• jolantag543 (2/5): Unpleasant experience, unhelpful staff. - We booked Savoy Hotel four months prior to our travel. Unfortunately, our flights were cancelled as the country went to a complete lockdown. We notified the hotel immediately asking for either a refund or a change of date. First they had been ignoring our emails then in a curt, unfriendly tone replied that pandemic is not their fault. Happily held on to our money. Totally unprofessional, unhelpful staff, taking advantage of people`s predicament. My advice, stay clear and warn others.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice lounge with pool table. Room was decent, but carpet was a bit dirty and no kettle provided. Daily cleaning was good.
• Mollieszomo (8/5): Good hotel, lovely helpful staff - Although we had problems with hot water or lack of it, we found the staff to be very helpful. A very reasonable hotel in an excellent position for access to the centre with many restaurants and bars in the area. Very vibrant up and coming neighbourhood.
• robertwE9723SQ (8/5): Great location in De Pijp - This hotel is in an excellent location for those who want a more authentic Amsterdam experience. Close proximity to trams and the metro to get to other parts of the city, but this hotel is easy walking distance to some of the best spots in Amsterdam. My third floor room was clean and had direct access to a rooftop open space. If you want to stay in De Pijp, this is a great option.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - We think as we booked with Expidia they gave us a rubbish room in the basement (being that we paid a cheap price), we booked a twin, it was set up as a double and we could not move the beds apart properly and they could not move us to another room at the time, so we ended up moving the beds into different parts of the room to make it work no ideal.The beds would probably work well as a double but there very small as singles , my friend fell out of bed and cut his head on the bin.There was no extractor fan working so the bathroom smelt damp.
• laurabdy (4/5): Very disappointing - Maybe it is just bad luck but we unexpectedly got a dirty bedroom for 2 that wasn’t faithful to the photos. It seems that the place was being renewed but still no satisfying services delivery for such a price.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location - tram stop to museums right in front. Clean but the bathroom sink had a huge crack - gouge really. There was no remote for the tv. We finally got one at the end of second day after asking several times - but tv was broken. Not nearly enough light in the room There was no treatment or mat for the shower bottom (tub) so it was very slippery. We had to use towels.
• Rita (8/5): Worth the trip - Surprised distance from centre 50 min walk but did make us use metro and tram .If stay more than 24 hrs buy pass for your stay cost 8eur 24 hour Number 12 tram takes 22 mins stops outside. We had upgrade and they kept out luggage at the beginning and end if our stay very pleased. Area Pijp very nice plenty of bars and eateries and a market with street food.
• M3823ZNdavidm (6/5): Good situation, kind staff, lack of mantenience - We consider it's a correct option to stay at Admsterdam with a reasonable (not cheap) price. The best could be the situation (not centric, but very close to tram amb metro stops) in a quiet residential area, the kindness of the staff and a lobby area with free coffee and water (where you can take your food). The worst is the lack of mantenience of the hotel, during our stay we could see some works, the cleaning could be better. We stayed with 2 little children and it's not a bad option, we could repeat in future
• Verified traveler (8/5): - Well this hotel is a tricky one, it's in the process of renovating so some features are great like the lobby area, the lounge. Staff is great, water bottles provided by the hotel is very nice, same for coffee and tea. The room is clean, it's a retro design so it's a fun experience, the room is old and a few things didn't work well, after pointing it out it was fixed, the room feels old but again an experience. I do not feel the price 110 euro being charge reflects the rooms, the experience in general, after the renovation i can understand.... One more thing, the room is big, mattress is top notch! Maybe for two ppl more space for clothes is needed, the hot water pressure is low at the 3rd floor, a slow shower or bath 😅. Location is great, 2km from center, a beautiful walk with many things along the way. All in all a decent experience👍. 🙏
• Claudia (10/5): - Great location-- more a taste of neighborhood Amsterdam then the touristy areas. All in all a nice little hotel. Only issue was air conditioner leaked some condensation when we first came in (damp patch). Will attribute that to the very abnormal hot spell that preceded our arrival. Staff was very nice. Would stay again.

