Guest Reviews
Daria nota 8 de 10 e voltaria a me hospedar.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice place to stay.
5 minutes walk to Colosseum and the forum.
Close to good restaurants.
- Thomas (10/5): Great location - Great location near the Coliseum and metro, with a lively square and many restaurants at the base of the building.
Note that this is a B&B, not a hotel. They need to know when to expect you, since the door on the street has an electronic lock.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pit Stop in Roma - Stopped for a night in Rome before continuing to Napoli. We arrived late so we had to go to where the key holder was since it was more of a guest house style. The room was different than pictures but very lovely. Although we didn't use a life for our heavy luggage which was challenging.
- David (10/5): Great central location! - The apartment has a door to the (large) fold out bed in the sitting area so great for a teen that needs their own space. At most 15 mins stroll to Forum etc. 35 stroll to Pantheon etc - could not be in a better place for seeing the sights. Rooms clean and have everything needed - it was not warm enough to have the air con on when we went but assumed it would be switched on if asked. Glazing makes the room nice and quiet from the busy square. Host was willing to help with any aspect and breakfast each day was a bonus. We would go back again at the drop of a hat!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Price conscious choice for accommodation in Rome - A nice little B&B with a great location near Colosseum/Forum Romanum. Just outside the B&B there is a little piazza with a cozy atmosphere at night. Decent continental breakfast. Recommendable.
- jef (8/5): IN funky Italian neighborhood - You stay here to get a feel for the everyday happenings in this neat funky area called Monti
I stay right at the Piazza Monti and the sights and sounds were enjoyable along with being 5 min
walk to the Colosseo. I would stay again the caretaker is very nice lady
- EUNHWAN (8/5): - Nace place. Close to colosseo. Good service. Very near subway station.
- Andrea (8/5): Confortevole a 5 minuti a piedi dal colosseo - ...
Men gikk fint. Litt harde senger, men gikk greit. Kunne gjerne bodd her igjen.
- Emanuela (10/5): The perfect place to be - The perfect place! Right in rione Monti s heart, one of the best area to be in Rome, trendy area alive with nightlife, fashion and a lot of restaurant. The rooms are immaculate, and nicely furnished, continental breakfast is served directly in your room. There is a small elevator, where one person can ride with his bags. Nicely priced, Tania, the b e b attendant is always there to help you with anything you might need. I'll be back very soon! Wifi works perfectly!
- Carol (8/5): B&B near Colloseum - Nice shower, bathroom, location. Friendly staff. Fine breakfast brought to room whenever you want it. Clean.
- Vova (8/5): Nice central apartment - It's a few apartments in a resident's 3 floor old house. It has a spiral staircase with small lift installed in the middle of stairs shaft. Gests received key for a room and for a lift, code for a main door. One lady is constantly on site, brings a small bakery breakfast and making daily service.
- Sheila (10/5): great deal! - The hotelkeeper was amazing... kind, cordial and welcoming. Only two blocks away from the Coliseum, and next to a small piazza. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast Was served on time.
- Subhankar (10/5): Old styled, impeccably maintained home - We enjoyed the comfort of our stay at this cosy apartment. This is very close to Colosseum. Have plenty of food joints around.
In case of more than two persons, for someone to sleep in the living room, the bit noisy mini fridge may be switched off.
- Christian (10/5): What a find! - Lovely accommodation, close to all the sights, very good value for money
- P. (2/5): Avoid - They gave our apartment to someone else even though we had booked two months earlier and had a confirmation.
Pictures are deceiving.
- Ryan (10/5): Great location, fantastic staff, highly recommended! - Great location, fantastic staff. I would highly recommend this hotel for anybody looking for top notch accommodations in Rome.
- Susan (8/5): Very good location - A bit tricky to find on arrival but very conveniently located once found, comfortable enough for our 4 day stay. In a busy neibourhood and was noisy when the windows were open but good soundproofing once closed. Would recommend it for those who want to be close to all the main sights of Rome as most things are within easy walking distance. loved seeing the collisium every time we steeped out the front door.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location, nice workers, and nice food - It was a nice bed & breakfast room with an upgraded bathroom. The workers were nice, and the breakfasts were delicious. It's also walking distance to restaurants, the subway, the main train station in Rome, and a lot of tourist destinations. It is next to a popular plaza, but the dual pane windows block most of the noise. If you stay here, make sure you look for the address (there is no sign that indicates the location). The entrance is on the 3rd floor.
- Verified traveler (4/5): near to coliseum - fare, aircon not functioning
- Mick (10/5): Great Place To Stay - This hotel was great, more like an apartment then hotel. The owner couldn't be more helpful, free internet, basic breakfast(which is all we needed) delivered each morning, good size room with cooking facilities, great location and best of all was the price. Would definatly recommend.
