I was at Ciutat de Barcelona for 5 nights/6 days, and would have loved to stay longer. I will definitely be back.

We arrived at the hotel at 1pm and were delighted to discover our room was ready to check into. Hotel is in a great location and we were able to walk everywhere. Plenty of choice at breakfast and a secure room to leave our luggage on the last day. Pool area is nice but due to our late October stay, it was too cold to get into We enjoyed relaxing and reading on the sun loungers though. Thanks to the staff for a lovely stay. We will be back!

- Sandra (8/5): - Hotel room: Little disappointed when walking into the room d2 sewage smell, dirty walls, no cup/coffee/fridge, small room, old fashioned bathtub with the shower curtain that flies and hot/cold water temperature. After having understood the drought and industrial water pollution in the city, these can all be explained. The room is probably partially renovated as shown by the floor/door. Bottle water is cheap sold in supermarket on the street and communal fridge at the end of the hallway. 3.5/5 The hotel location is superb. Within 5 minutes, walk to Metro L3 Jaime I station, bus stations that lead to Barceloneta beach etc, attractions: Picasso Museum, Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar, Ciutadella Park, other modern arts museum, flemenco shows, abundant restaurants, tapa bars, pastry shops, supermarkets. Very convenient. Had to count on Google maps to move around the historic districts through the small Alleys and unmarked streets though. 5/5 Great breakfast buffet. 4.5/5 Free luggage storage though unsupervised in basement room. Had to pay extra City tax for each hotel night stay. If using public transportation, it's about 1 hr. We used taxi ~€50. Suggest to buy 1, 2, 3 day travel ticket for unlimited ridea: bus, Metro, airport and funicular that we got to every place we liked to visit. Online advanced purchase to La Sagrada Familia/tower, Park Guell or sold out for the time desired.

The roof top the drinks are amazing and the prices very affordable. Everything around is excellent , restaurants,shopping, etc . Will stay here again !!!

You won’t find a better location for the price in the heart of the gothic quarter. Easy to walk to arc de triomf and Barcelona Cathedral, and a few blocks from the metro to get everywhere else. They arranged a taxi ride to the airport the night before which was very nice as well. Rooftop bar is a plus. 5/5 experience and would recommend staying here again.

- THANG (10/5): - Very centrally located, the main attraction, the Church, is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. And multiple convenient stores nearby. Plenty of shops and restaurants right outside the front entrance. Got assigned the first floor facing the streets and it was bit noisy, can hear both the metals door closing during closing time as well as opening time. If it was a higher floor, I would think it would be less of an issue or ask for higher floor if light sleepers.

There could have been a few more options for gluten free on the breakfast, but I managed to eat a good meal in the morning, tortilla, ham, eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs. No gluten free bread. The room was good, the only problem is that the bed was very hard, too hard for my liking.

- cristina (10/5): - This hotel is in an awesome area! You can walk to SO many things. So many shops/restaurants. Right behind the hotel we stumbled upon an apparently super-viral cheesecake shop. The staff is amazing and you either have to swipe your card or get buzzed into the building, so it feels safe. I do wish they would monitor the people at the pool a bit more, there were two SUPER high people there, the girl started removing her swimsuit before she even got inside the bathroom. But that's not on the hotel. We stayed in late September.

I just had to ask For to change rooms from an inside room to a room With a balcony rather than the inside where it was kind of spooky

- Cynthia (10/5): - This property is a great find. The pool and bar area on the top are a fantastic place to rest and relax. The area around the hotel has some great restaurants and bars. It is less busy that the area around La Rambla. Just a walk around the corner to the Picasso museum. Very reasonable rates
- Katrina (4/5): - The location is great. The hotel is very clean but basic and needs updating. The room safe was at floor level in the wardrobe which made it almost impossible to access. There were no drawers or shelves in the bedside tables or wardrobe and there was no dressing table. The breakfast room was spartan and the breakfast was limited with only apples and a few oranges instead of the range of fruit shown on the website and the hotel tv channel. One morning there were no bowls available for cereal. The TV only worked occasionally and the air con control was almost impossible to operate as the dial was missing. The toiletry tray in the shower was nearly falling off and there was a very limited selection of toiletries. The roof terrace, bar and pool were lovely to come back to after a day’s sightseeing.

Our bed felt like we were sleeping on a plywood board, it was extremely uncomfortable, the shower had some mold, there is a shower curtain that was to short and when you take a shower it sticks to you and you get water all over the floor, not sure if its changed in between guest, the other people that were traveling with us had a totally different type of room, it seems that they were rationing towels, the air conditioner in our room never cooled the room, thank fully it wasn’t hot out. When we arrived it appeared there was a flood in the area where the luggage is stored. There was a bucket of very dirty water in the hallway and sump drains which made it difficult to maneuver your luggage,

Room was clean and spacious, however the bed isn’t attached to anything and slides on the floor! Balcony of our room was removed so we were unable to open the window/door for fresh air, and the knob of our thermostat was broken off so we could not adjust the temperature in our room! Not a huge deal as the temperature outside had dropped slightly when we were there! Overall amazing location and would definitely stay again!