• FoxOne123 (4/5): VERY Poor Hotel / Nice Staff - How this hotel can get away with calling itself a 4* is beyond me! Even TA’s & Booking.com’s rating of 3* is being extremely generous and misguided... I stayed here because it was close to the RAI (one of the two only good thing going for this hotel), as the other hotels (more well known brand/chain hotels) were either fully booked or way out of my travel allowance (double normal prices $$). What a huge mistake! Despite the efforts of the staff/housekeeping to maintain it, this place was falling apart. Carpets heavily stained, ceiling tiles rotten, mould in the bathroom, rusty tissue boxes, greasy hairdryer, bed sheets with holes, blood stained curtains, rotten smell throughout the hotel and broken light switches (which I don’t know how is not a safety hazard) are just to name a few of the issues! The replies to the ‘real’ comments below from the hotel states the “hotel is being renovated”... Well, that’s a joke (BS); during my short stay I did not see any form of renovation going on whatsoever, even when I asked the staff, they had no clue of any renovations due to take place... For the positive reviews below; were you blind? In the lobby area is a room to grab water and coffee, this room looked bearable and on the one occasion I used it, there were three other people in there, all were sharing the same horrors I was experiencing. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this place and would recommend anyone even thinking of staying to not! The only good thing to say is that the staff are wonderful, helpful and courteous. How they can work in that dingy, rotten place is beyond me! This hotel could be a great hotel, if only they revamped the entire place and invested in modern amenities! 2* at best and that’s because of the staff!
• Verified traveler (8/5): - generally very happy with the hotel and service. only 20 minutes walk to Van Gogh museum and very near to underground station. offer free coffee and tea which is great. staff very nice and friendly. room is comfortable and other guests of the hotel are quiet. only thing not good enough is the bathroom. at first the basin leak water but soon get repaired. the shower has no door so water splash everywhere and make the bathroom very wet.

• P6036YKandym (6/5): A reasonablebase to stay on a short visit to Amsterdam. - A reasonably priced hotel in a quiet area of the city. Both the hotel and the area felt quite safe in the day and at night. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel itself was warm, quiet and comfy and appeared well run. Room was clean and spacious. Good safe provided in the bedroom. Sadly no food available provided by the hotel, but plenty of local opportunities available. No drink making facilities in the room, but free /complimentary coffee and tea was available downstairs in the lounge. Hotel is right by tram stop that leads to the centre, so is well connected. We had a room on the first floor with views of the church out the back. The public areas of the hotel were fairly dimly lit and this added to a slight run down/ jaded feeling to the hotel, and there were some signs of wear and tear or stains on some carpets in the corridor - which is a shame as it does seem with a little positive investment and push the hotel could be a great place. Overall an average hotel that is suitable for a short stay or a good base when visiting Amsterdam and intending to spend a lot of time exploring the city and all it has to offer. Very close to the street market area - which is well worth a visit.

• PIMAR-oet (10/5): Nice clean hotel staff and owners are a big plus - Have stayed here in the past for business. Was a bad hotel. New owners that cleaned the place and gave it an upgrade. The staff is amazing. They helped me to book tickets. We had a beer on the friday evening in the lobby with a few of the owners. Very nice guys that clearly know what they are doing. Will come for next years event in the convention centre, for sure!
• PieterNijhuis (10/5): Nice hotel with friends! - Cool hotel with fun staff. Had a Nice time staying with friends in a 4person room. The area is Lively with A lot of bars and restaurants around the corner. Beds are great and the room was clean. We rented bikes at reception for 15€ A day.

• Sommr (2/5): - Bag was tampered with in Bag room and relabeled with another names, Tv in room did not work, Powerpoints on Desk did not work, staff could not fix tv and kept going and coming for an hour and refused to change the room so I could not rest, Roof in room was low enough to touch, curtains in room diid not close and people in street could see in to room and bed, no privacy curtain only blackout curtains (which didn't black out. ) Staff refused to compensate or provide any alternative option.for poor facilities.... "Manager is not here and I cant make any allowance......" Would not recommend based on my experience....

