- 858mollied (10/5): Amazing - Stayed here end of Feb, what an amazing hotel! Check in was quick and we were able to check in a little early (2pm ish). The room is stunning, exceptionally clean and has everything you need from toothbrushes, cotton buds, and even a bidet! Staff are always around, speak great English and there is always a security guard on the door 24/7. It’s in the heart of las ramblas so perfect for late night shopping or food. You can hear people slamming doors and kids running down corridors etc from your room, however it’s a hotel and cannot be helped i guess! Aircon worked great, lots of storage and shower has good pressure. Also as an lgbtq+ and two younger women, we felt very safe at this hotel! To add to this, Will at the reception was amazing when our transfer (booked independent from the hotel!) did not come on time, waiting out in the street with us and even talking to the customer service in Spanish on his phone, offering to call us a taxi and then carrying our bags to the car. Exceptional customer service and will absolutely be booking next time we return to Barcelona.
- perrin-family01 (10/5): Great Family hotel in the heartof Barcelona - An excellent hotel located in the heart of Barcelona. Friendly and helpful staff from the moment we arrived. Early check-in was no problem, and the family superior room was well presented and very spacious for a family of four. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast was the best, plenty of choice to suit the entire family, that we all loved it even on busy days. The Breakfast staff are a little eager to clean away the plates but honestly, that's the only downside. We would fully recommend and will look to stay with Catalonia hotels again.

The hotel manager is present and always welcoming and makes sure everything is okay. The reception staff is always smiling and ready to help, especially Daria and the other employee with the black hair and blue eyes. The guards at the entrance greet you happily and the dining room staff are simply wonderful.
- Navigator36318044125 (2/5): terrible experience .. - I stayed at the hotel for four days. The service was very bad, especially towards Arabs. They were racist. The reception staff didn't smile or welcome guests. I repeatedly asked them to fix a problem with the bathroom, but unfortunately, they ignored my request. I also asked them to fix the room light, and they said the maintenance department was busy. The room cleaning service was slow, and they neglected to change the sheets. I advise avoiding staying at this hotel and finding alternative hotels in the city center. اقمت في الفندق ٤ ايام الخدمة سيئة جدا خصوصا مع العرب .. عندهم عنصرية .. موظفي الاستقبال لا يبتسمون و لا يرحبون بالنزلاء .. طلبت منهم مرارا اصلاح عطل في الحمام .. و للاسف قامو بتجاهل طلبي .. وكذلك طلبت منهم اصلاح اضاءة الغرفة وقالو بان قسم الصيانة مشغولين .. و خدمة تنظيف الغرف بطيئة و عندهم اهمال لتبديل الشراشف .. انصح بتجنب الإقامة في هذا الفندق وايجاد فنادق بديلة في السنتر ..

- HotelJunkie21 (10/5): Perfect Barcelona Hotel - Excellent service from initial booking to my stay. Even a card discrepancy was handled so politely and efficiently by Laura via email pre stay. During my stay, at check in I was upgraded to the most beautiful room on the top floor. Incredible views from the terrace and huge room, comfortable extremely large bed, dressing area and fabulous bathroom. I cannot fault this hotel in any way, great location, wonderful team and my colleagues and I felt really looked after! The front office team are fabulous, particularly Sabrina who was so personable, helpful and recommended a brilliant tapas restaurant which was an easy 10min walk away. Thank you for a lovely stay in Barcelona.
- S1603MLcathyc (6/5): Mixed review, difficult experience with check-in (Laura) - The hotel was easy to find, as it’s centrally located. We went away for a much needed break as a couple. Check-in was hard work as there seemed to be a problem with our booking from what we observed. We’re genuine and understanding people but we appreciate honesty. After all, we paid for a 4* hotel. During check-in the receptionist (laura) spoke to her colleague whilst we were at desk. Her colleague looked as if she knew there was an error. The receptionist serving us arrogantly shrugged at her colleague before telling us we had been “upgraded” with minimal eye contact and an attitude problem. She also gave us a free voucher for a glass of cava (we don't drink). This experience was condescending as we could see there was an issue and she chose not to be honest. We booked a superior room as the suites were sold out and we were given a deluxe (rm312) which was far from that. The air con was broke, it was also very small (see pic). I saw the same receptionist at check out using her personal phone so I didn’t take our experience as personal but the customer service here should be reviewed. That said, the other staff went above and beyond which was nice to see in a four star rated hotel. It was clean and the facilities were good overall. I wouldn’t return as it’s a lottery with the room sizes/quality