- Renée (6/5): - The appartement is very nice and big, and it is possible to walk to every place in town. But when we arrived at the adress the first day, no one was there to open, and there are no signs at the door, which makes it hard to find. The only employee we met, could not speak english, wich made it difficult to ask her any questions. We did not get any information from her, example what to do with the keys when we were leaving again. The brekfast was not very good..
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean B&B close to everything - The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had a fantastic stay and will stay here again if we are in Rome again.
- Angela (10/5): Sub Urbe - Roma - close to all sights - Great little place. Very clean and comfortable. We stayed here before but since has had a facelift which was very nice. Only 3 rooms but personal service and friendly. When you come out of the front door you are in front of the Colleseum. Can walk to all sights. Nice restaurants all around. In a nice little Piazza. Would highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Can't wiat to go back - fantastic apartment and host. - The location, size of the apartment, cleaniness and the friendly host and staff made our stay at Sub Urbe Roma, so memorable that we would definitely stay there again.
- Steve (10/5): Great accommodation close to Colesseum - An excellent hotel.. 5 min walking distance to Colesseum. A little difficult to find at first as there is no sign stating Sub Urbe etc. It is not far from the little fountain if you are looking for it. Only dissapointment was that the internet didn't work, but there was a cheap internet cafe direct across the road and it was very good. The lift was out, but only a problem if you had lots of luggage as it is on the third floor. Air conditioning worked but didn't really need it in September. The facilities in the room was excellent with a fully functioning kitchen plus use of expresso coffee maker machine in the reception area. Felt very secure. This accommodation represents low risk, great value for money, and a great Italian experience. Housekeeping and cleanliness was superb.
- Agatha (4/5): Sub Urbe = Sub Standard - Childhood lesson: If you can't say anything positive, don't say anything. So in keeping with this, Sub Urbe Roma definitely had a great location- close to the Colosseum and by a quaint piazza where locals gathered at night. It was also clean. Unfortunately, that is where the praise begins and ends. The B&B failed to live up to its advertised promises on every other level.
We arrived in a typical Roman heatwave - 45 degrees. Elevator was not functional. Up five flights of stairs to a room that was stagnant with humid air. Airconditioning was not working. No fan. Being flexible travellers, we hoped open windows at night would bring relief. Judging by the constant sound of crashing glass from 2am onwards, I can only assume the B&B is directly by a bottle recycling facility! E-mailed proprietor for assistance-no response!
No hot water upon our arrival, though the kind housekeeper sent to greet us was able to rectify that. She, however, could not offer help with the television or bedside lights/outlets that were not operational. She was also apologetic about the coffee maker that was not in order; suggested pouring hot water on the packet contents, but alas, it only produced brown breakfast sludge. The rest of "breakfast" consisted of packaged dry toast and wafers and a carton of juice. Nothing was replenished for the second morning.
Having prepaid two nights, there was no incentive for management to be present or concerned about the guest's stay and comfort
- Irma (8/5): Great Location, but.... - This is definitely a place if you are not looking for any hotel service whatsoever. I loved the location. Everything is nearby. I walked everywhere from here. The room is clean, but you are literally limited on things. There is no breakfast as it said, just snacks in your room. Honestly I didn't care about that or the other stuff, my main concern is that the walls are thin. I could here the other guests. I travel with ear plugs and this shut out the loud guest that stayed there. Everything else was fine. I would stay here again hoping the guests are not loud like the ones that stayed there. Just a reminder for those who are looking at this place, this is not a hotel. It is Bed and Breakfast type. You get keys and you are on your own after that. Which is fine with me. But I had a good stay, loved the location, and the neighborhood. Nearby is the train station by walking is 10 minutes or so by the metro which is nearby is the same or less.
You can see the Colosseum which is down the street. Lots of places to eat nearby. A pharmacy across the street. Souvenir shops, too.
- Assaf Hermel (10/5): one of the best hotel appartment in rome! - It close to all see sights, it close to the tourist center and you have the best view you dream about - Piazza Maddona.
The manager of the hotel - Ennio stani is charming and very helpfull for any problem and question.
The next time that I will be in rome, we for sure will be stay there.
- Brian (10/5): Good spot - This apartment was everything we expected. A great location about a 5-10 minute walk from the coliseum and about 3 minutes to the subway. Lots of fast food, (pizza), restaurants, and a grocery store around. The square with the fountain right outside and the noise of glassed clinking and people talking added to the ambiance. The windows closed tightly to drown out the noise when we went to bed. Stayed with 2 adults and 2 boys aged 9-13. We had separate bedroom and the boys had a full size cot. They slept in the living area with the kitchen and kitchen table. No couches or chairs, but we only stayed there to eat and rest. It was a little nerve racking to get there without a check-in desk, but Ennio, the owner, was there to greet us and give us the lay of the land. It is 3 flights up, but that was doable for our family, as we only went up or down 2-3 times per day. It was fall, so temperature was not an issue. The building was undergoing construction, but it didn't affect us and it should be done by the end of 2010.