• MamaHolland1981 (2/5): Cheerless and disappointing - Dated, worn-out room in a cheerless basic hotel. 
Small double bed (1.20m), clean sheets, but a visibly stained mattress. The shower is terrible: the water pressure (3rd floor) is too low to be able to shower and the temperature either terribly hot or freezing. Others people's hairs were on the bath tub rim, the towels had a weird smell to them and the small mirror was broken/missing. Airconditioning could only heat and couldn’t be turned off, and 2 out of 3 coat hooks were missing. No coffee/tea facilities in the room and no breakfast. The receptionist said one could normally get a decent breakfast up the street, but he was uninformed whether anything would be open the next morning because of Boxing Day. Not the best of service if you neither offer breakfast nor know where to get some. Disappointing stay.

• Eaves1973 (8/5): Dont be put off by petty reviews - Stayed here with friends for 2 nights and I cannot fault the place or the staff , friendly and went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed , rooms were spotless as was the bathroom and probably the largest room weve ever had in Amsterdam , beds really comfy and in a great location near the new metro underground 12 euros for 2 days travel 2 min walk from the front door , will return here DONT LISTEN TO THE POOR REVIEWS .. thanks for a great stay Savoy .
• N740QMR (8/5): Good location, nice rooms, comfy bed!!! - Just arrive back from a 2 nights stay at the Savoy. Lovely little hotel, 2 mins walk to the Metro (2 day pass €12.50) which takes you straight to the centre. Hotel staff nice, rooms clean and beds very comfy.
• adrianene88 (2/5): Poor hotel - They market it as a 4 star hotel, but it is a max 1 star hotel. Very dirty rooms. After we checked in, we had to request a new room as room 210 was not inhabitable. Carpet was incredible dirty, curtains were stained bathroom floor was gross. Wouldn’t recommend.

• Carol (8/5): Savoy Hotel Brwak - Great price ..room small but clean for purpose of having a base and somewhere to sleep it was perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location very central tram stop just outsside and a short ride to tge centre of Amsterdam. Lots of good places to eat and drink on the doorstep.

• bugungunlerdenne (6/5): a night in savoy amsterdam - it was clean but the rooms are very small. The bath is more than 40years old without any amendments. It was a perfect location. It took 20 minutes from hotel to red light district and 10 minutes to museum street by walking.

• 662jessicaf (2/5): Visiting Amsterdam for work - After seeing my room I decided to check into another hotel. Room was really dirty and dark. Whole hotel felt neglected and unsafe. It is NOT a 4* hotel. There was nothing in that room you would expect from a 4* hotel. Admittedly I did not see the other rooms, mine may have been particularly bad. They had also shut down the kitchen so there was no option for breakfast. My advice would be to stay elsewhere, I found a lovely hotel at the same price to move to.

Also, the electricity of the bedside table was not working properly and when i moved it to reset the connection, it was very dirty behind. In general the hotel is ok, no noise, bed is comfortable, and there are many restaurants nearby.

• Geoff (4/5): - I arrived after 10 pm and was put into a sub standard basement room 012. It's nothing like the pictures of the other rooms on the site. No sound proofing. You hear the cars, trams, people walking past and talking. A truck unloading in the early hours to the hotel. Water from flushing toilets flowing through a pipe in the room. The hotel office was next to the room so when a lady went into the office at 5 am I heard her walking on the wooden floor and opening and shutting the door. Basically a terrible room, so if you get room 012 or maybe the other 2 rooms in the basement, 010 and 011, I would refuse to have them unless you are a sound sleeper. When I complained they staff ignored me and just looked at me. The nice lady in the breakfast room offered me a free breakfast. I'm sure the other rooms are lovely but be warned about the ones mentioned.
• Angelina (2/5): Terrible basement experience - My cousin and I arrived to the hotel and were told that the only room available was in the basement. We were reassured that it would be just like all other rooms except smaller windows. To our surprise the basement room was extremely filthy. There were water damage stains on the walls, no carpet on the floors and dead flies in the bathroom. The lights flickered and the one window was 1/4 the size of a regular window. The pictures looked nothing like the online advertised pictures. We went to ask the concierge for either a new room or a refund. She said they would not be able to provide a refund and the only room available was a single room. We chose to squeeze in a twin sized bed in order to not stay in the basement. The concierge was very rude and asked if we would stay in the basement if she cleaned up the dead flies. As two black women in Europe it felt like a very targeted experience. She would do anything to be sure that we would stay in the basement. I would not recommend that anyone stay here as multiple members of the staff seemed to have an attitude towards us and our request.

