- Margaret (6/5): Grand Concerto Hotel-not very grand!! - Excellent early check in but rooms were very small, no drawers to put underwear etc in, no hook on a door to hang outdoor clothing and not enough hangers on the small wardrobe. Air conditioning was very good. Staff not at all friendly, some didn’t even speak when we said good morning and on check out didn’t say a word! Location was very good as only a 2 minute walk to Paddington station, plenty of shops and cafes in the area and a 5 minute walk to Hyde Park. To say the hotel has only just been refurbished there was an awful lot of dirty marks on the walls and one of our rooms overhead shower squirted sideways so hit you in the face when the door was open and went all over the floor.

- Hayley (10/5): - I have been staying in various hotels around Paddington for work and this is by far the best. The lobby was welcoming (and smelt nice!) and the room was super comfortable, bathroom was modern/clean. I will definitely stay here again.

Nowhere to open or store a suitcase, no drawers, no desk, no chairs to sit in, not even enough room to walk around the bed
- Lori (8/5): - The room was booked to accommodate 4 adults which it did, however it was in the basement and felt a bit claustrophobic. I might not have booked if I knew ahead of time it was below ground. There was also a used bath towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. Everything else looked clean and was probably just overlooked but still not a great thing to give you confidence that the room was cleaned properly. The staff was kind and the location great.

Funcionários muito gentis e prestativos. Quarto pequeno mas reformado, com ótima cama e ducha, cafeteira, único porém foi que meu quarto era no subsolo, não tinha janela. Gostei muito, voltarei com certeza.

One thing I didn’t like was the keycard system to turn on/off the light - it was inconvenient if you just need a small light. Overall everything was fantastic and I would definitely choose to stay here again!

The hotel was easy to find, they offered water & coffee while we waited for our room. Convenient to restaurants, Hyde/Kensington Park, shops & very nice pub - The Victoria - 2 blocks away. Clean & quiet - our room was on the lower level -typical of many London hotels. Paddington Station has a grocery store, lots of convenient shops & Tube Station. City sites 20 minutes away on the Tube.

Room was extremely tiny, would have been perfect for one person but with two people and two carry on suitcases you could barely move. Bed was very comfortable, room was very clean, amenities were good. Very great location, lots of shops annd restaurants nearby and very close to the trains with Piccadilly Circus only minutes away. Only other complaint would be the shower. Water would cut in and out multiple times during a shower, was very hard and took a long time to actually clean.
- Marthe (10/5): - Et koselig hotell som ligger sentralt og nær tube. Rommene er ganske små og trange, men på en feriereise så brukes rommet kun til å sove å stelle seg så det er overkommelig. Frokosten er inne i en koselig hule, men utvalget var lite men det var godt.
- Mona (6/5): Grand concerto hotel - Fint lite men koselig hotel. Sentral med bare 3 min til Paddington stasjon. Minus var at vi fikk rom helt nede ut mot bakgard. Pga innsyn og aktivitet i bakgård ble persiennen på vindu værende nede og vi følte oss litt innestengt.

Cependant, de nombreux points négatifs : - nous avons eu une chambre en sous-sol, toute petite et sans fenêtre et après multiples vérifications, cela n’était mentionnée nul part lors de notre réservation. L’impression d’étouffer parfois malgré le purificateur d’air, très bruyant mais ducoup impossible à laisser la nuit. - notre chambre était très bruyante : sous-sol = bruit et vibrations du métro, personnel parfois peu discret (chambre située à côté d’une réserve pour le personnel), mauvaise insonorisation des murs… - Petit déjeuner assez restreint en terme de choix. On ne s’est pas sentis bien dans cette chambre. Nous ne considérons donc pas qu’elle valait le prix important que nous avons payé pour 4 nuits.

- Annalisa (4/5): Give this hotel a miss - My room was very small and at the time of are stay it was very warm and the fridge in the bedroom which had water in was not switched on so the washing was warm. On the day we departed a fire alarm went off st 7am which we did not appreciate as we had till 11am to check out . No communication from staff telling us what time reception was open till do the main doors lock at a certain time and upon checking out was never asked how are stay was i will not be stayed at this hotel again

- Nga Lai (4/5): - It’s an awful experience to stay. The isolation fan in the toilet didn’t work. We asked the staff to fix but they said nothing could be done at the weekend. On Monday, still no one came to fix it. The walls were so thin that we could hear water running in the pipes and the sewage, even the air conditioner was making some sound of water dripping. There’re always flies in the room even you drove them out. They kept coming in. There must be a ‘fly door’ somewhere. One night at 5 am, the smoke detector siren went off for a minute. We asked for a change of the room but the staff said the type of room wasn’t available and they couldn’t upgrade our room. That meant we could just accept downgraded services without even an apology.

- Sally (10/5): - Very friendly staff at the hotel. Hotel was very close to Paddington station and was so easy to navigate around London. The hotel itself was very clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. The rooms were small but ok for the purpose it was intended of just somewhere to lay your head. I liked the little personal touches of having a selection of hot drinks and pastries in the reception, free bottled water in the rooms and also being able to leave luggage on the day or arrival and departure.

One shortcoming was that there was a strip of bright white LED lights above the bed in the room that couldn't be turned off at night. When I called the person at reception they said this was a security feature in all rooms and couldn't be turned off. They were so bright it made it almost impossible to sleep.

- Paul (6/5): - The breakfast area was a tad claustrophobic and the food a little mediocre. But the new hotel conversion has made the most of the building and it’s safe and very convenient. The staff are excellent - polite and efficient.
- Christine (6/5): - The Grand Concerto Hotel (formerly Castleton Hotel per my credit card) has improved from what looked like a nightmare online. Great location near Paddington Station - perfect for travel and good value for the price. It looks really nice inside too - but the rooms are small so keep that in mind. The customer service, however, was seriously lacking. When I needed laundry info, staff said they don't offer it and claimed not to know any nearby places (Central Wash and Lilas are walking distance per Google). Worse was at 3 AM departure when my phone internet wasn't working (there was no trains running at this time, no taxis outside either) - not their fault, but I asked for a taxi number. They refused to help, saying "they don't do this." A staff member was watching videos on a laptop but wouldn't look up a taxi company. Most hotels would at least give you a phone number or call one for you. Had to walk to Paddington at 3 AM where security actually helped me. Nearly missed my flight. And again it is not their problem, but as a traveler this was something I never experienced at any accommodation. Staff handled basic requests like toilet paper fine but showed zero problem-solving skills for actual travel needs. The buffet was okay too, but there is also a good place called Mimo's across the street. Bottom line: Excellent location and price, but don't expect help beyond the absolute basics. Have backup plans ready and if you encounter a problem, try and solve it on your own.
