Guest Reviews
- Sarah (4/5): - Firstly, this was a small room in a shared condo. As an Anerican, the term "B&B" made me picture a hotel-like environment with breakfast (the listing said continental breakfast added for a surcharge - but no breakfast was offered during the weeklong stay).
As a shared living space, there is a hall with a callbox on it for people to buzz in. Unfortunately this happened several times late at night, once waking us at 1am the day we were due to travel home and really didn't want to be tired. Oh well.
Yes, the bathroom was private. However, the shower drain desperately needed to be snaked, as it nearly flooded about 3 minutes into the first shower. We took to shutting off the water when going to wash ourselves or our hair to prevent a mess.
We were provided about 1.5 rolls of toilet paper. We didn't want to bug them and thought we'd have the room cleaned after just the 1st day there, but we weren't always out of the room between 10am-11am (the timeframe to have the room cleaned), so we ended up having to buy our own toilet paper by about the 3rd day. Oops.
On the plus side, the air conditioner worked! But it leaked on the floor, so we had to use one of our only towels to dedicate it to soaking that up daily.
The TV didn't work, which was fine. We weren't there for TV.
We were charged 72 euros for the Rome city taxes, but we had already paid through Expedia. We weren't told about this in our communication with the property ahead of time. Unfortunate.
- Julienne (10/5): - Quick and responsive, had to pay for late check-in due to very delayed flights, but pretty standard!
- Lisa (8/5): Convenient place near the colosseum - The owner was nice and helpful. We got there late (after 9:30pm) so she met us then. We didn't know there was a charge of 10 euros after 8:30pm, 20 euros after 10:30pm, 30 euros after 11:30pm, 50 euros after 12am. I didn't know the room is only serviced between 10-11am so we couldn't get fresh towels the second day. You have to let her know before 11am each day when you will be gone.
Also, for Americans, the lack of a toilet seat and lid are somethings that are difficult to adjust to. The room was clean. The area was nice and easy to get to the colosseum, restaurants, etc.
- Bruno (10/5): Great place to stay in Rome, right next to Coliseo - Our short stay here was excellent. Stefano helped us getting accommodated and allowed us to store our luggage before and after our stay, while we were touring Rome. The only caveat was that we had to pay €6 per day, per person that we didn't know it was required.
- Gordon (8/5): - Host was great. Location was great.
- Richard (6/5): It's a room. - Close to Coliseum and Forum, it's just a room off the beaten path, nothing fancy. My estimation is should have been cheaper (cost) for what it was.
- Caesar (10/5): Nice facilities close to city center - Excellent! Oops! Please add a bit more to your review. === > Not much to add as everything was OK!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Location to everything in Rome - Very nice place to stay while in Rome. Right down the street from Termini and are in walking distance to a lot of the major attractions.
- Karen (8/5): - Really enjoyed our stay at this family run b&b. Very clean, good location & Domenico was really helpful. Once we got the hang of the coffee machine the coffee was fab! Thoroughly recommend! Karen from Scotland
- Matt (6/5): B & B Colosium - This B & B is actually a rented apartment, they provide pre packed snacks as the breakfast. One A/C didn't work, locks to enter we're difficult to operate as they were worn, bathroom window opens onto next doors courtyard. But location was good, close to centre and the Colosium etc, OK but not worth the money charged.
- Jen (10/5): Great place and great Price for stay in Rome! - The hotel was great. Very good location, clean, refrigerator in room. Dominic, the owner met us on arrival and took us to our room and also arranged a taxi to pick us up from the hotel to bring us to the airport when we checked out. The price was below the going rate. The wifi worked most of the time from our room. We will definitely stay here on our next trip.
- Valerie M (10/5): Not just a B&B - This was really an apartment. It consisted of three rooms - sitting/dining room, spacious bathroom and a large bedroom. Breakfast was provided, with a small fridge, microwave & coffee machine available. Crockery and cutlery was also provided and was all provided for in enclosed cupboards. There was a double bed and a separate lounge which would also sleep two. Another lounge was also provided in the sitting room. The position of the place was excellent, being situated closer to the Termini train station and very close to the Colosseum . In fact, it is close to everything. The apartment was very clean, with some-one coming every day to make the bed and clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good value - Staff was very helpful via email before our arrival until our depature. Walking distance to major attractions & the Termini.
We only stayed one night before our cruise. Metro station is footsteps away. Able to catch the metro to the Termini(luggage too heavy to walk distance)
- Verified traveler (10/5): ideal pied-a-terre in Rome - We strongly recommend this B&B. We stayed eight nights and found it very enjoyable, as well as centrally located on via Cavour. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable, and there's good water pressure and constant hot water in the bathroom. Lighting is excellent, which is not always the case in European hotels and guesthouses. Domenico is very pleasant and helpful. You can easily walk to many attractions -- Colosseum, Forums, Palatine, Campidoglio, plus museums and churches near Termini Train Station. Also right near Cavour metro station and useful bus routes. The only negative aspect is that you must pay in cash, which is inconvenient for a stay of more than a few days.
- Verified traveler (10/5): 6 Nights in Rome - The owner was very friendly and helpful. The guy owns an awesome leather shop half a block from the room.
- Merete (10/5): Via Cavour/ Own entrance to the apartment complex - Very nice apartment complex, the owner is at service all day in his shop on Via Cavour. Nice bedroom/ with doublebed and also nice bathroom. A little bit noice from the street at night, but when you have been sightseeing all day, no problem to fall asleep ;-) Via Cavour 15 minutes walk to the Colosseum, and 15 min. walk up to Termini station where the shuttle bus stops for airport transport.
- Agata (10/5): Graet location and lovely, clean room - We stayed at Doenico Scorza (Colosseo B&B) for 5 nights.
First 3 nights we spent in the pink room and last two in the blue room. Must admit that the pink room was nicer, howeve both were very clean with an en suite, air con, clean towels, mini fridge full of water, milk and orrange juice. Very quiet room on a third floor (there is a lift though) with a very comfortable bed - slept well every night.
The area is very safe and most importantly the B&B is only 5 minutes away from breathtaking Colosseum! It meant we could go to see it every evening :)
The place is very easy to find, about 10 mins walking from Termini. There is also Metro on the same street, very convenient. Everything is in walking distance - we used public transport only once throughout the stay and it was to get to Ostia Antica which is about 16 miles outside Rome (worth seeing by the way).
To walk to Pantheon and Trevi will take you 15-20 mins of a pleasant walk.
Domenico is very friendly and helpful. He had the room ready for us well before check in time as we had asked for that.
If you are looking for a place to stay that is convenient, safe and clean - well you should book the room at Domenico Scorza (Colosseo) B&B :)
- Katie (10/5): Amazing stay in Rome! - We loved this B&B. It was very comfortable and just a few minutes away from the Colosseum on foot. Domenico was very accommodating and the rooms were clean and quiet. It is worth mentioning that Domenico owns a shop just a few doors down from the apartment and is very accessible for questions regarding the city. It is close to the main train station and Metro and various coffee shops and bakeries. We are two girls in our 20s and we felt very safe staying at Domenico Scorza B&B. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast!
