Guest Reviews
- Camilla (10/5): - The bed was so comfortable!!! Had the best sleep.
- Mark (8/5): - The manager at the B&B was excellent to deal with, very personable and helpful. Each day our mini fridge was re-stocked with fresh fruits/veggies sandwiches and beverages. The room was comfortable and clean. The location was great, very walkable and within a short distance from the Metro station.
- Calea (8/5): - This place feels like you get to live like a local for however long you stay at the B&B! Off of a Main Street so it’s quiet but close to SO many food options, metro/trams, Albert Cuyp market, thrift stores, etc. Very easy to get to the museums by just walking and the rest of Amsterdam is very accessible with the easy transit options. Jasper was very accommodating for our stay and the room was cleaned daily and mini fridge was always stocked which was super helpful! However would not recommend for people with mobility issues due to fact that to get to the balcony room there was a couple flights of very steep stairs that you have to carry your luggage up (Jasper was very kind in helping me and my husband lug our suitcases up) as well as traverse each day when you’re coming and going. But even though the stairs were steep, I thought it added to the Amsterdam charm to the overall experience! Would definitely recommend! :)
- Igor (10/5): - Nice place friendly staff
- A. (10/5): - Great location. Pleasant & informative host. Balcony was excellent. Great shower. Variety of food options in the room. Delicious restaurants all around the neighborhood. The only thing we were taken aback by were the very steep & small stairs we had to go up and down. Regardless, we stay there again!
- Robyn (10/5): Perfect for us - Not Luxtury but great for us. Location was perfect and facilities were much better than a small hotel room. It was spacious and quiet. We could come back in the afternoon and relax and enjoy the room and go back out in the evening. The fridge was well stocked with snacks, drinks and sandwiches. We asked for some extra bits and Jasper was happy to oblige. Would recommend to any other couples exploring Amsterdam.
- Kristin (10/5): incredible! - Amazing stay at this B&B in de Pjip neighborhood.
Very easy to get to on arrival via Metro, and also nearby tram stops. About 10 minutes to Centraal, for example. Safe, hip neighborhood.
Was met by Jasper on arrival and he was super nice, accommodating, and helpful. He showed me everything in detail and explained the locks, etc.
The room is huge, and includes a shower room, separate toilet/sink room, kitchenette, sitting area, and balcony. You should note that the shower room has a pull-down blind rather than a door, so if you are staying with someone with modesty concerns this might be worth considering.
Room includes a safe, soap, iron, wifi, etc. Jasper kept the fridge stocked with SO MUCH food I could not believe it. And, he noticed what i liked and refilled it! This absolutely saved me money on meals, because I would snack on this food and only need to buy one big meal and other snacks during the day.
You should be aware that this is a typical Amsterdam building and therefore has steep, narrow steps. If you have mobility issues or a gigantic bag this is not for you. But if you can do it, it's worth it.
I would absolutely stay here again.
- Patrick (10/5): Great stay - Awesome place, Jasper was the best host… carried our bags up the many steep flights of stairs! The goodies provided in the fridge were a thoughtful tasty touch.
The area is quiet, walkable with many dining options close by. Also the Metro is only 5 minutes away!
Highly recommend!
- Yukiko (10/5): - Jasper is a great host - he is thoughtful and attentive. They clean the rooms and change towels every day - personally, I appreciated the big bath towels! The area is a quiet residential area AND really close to the metro and trams, making everything accessible. It is really close to Zuid station, which is a straight shot from Schiphol airport. I would recommend this little gem to anyone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good spot in a convenient location - The host was very helpful, the bed was comfortable, and it had easy access to public transportation. The mini fridge was stocked with sandwiches, snacks and drinks which was great. The other reviews were right about the stairs, they were steep but it wasn't an issue for us. I would stay again.
- Christine (10/5): - The property was in a lovely section of town. Easy train ride to touristy section. Room was cozy & has snacks. Replenished every day. Host,Jasper was so helpful. There are very steep steps to 3rd floor, but Jasper carried our luggage up & down. We would definitely stay here again.
- John (8/5): - There were 3 flights of very steep stairs to our room (it is Amsterdam after all) but our host Jasper was very friendly and helpful and moved the suitcases up and down. It is very convenient to trams, the Metro, and shops and restaurants. Some things could have been in better condition, like the stained carpet, but this was a good base for exploring Amsterdam, particularly the art museums. Very quiet at night, too. And a small kitchen and a fridge with a lot of food was provided. Recommended.