The room was spotless and cleaned daily to a high standard. The staff were all very friendly and helpful — special thanks to Renata, who was amazing and even upgraded our room for free, which made our trip even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Barcelona! 🌟

- angiea923 (2/5): Terrible! - The location is good, unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended for us. Smelly rooms, uncomfortable beds and rude reception. We had booked a triple room, which was supposed to include two beds and a sofa bed. When we arrived, the sofa bed wasn’t made up yet, which wasn’t an issue for us, we simply called to kindly request that it be prepared. The housekeeping staff came but couldn’t open the sofa, so they called maintenance. When the maintenance worker tried to open it, two screws came flying out and one of the bars came loose. After witnessing that, I no longer felt the sofa bed was safe or sturdy enough for an adult. I called reception to request a room change. The receptionist insisted that maintenance would need to come again to check it. When I explained that I did not want it merely repaired but wanted a different sofa instead, she called me back in an unprofessional tone, saying I couldn’t tell her what to do, or claim that the sofa couldn’t be fixed. This interaction left a very poor impression of the hotel’s customer service. Eventually, they moved us to another room, where the sofa bed was already made, though still uncomfortable, as were the regular beds. Unfortunately, both rooms we stayed in had the same unpleasant mildew odor, and the walls were thin enough that we could hear noise from neighboring rooms and the floor above. Such a shame since there are people in the staff like Manu who are great, very nice and helpful. I would avoid this hotel at all costs. Overall, however, I would avoid this hotel at all costs.

- Annabella Louise (8/5): - Nice pool area and beautiful room and bathroom. Noise carried quite a lot from corridors and I was woken a few times by people leaving the hotel in the very early hours of the morning. Breakfast range was great, huge dining room made it really busy though - had to queue often. Be aware that as soon as it gets to end of breakfast service they will start packing food away promptly. Although staff often pop over to let you know. Very clean and well maintained property.

- Manolito Reyes (10/5): Central Location - An elevated room with a nice view! Can’t beat this location in Las Ramblas, walking distance to many shopping areas and restaurants. Front desk service was kind. Pool is a bit small but it is nice with the bar/lounging area. Gym only has 2 pieces of cardio equipment, no resistance equipment nor free weights. Breakfast buffet was amazing and had a wide selection. I would stay again for a short visit.

Lots of great shopping and restaurants around. The staff were great to work with and even switched our room when we needed a different arrangement. It was nice to find a hotel that offered rooms to sleep the 4 of us which are hard to find in Europe. Would stay here again!

- Scenic672275 (10/5): A little gem in the center of Barcelona - This was an amazing hotel right in the middle of Barcelona in one of the best areas and busiest areas of the city. We had an amazing experience there and.Renata at the front desk check us in. She was so pleasant, unkind and considerate after our 12 hour journey to get there from Los Angeles. We were given a really nice room with a nice view and it was very comfortable for our stay the hotel had a number of restaurants we only at in the breakfast restaurant every day and then we were out most of the day and night time we got to hang out at the bar at the pool a few times and the bar in the lobby a few times we had a great time that we were there for a wedding and lots of people we hadn't seen for a while were there at the hotel too we had fun great food in the city and did a lot of touristy things so we hope to be back there one day also wanted to give a shout out to the Bellman Lucas who was so helpful on our checkout we hope one day to get back to this hotel in our future. - Daisywalker2 (10/5): Magical hotel and staff - We recently stayed here as a group of 30 for my son’s wedding, which was at La Baronia. The hotel was truly amazing on all levels. They have gone beyond to help us, we visited last year and booked and have been in regular contact. We held a pre wedding party at the Vanguard Terrace which was again fabulous. Rooms, food, hotel pool and all staff were magnificent. Special mention to Rita and Aaron and Yolanda ❤️ Robson family

