If some noise bothers you, or seeing a stain on the wall bothers you, then this place may not be for you. These things did not personally bother me though.

• Chhoeun (9/5): Good room for the small budget. Friendly staff. Good location - The location is nice. There's plenty of convenient places all around. The streets gets a little crazy(crazy good? ) though for the night life. I'm a solo traveler so it have everything needed on a budget, a bed with bathroom. Enough space for 1 person. The room offer shampoo and body wash. No hand soap. But I travel with all my own toiletries anyways. It have a TV that I couldn't figure how to use. I don't use them anyways but I wanted to test it. Haha. Ac works pretty good. Trying to find the light switch for the bathroom took me a minute lol. The staffs are friendly and can probably answers to all your needs I feel like. But I enjoyed my stay. I only use this room to leave my stuff and to sleep in. Good price. Nothing really bothers me easily. But if i what say it might be bother to some. The shower head have no pressure to it. It drizzled lol. Nothing bad but should be noted for some. You are smacked in the middle of a party street, so some sounds can leak in while sleep. I slept fine. And also, you might hear drunks walking up the stairs and chatting loudly to their rooms not being quiet about. The doors is thin so sound from the stairs can be loud. Like the slapping sounds of flip flops.

• Sven (1/5): Achtung Schimmel!!! - Der einzige positive Punkt ist die Lage direkt im Old Quarter von Hanoi! Das Zimmer war so feucht das sogar das Bild an der Wand sich gewellt und Blasen geworfen hat. Ansonsten etliche Schimmelstellen, auch bereits überstrichene was zeigt das das Problem seit langem existiert. Lüfter im Bad ging nicht und Klimaanlage nicht richtig und das ohne Fenster! Bettzeug war ebenfalls klamm. Keine wirklichen Lösungsversuche der Managerin! Anderes Zimmer zum doppelte Preis war ihr Vorschlag. Die 6 Stunden in der Nacht ( bin leider erst spät angekommen ) war nix mit schlafen ,dafür früh gleich ein Hustenanfall, da wollte ich nur noch raus da! Die "Nacht" musste ich dann noch voll bezahlen! Absolute Abzocke und ich hatte schon viele Absteigen.

• Nihale (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms and common areas were very clean and well maintained, which made the whole experience comfortable and relaxing. The location is perfect because it is right in the downtown area, so everything you need is nearby — restaurants, shops, and attractions are all within easy walking distance. The staff were also incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. They made us feel very comfortable during our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city. It is a great place to stay if you want a clean, comfortable hotel with an excellent location and kind staff.

• Connor (2/5): If you’re staying one night and just need 4 walls and a bed then it’s fine but if you need comfort then look elsewhere - The staff were really nice and happy to help with pick ups from the airport and anything else we needed The room was not like the pictures at all. They have pictures from other bathrooms not even in the hotel which completely miss sold the room. The shower was covered in mould and there was no window in the room. The toilet paper was behind the door so it wasn’t even in reach 😂 as there was no air circulation, the sheets/bed felt damp and the room smelled in the morning/after a shower. Plus no elevator. We checked out after the first night. For reference, here is the picture of the bathroom for the room we booked, compared to what we got

• Bartosz (9/5): Polecam na budżetowe noclegi w centrum - Hotel w centrum nocnego życia w Hanoi. Tak więc lokalizacja idealne jeśli zależy nam na nocnych wyjściach. Przyjazna recepcja która może doradzić co gdzie zobaczyć. Dostałem upgrade pokoju na większy z 2 dużymi łóżkami. Wifi działało dobrze, do tego były krzesła i stolik do pracy. Miałem pokój na ostatnim 4 piętrze a w hotelu niestety brak windy. Jednak jest to standard w tej lokalizacji więc trudno uznać to za duży minus. W pokoju są okna jednak 1m od nas od razu ściana budynku tak więc światła słonecznego praktycznie brak. Jednak równiez jest to standard w tej zabudowie... Słabe ciśnienie prysznica.

