• Federica (8/5): - The room was very small, but I just appreciated that there was no moquette and also that the bathroom was good. The position is super close to the center and there are a lots of cute places and fully connected with transports if you have to move in the city. Nothing, was all fine!

• Marcel (7/5): Viel zu teuer für die Qualität der Zimmer. - Die Lage und Umgebung war toll. Baugerüste vor den Fenstern über die man hätte leicht in die Zimmer steigen können, da man die Fenster nicht sichern konnte. Auch haben Folien die ganze Nacht über Geräusche verursacht sodass man von ihnen ständig geweckt wurde. Die Bettwäsche war auch nicht wirklich sauber (fleckig). Aus der Dusche kam sehr wenig Wasser und das Wasser im Waschbecken wollte nicht ablaufen.

• Shauna (1/5): - Wasn't told prior to arrival that we were in completely didnt hotel to one that was booked and prepaid for only informed by a letter stuck to front door. Room was drafty due to work being done on the building useless heating facilites and stubborn window scaffolding blocking views. Original booked hotel was fine no work being done, when i asked why the hotel had been changed i wasnt given an answer. Thought the cupboard door led to a cupboard but actually led to quite a dangerous open gap in the building with no window. This was clearly the same for the room next door as the group staying in the room climbed through and onto scaffolding around 0200am drunk etc which woke us up. Bed positioned under slanted roof area which resulted in terrible sleep. Tv and heating both didnt work. Downstairs area was messy and cluttered. Staff not around to speak to. If pre warned about this we would have refunded our stay and found somewhere else for the price if not cheaper with better conditions.

• Florian (1/5): Furchtbar - Das einzig positive an der Unterkunft war das man relativ zentral war und schnell zu Fuß an verschiedenen Spots war Leider absolut nicht empfehlenswert – unhygienisch und enttäuschend Ich habe zwei Nächte im Amsterdam Townhouse Hotel verbracht und war leider sehr enttäuscht. Schon beim Betreten des Zimmers fiel ein starker, muffiger Geruch auf. Bei näherem Hinsehen war deutlich Schimmel an der Zimmerdecke, in der Dusche und an weiteren Stellen zu erkennen – ein gravierendes hygienisches Problem. Zusätzlich lagen Fingernägel auf dem Boden, was zeigt, dass die Reinigung sehr oberflächlich oder gar nicht stattgefunden hat. Auch das Fenster direkt neben dem Bett hatte keinen Sichtschutz, sodass man von außen direkt ins Zimmer schauen konnte – das war für mich extrem unangenehm. Man musste dauerhaft die Rollladen geschlossen haben. Insgesamt war das Zimmer in einem Zustand, der aus meiner Sicht absolut unzumutbar ist. Ich habe mich in der Unterkunft weder wohl noch sicher gefühlt. Ich habe den Zustand mit Fotos dokumentiert und den Vorfall auch bei Booking.com gemeldet. Ich würde dieses Hotel definitiv nicht noch einmal buchen.

• SINTZEN (1/5): - La situation géographique est bien. Les autres personnes séjournant dans l’hôtel sont irrespectueux. En pleine nuit, ils crient, déménagent des meubles et fument dans l’établissement. Le lit est très petit mais tout est propre.

Clean, efficient property with nice neighbourhood shops and cafes nearby. Try the small Italian place with home madepasta. Fantastico! I will be returning to the Townhouse for my next business trip to Amsterdam

• Candice (8/5): Amazing sleep!!! - We didn’t actually stay at the townhouse, we were moved to another hotel called ITC which was opposite, the room itself was clean an tidy, the bed was amazing!!! Such a comfy mattress, lovely duvet cover, I didn’t wanna leave :( the room didn’t have any tea making facilities which was abit of a let down but the bed made up for it! No tea making stuff in the rooms :( they were 2.50 on the machine in the lobby
• Abigail (7/5): Comfy clean room, great base and location to explore - Location was great, lovely comfy cosy room and bed, good shower and the room was clean, had a TV on the wall with access to Netflix etc Not the hotels fault, as its in a beautiful old building it can get a bit noisy and you can hear people talking, getting in of a night as if they are in your room and footsteps, that was the only downfall for us.

• Jordan (2/5): SCAM DEPOSIT - Room first night wasn’t available due to toilet being fixed, was then moved to the room anyway for the rest of my tip all thought there was works going on from 8am everyday, toilet wasn’t fixed either for all of the stay, finally when I got there asked for the full payment although I had paid €150 online prior to my Arrival, I was told I’d receive my money back after my stay and 3 weeks later still no sign of it

• Elizabeth (4/5): Dissapointed with the need to walk up flights of steep stairs. - Comfortable beds. Friendly staff on duty who ensures things that we needed are provided for in the room like Kettle. Walking distance to many eateries and the Tram stop 1 minute walk from the hotel. We booked The Townhouse Hotel upon reaching there, the signage on the door requested us to proceed to ITC Hotel for check in as the reception was there. Despite informing of weak knees and unable to walk flight of stairs, we were given room on the 2nd floor. The duty manager said the stairs is OK to walk up but upon reaching the stairs, it was steep and narrow and difficult for the elderly to walk up with heavy luggages. The steep stairs is dangerous for the elderly with weak knees and it can cause injury if not careful. The Hotel should notify Booking.Com that guests will have to proceed to ITC Hotel for registration and check in.

• Christian (5/5): Passable - Near to the central and near to the canal, but also they had bike rental which was very convenient. The staff are very friendly. We can hear what is happening upstairs and the front door when people close it, we hear a big bang and we end up waking up at night time. Was difficult to sleep. The heating wasnt working properly, it doesn’t warm up well even though we put it ip to max.

• Tulip (6/5): Great location. Friendly staff. Wildly steep stairs (as typical of the old Dutch townhouses) - Perfect location. Friendly staff. Staff changed our room after two nights due to mosquitoes in the room with the windmill wall sticker. When we were given the room initially the member of staff said in passing that there is another room free tomorrow if we are not happy with to room provided. Which hinted that the staff knew the room was not good. Following two nights at the hotel we finally gave up with the mosquitoes and asked for a different room. By this point we were both covered in bits. When I told the receptionist the reason for wanting to move they cut me off mid sentence and said that they are aware of the problem. This lead me to believe that this is a common complaint from guests which makes me wonder why they are still putting people in that room. Once we moved the room was great. So thank you to the hotel for the service.
