• 194xenias (10/5): Wow, wow and wow! - We stayed four nights at The Zillers in the heart of Athens, and the experience was truly outstanding. Every staff member we met was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the start. Breakfast was wonderful, with a great menu to choose from, and dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant was absolutely top-notch. We arrived with modest expectations and left completely stunned. • sandyboy15 (10/5): A great Athens location and boutique hotel experience - Cute boutique hotel with a cool design vibe, the room we booked was interior (windows opened to an interior courtyard) and very quiet, good bathroom although not super private if you are sharing and not a couple. Because of a special occasion we were upgraded to an Acropolis view room which was bigger and faced onto the main street but no night time noise issues. Also enjoyed the included breakfast in the rooftop restaurant. Hotel team super helpful. Very good location for walking in Athens. Would definitely recommend/stay again.

The hotel was within a 20-minute walking distance of anything that we wanted to do in Athens (Acropolis, Olympic Stadium, all nice shopping and dining areas, etc.). Taxis were easy to find, and the staff coordinated most taxis for us. Easy metro ride from the airport. Easy taxi to the port for our cruise. We would stay here again any time that we come to Athens.

• 200janicev (10/5): The Perfect Spot - We loved our stay at Zillers! It is a little gem in the heart of Athens. The staff was incredibly warm and helpful, including arranging our car service and a private tour of the Acropolis with their trusted guide before our arrival. The property itself is lovely and within walking distance to anything you would want to see. The breakfasts were delicious, but the highlight of our stay was dinner at the rooftop restaurant. Absolutely spectacular food and a breathtaking view of the Acropolis.

We did a 3 week trip going to different places in Greece and Italy and every hotel has been great, but the staff at the Zillers was the best out of all of them. We also got an upgraded room for free just because it was available. I highly recommend this hotel. And if you want to do fine dining, the Michelin Star restaurant located at the hotel was superb! Amazing views and an amazing staff at the restaurant.

• leselizlong (4/5): Disappointing stay and not what we expected. - I booked this hotel after reading generally positive reviews and was very disappointed. I’ll first say that the staff is extremely nice, meaning those who work at the front desk. And if you want a location in the thick of the tourist madness, this is the place. It’s close to the Acropolis for taking a tour (highly recommend Athens Waking Tours for this!) and across the street from a pretty cathedral. Many reviewers complained about the regular ringing of the cathedral bells, but that was one thing that didn’t bother us. Back to the hotel. Without any public spaces, it doesn’t really seem like a hotel but more like an air bnb with a hard-to-find single door on the street. Once inside, there’s stairs leading to a tiny reception desk without even a chair. So there’s no lobby to speak of. There’s a rooftop restaurant with a gorgeous view of the Acropolis but it only offers a tasting menu of 11 courses or more which isn’t your everyday fare. We were in a rush to meet a walking tour one morning and alerted the restaurant the night before that we’d be there at 7:30 and had to leave before 8. We even pre-ordered a simple breakfast just to be sure. We arrived early to find one server who seemed overwhelmed getting room service orders ready before our breakfast and kept apologizing, saying she was the only one working. There was no one else there but us. Our food arrived minutes before we had to eat in minutes and run out of there, worried we’d be late when we did everything we could to avoid this. We’d first booked a room without a Parthenon view but were “upgraded.” Yes, there was a view but the room was a feng shui nightmare with a ledge/step right in the middle of the room, next to the bed, so we were always worried about tripping in the dark. The room itself was cramped and the furniture was unremarkable. They had nice Korres products in the bathroom. It was very hot in Athens and the room’s air conditioning unit was loud and fairly ineffective. It clanked all night and woke us up several times in addition to barely cooling the room. Seemed to be a very old unit. On top of all of this, the room was not inexpensive.
• V8047XClaurab (10/5): Luxurious hotel and professional and special restaurant - Absolutely beautiful and quiet boutique hotel with a view of the Acropolis and a Michelin-rated restaurant. The staff is friendly and thought of every detail. We were traveling with older children and the staff were extremely kind to them. This was our last stop on a busy and fun trip; it was luxurious and worth it. I took the oldest two of our kids (teens) to the restaurant and we loved it; the service was professional but also so kind and personable. The food presentation was professional and special. The food was delicious. One of the best places I've ever stayed.

A delicious breakfast without the hotel-buffet scrum, and a fine view over the white city. After a long tour with widely varying accommodations, it was a real pleasure. We were glad to have been there.