• Lyle (6/5): Double charged by hotels.com and Hotel Savoy - Checked into the hotel and it was in pretty decent condition, we had a comfortable 3 person room. However they never made up our room the next day when we left the room at 1:00 PM and returned in the evening. When we checked out he told us that i had to pay there for the hotel and that it didnt matter if i already made payment through Hotels.com. They said i would be reimbursed, and now I am sitting with 2 separate charges on my credit card. Will try and get sorted with hotels.com, hotel savoy seemed liked a bunch of crooks to me.

• Pedro (8/5): Satisfactory stay. - Hotel couldn't be safer as neighbours with police. It's yards away from 12 tram which is very handy. Didn't use breakfast. Area is not too noisy. Not sure about the 4 stars. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room had DVD player, mini fridge but no coffee facility. Would stay again.

The pillows and blankets were stinky, and the room was not properly cleaned. Did not try food. The staff was nice and helpful, the location is amazing, for a short stay (at a discounted price) it's a good deal.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Never again - I spent the night of the 18th of October in room 111. Found a fake woman's nail underneath the bed and then woke up covered in flea bites. It is not acceptable. I would really appreciate to receive apologies from the hotel and a full refund as soon as possible because the hotel provided a room that doesn't comply with basic health and safety regulations. I am absolutely disgusted.

• Crescent (2/5): Noisy, smelly basement room - I've been traveling extensively for 27 years, and this must be one of the 3 worst experiences I've had in that time. The room smelled of mold and mildew (see photo). The next-door neighbors smoked pot and talked loudly till 3 am. Nothing would stop them, not even the night manager coming down. They were SO high. The equipment failed to work (phone, lamps, wi-fi). After 2 nights, they changed me to a room on the 2nd floor that was better. Avoid the basement rooms!

• Neil (8/5): Great hotel for De Pipj - Great location in De Pipj. Hotel ok for price but would book earlier if paying the same for a better hotel. Bathroom could have been cleaner but just being a bit picky
• Janine (8/5): Perfect Location! - I really wanted to give this place a 5 star, however the air conditioner did not work and when I reported the issue I was told that it probably wouldn't be fixed prior to my departure. The location was so convenient which allowed me to walk to almost everywhere. Beautiful city and hotel!
• Steve (10/5): Much better than expected - The reviews on the Savoy were pretty mixed with some terrible ratings. My room was clean, nice shower, comfortable bed. Was very pleased with accommodations and would happily stay here again. It's a bit of a walk to the city center but team is close and you gain a quiet environment and some nice restaurants in the area.
• Michel (6/5): No where near a four star hotel standard - Staff very friendly. Average breakfast. Weather was hot and the A/C did not cool at all. Slippers not provided. Old towels. Bathroom had no amenities whatsoever apart from the liquid soap dispensers. Outdated room décor and furniture.

(8/5): Short trip to Amsterdam - The room and the bathroom where really very clean and nice, only on my bed, there was a bloodstain on the mattress and only a very thin bed linen to cover it up (but you could see it shining through). That's why I can't give 5 Points for room cleanliness. But apart from that everything was great.

• hina m. (10/5): Nice weekend getaway - Hotel was close to central Amsterdam. Staff were very friendly. On the first night out window didn't open, they upgraded us to a room that same day.
• Traveler (6/5): Hotel on a walking distance to RAI - We check in in the late afternoon after RAI exhibition was closed. When arrive, a person on a reception give us two rooms and charge city tax. But... we got one room on the first floor which was OK but another room was in the basement. We been told that that was last two room they have. This second room was rather smelly and we could not open the small window because it was bellow street level and all the dirt from a windy street will end in our room through metal bars. Both toilets was without any amenities except liquid soap. Luckily we had to sleep there only for one night. Breakfast was fine which was a surprise since we thought that it is not included in the room price.

