Guest Reviews
- Dante (10/5): Highly recommended. - It was a great stay. Rudi was an excellent host.
The place is right across the Vatican Museum, St.Peter's Basilica is just a 5-minute walk and St. Michael's castle a 10-minute walk.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel pulito ed economico - Sistemazione comoda, pulita. Ottimo prezzo. Personale gentile. Posizione di fronte i Musei Vaticani, a due passi da i mezzi pubblici con cui raggiungere facilmente qualsiasi destinazione.
- David M (8/5): Fantastic Location! - Just across the road from the Vatican Museum, plenty of local restaurants and a fresh fish and fruit market within 100 metres! We only used the subway once, if you are reasonably fit the Colosseum is within walking distance. This must be one of the best locations in Rome!
The room is an ok size with a window to the side, so not much traffic noise, however I suspect to the room with a front facing window may not be so good. Having use of the kitchen was a big bonus for us. The bed was not too comfortable and the fitted sheet unsatisfactory. The shower in the ensuite is not very good either. The temperature in the room seemed to vary between chilly and cool, but late January can be chilly anyway.
Overall, at less than 45 Euros per night including the 6 Euro per night City tax, this hotel is good value
- Michele (6/5): Struttura economica. Migliorabili gli ambienti. - Esperienza discreta. Ambienti della struttura migliorabili: c'è molta umidità. Prezzo molto conveniente.
- Jonathan (8/5): - Como en tu propia casa.
- Joan (10/5): Close location to the Vatican - Rudy, the host is most kind and accommodating - make me feel very much at home. Upon my arrival, he gave me a map and his business card with all the information. He showed me how to get around - go to the Vatican Museum, which is just across the street, and the St. Peter's Basilica. And also, recommended restaurants and supermarket nearby.
- PJ (10/5): Great service and location to all the sites. - Thank you to the owner for helping me so much. Grazie!
- anne (6/5): ideal location for visiting Vatican. - owner very helpful. location ideal for our trip. bus, metro service nearby ,many restaurants, lovely ice cream.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I'm disappointed ,everything horrible...bed breakfasts...
- LINDA C (8/5): cheap basic great location - We missed our flight to Rome from Auckland.I was impressed that the owner still kept in touch with us during this stressful time.Without his knowledge we would not have covered most tourist destinations in one day by foot.He was able to tell us where to go.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - per una notte va bene
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The location of this place is excellent. It literally takes less than 5 minutes to walk to the entrance of Vatican Museum, and 10 minutes to the Vatican city itself. Streets were safeas they were full of cameras and security guards around the walls of Vatican. The room itself was okay; if you like everything to its simplest, this hotel would suit your needs. I was concerned when the hotel made you pay in cash as well as not taking the photocopy of passport which took place in other hotels. The kitchen is always open to use, and there are many cafes and restaurants as well as supermarkets nearby.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excelente estancia en el hotel y muy amable el personal
- Emerald (8/5): Good for short stays - This is a nice hotel, but it is very basic so it's probably best suited as s base camp or for short stays. It's clean, and has a bed, TV, private bathroom , etc. It's generally clean and well managed. There's access to the kitchen all day if you want to prepare food or make a cup of tea.
The owner is incredibly helpful. He speaks good English, (which is great if you don't speak Italian like me) and will make your stay as smooth as possible. He does genuinely care about his guests.
If you want to see anything located in Vatican City then this hotel is in a great spot. It's facing the museum, (if you want to visit try to get in for about 15:50 because the queue will have subsided by then), and a short walk from St. Peter's Square and the Vatican.
I would recommend this hotel, but I think it would suit younger people more as it is lacking in a few comforts which some people might want.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ottima posizione, padrone di casa gentile e molto disponibile camera confortevole da consigliare senza dubbio
- Verified traveler (10/5): Vatican delight - This B&B is located across the street from the Vatcan museum and 5 minutes from St. Peter's Square, making it ideal if you want to spend time at the Vatcan. 7 minutes from the Metro in case you want to see Rome.