• William (2/5): - Great location in the heart of Plaka and friendly staff, but the room was a major disappointment. It was dirty, the floor outside the shower was rotting, and ants were everywhere. The toilet and shower were in separate glass rooms with grimy pull-down blinds for privacy — not hygienic or comfortable. When we complained, the manager offered a different room for €60 more per night, on top of the €350 we were already paying. One of the worst hotel rooms I’ve experienced — not worth the price.
• Ellyn (6/5): - The property was in an excellent location, facing a smaller street and a large plaza and church. We had a lovely view of the Acropolis from our room (be sure to get a room with a view)! The hotel is a renovated, nicely designed building. Be aware, there is no lobby or any common areas except for the rooftop Michelin restaurant. Note: the restaurant only offers two fixed-price degustation menus—no à la carte. Breakfast is also à la carte - no buffet. This was included in our room price. There was plenty to choose from, without limit, and the service and food were excellent. If you are a light sleeper, you might not be happy with the church bell ringing the hour and a gong on the half hour. Earplugs were provided. The staff was friendly, courteous, and accommodating. The only issue for us was the fact that the restaurant was not only for guests of the hotel, so, one morning, we were served breakfast in our room since the restaurant was booked for an event. And we could not have drinks or snacks in the evening since the restaurant was fully booked with diners. Having an area set aside for hotel guests only would have been a better solution for this issue. Overall, I would highly recommend this lovely hotel if the lack of common areas and church bell gongs are not an issue. It was VERY conveniently located for sightseeing and walking around.
• melissarJ2192NP (10/5): A complete delight - There are so many hotels to choose from when planning a trip to Athens that it felt overwhelming. I wasn’t sure if being in the center of Plaka would be too much commotion for us. However we found Zillers to be the perfect choice for us and very central to all the activities we wanted to do. From the moment we arrived the staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. Theodore at the front desk and Alessia our server at breakfast both made sure our visit was enjoyable. Originally we had a room facing the interior corridor and were fortunate to get an upgrade to a room facing the square out front that had a balcony facing the acropolis. If you can, get the room with the view! Every moment we were in our room we had the doors open and that incredible view in front of us. At night with the shutters closed and curtains drawn we found it plenty quiet enough to sleep well. The bed and amenities made for a very comfortable stay. Thank you Ziller’s for a wonderful stay in Athens!

• MOZES58 (8/5): A very nice staying - We stayed in the hotel 3 nights. We have been upgraded to a room with Acropolis view. The hotel is located in the center of the center. But, opposite to the hotel located the Metropolis cathedral and it's bell rings every hour according to the present hour and at 07.30 the bell rings 40 times! The hotel is aware of this fact and there are ear plugs in the room beside the bed. After two nights, we asked to move to a rear room (without the Acropolis view) and they respected our request. We got a much bigger room and we didn't hear the church's bell ring. Breakfast is served on rooftop with a great view to the Acropolis. It's A La Carte menu and there is a very nice variety of dishes and it's very tasty ! One remark that I want to emphasize that it takes time from the moment you order till you get the food. Also, no vegetables is served at breakfast. Our waiter at breakfast was Panaagiotis and he gave us a perfect service! He always smiled and fulfilled every request that we asked. The service in the hotel wad very good and the hotel is spotless. We also sat at the Bar one night (on the rooftop and the view is gorgeous) and they did not charge us for the drinks! Last remark is that there are two levels in the rooms (at least in the rooms where we stayed). To summarize - we enjoy very much staying at this hotel.
• JMAL71 (10/5): Great Hotel - Great location! Close (walking distance) to shops, restaurants and the main tourist attractions. Only had breakfast at their rooftop restaurant and it was excellent. Rooms were clean and staff was nice. I would definitely stay there again. My only suggestion would be to put a little more effort on their traveller lunch box. We had breakfast included with our stay and since our flight left early in the morning before the restaurant opened they gave us a to-go box. The sandwich had a small piece of cheese and one slice of ham that was also too small. The small hotel we stayed in Turkey just before we went to Athens did a much better job. It might seen like I am nitpicking. I just think that the hotel puts so much effort in everything else that leaving guess with a sandwich that shows little or no effort as the last memory does the hotel a disservice.
• jeffcU4749QY (10/5): Beautiful rooms, beautiful views!! - We stayed here for two nights at the end of our honeymoon and could not have found a more PERFECT hotel in Athens. The rooms are stunning with high ceilings, crown moulding, and beautifully furnished, but the direct view of the Acropolis from our window really set it over the top. The food at breakfast was phenomenal, and we also had dinner at the Zillers Roof Garden - a michelin star INCREDIBLE dining experience. We would definitely stay again. It is a perfect location to explore central Athens- we were thrilled how close it was to all the important sites!