- Krista (10/5): - This place is just wonderful. Had a stocked mini fridge which was such a delight. Jasper helped us carry our bags up and down the stairs. They are very steep but we knew that when we booked it. Bed was very comfortable and there was AC which was great because we it hot in Amsterdam during our trip.
- Amrita (10/5): - Jasper is a wonderful host! He was very helpful. He kept the room very clean and the refrigerator stocked with food and coffee! I enjoyed my stay there very much!
- Don (8/5): - We really liked the area and especially Jesper, everything was clean and as advertised. The only problem for us was the four flights of stairs, that are steep and somewhat difficult. We would still recommend staying, just be careful on the steps.
- Wendy (10/5): Lived everything about this place. - Amazing host. Filled the fridge daily with great choices. Location was perfect. Large airy space with beautiful balcony.
- Kristine (10/5): - This place was perfect! We felt safe and taken care of the whole time!
- Bobby (10/5): - Lovely room, lots of food with a very friendly host.
- Lisa (10/5): Great place - We were met at the door and he was so kind and friendly! Took our bags up for us as there were lots of stairs and they were steep. Also provided food/beverage and cleaned while we were out!!
- Ernest (8/5): - Property is all and more than is advertised. Only down side I steep stairs to get to room.
- Christine (10/5): - Jasper was a great host. Mini bar and food excellent. Bed comfortable & shower hot & strong. Even helped us when tv didn't work . Excellent stay.
- Orlando (10/5): Super recommend - Nestled in the heart of Amsterdam, my recent stay at this charming B&B was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. The room itself was impeccably clean and tastefully decorated, boasting all the comforts one could desire for a relaxing getaway. The plush bedding ensured a restful night's sleep, and the convenience of having a fridge stocked with delicious food every day added an extra layer of comfort to my stay. The location of the B&B couldn't have been more perfect, situated within walking distance of Amsterdam's iconic attractions and vibrant nightlife. Yet, despite its central location, the tranquil ambiance of the B&B offered a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. What truly sets this B&B apart, however, is the exceptional service provided by the dedicated staff. From offering personalized recommendations to ensuring every need was met, their attention to detail surpassed my expectations and left a lasting impression. Overall, my stay at this B&B was an unforgettable experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to fellow travelers seeking a memorable stay in Amsterdam. Thank you to the entire team for making my weekend getaway truly special.
- Chris (10/5): - Good room and the host was awesome. Very friendly service and felt looked after. Will definitely stay again in the future.
- Leigh (10/5): Great B&B - Check in was super easy, the host, Jadper was friendly and showed us how everything worked. Breakfast and snacks spot on, and the location was fantastic. Close to the Metro and bars/restaurants, yet super quiet.
- Sameer (8/5): - Great room. Nice and convenient location. Jasper was great and, he went above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. The only issue for me was the hotel stairs were too steep for four floors. It wouldn't have been possible for me to lift my luggage there alone if Jasper wasn't there to help me carry it up and down.
- Trevor (10/5): - The staff is very accomodating and responsive.
- JP (10/5): - Convenient roon in Amsterdam, very friendly and accommodating staff
- Alex (10/5): Great place - We have stayed at Adriaen van Ostade B&B for three night and would highly recommend this place. Jasper is a great and very responsible host. Our room was clean and fridge was refilled with fruits, cheese, soft drinks, beers and sandwiches daily. Nespresso machine with caps was the great addition.
As many other reviwers mentioned the steps to the third/fourth floor are very steep. Was't the issue for us. Jasper took care of all our heavy bags and lifted them to the room.
Location is quiet, safe, close to Subway and at a walking distance to many attractions
Great place to stay.
- Dennis (10/5): A Real Gem - Located in the heart of Old Amsterdam within walking distance to major museums and excellent transportation. Owner went out of his way to help in any possible way. Refrigerator in the room stocked with all sorts of goodies as part of the room package. Extremely narrow and steep stairs up to the forth floor was the only drawback.
