• VINCENT (1/5): Deceptive Avoid Avoid! - Communication was good, given directions to the accommodation good We booked this accommodation specifically because the Booking.com listing was located in Trastevere. However, the room we were actually assigned was about a 12-minute walk away, across the river in the Jewish Quarter. While the host did send the correct address by email afterward, the listing itself is misleading and should have been a completely separate listing with the actual location clearly stated. Advertising it as being in Trastevere is completely deceptive. The building itself is very old and the room is on the second floor with very little natural light, and no elevator, which may be difficult for guests with heavy luggage or mobility concerns. The air conditioner was fairly weak, although this was manageable because the weather during our stay was pleasant. Unfortunately, several other comfort issues affected the experience: the water pressure was poor, the Wi-Fi connection was inconsistent and spotty, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable and lumpy. Overall, the inaccurate location listing was the biggest disappointment, and combined with the room comfort issues, we would not recommend or stay here again.

• Z5379AIdenised (10/5): Excellent hotel in the heart of Trastevere - Stayed here in the heart of Trastevere for our first trip to Rome. The hotel staff were all lovely. In advance of coming, I had emailed about how to get to the hotel from the airport, and they gave very specific and easy to follow directions on different types of transport. We did public transport and it was really easy. The location cannot be beat; right in the heart of all that is happening in Trastevere. On check in the gave a list of recommended places to eat, from street food to sit down dinner. We tried most of them and they were all excellent. The staff were super kind and friendly, and couldn't have been nicer. The hotel itself is charming, clean and centrally located. We hope to be back soon!

We found the staff to be gracious and helpful. We loved our room, the architecture of the building was amazing. Being in the Trastevere area of Rome was definitely the right choice. Walkable, great restaurants and fun energy. We would return here without hesitation.

We could walk to many attractions, and really enjoyed the quieter street with very good restaurant choices. We also found the apartment charming, clean, functional, and comfortable with good wifi. The Studio fit our family of 4 very comfortably with a sofa sleeper downstairs, full size bed upstairs, and a twin bed in a separate room upstairs as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to book a place with a small group of friends or small family. Only downside was there was 1 bathroom and most of the channels on the TV did not work.

• K4965CXnicoleg (10/5): Great location in Trastevere! - We stayed in the One Bedroom Apartment with our adult child. The entrance is next door to the main entrance and is on the second floor...about 40 steps up because in Italy the second floor is the American third floor. We received very clear communications and directions for entering the apartment and for details regarding cleanings, payments and check out. Someone was always available via What's App to answer our questions. The room was very spacious with a separate twin bed for our child. There is a kitchen area with stove top, sink, large refrigerator, microwave and a clothes washer. It was stocked with dishes, etc. The bathroom also had plenty of supplies. We really appreciated the many hooks in the entrance and bathroom as we were there during the rainy season and it helped to hang wet items. The location is great and very near the Piazza di Santa Marie in Trastevere and many restaurants, shops and grocery stores. There is even a public water fountain right outside the buiding door! It is a less than five minute walk to two taxi stands, the bus stop and the tram stop, and therefore, it was easy to utilize all of those to reach the Vatican and all other parts of Rome. We really had a great stay at Hotel Residenza San Calisto as our home base!

The managers and staff were exceptionally sweet, welcoming, and accommodating. They went above and beyond for my late after-hours check-in, ensuring I had everything needed to get in and settled without any issues. Having stayed at other similarly-rated Trastevere hotels, I genuinely feel this one is underrated and would absolutely return. Highly recommend.

The room was fairly small but we managed easily with our 2 boys - 8 & 13 - the bunk beds were a great success. Lots of hot water, good water pressure, cleaning every day and such easy walking distance to everything worth seeing in Rome. 100% would stay again and highly recommend. Our room (quadruple) had a bad smell in it however it didn’t take away from all the great positives of the hotel and I wouldn’t let it stop me recommending the hotel
• Valerie (9/5): - We stayed in the apt. which is in the Jewish neighborhood right next door to Nonna Betta restaurant. We really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful historical building. Great location close to all the sites and also close to Trastevere. Everything we needed was right in this area; wonderful restaurants, laundry services, ATMs, gelato, and plenty of nice shops. It's also close to the Tram. Nice lovely atmosphere outside on the street but the apartment was very quiet. We enjoyed walking everywhere. My sister and I stayed here and we felt perfectly safe walking around at night because it got dark early. We went in Dec. and temps were in the 50's, 30's-40's at night but the apartment stayed nice and warm. We even shut off the heater at times. I don't know how it would be in summer. Large bathroom rare for Rome. Paco showed us the apartment and gave us lots of recommendations, very friendly and helpful. He even showed us how to use the moka for making coffee! Overall we enjoyed our stay. However for seniors or people with mobility issues be aware that the apartment is up two flights of steep worn stairs because it's an old building. Also, bathtub is very high, could be difficult for seniors. The stairs were not an issue for us since we're in our 40's. The layout of the apartment might be uncomfortable for some groups, there's a sofa bed in the living room, and two sort of 2 bedrooms up some very narrow steep stairs, my sister called it a "treehouse" situation since the upstairs is made of wood and creeks. I slept in the living room on the sofa bed because I use the restroom a lot at night and it was comfortable for a sofa bed, couldn't feel the bars. The kitchen was small and old and didn't have much but it was enough for us to make coffee and breakfast. There's no washing machine in this apt. But it was fine because there's a brand new laundry mat right around the corner, was never busy and that was great because it was winter and we needed thorough drying. I usually like apartments with natural sunlight, and this apartment is darker inside with windows to an inner courtyard, which makes the apartment quiet. The apartment has plenty of lights and the darkness of the apartment didn't bother us. The only thing I did not like was the wood stairs and upper bedrooms had old carpet. Personally I think carpet is gross. That's what I like about Europe and most countries outside the US! Usually no carpet. I don't know why they put carpet in this apartment. Anyway, this is just to give you all a good description. As I mentioned, we really enjoyed our stay.

