Guest Reviews
- Christine (10/5): - Nice and helpful staff. Nicely appointed. Clean. Has a medieval feel with high ceilings, large doors, and frescoes ceiling - good feel for what historical Naples is like - mix of modern and antiquity. Conveniently located - short walk to Archeological Museum. Metro Station, Piazza Bellini and Piazza Dante and two Metro stops to Via Toledo Shopping area and Spanish Quarter. I would stay there again.
- Susan (10/5): - An updated B&B in a central location in the historic section of Naples close by the Archeological Museum. Very clean and quiet. Plenty of hot water. The host was very helpful in securing a taxi for us for an early morning airport departure.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This is a rather small place located in the backyard so it takes some effort to find it. I was contacted by the manager beforehand to arrange a concrete check-in time as there is no 24 hour reception. That worked out perfectly. Rooms were clean and have very high ceilings. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast is provided by a cafe across the street - one coffee, one juice, and one croissant. The really unpleasant surprise was that shampoo and shower gel are provided as part of a welcome kit and are not replenished although the cleaning is done daily. When I sent an ironic joke to the manager he called me rude. Hardly a professional attitude. Although wifi is usually available, the cell phone coverage in rooms is nearly absent due to thick walls. If you happen to stay on the New Year's Eve, you have a chance to get a small bottle of prosecco.
- Pam (6/5): Okay if you don't like windows - Good news is that the property is clean and quiet, although there are no services. The bad news is that there are no windows so it feels like being in a cave and the air conditioner moves air around but doesn't really cool anything so it's hot and stuffy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - love the room and quietness
- Phil (6/5): - First of all there are other Belle Arti locations so some of the reviews and pictures online are wrong. The location is great for tourism in the old town. The staff were friendly enough but we had to wait 10 minutes when we arrived for someone to appear and it is not a good way to start. The 2 superior rooms we reserved had great 19th C ornate ceilings but the facilities were also a bit yesteryear. The very cramped shower ran out of hot water after one of us washed their hair. There was not enough light over the basin to shave effectively. The bed was very hard and the pillows were synthetic and lumpy. The ‘antique’ chairs were too low and uncomfortable to sit in.
- Tim (8/5): - Very nice spacious room with a good breakfast included. Only negative for us was that the bed mattress was very hard but at least it was better than being too soft.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel smells nice, until you get into the rooms, which smell like stale old cigarette smoke and musty. Air conditioner was out and it was super hot and humid, so we were moved to their sister hotel down the road. Our room smelt of sewage in that hotel, but at least we had air con. Both hotels in a central location to explore Naples. I'd say they're at most 3* hotels, very basic.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not worth it - The wifi never worked and was a joke. There was the additional problem of the walls being to thick to get service. The fridge in the rm did not work and the hairdryer did not get hot. I wouldn't stay here again. Pay a little more and get a nicer place. Naples was sketchy and dirty in general. No one spoke english.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautifully renovated rooms in a great & central location. Management was very accommodating, and even took care to book as taxi service for a very early flight out. Terrifically priced given the location + very nice rooms
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Cold room, temperature could not be adjusted. No extra blanket.
- David (10/5): Great hotel. - This was an excellent hotel right in the university and bookshop centre of town. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- Stuart (8/5): Service with a personal touch - Service with a personal touch. The staff were helpful on arrival and the parking service was well organised, worth the money to have a safe parking spot in Napoli.
- Amy (8/5): Gem of a place - Don't let the front door entrance put you off! I thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life on arrival. It looked like a dungeon door! But once inside, the room had all the modern amenities of a 4*hotel except for coffee/tea maker-kettle. The location was incredibly close to everything and that was a super bonus for good food and cultural experience via food and flea markets to buy all you need. Breakfast is simple enough to start your day off and rooms are cleaned daily. My one complaint was that there was absolutely no phone reception my entire stay but I didn't mind because I had wifi. On the last day tho, the wifi didn't work and the guy fixed that in under an hr. Great service! Please note there is no one at the reception so you are advised to indicate your arrival time to facilitate this. Just for the experience!
- Jen8888 (8/5): Late check in - The room was good and breakfast in the morning was great. The trouble I had with the hotel is that the reception is open during very limited times. We had a late flight and waited quite a while for someone to come check us in. Our bags could not be left at the hotel after check out, but we were able to leave them at another nearby hotel.
- xzyph (10/5): A Great Hotel - The Belle Arti is located near the old city, only a short walk to many restaurants, and only a block and one-half from the Archeological Museum and city subway. It is located in an old building that has modernized interiors and good security. Our room had a twenty-foot ceiling and a modern bath, with a sofa in the entrance hall. Breakfast is ordered the night before and is served in the room. The only drawback is that it is on the first floor (not ground floor) and there is no elevator. The staff, however, does carry the luggage up to the room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Could so with a refresh - The staff were very friendly and helpful and good location. Our room could have done with a bit of a refresh and a better clean in the bathroom, but ok really. We did ask for a quite room but expect we had the noisiest one as overlooking a very busy road, once we closed the windows was fine with very good double glazing. We also asked for a non smoking room, but ours smelt of cigarettes and the quilt cover had a cigarette burn in it! The breakfast bought to the room left a lot to be desired as given tepid water for tea/coffee, all they would need is a kettle but water is heated in a microwave and guess they are worried about it getting too hot?! I did ask for a gluten free breakfast and this was supplied which was good of them. Overall a nice enough hotel.
- Patrick (10/5): Perfect - well located, awesome pool, good value (except the poolside restaurant), friendly and helpful staff, stunning views, very quiet and comfortable beds..
Perfect for a not crazily expensive romantic long weekend.
- robert (4/5): expected more... - beautiful room, non-responsive service. not geared for english speaking clients