The balcony was great for relaxing and people watching. The bathrooms are in serious need of updating, but the showers were hot and had good pressure. Staff were casual and helpful. A bit over priced.

You are in the middle of everything ( food,shopping ) walkable distance to museums, beach etc. $300 plus dollars in a room dark with terrible lighting and bed. Staff seems to be bothered every time you have a request. Tv wasn’t working our first night said they will send someone up as we were going out for dinner. No one showed up and told we will have to wait until the next day. I ended up fixing the tv. No apologies, didn’t offer another room. Nothing. The only thing going for this hotel is their location.

Closeby to transport and lots of shops for food etc. The facilities were clean but there was a slight smell in the bathroom, as well as the staff forgetting to provide an extra towel. Overall it’s a good place to stay if you’re looking to travel around Barcelona.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic. - Fantastic location in the heart of the gothic district. Very conventient for subway and bus links, and the beach was a 20 minute walk. Rooms were clean and comfortable and we ended up with a balcony which was unexpected. Rooftop pool great for a dip to cool down and was completely empty every morning of my stay here.

Their breakfast is also very good. Some of the staff are more friendly than others, but that is universal. My only suggestion would be, to upgrade the bottom part of the bath inside and outside. It seems to have some mold.

Throughout the whole stay ventilation was terrible and resulted in us being sick during our whole vacation. Everytime we entered the room there was a pungent smell, which we suspect is caused by the mold in the room. Walls were very thin and we could hear everything from adjacent rooms, which interrupted our sleep regularly, resulting in sleep deprivation. Staff was good, but conditions were terrible. These poor conditions are resulting us to get medical attention, as we are still very ill from this stay.
- Lisa (10/5): - This is the 6th time we have stayed here. We LOVE it. The location, the rooms (312), the roof, the ease of walking everywhere, it is just great. It feels safe too. Close enough to the L4 line or the bus if you don't want to walk. You are surrounded by excellent bars and restaurants and there is nowhere we would rather stay than here! Check-in staff are absolutely lovely!

Not the worst but lots of small little things. - cleaning staff kept turning off the AC and in 38 degree heat, it was not nice to come into to. - shower drain broken, has to use fingers to pry it open. - cleaning staff didn’t knock and walked in on me while on the toilet - everyday our room keys would stop working and we would need to go back to the front desk - very uncomfortable beds, should not be charging over $200 per night anytime of year.

It was so easy to hear and see people walking. We probably would have had a better stay if we weren't so close to the dark, graffiti-covered alley.

The only issue was the A/C in the common areas and the lobby was not working properly and it was very hot outside. Other than that; no complaints. I would stay again!

- Francis (6/5): - I liked the location of the hotel, it was in a great central area to, transport links,( 6 minute walk from De Francia train station) close to the many bars, restaurants and walking distance to many attractions etc. I did not like the room, it was dimly lit and without, tea or coffee facilities, also noisy being stuck at the end of a small corridor with a room either side. The small rooftop pool turned out to be a small splash pool containing dank, murky water, that did nothing to entice me to enter, despite the nice weather. Over all though we enjoyed our time in Barcelona very much. The taxi from the hotel to El Prat was in excess of 50 euros, despite being assured by staff that it would only cost between 30 - 40 euros, 2 adults with a suitcase each.

- Gwendoline (6/5): - We had chosen this property because we were arriving late and it had a 24hr reception. As a family of 4 we had booked two twin rooms. We paid extra for twin rooms as doubles were less expensive in Expedia. 48 hours before arrival I emailed them to confirm our late arrival and request adjoining rooms. They replied and advised they could not provide adjoining rooms but did offer rooms on the same floor. They also confirmed our late arrival. We arrived at the hotel at 11:45 pm and they were not expecting us and had no record of our reservation. They were fully booked and gave us the last two remaining rooms , a twin and a double. The double was fine, but the twin was awful. It was dark and small and was like sleeping in a closet. There is no way it should have cost as much per night as the bigger, brighter room. It definitely was not what we had reserved. They won’t able to move us next day as they were fully booked. Expedia were not much help and said as our reservation was “pay on arrival” it somehow must have gotten lost ?!! Overall the hotel is nice. The location is great, the staff are friendly & the breakfast is convenient. The hotel pool is small and located on the roof. The water was very cloudy and didn’t look safe to swim in so we decided not to use it during our stay.
- Sara (8/5): - Excellent location for tourists -- right in the heart of old Barcelona/the Gothic district, so many tourist attractions are within a 5 minute walk (Picasso museum, MOCO museum, Basilica de Santa Maria, etc.) and close to a metro stop. However, the rooms are very plain and the beds too firm for my taste. Walls are thin, so you can hear other people, and the street noise (because the hotel is in a popular place) is fairly noticeable on the second floor. Perhaps a higher floor would be quieter?

- susan (8/5): - It would have been nice to have coffee or tea making facilities and a fridge but other than that it was nice and clean and central to where we wanted to visit
- Lisette (10/5): - Very comfortable room. Restaurant has great food and it’s by the pool, which is very nice on hot days.