The owner (Rudi) gave us a map and showed us how to get around Rome.
It was clean and cute.
- gene (8/5): stay - Owner couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Location to Vatican the best
- Retired couple (6/5): Was okay. - Location is excellent, owner is very friendly and helpful, but facility is in need of maintenance and some upgrading.
- Keith & Debbie (10/5): Great experience at this B&B. - This B&B was was extremely nice and had a great location. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything we needed or wanted was supplied. But the best part of the whole experience was all the extras Rudi did for us. He went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of in every way possible. He helped us plan our way around, and made sure we knew where we were going. He advised us on do's and don'ts while in Rome. He made sure that we enjoyed our stay and had a great time. He was absolutely the greatest host. If we ever travel to Rome in the future, we would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A lovely B&B - would recommend - Really enjoyed our stay at B&B Vatican Museum.
Rudi and Claudia were lovely hosts, setting us up with maps and advice, and helping with questions we had.
The room and bathroom were clean and lovely. The premises felt very safe and secure.
We really appreciated having access to a well-equipped kitchen, stocked with everyday essentials.
The location is great - literally across the road from the Vatican Museums. You can very easily walk to other parts of Rome, or they are accessible with convenient public transport.
Overall, a lovely stay in Rome.
- DRAGANA MNE (10/5): Great location & staff - YOU WILL FEEL LIKE HOME! - One of the most important thing to us, while staying, was to have accomodation on a good location and this B&B met this request in total! Eith a location right across entrance to Musei Vaticani, we could easily reach almost all places we wanted to visit by foot.
Room cleanliness was also on a high level - room was being vleaned every day.
Even though at the begining we didn't think it will be that important, room has a shared kitchen. At arrival Rudi (owner of B&B) suggested how we can use it, pointed at couple of close-by supermarkets and explained the benefit. I must say that this was the most useful and money-saving advice!
Last but not least, the staff! Rudi was great - he waited for us, helped us with upfront prepared map, fast-info and small advices. As I wrote in the titel - we felt like home! For those travelers who find this important - this B&B is no1 in Rome.
Thanks Rudi! Boka and I are sending greetings from Montenegro to Ana, Claudia and you....
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent location - With a supermarket a block or so away, we supplemented our breakfast with procuitto and cheese, etc. The host was very gracious and helpful. The B and B is located just across the street from the entrance to the Vatican Museum, convenient to metro (4 blocks) and buses (2 blocks). The room itself was very comfortable.
- Lee (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Rudi and his family were brilliant. When we got there he got a map out and told us the places to go for food and tips on travel. There was food refilled every morning, given your own keys to come and go. Doesn't look the best from outside but very secure.
- DAVID (8/5): Recommended - Very friendly and helpful host. We were comfortable and enjoyed our stay there. If we have a chance to return to Rome I would stay there again.
The hotel is opposite the Vatican Museum, walking distance to shops and restaurants.
- Janine (6/5): Satisfactory Stay - The B&B was in a great location. Rudy was a delightful host. I was very concerned that he did not ask for a photocopy of our passports to register the tax and that he requested cash for the payment of the room. Every other accomadation requested passport and card payment. I would stay again if ever in Rome.
- nigel (10/5): Perfect stay - This is the Perfect Place to stay in Rome!!!!!
The Owner is the nicest man ever
After we made our reservation online he called us while we were still in the US
He speaks Good English and gave us directions as to how to get to his Bed and Breakfeast.
He was waiting on us on the walkway just outside to welcome us.
He had a map ready for us and a list of recommended restaurants
The Location is Perfect in close proximity to the main attractions and the metro
It is Literally across the street from the Vatican Museum.
The room is simple and clean and has a private bathroom.
He provides water and snacks.
We would definitely stay here Again!!!