• Rob (6/5): Clean and pleasant but very cold - Room was clean and the hotel was well located. Beds were comfortable, but experience spoilt by no heating. Staff courteous enough, with good English, but a little abrupt. Wouldn't rate it 4 star!
• JohnnyB (8/5): Awesome family trip - Nice clean friendly hotel in good location. Brilliant short break with family seeing all the sights of Amsterdam & sampling the merchandise. Well worth a visit. Would highly recommend. Had the best time loved every minute only downfall was massive queue at Anne Frank's museum.
• Ian p. (6/5): frequent traveler. - It took 2 days to fix faulty room safe. No remote for TV. No soap or body wash in Despencer. Paid extra for breakfast - which I only bothered to have once as it was horrible. Nice location and very easy to get to centre and museums.
• Joe (8/5): Convenient hotel in the Pijp - If you do not need extravagance in your lodging, then this is the place for hotel simplicity in the Pijp. Unique room layout but bathroom was unusual with an all in one design and a concrete floor.
• AD23 (8/5): Does the job - Our hotel experience at Hotel Savoy was good. Staff were friendly and helpful, the beds were comfy and the location is walkable from the city centre if you don't mind walking. Tea/coffee facilities in the room would have been better and a stronger wifi connection.

• Daniel (10/5): A comfortable and very well-run hotel - It was a most enjoyable stay in this comfortable and admirably clean hotel. The staff at reception were friendly and exceptionally helpful. At such good value for money, one has to accept that rooms are not particularly spacious, but that is to be expected. I would recommend it to anyone.
• Stuart (6/5): Average - Room was clean and staff are friendly. However, the street outside was quite noisy and there is no way to turn the extractor fan off in the bathroom. What the heck is up with that? Needless to say it wasn't the best night sleep. Had I not smoked a lot of grass then it would have been a lot worse. Stayed in better places than this, so would go somewhere else next time.
• Brendon F. (8/5): Great city escape - The hotel is located south of the city. We stayed for 3 nights and found the location to be perfect with a great supermarket over the road and a simple walk/cycle north to the attractions. The hotel room was clean and very comfortable and the thick curtains let no light in the room so overall a perfect nights sleep every night. If you have the option I would not bother with the breakfast option, save your money and go for the bakery about 5 mins north of hotel. The cooked food was luke warm each day but they did have other items which are the same anywhere you go.
• Norman (10/5): 48 hours in Amsterdam - I was in the city for a short two days vacation. The hotel was very nice and the staff was awesome. The hotel is just far enough outside the city center to make it quite at night. I would definitely stay here again in the future. Also if you're a fan of beer like I am, the Troost Brewery is one hundred yards from the hotel entrance with really great beer and food.

• suenogo (6/5): Not what you expect for a "4 Star Hotel" - We tried the Expedia "mystery hotel" selection where you let Expecia pick a "4 star " quality hotel for you within a given location. The Savoy is not a bad hotel, but it certainly is not a 3.5 or 4 star hotel. I could have found a better quality hotel at the same price on my own. We tried this "mystery deal" and will never do it again. We paid too much for the quality of room we received. The hotel is decent and located about a 15 minute walk from Singel Canal. There is a lot to see and eat in this area. We enjoyed Le Pain Quotidien, a great breakfast, lunch place a block from the Savoy. The Savoy beds sheets were clean, the towels were adequate thickness, the carpets had stains in the room, but were vacuumed and clean. Would I go back to the Savoy? No. There are better deals.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Not a bad location - We booked this hotel as a mystery hotel, 4 star and in the canal area. The hotel is not a four star, rooms so small you did not have room to even put bags on floor. Beds were comfortable but you had no room to walk around beds. TV did not work, mould in shower area. Location was ok, some really nice cafe's. Tram stop near by. Staff at hotel very very helpful.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Ok hotel but nothing more - Small but adequate double room. Minor problem with cleaner throwing away some flight earplugs for no good reason. Previous occupants coke can and mouldy spoon just at edge of bed & no shower gel etc in dispenser. Beds quite comfortable. Location was a little out of town but some really good bars & food options in the area; with the benefit of not being aimed at central station area tourist crowd.

• Ash (10/5): Perfect hotel - Stayed 3 nights can't complain about anything! Room was spotless TV channels ok. Beds comfy. Always hot water
• Sunny (8/5): Simple practical hotel, no frills - I was in Amsterdam for a very short trip (2 nights) and found the hotel to be simple and lovely. I did not have breakfast there as it was overpriced and there is a Le Pain Quotidien a couple of minutes away.

• Utku (8/5): Nice and confy - Stayed there with my friends and i would highly recommend Savoy Hotel Amsterdam. It is not very near to the centre but nice, clean and helpfull stuff