- Connie (8/5): - Jasper was very nice and helpful including taking our bags to our one-story walk up. As others have mentioned beware that this property has a steep narrow stairway. We were on the first floor, so it was manageable. While we didn't have enough time to enjoy it, the balcony was a nice addition. The stocked refrigerator was helpful as we were jet-lagged and not wanting to look for dining options the first night. Overall we were pleased with our choice. Kitchen and bath could use some upgrading but it was acceptable for our needs.
- Linda (10/5): - Easy to walk to many places or take transit. Lovely balcony and mini fridge topped up without charge.
- Yaniv (10/5): Comfortable, quiet and central - Excellent location in the Pijp neighborhood, if you want to avoid the touristic area and noise as we did. Jasper the host was fantastic, very helpful and informative. The pictures are less welcoming but overall we were very satisfied from our stay. One issue that you might consider is if you have problems with stairs and the floor of the room was also on the 4th floor so this should be taken in concideration.
- william (10/5): - Owner is great, very nice and friendly. Free bottle of wine and food in the refrigerator.
Steep staris
- Gilbert (10/5): - We were welcomed by one of the owners and he answered all our questions. The room was quite large, fridge full of goods and drinks. We were on the 4th floor...be prepared for narrow winding stairs...so pack light!!
- Kimberley (10/5): - This is one of the best BnB's I've ever stayed in. The area is safe and quiet, conveniently located near to tram and metro stops. The room itself is perfect. We didn't make use of the balcony due to the cold temperatures and rain at the time of our stay. But it would've made for a lovely spot to relax after a long day, or to have morning coffee. The bed is large and very comfortable. The shower is spacious, with hot and cold water, and body wash. The kitchenette is well-equipped with dishes, cutlery, a nespresso coffeemaker and kettle. The entire apartment is very clean and we had no complaints. Jasper is a wonderful host; he kept the fridge stocked with so many different things every day, we couldn't eat or drink them all; even a bottle of wine! He also carried our (heavy) suitcases up and down the very narrow staircase, which we appreciated immensely.
All in all, I cannot recommend this stay more, and would definitely return on my next Amsterdam visit.
- William (10/5): - Ideal for anyone looking to visit Amsterfam away from the tourist parts. Property was in a prime location with excellent transport links. Very clean, very well stocked fridge upon our arrival and overall the description was as accurate as possible. Would stay again.
- Morgan (10/5): Private, quiet, great location and value - Fantastic location. Stairs are a bit challenging if you aren’t 100% mobile. Very private apartment, lovely little terrace, little comforts and comfortable bed. Great value for money.
- Timothy C (10/5): - Great service by Jasper.
He keeps the refrigerator stocked with little sandwiches and fresh fruit and drinks.
I’d stay again!
Steep stairs, but he assists with bags.
- theodore (10/5): - Jasper was an excellent host
- Arkadiy (10/5): - Excellent hotel. Host was very friendly and helpful. The fridge was full. Everything was close.
- Michelle (10/5): - Was greeted by the host upon arrival. Showed us how to use the key to enter the building and our room. Fridge was stocked with fruits, variety of drinks, sandwiches and wine. Room is big and the area is quiet so we were able to sleep well. Would book again!
- Cynthia Lou (10/5): - Jasper was the ultimate host. He helped us find the metro, purchase tickets, and saw us off. The room was well stocked with goodies and beverages. However, If you cannot climb stairs this property might not be for you.
- Mike (10/5): - Jasper was there to greet us and assist with carrying our luggage up the steep staircase. The welcome bottle of wine along with the daily stocked refrigerator was a very nice touch. Room is spacious and clean. Jasper allowed us to store our luggage after checkout and also assisted in getting our luggage to the ground floor and calling a cab. We would highly recommend this place to anyone.
- Manuel (8/5): Cute - The owners were very helpful, and it is a cute room. However, ours was up four flights of very steep steps which some people might find impossible to climb, especially with luggage (although the staff helped us). Just keep that in mind when booking.
- David (10/5): - Staff were super helpful and accomodating.
- Cheryl (10/5): - Great host and fantastic property. Loved our stay and it was a great area. Thank you so much Jasper, it was a fantastic stay
- Alejandro (10/5): - Worth the money
- Petrina (10/5): - Very friendly and accommodating host, room very clean, comfy beds. It was also nice to have complimentary sandwiches and drinks
- Tim (10/5): - A cozy place to stay. Jasper is a great host. He kindly offered to put my stuff in the dryer after I became completely soaked during a traditional Dutch rain storm
- Joshua (10/5): Excellent stay - Jasper was friendly and accomodating. The flat was clean and the complimentary food and drink was a lovely touch, the bed was comfortable and the shower was good. One of the best neighbourhood's to stay in Amsterdam, away from the bustle of tourists but in an area with plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from with a short walk to a metro that takes you into Amsterdam central. Could not recommend more.