- Bella Bionda (8/5): great location - Me and my daughter enjoyed the helpful service of the owner, giving us a map with tips for bus and metro-use and even recommended restaurants. The use of the kitchen was very helpful to prepare sandwiches for the day. A supermarket is around the corner. The negative things were the very soft matress of the bed, the mould in the corners of the room and bathroom, the loud noise of the water filling system of the toilet. But the location is worth coping with is for a short time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good location to Vatican Museum - Very kind staff telling us about everything about Rome city, convenient breakfast, and spacious room.
- Chloe (10/5): Lovely stay in a lovely B&B - We had an absolute amazing time, Rudi and his wife welcomed us in the B&B with open hearts and gave the absolute best advice about activities in Rome, good restaurants, transports etc. The room was great and so reasonably priced for high season in Rome, every single day we found it cleaned very nicely. The kitchen was great, the fridge and the cupboard full of useful products refilled everyday. The location was great. In short I would recommend it to anyone whom is going to Rome.
- MKHagler (10/5): LOVED THIS B&B!!!! - I LOVED this B&B!! While the bedroom and bathroom were on the smaller side, I wasn't staying there to enjoy the room, I was staying there to see and enjoy Rome. I have never had a more delightful stay at any hotel that I have stayed at in my life. Rudi was very hospitable, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the location excellent! This B&B is located directly across from the Vatican Museum, which extremely convenient. The breakfast provided was pastries and yogurts as well as milk juice and a selection of jellies to go along with the loaf of bread provided. While simple, it was most definitely good. I had free access to a very clean and well organized kitchen. And don't be concerned about the noise associated with being directly across the street from the Vatican Museum because I didn't really hear anything.
I only had one problem while staying here and it wasn't Rudi's fault, it was the fault of Hotels.com. Rudi only takes cash and your credit card is only used to reserve your room. This information should have v een listed, but due to some error on Hotels.com, it was not. At first Rudi assumed that I just didn't see it on his B&B's page but then I showed him all my emails and his page, and he was upset simply because it was an inconvenience for ME to have to find a way to get the cash.
In my opinion, the best review one can give regarding a hotel, is to say that if I was ever in Rome again, this is where I would stay. So I recommend to anyone and everyone considering staying here to do so because you won't regret it. Rudy likes to say you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend, and I completely agree.
- Alan (8/5): Incredible time and an incredible owner. - Stayed at the b&b for 6 days. Used the rooms, and the place is very cute. Used the kitchen everyday, and are given snacks, water, yogert, juice, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. All included. Beautiful area right in front Vatican entrance. The owner is by far the reason you want to stay. He is an incredible guy who makes sure he takes full care of everything for you, and can help you out with any questions about your visit to Rome. His wife is wonderful and the room was always clean and cozy. He is a gem in the Rome area, and you will not find a better suitor for what you need for your trip. I had a blast, and being at this hotel was the perfect balance to that.
- FRANK (10/5): 200 feet away from vatican musuem - ONLY TWO ROOMS FOR THIS BED AND BREAKFAST BUT WHAT A DEAL ! FREE BREAKFAST (FULL KITCHEN WITH YOGURT ,BREAD BUTTER JELLY MUFFINS ROLLS ORANGE & APPLE JUICE TEA COFFEE , CUPCAKES ) 10 STEPS FROM STREET TO YOUR ROOM WITH PRIVATE BATH . RIGHT ON BUS LINE ; 3 BLOCKS TO METRO TRAIN ; OWNER HAS CONTACTS FOR DISCOUNTED FARES TO AIRPORT AND CRUISE SEAPORT
- HUD (8/5): Convenient, clean, helpful and value - Very helpful with recommendations for eating and sites, times and dates. Extremely convenient to Vatican and great value for price.
- Kay (10/5): So welcoming and brilliant location - Rudi and claudia were most welcoming, providing a lovely breakfast and excellent guidance regarding safety, buses, where to eat etc.. I will definitely return to here as it felt like home. Less than one minute walk from Vatican City.