The staff were gracious enough to give me a great upgrade to a suite with a view of the acropolis to die for. Their rooftop bar/restaurant has great views. The restaurant is highly acclaimed in Athens as well. I found the staff super helpful with the luggage etc. you cannot go wrong with this property. It’s more unique than other hotels in the city and is worth experiencing. I look forward to staying here again during my next visit to Athens!

Very conveniently located, close to many good restaurants and the Acropolis. It's a small boutique hotel with just a handful of rooms. Breakfast is a highlight, served on their rooftop with a glorious view of the Acropolis. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful - they made several phone calls to help us sort out an issue with our ferry tickets.

• mattlU2298JU (10/5): Exceptional… - Location is very hard to match, everything Athens has to offer is on your doorstep. However, the hotel itself is kind of tucked away on a main street so once you’re tired it’s wonderful and quiet. Rooftop restaurant is (again) hard to beat. Lastly, the staff were so great. Friendly, unobtrusive and nothing too much trouble. Probably not good for anyone travelling on a budget, but worth every euro as terrific value for money if you can stretch to it…. Cannot recommend it enough and will definitely be coming back.

We really appreciated how intimate this small boutique hotel as, particularly after a hot day seeing sights in Athens. • 658kyried (10/5): Exquisite Boutique Hotel in Great Location - I am currently staying at the exquisite Zillers Hotel in the Plaka region of Athens. The rooms are spacious, the staff have fantastic attention to detail specific to you as the guest. We picked here for the location which does not let you down - ten minutes walk (max) from the Acropolis and for the roof top bar which delivers amazing views. Oh and the food is wonderful too, we sampled both the included menu service breakfast and on arrival, even though the kitchen had technically closed, they produced an amazing lunch. Highly, highly recommend it and thank you Zillers team.

Our rooms were stunning (thank you to the Zillers team for the surprise Acropolis view upgrade!!), the A/C was a life-saver, and the location was perfect. It was a treat to sit on the balcony of our room at night and overlook the church square/acropolis at night - it felt like something out of a movie. The complementary breakfast was delicious, and my husband and I loved ending our day enjoying a glass of wine at the rooftop bar. The staff was warm, friendly, and genuinely invested in making us feel at home. Thank you again!

Our room overlooked the Acropolis, church, square, and Acropolis Musuem, all of which are lit at night and we could see from our bed and balcony.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Church Bells!!!! - The hotel is located in a prime location. Everything is within walking distance. Hotel has charm and staff was 5 star level! The hotel is located in front of a church. The church bells rang all the time. You can't get a real comfortable rest. Darn bells woke us up every single time it rang. If you want to get rest, this is not the place.

• Sara (10/5): - It was a lovely hotel, originally a private home. A beautiful roof top restaurant for breakfast, a drink or dinner. Very dedicated staff. Our room was very nice - high ceilings. It was in the front, so we heard the church bells at night, but we got used to them.

Rooftop restaurant is the best spot in Athens for your delicious breakfast that came included with the room. Dinner was $100.00 per person so we ate each night at one of the dozens of charming outdoor restaurants within a block or two. The totally pedestrian street (no cars) is just one street over from Mitropolous. Didn’t expect the tiniest lobby or tiniest elevator ever. There are only 10 rooms. I don’t recommend the “petite” room. The cabin on my cruise ship was larger. But the 30 ft ceilings made it feel larger than it is. If you stay here, I’m sure you will love one if the 6 with view of the Acropolis.

It is located across the street from the Greek cathedral or Metropole, and is a little hard to spot because it is simply a regular door for entrance rather than an imposing hotel lobby. Even though the hotel is small, the services are the same as they would be for a big hotel. There is 24 hour attendance at the door for security. The rooms are spacious and efficiently appointed. They come with adjustable air conditioning, which is a great plus. The bathroom is large. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. Everything you would want to do is a short walk away, or accessible by metro or cab. Breakfast is on the rooftop with a spectacular view. The menu is very expansive, and everything is made to order. No buffet here. This really is the best choice in Athens. It is also a Rick Steves recommendation.
• 626natias (10/5): It’s important 😊 - Good day to everyone 👋 So, usually I always stayed at big and famous hotels, cause I thought Radisson, Hilton, Sheraton etc were more responsible for the service and it was very first time when we choose small hotel in Athens, I want to share with my great experience regarding this amazing staff and hotel 🙌🏻 First of all, location is great, the best place where you can spend your days perfectly , I was with my husband at his birthday and staff was so pleased and friendly, they surprised with cake 🎂😁 it was so pleasant 🙏 The room was with Acropolis view, (will share my photos with U) Hotel located in the center of the city… It’s small but comfortable hotel.. Breakfast was tasty but small portion:)) They had very friendly and cute staff, also it has MICHELIN ✨ 2023 … :) A special thanks to my favorite people Nadia and Tasos (hope I wrote names correctly) 😁 They were so kind and friendly 🤍🙌🏻 I will be back to your amazing place 🙏 Thx a lot 💛