- Ido (10/5): - Lovely place, spacious for Amsterdam, conveniently located and nicely priced. Very clean, has a coffee machine and comes with a fridge well-stocked with breakfast & snack items.
- Sylvester (8/5): a 😃 - Nice
- Bav (10/5): - A beautiful traditional Dutch property, a lovely balcony room and a great location.
The host, Jasper, was more than helpful too.
I couldn't commend highly enough.
- J.A.J. (8/5): Very good adress for me, will come back - 4 very steep stairs. Typical for such an old authentic house.
But the landlord was very helpfull with getting the suitcase to my room.
Very nice room, good batroom, a filled up cooler. Breakfast items, drinks, wine, beer, sweets, water, etc. All for free !!!
200+ ( international)- tv-channels.
And most important : Very quiet. And that's not a given in such a lively busy city.
- Jessica (10/5): - I really liked that the train was a block away from the hotel and the tram was close as well. Jasper was very kind and welcoming. He made sure that we understood how to unlock the doors, knew where all the amenities were, and even provided us with a map of the city. The room was clean and large. We were able to comfortably get ready and always found a clean room and a fridge full of snacks when we came back to the hotel. I would definitely book again and recommend to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The apartment was spacious and had all the amenities to make it an ideal home away from home.
Jasper was super accommodating and restocked our frig on a daily basis.
Al in all, a great place to stay in Amsterdam .
- Chris (10/5): - Really enjoyed the free refreshments - snacks, beers, sandwiches, etc. Bed was very comfortable. Great spacious shower with good water flow. Balcony overlooking courtyard was a nice treat despite the cool weather.
- Adnan (10/5): Nice place - Nice room, host, full complimentary fridge. Nice location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our stay at Adrienne ‘s was a complete surprise. The stairs are a challenge, so beware if your mobility is reduced. Jasper was amazing taking our luggage up, we managed to bring our own luggage down, even though Jasper offered to return to bring it down.. Once up, our balcony room was a delight. The snacks and beverages in the fridge were so welcome. Jasper was a great source of information on the sights of Amsterdam and the location was great.
- MICHAEL (8/5): - Good service and very helpful
- TM (10/5): - Nice location for RAI and good food and drinks
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay. Fantastic clean and quiet space, comfy bed, great shower and the fridge was a fabulous bonus. Jasper is a very lovely man and super helpful. Evenings spent in the gorgeous De Pijp area were the highlight of our amazing visit. We can't wait to come back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location in de pijp, very easy to wander to the Van Gogh museum and other attractions. Jasper the host was very welcoming and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - staff responded to requests and were very helpful
nibbles in the frig were good had a good variety and ample
- Linda (10/5): - It was excellent.
- jonathan (10/5): The harts Amsterdam trip - Great host, ideal location for metro station cafe bars and market. Well stocked fridge with beer and snacks, even a welcome bottle of wine. Thanks for a great stay jasper.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great comfortable convenient and friendly place to - Had a great stay. Large top floor room with welcoming bottle of wine and a fridge full of food for breakfast and general munching. Jasper always helpful and friendly. Helped carry suitcases up and ordered taxi for us when leaving.
Approx 20 mins walk to museums or easy tram/metro ride 5mins walk away.
Lots of restaurants in area.
Will stay again next time in Amsterdam and recommend to friends.
If you cannot walk up 4 flights of steep stairs this is not the place for u!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Large room, very helpful host, and a well-stocked fridge.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Jasper was very helpful and we loved being able to munch on the goodies in the fridge while relaxing on the balcony
- Ross (10/5): Good choice - Great place, high stairs
- Hunter (10/5): Weekend in Amsterdam - Had an amazing weekend staying here, great room for couples and in a great location. The hospitality was great as well.
- Graham (10/5): - Friendly, helpful host
- Bruno (10/5): - Pleasantly surprised, very nice B&B in the best area in town. Clean, comfortable, nice, private. Better than I thought it would be. The free mini bar touch is a game changer! Totally recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice B&B - A lovely stay in a clean, cosy setting.