- Travelust1192 (2/5): The only theft in Barcelona was at this hotel - Booking this hotel was a terrible mistake, and maybe my review will save you from the same. The nightmare began right from check-in, which happened at 4 AM- Our arrival time. The person at the check in desk was rude and argumentative. My parents- Both senior citizens were tired after the long journey, and we received no courtesy from him. This was despite my clarifying everything in advance over 16 email thread, and having paid for the entire reservation in advance. I thought it would get better from here, but to no avail. They charge for ridiculous things like keeping the fridge empty. We just wanted Space to store our Water, but there was none and they mentioned there would be a five euro charge to remove their items. So basically, your room doesn’t have a fridge. They don’t even give you water to drink- because ‘Barcelona has a water shortage’ as a lady at the reception said. But of course you can pay for the expensive water in the mini fridge. Initially it became a running joke between us about what all they could possibly charge us for and what our final bill will be. The hotel is overall decent and we desperately wanted to get past all these issues. We ignored the add on charges but on our last few nights, even the air conditioning was barely working. When I called the reception to complain, I was just told: ‘Sorry. There is no service staff available and no extra room’ so I will just have to put up with it. Now imagine sleeping without proper air conditioning in Barcelona Heat wave in a “4 star” hotel. At 4 AM on check in they had all the staff to charge us small amounts like a supplement and city tax. But at 1am when you’ve already paid everything- they have no one to help if your room is too hot to sleep. Clearly had no courtesy to make my stay more comfortable or even offer to refund part of the money for a night. I don’t know how this Hotel is in the hospitality industry because they clearly have no idea what the word means. You may think that you don’t need Service because you’ll barely stay in your hotel. Or this was a one off and it will not happen to you- I thought the same when I read the negative reviews. Unfortunately, I learnt my lesson the hard way. I’ve travelled to over 35 countries and this is easily one of the worst stays ever.
- BRIAN1608 (10/5): Catalonia Ramblas , Hidden Gem in Barcelona - Just back from a stay at this 4 star hotel, it was a Family trip and from start to finish it was very pleasant and a really nice stay. A very nice man at front Desk called Tavi. Was very kind and helpful facilitating our family with a late check out which was great as it gave us a little extra time to enjoy the hotel. The hotel is very central near plaza Catalunya and la Ramblas , taxis , buses , metro nearby. We had a really nice room , very nice pool area and the hotel was very clean with nice decor. The staff also very friendly. I would stay here again and recommend it as a central hub. Well done and Thanks again Brian.

The pool, pool bar & terrace were great & very much needed in the Barcelona heat! I would recommend this hotel & will be returning.
- Admir (6/5): Not good not disaster - The best thing about this hotel is excellent location. Staff was polite and ready to help, but everything else was not so good. Very noisy, not for couples, many children who are running and screaming during the night and day. We get a room 115 which was spacy but located at the same level as pool and bar, we couldnt move the curtains during the whole stay, and also listening all people who were at the pool during the day. We have tried twice some food from pool bar, it was quite bad, but alao expensive. Hotel have a lot of potential but it is not used obvioulsy.

- Daniel (6/5): - Hotel is ok overall, but check-in is only at 3pm. Due to our flight we arrived too early — at 9:15am. It was fully booked. Check out time at 12pm. Note that on the day of checking out the cleaning lady knocked on the door already at 11:40am! We were about to leave. It would’ve taken 30 minutes to clean up the room and the room would’ve been ready three hours earlier. I’m sure the same happened on my day of checking in. And yet —administration politely but a bit annoyed made us wait for 5 1/2 hours and only provided us with our room only by 3:05 PM – not even ONE minute earlier! Later that morning more Americans arrived. I noticed that this non-corporation with earlier checking-in applies to American citizens primarily — my observation which they will easily object. Plus the location is not the best, bums downstairs, no doorman helps with luggage, etc. Regardless, will not be there again.

The lobby had a jar of essence water which was great, but it was never cold. Location: short walk to 2 metro locations, there is a mailbox a block away (for a postcard). walking distance to many tourist sites Staff was very friendly and helpful, particularly in giving us guidance on using the metro. The rooms were clean and appear to have been updated in recent years. The beds were of average comfort. bathroom shower was very big. Cons: Room: We traveled in July when it was very hot. Air conditioning would not cool below 21°C (69.8°F), and we're use to 68. The room also had a slight musty smell, possibly because of no exhaust fan in the bathroom. We had 2 adults and 2 teens in 1 room, there were 2 double beds and 1 pull out couch. I knew this when I selected the room and felt I got what I paid for, but another family was absolutely furious about the pullout couch and wanted to leave the hotel. The doors were noisy closing, a large family was leaving one morning and their door slammed about 15 times over 20 minutes between 6-6:30am Coffee is available with breakfast, which we did not purchase, but either way it's was impossible to find coffee anywhere in the hotel or the city before 7:30 am which was annoying. there was a kettle in the room but it didn't work.