• Melissa (10/5): Ideal for a short or longer stay - The staff was lovely, gave us perfect information to help us in our one-night stay in Athens. They upgraded us to an Acropolis view room, because it was available, which was such a treat. The breakfast was delicious, and in the Michelin star rooftop restaurant, again with a view of the Acropolis. The bed was very comfortable, and the AC worked well. We were a short walk (maybe 5-6 minutes) from the metro, which is a direct line to the airport and honestly, just as easy to do as getting a car. It was overall a perfect place for our short trip.

The room is comfortable and it's easy to walk to the Plaka, the Acropolis complex, to the museums near Syntagma Square, and to shopping from the hotel.

• Jan (10/5): A Gem! - The Zillers is an AMAZING hotel! My husband and I stayed for three nights and loved our experience there. Our room was beautiful and had an incredible view of the Parthenon, and the bed was super-comfortable with good-quality sheets and comforter. An excellent breakfast was served on the lovely rooftop terrace, and the service was exemplary. The hotel's location is ideal --- you can walk just about anywhere in Athens from it. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to that great city!

Beautiful decor, the rooftop bar and restaurant serves THE most amazing haute cuisine and cocktails, and the staff are so incredibly helpful and happy! The whole experience was just wonderful.. and at a very reasonable price for a city centre hotel. Would most definitely stay here again on any return trip
• Meredith (10/5): romantic retreat - We arrived early and they stored our bags and gave us cappuccino at the rooftop cafe with a cookie while we rested. Later we enjoyed truffles as a guest treat. Everything was spotless and comfortable, and the rooftop restaurant was excellent. We loved the wine pairings while we viewed the acropolis at sunset.

• Wayne (10/5): Perfect hotel--tiny sign - A lovely boutique hotel in the very heart of the Plaka. Walking distance to the Metro, all the museums and hundreds of restaurants, shopping, etc. The rooms are beautiful and the view of the Acropolis from the breakfast room/bar is the best in Athens. My lone complaint is their laughably tiny signage--I walked by the entrance twice without seeing it.

The room had a ton of charm, beautiful high ceiling, lovely windows with juliet balconies overlooking the Acroplolis and a beautiful square. Bed was big and comfy. Only issue was that the room was very tight and it was challenging to find a place to open 2 suitcases. But we were there only 2 nights and this was outweighed by all the positives.

• Lisa (10/5): Stay at Zillers if you can!! - This was our first trip to Athens and we will tell everyone we know to stay at the Zillers Boutique Hotel!! It is unassuming from the outside, but the staff is better than anywhere in the world we have stayed. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and if you can get an Acropolis view, do it! The restaurant on the rooftop is exceptional, with a wonderful breakfast every morning. And again, the view!! But the excellent staff that offers so much support for tours, travel, etc. exceeds all expectation. Plus the hotel is right in the center of town and perfect for touring. So glad we found it!
• JOHN (10/5): - I would write almost word-for-word the review by Joseba on April 26. Great location within walking distance of some key sites, caring, helpful staff, excellent breakfast included. The only potential irritant was the chiming of the church bells every half hour without exception. In time, they became unnoticeable. The roof top restaurant is a MUST if you like Michelin quality dinners; such creativity with food. Excellent value and Greek wine list.
• Joseba (10/5): - Despite the room being smaller than expected and even though we lacked of space to store our stuffs, our overall experience has been extremelly positive. Very well-located in the heart of the old-town. What we would highligth is the profesionalism and kindness of the whole staff and more particularly the lady who serves the breakfasts. Also worth to mention the house keeper who did a great work everyday. We won’t easily forget our nights having dinner in the terrace. Shall we go to Athens again, we would definitely consider staying here again.

Throughout our stay each staff person we interacted with was friendly, professional, and attentive. We were happy to get an early check-in after a long day of travel, and were welcomed with rooftop drinks. Our room was cute, and the only odd feature was the location of the bathroom within the room (fine for a couple, but not very private if traveling with friends). We enjoyed our delicious breakfast on our room’s balcony, and the location was perfect for sight seeing. Looking forward to our next stay!