Họ mới cải tạo lại khách sạn nên đồ đạc nội thất mới và đẹp, giá rẻ so với dịch vụ, nhân viên thân thiện đặc biệt bạn nữ sẽ cung cấp cho bạn mọi thông tin bạn cần kể cả về tour du lich... Hơi khó đi ngủ sớm tầm 10h vì là phố đi bộ.

• Nguyen (10/5): Impressive trip in Hanoi and never forget ! - I was really impressed by the enthusiasm of the hotel reception. The big plus point is the absolutely central location, although the hotel is small but the room price is reasonable, there are full basic amenities in the room and the accompanying services that the hotel provides such as airport pick-up, laundry, etc. It's so reassuring when staying here that you don't have to think about where to go or have any trouble because they always try to support you even after you leave the hotel. Discovery hotel is truly like a peaceful and useful little house. Will definitely come back every time I return to Hanoi. Convenience , a little bit noisy is not to avoid because here is center with a lot of tourist attraction. But no probems, highy recommend.

The owner, Cindy show me this hotel's room and it is very clean and nice, much better than what I have paid for next door. You get what you see in the picture. I booked my Ninh Binh and Ha Giang tours with Cindy. She speak good English and provide very good service and price. She is very patient and encourage us to join the Ha Giang tour and that was the highlight for our Vietnam trip. Thanks Cindy. I would highly recommend to book the tour here and the hotel room. 0_0

However the cheap price and local of bars, results in mediocre room and what appeared to be vomit on the bathroom wall which could have easily been cleaned by housekeeping. Will define spend the extra 10 usd if staying in a drinking area.

• Cas (9/5): Very good value for money hotel in city centre with helpfull staff - Very nice host, she helped me plan my first week in Vietnam with beautiful tours and trips. Location of the hotel is perfect. Right in the centre of Old Quarter which is the place to be.

• Jody (10/5): Best value for money accommodation in beer street - The best location if you want to go out in beer street, as it is right next to it, but not too close so you can hear the music in your room at night. The staff are very friendly and will help you with whatever you need, whether it's booking a taxi, travel tours, or even giving exotic food recommendations :)
• Camjar (8/5): Stones throw from Beer Street - I stayed a few nights at the Hanoi Discovery and undoubtably the best selling point of this hotel is the location, right in the heart of the old town and a stones throw from Beer Street. It is located in a dark and gloomy, narrow dead end lane, which at first can be a little off putting, but after a day or two you get used to it and it does carry a sort of old world charm. Anyway, you get what you pay for and at under $USD20 I cannot really complain. The rooms are dated and basic and a little on the dark and gloomy side. They are a good size though and have a little work station where you can set up a laptop etc. Plenty of cupboard space and two bed side tables, both sides with power points. Small fridge and kettle provided but you will have to purchase your own water, tea, coffee etc. The bathroom has a shower hose (good pressure and hot), standard western toilet and sink. Getting the shampoo/soap out of the dispensers was nigh on impossible so I ended up buying my own. A hair dryer is provided. The noise from outside is quite noticeable up until about 1am, I am a heavy sleeper so was never a problem for me. The WIFI in the hotel was not brilliant but ok, occasionally becoming unstable. The young man (his English is limited) working the front desk in the evenings sleeps on the reception sofa during the night and will get up to open the door for you if you have a late night out. During the day there is a lady on reception (speaks very good English) who is very helpful in offering advice and organising tours. During my stay there were numerous power disruptions but they eventually sorted them out and the last couple of days were trouble free. I booked through Agoda and the hotel is listed as having an elevator. There is NO elevator so if this is important to you then please take note! Would I stay here again? Yes, the good points out weigh the bad and at the price point paid it represented reasonably good value.

• Tom (6/5): It was fine - Location is excellent, right beside beer St if that's what you want. Earplugs are required, but that is often the case. Very tired old building. Needs some love. The bathroom wasn't overly clean either. Lots of steep stairs so not recommended for anyone with mobility issues...
• Murray (6/5): fine. - the property is hidden down an alley, but it’s in a great location for the old quarter and beer street. the room was very small, but that was manageable for a two night stay. the bathroom was questionably clean, and wearing shoes around the room and bathroom seemed necessary.