All our needs we catered for and we could not have asked for a nicer host.
Within walking distance of main attractions and a very pleasant stay.
Would definately recommend to others.
- Bradley (10/5): Perfect hospitality and great local area. - Great location. The host Jasper was so welcoming. Felt like a home away from home. Some snacks and drinks provided daily at no extra cost. Perfect for business or leisure.
- Brian (10/5): Professionally run B&B w/ Charming Personal Touch - This place was wonderful - definitely was a bit of a splurge for us, but also a great value! The room was large, and well appointed. We were given our choice. There are extra little touches and amenities at every turn, and an amazing kitchen and living room upstairs which we used to receive guests. WAY better than a hotel. Jesper was amazing - he met us at the door and carried our ample luggage up the stairs for us (which are quite steep, but that's how most Amsterdam stairs are) and spent quite a bit of time with us getting us settled in the room and making sure we were comfortable. He wouldn't even accept a tip! His warm hospitality throughout our stay was kind of like the icing on this delicious cake. I have stayed several places in Amsterdam and this was by far the best value for the money. Book without hesitation
- Amandeep (10/5): One man - Good location as I know the area very clean property big spacious room with friendly staff cheaper than hotels and a lot better will definitely book again
- Arturas (10/5): Amsterdam visit - The place is very well situated within walking ditance from the city centre. The room was very clean, we had breakfast, snacks and beers restocked every day. The host was very friendly and helpful, unlike any other we have met before! Would certainly recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Jasper is the man - Great place. Jasper is the best.
- Dr. Paul (10/5): Great stay - Excellent in everyway!!!
- Ninian John (10/5): An amazing place to stay - Our stay here was amazing! The area is quiet and very pretty. The apartment is spacious and clean with all the toiletries you could need. There are complimentary drinks and snacks in the fridge. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming and were happy to offer recommendations of lots of things to do in Amsterdam. We would love to stay here again.
- Roger (10/5): Awesome - The room is very spacious with fridge, microwave and amenities for tea, coffee. Jasper is very friendly and stocked the fridge with water, juices, beer and even provided a bottle of wine. The steps to the rooms are very steep but the room on the floor above the ground floor was manageable.
- Harvey (10/5): 10/10 - Great location in a less touristy part of the city but within easy reach of bars, restaurants and attractions. Nice spacious room with everything you could need and more and the host is great too! Would highly recommend to anyone
- Tolga (10/5): - great area, very good size, clean, modern room, pretty balcony, very good service, competitive price. only downside was uncomfortably soft beds and pillows in our room..
- Sudish (10/5): - Really Great place , I'm sure you will not regret . The owner Jasper was exceptionally helpful. We enjoyed ou stay in April.
- Sarah (8/5): Visit to Amsterdam - The location for us was great. Short walk to the Van Gough Museum and Rijksmuseum. Short tram ride to the Heineken experience, canal tours, and other Amsterdam city attractions. The proprietor, Jasper, was a great host. The room refrigerator was well stocked the whole time we were there at no extra charge. The breakfast was optional but a good deal as we used it twice over the 3 mornings we were there. We will return upon our next visit to Amsterdam.
- FEDOR (10/5): spacious, nice located, with friendly staff - Friendly staff, spacious room, all required facilities and nice location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place, great neighborhood, great price. - Great stay; great host. I really enjoyed myself, and wanted to stay longer, it it was booked. One caveat, the stairs are very steep and there's no lift. While this is common in Holland, if you have a lot of luggage it might be a problem.
- Tony & Julia (10/5): Fabulous Place - Great B&B - excellent facilities and good location, close to tram stop and wonderful local cafes and restaurants. Jasper was incredibly hospitable and let us check in early and kept our luggage safe on the last day. Just perfect. Thank you.
- anthony (10/5): wow - felt like we were locals Jesper did it all got to love the ambience
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great choice for our trip to Amsterdam - The pictures for the balcony room don't do it justice - it's so spacious, has a huge comfy bed, pleasant lightly options, small kitchen area with a stocked up fridge of beers and fizzy drinks, eggs, chocolates all included. You are greeted with a bottle of wine and two glasses ready to get you into the holiday mood.