• KAS001 (10/5): Perfect stay in every way! - Everything was fantastic about our stay…the small hotel is in a great location in the funky Travestere area, and is close proximity to great restaurants and a reasonable walking distance to many of Rome’s attractions. The room itself was very comfortable and well appointed. But the highest praise goes to the staff who were exceptionally kind and helpful with advice. We did the self check in and the instructions were easy to follow. I would happily stay here again! If it’s helpful, we took the Leonardo express train from the airport to the termini in Rome, then went to the bus area in section C and boarded the H bus, which dropped us off less than 5 minute walk to the hotel (we travelled with carry on so rolly bags on the cobblestones was a short distance and not an issue)
• Kathie (10/5): 10/10 ++ - This small hotel is located within easy walking of restaurants and was great proximity on foot to the many tourist attractions (we easily walked 10 km/day) Nothing, it was perfect in every way

• emmapound (10/5): Lovely authentic hotel - We had an amazing stay at Residenza San Calisto! It’s in the perfect location in the heart of Trastevere close to so many lovely cafes and restaurants. The staff were lovely and made us feel really welcome, Alessia checked us in and explained everything! The room was traditional and comfortable with everything we needed. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a authentic stay in Rome.
• Excursion796231 (10/5): Charming little hotel - The location is excellent and the hotel itself is charming and very clean and quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to stay there and if we are back that way we will stay there again in the future.
• JL2030 (10/5): San Calisto Studio Apartment - Great location for a Visit to Rome - We stayed at the studio apartment for a week in Via del Portico d'Ottavia which is in the Jewish quarter (not in Trastevere where the hotel is situated). It was the perfect location for us as it was just a short walk to the Capitoline Hill, Roman Forum and Colosseum. Alessia and Cristiana were most helpful, ordering taxis and providing advice when needed. We recommend this apartment for anyone wishing to visit the city as the location is safe and has a number of good restaurants in the vicinity. The apartment was clean and looked after and we enjoyed our stay. We particularly appreciated our reception from Paco who informed us about the best places to eat/shop etc. We would stay here again, should we return to Rome!
• John (6/5): Visit for the tremendous location but not a good pla d - Perfect location hidden in the middle of Trastevere. Minimal soind proofing. Large bright light over the door plus incomfortablr memory foam bed and cheap pillows. Minimally staffed w no one on build for most of the day.
• Glen (10/5): Charming well-appointed boutique hotel on a centrally located, quietTrastevere street at a great price. Highly recommend - Thoughtfully laid out rooms. Fabulous water pressure in the shower.

Sisäänkirjautuminen erittäin helppoa mikä iso plussa kun saavuttiin illalla. Kaikki sujui hyvin.

• 154kellit (10/5): Charming Italian Hotel - Charming hotel and a good location if you don’t mind a bit of walk to historic center and want a more local neighborhood vibe. Lots of restaurants and cafes in the area. Hotel on quiet side street. Staff was friendly, helpful and room was clean. Great authentic gelato near by Fior di Luna Great Mexican if you want something different Pico’s Great Italian Come ‘Na Vorta Pasta & Vino Area is lively at night but quiet inside the hotel. Would highly recommend
• JodieG333 (10/5): Wonderful little refuge in the heart of Trastevere Rome. - This hidden gem is a charmingly beautiful accommodation, in the heart of Trastevere. The rooms are immaculate and offer everything needed, with exceptional service from the staff. It is a perfectly peaceful refuge just a short walk to cafes, restaurants, shopping and beautiful alleys and parks. Tip for chocolate lovers. Go to Pasticceria Valzani for handmade and authentic chocolates. Places like this are becoming more and more difficult to find. ❤️

• davidking75 (10/5): A great stay in a great location! - We recently stayed at Hotel Residenza San Calisto and had a lovely relaxing stay in its one bedroom apartment - a good size for a family of 3. It's in a great location in Trastevere with a lot of great restaurants and bars and felt like an oasis after a busy day of sightseeing in Rome's centre. The apartment is clean and comfortable with cooking facilities, fridge etc. Alessia and the team were very friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay there again! Thank you.

• Joanne (7/5): Great location (of the apartment out reservation was moved to) - We didn’t stay here after we made the booking we were given an apartment in the Jewish quarter by the hotel. The location their was excellent Although the apartment was bigger (and more expensive) as a mum and daughter on our first solo trip, we would have preferred to be in the hotel environment we booked. There was a lot of communication I would have preferred less communication so I could be sure I didn’t miss anything.

• 73jonnyl (10/5): Perfect weekend away - Fantastic hotel, very quiet and respectful. Located in a vibrant area with no shortage of things to do and see. A short walk from all the attractions, very polite staff and the in-house wine tasting was just awesome!
• Thomas (5/5): For the money you can do better. - Perfect location. No breakfast. Lobby unstaffed most of the day. Our room in the back of the house was semi-basement, the window barred. No info regarding fire escape. Poor cleaning of floors.