- Rachael (8/5): Lovely owner, nice location, screaming baby - This is a charming little hotel - excellent for the price. Rudi, the owner, is a great source of information and incredibly kind. The hotel is clean, access to the kitchen (complete with breakfast, yoghurt, juice, and coffee anytime of day) is great. Location is fantastic for touring Vatican City and buses/metro give really easy access to downtown. Normal amount of street noise for Rome. Fair warning for the downsides however - the owner and wife live in the hotel with an incredibly loud, fussy 9 month old baby. We could hear the baby through the thin walls every time it cried at night . . . and this baby cries incessantly and louder than ear plugs can block out. Once the child has grown out of screaming, this will be an excellent place to stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel close to the Vatican City - Experience was great loved how close we were to Vatican City area
- Robert (8/5): Vatican Bed and Breakfast - The room is a bit dated, could use a fresh coat of paint, but that is my only minus mark. The hotel owner was very accomadating and very helpful on site to see and places to eat. A++++.
100 paves from the Vatican Museum.
- Jack (10/5): Outstanding Service - Rudi the owner was more than helpful. He met us at the time we requested, and was able to give us many local tips and places to see. Our next stop was Pompei and he gave us detailed instructions of where to go and what to look out for. The fridge and cupboards were stocked and were free for us to use. He gave us his personal mobile number incase we ran into any trouble, or had any questions, and welcomed us to call him later in our trip. The B&B itself was better than described, facilities were brilliant (free flowing showers etc) and very clean. One of the best places we have stayed on our 3 Month eurotrip. Location is great for vatican City, as the B&B is directly across the road from Vatican Museum. highly reccommend staying with Rudi, you will not be disappointed at all
- claire (10/5): good location - Very welcoming staff and good location
- Jhen (10/5): Excellent stay!!!! - Excellent!!!! Thank you very much Rudi and Claudia for giving us all that we need and information. My family is planning to visit at ROME too and will recommend this hotel for sure. Thanks again!!!!
- Travis (8/5): Very good location, very small bedroom - Overall the stay was fine. The location was great, it really is directly across the street from the Vatican Museum entrance. However, the traffic never stops on the road and the bedroom window that we had was on the street and people were driving by at all hours of the night. The service and attentiveness we received were fantastic. Thank you! The food was good and plenty of it, more than we could eat even. A note for others, the Museum is free on Sundays, however the line gets REALLY long quickly so get up early if you want to get in. Good place, I recommend it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Like a second home! - Vatican Museum is like a second home. If you don't like the cold environment of a regular hotel and would prefer a cosy place like a second home, this is the right place for you.
The owners, Rudy and Claudia are extremely likable. They give you the keys, teach you how to prepare your breakfast / cook, sit with you to talk about Rome and things to see and leave you alone to enjoy Rome.
The breakfast is simple, but it's the way they have breakfast in Italy. Some fruits, Italian small cakes, coffee and milk.
The location is fantastic! Get off the metro at the Otaviano station and follow the signs to the Vatican Museum. It's exactly on the on the opposite side of the street.
I'd definitely stay there again!
- Andrew (10/5): Vatican Museum B&B - Vatican Museum, Rome - Excellent B&B, would highly reccomend.
Rooms are simple but spacious and immaculately clean. Safes available which is really good.
Kitchen is well stocked and the breakfast and food is brilliant, a really good point, and the B&B owners are really helpful. Great value for money and would definitely reccomend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location - extremely friendly and helpful hosts, great location right across the street from the vatican museum, near the metro, very clean, simple breakfast of yogurt, juice and toast. The one negative thing is very loud street noise from outside.
- Lisa (10/5): Wonderful Stay! - Great couple - very helpful with everything- super location!
- Hannah (10/5): A great place to stay - The B&B was run by a very nice couple- they were extremely helpful! The room was very comfortable, clean and in a fantastic location - right opposite the Vatican Museum!
- Kelly (10/5): Will make a point to stay here whe I go back to Rome - A young couple runs the Bed and Breakfast. It is clean, quiet and comfortable. They gave us pointers and suggestuions which optimized our time in Rome. Location is right in front of the Vatican museum. Can't get much closer. Will be sure to stay here again, great value for your money.