Lovely park nearby, lovely coffee shops with plenty of food and drink options. Jesper, the host, is very friendly, ensures you are happy and takes an interest in you as travelers. He was always on hand when we needed him, let us check in early and even gifted us with his local knowledge of getting Anne Frank tickets online an hour before we wanted to go (TIP: there are cancelled tickets available on the website every day!) which was amazing.
- TB (8/5): well-equipped; long stair case; location fairly go - The lug of luggage up and down narrow staircase for four floors was a schlepp. Chain saw one morning at 7:15 am outside, below room on street, one day. attendant friendly and helpful at beginning, but is not on site except if one calls. room well-equipped, beds good, location decent, on south end of main part of town. tram ride (#16) from train station necessary, but in pleasant part of town, 12 min walk from Rikjsmuseum.
- Jim (8/5): Great Amsterdam Style Get a Way - We stayed four nights and walked to city center each day, about 25 minutes. It was great exercise and allowed us to see many stores and sites along the way. The B&B was a great place to relax at night with a glass of wine (provided by Jasper), and have our own breakfast in the room with eggs, coffee, and fruit that Jasper provided. The room was clean and comfortable (beds were a little soft). Jasper doesn't accept credit cards for payment so be prepared with Euros.
- Donald (10/5): Excellent B&B for visiting museum quarter! - My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the balcony room. Jasper was very friendly and helpful getting us situated and providing information to us. The room was large and comfortable with a very comfortable bed. The shower was the largest I've seen in my stays in Europe. The four flights of narrow, circular steps seems a bit daunting, but were easily conquered. The easy access to the museum quarter is excellent! I highly recommend this B&B and would not hesitate to return.
- Kenneth (10/5): - This was just what we wwre looking for - a very helpful owner, ability to make meals when we wanted, very quiet, effectively a while floor to ourselves
- Tom (10/5): World-Class Hospitality - For four days the Adriaen van Ostade B&B was our delightful home away from home in Amsterdam. We were greeted warmly by Jasper, one of the two owners, who helped get our bags upstairs and was extremely helpful in getting us oriented with how to get around town, using their computer to print boarding passes, etc. The in-room fridge was stocked with a great variety of local beers plus wine, other drinks, Dutch cheese, chocolate, snacks - even eggs we could boil! We signed up for breakfast the first day and had our choice of just about everything imaginable, all fresh and delicious. The room was spacious and clean with modern furnishings, a comfy bed, great shower, and a wonderful balcony where we could enjoy happy hour and watch birds in the backyard trees. We've traveled around the world and have run guest cabins ourselves, so can say that this was a first-class operation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent B&B in up and coming , trendy area. We had a lovely stay and didn't want to leave !
- Ross (10/5): Best hotel I have ever stayed!!!! - I didn't realize customer service like this still existed. Amazing! Examples, we arrived to many gifts waiting for us, such as wine champagne, drinks, cheese, and chocolates. All were complimentary. When we forgot our key at the hotel, Jesper (the host) brought our key to the airport so we wouldn't miss our flight. The room was very big and close the the mesuem quarter. The room was quiet, cozy, and the bed may have been the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I could go on but I think you get the picture.
- Stewart (10/5): All good - Great host, very helpful, location good, we loved the breakfast snacks, I recommend!
- Francisco (10/5): Nice quiet place to stay - B&B:
Good:
The staff member I was in contact with was extremely helpful and went the person I spoke to went out of his way to make my stay pleasant. The room came with a safe, an en suite bathroom, a hair drier, and the B&B even provided an iron and mini ironing board. The location was on a quiet street near to a tram line and with shops and places to eat nearby. The Rijksmuseum (and the Van Gogh museum, which is virtually next door) was within reasonable walking distance. A map was provided by the owner and there was a a space to park my bike just outside. A fridge in the room was stocked with snacks a mixture of drinks. That was included in the room rate. The common area was just outside my room. Towels, toothbrush, toothpaste and shower gel were provided as was a soap dispenser next to the wash basin. Coffee making facilities and satellite TV are also in the room and, also, the common area.
Neutral:
The wash basin was in the room. The en suite just had shower and toilet (plus space to hang towels). Breakfast is left (mostly self service) in the common area at 8am til noon.
Bad:
The stairs are narrow and steep but that's quite normal in Amsterdam. Some jet noise but airlines only occasionally fly over that part.