And recent reviews at that hotel were horrible. Always listen to your first mind! If your gut tells you, no. Listen! Up to the last minute, I was looking at their reviews. Then found another bad review just two weeks before we were leaving. Oh nooooo. Last minute searching on my own because my travel agent gave up on me and said find your own hotel to your liking, cancelled his recommendation! Found this hotel, nice reviews and Voila- Cantalonia Ramblas we go. This was for my daughter’s graduation and 18th birthday! It had to be perfect. Initially, the first impression was not about accommodation, that is. Great hotel, smelled good, great location, clean - first impression on appearance WOW! I wanna stay here! After our private transport screwed up, then now at this hotel, our rooms were not remotely close to each other. Not even same building. We are traveling with my mom who is elderly. She and my daughter were initially booked at the other tower, while my husband and I at another tower. We told them, this will not do. So since check in was at 3 yet, they can check again and will do their best to find us rooms in the same tower at least. Killed some time. Came back, we were still separated. It was not the best arrangement… but that was what was available on the first night, I guess. Lo and behold, my mom and my daughter had some issues in their room that night plus the location of the room was like a maze. Hard to get to their room! The A/C shut down in the middle of the night. Next day, we informed the front desk and while they couldn’t promise anything again, they will try to book them in the same tower as us. We did our scheduled tour for the day. Came back to the hotel. My mom and daughter were booked next to our room! What??? How convenient! How accommodating, how considerate. I was asking even a different floor, just same building but wow! Can’t thanked them enough. But overall, the Staff, Front desk people, Bellhop staff, Wait staff, Bartender, Housekeeping, Room service, Spa service, any service you can think of- top notch. Breakfast, don’t get me started. Great spread, awesome choices and the staff-WOW! Very personable. Not to mention making my daughter’s 18th birthday special. Brought a piece of cake at breakfast. Then at night, brought another piece of cake to my daughter’s/mom’s room to end her day! Will I go back to Barcelona? Will I go back to this hotel? The only issue was the construction that was going on around the hotel, which seemed like a common occurrence based on guests I talked to. - markcG9102TU (10/5): Birthday treat - What a fantastic Hotel from arrival to departure. Arrived a little early so could not check in. Not a problem as we had a spot of lunch by the pool,bar and terrace area. Very smart and tidy area. Scrumptious 😋 lunch of nachos,oysters,salad and washed down with champagne 🥂 lovely. When we checked in we were upgraded to a room on the top floor, which had an outside large balcony with a small plunge pool of sorts, absolutely lovely outside area with a small table and chairs to enjoy drinks and food which we did later on plus had a lovely large sunbed. Views overlooking sagrada Familia in the distance and a lot of Barcelona. Our bedroom was indeed large clean and so tidy complimented with tea, coffee machine et cetera and a well stocked up mini fridge bar which we had to pay for. The bathroom twin handbasins large shower and toilet area with a window overlooking the balcony could not be beaten. We were sent up a bottle of champagne and fruit complementary which was indeed a great surprise. Due to the comfortability of our room and balcony we decided to have room service and more drinks which again were all of the highest standards not to mention the service also being exceptional. Buffet breakfast the following morning was a delight with a splendid variety of cooked and chilled items the fruit being my favourite.We went there for my birthday treat and was extremely thrilled with our stay. Cannot wait to go back and wish the management and all the friendly Staff all the best and thank you.

Rooms are spacious. If you get a room with a balcony it is a bonus as you get a nice view of the place.

The hotel itself was immaculate and the food we had each morning at breakfast was good. The kids enjoyed the pool each day although the weather wasn’t the best for us. Our first room was very basic and had a sofa bed rather than a second bed which we had booked. The hotel staff were able to relocate us for the second 2 nights and the next room was far superior. There was a small bar in the lobby which was handy and the pool bar served nice food and was reasonably priced.

