpful Nothing
- Ian (10/5): A perfect two days!! - Perfect location…. Extremely comfortable and clean Nothing!!!
- Robyn (10/5): We had a beautiful stay here and found the staff super sweet and helpful :) loved having a private terrace too - Lovely decor, lovely and friendly staff and really good location - very clean Nothing to not like
- Alastair (7/5): Good -
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nezza (10/5): it was a lovely stay and i would definitely come again! - the room was great and comfy. the small courtyard was very cute and quiet after a long day of Biennale. the hostess was amazing! and the restaurant on the corner was also great. the coffee in the room made my day as well :) i was on the ground floor and quite dark with higher windows (so not able to directly look outside, which was perfect for me since i was there mainly in the evenings and out during the day, but that might be something to consider - the other rooms i haven't seen of course!
- Paria (7/5): Good -
- Christos (9/5): Superb - friendly and helpful host, very convenient location for walking around town but not too crowded. a bit more attention could be paid to the quality and style of the furniture.
- Yorgos (10/5): I strongly recommend it for a couple , and I'll make sure to book at Ca Valeri next time as well. - cozy room- nice, quiet location
the manager of the property, Ilaria,
always there to make sure we had all we needed,
a nice restaurant near by for breakfast and dinner, with a 20% discount because of Ilaria.
She was very helpful indeed!
- Voltnoi (8/5): Very good -
- Ines (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adleones (10/5): Bellissimo - Super friendly and helpful staff.
- Irina (10/5): Exceptional - Room was spacious, cozy and most important clean. It has A/C and tea/coffee set.
It is easy to go to airport by the blue line boat from thec hotel.
Friendly and nice owner are there to help and to recommend the best way to get around the city.
- Kerttu (10/5): Exceptional - Very cozy room with cookies on a table and water in a fridge. Although room was next to the reception, it was still very private and quiet. Very comfortable bed. Also A/C in a room. Perfect location, close to all sightseeing. In addition to this, Ilaria was so sweet and answered to all my questions. I will definately visit this hotel next time.
- Kelly (9/5): Superb -
- Skyfa (8/5): Very good - The private terrace, location, cleanliness were great! Ilaria is nice and answered any messages promptly. The price is a little expensive since breakfast is not included and there is just a small area to get glasses and dishes when needed, but otherwise it was a comfortable stay!