- np536 (2/5): Upsetting Room and lying front desk stuff - We recently stayed at your hotel with our family of four — two adults and two young children. While the location is great and close to many attractions and restaurants, our stay was unfortunately very disappointing and concerning on multiple levels. The biggest issue was the TV in our room, which kept turning on by itself every 45 minutes throughout the night. We were already jet-lagged and exhausted, and the constant disruption made it impossible to get any real rest. I eventually had to keep the remote next to me in bed just to repeatedly turn it off through the night. This completely ruined our sleep and affected our entire experience. When we raised the issue with the front desk the next day, we were told something even more disturbing — that sometimes, *guests in other rooms* might be able to control our TV, and *that might be why it kept turning on*. This is not only unacceptable — it’s *creepy* and raises serious concerns about privacy and security. How is this even possible in a hotel setting? To make matters worse, the room phone didn’t work at all, so we had no way of calling down to report the issue during the night. We had to physically go down to the lobby, where we were told to dial 30 or 31 for assistance — information that was never shared with us at check-in. The next morning, a staff member came to our room, apologized, and unplugged the TV. He offered us the breakfast buffet and assured us that we would be compensated in some way for the experience. But we were too tired and unwell to accept food, and instead asked for a refund for one night — which seemed fair given the sleepless night and the disturbing nature of the issue. We were told the manager would need to approve it and that someone would follow up with us via email. But no one ever did. It’s now been several days, and we haven’t heard back from anyone. This is completely unacceptable. We’re not just upset about the lack of sleep — we’re upset about the unfulfilled promises, the deeply concerning explanation about the TV possibly being controlled by other rooms, and the complete lack of follow-through from your management team. We were made to believe someone cared and was going to help make this right — but in the end, nothing happened. We feel lied to and dismissed. This experience was frustrating, unsettling, and completely avoidable — and we deserve a real response and resolution.

- WeeRobbie22 (10/5): Fantastic hotel for guests with a wheelchair user - I booked this hotel based on a Google search for accessible hotels in Barcelona. My wife is a wheelchair user and has always wanted to visit Barcelona, so what better than for her 50th birthday. I can’t fault this hotel for our stay. Easy access into the hotel foyer & reception. The accessible room was ground floor, spacious & the bathroom was perfect for wheelchair use. Reception staff were lovely & always helpful, as were the porters & security guys. Breakfast was down a level but plenty of lifts to use & again, staff were fantastic. Great selection for breakfast too & no complaints. Lastly location, very central & easy to get around either by foot (or powered wheelchair) and close to loads of restaurants, shops & tourist sites. Like I said, struggle to find a fault with the hotel.

Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to an incredible suite—spacious, beautifully designed, and with stunning views. It truly made my stay even more special. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of fresh and high-quality options. From pastries to fresh fruit and perfectly prepared hot dishes, every morning was a treat.

- FAISAL (2/5): Bad for family - Maintenance issues – The location could be good, and the spa could be nice, but the property had multiple maintenance problems. The shower head was yellow, the light lamps were wobbly, and when we arrived, the bed was broken. It was a single bed base, which is unacceptable. As soon as it was fixed, I sat on it, and it broke again. For the price, it’s not worth it. Additionally, I went with my child, and they told us that we couldn’t access the indoor pool with a child. The outdoor pool wasn’t heated, and there was nothing for kids to do. I wouldn’t recommend it for families.

- yuko123go (4/5): Noisy, shaking floors when there is an event - We stayed in a room on the ground floor with 2 young kids. There was an event going on in the basement. In the room, it felt like a disco with the floors shaking. When we requested a room change, the front desk said there was not much they could do as the event was already paid for and the hotel was full. The partying continued until 1am. When I mentioned it to the assistant manager, he was also not apologetic. He just said, "Here in Barcelona, we don't sleep". Basically said he cannot stop people from partying. My point is if you know and are aware, then you put a family with young kids on a higher floor (2nd floor and above). Or you let us know and we would have taken 2 rooms on a higher floor, instead of a family room. Other than that, it is a clean hotel in a fantastic location.

But there were basic things that a hotel as a minimum should provide: - Changing of linen if dirty - Toilet being cleaned (although we didn’t have a toiletbrush) Furthermore, the sofa we had in our room wasn’t clean. We also had an epsiode with the water that suddenly changing from hot to cold temperature. One of the staff-members also spoke obviously to his colleague about things outside work when we were about to be checked in. Also didn’t smile nor greet us afterwards (for the other guests as well). Just had a lazy, weird attitude. But the overall staff were super nice, approchable and welcoming.

Only small downside for me was the gym, which is not really one when you are used to do some daily workout. Outdoor space with swimming pool and bar was very relaxing.

The room itself was fine, some light fixtures were loose. The bathroom was only passable in cleanliness and the air vent emitted an awful whine the entirety of our stay. The interior of the property is not easy to navigate, but the breakfast buffet was lovely. It was fine, but not luxury. Overall, we probably would not return.

The bathroom is especially well designed with a sliding wooden door that dampens the noise and 2 sinks; 2 windows that open; and the toilet (beside the shower stall) is in a separate stall with a door that closes beside the shower stall. This makes it easy for 2 people to use the bathroom simultaneously.
