Guest Reviews
- Angela (10/5): - Our stay at Tare was magnificent. Marianna welcomed us early. In general, everything was excellent. We recommend it.
- Isabella (10/5): A wonderful place to stay - Cozy and clean, with a delicious breakfast. The host was caring and supportive when we found ourselves in an unpleasant situation. A great location and a wonderful place to stay — highly recommended!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt, Zimmer, Badezimmer alles sehr sauber. Schöne Terrasse zum gemütlichen Sitzen. Frühstück war sehr gut, alles in allem super!!
- James (10/5): - Clean, quiet, breakfast on the outside terrace was a wonderful way to start the day. Close to local transport, the staff were a delight.
- Corinthia (10/5): Great place - The place was very clean and the staff was lovely. Location is less touristy which is really nice but also close to many great restaurants (that aren’t as overpriced as some places) and the metro. We really enjoyed our stay!
- Merrill (8/5): Weekend in Roma - Fabulous, friendly and helpful staff. The bed and breakfast was is in a location that convenient for public transportation. The near by free parking was further than expected about 10 min walk away and only free at certain times of the day. Lucky for us we stayed at the weekend so didn’t need to pay.
- E. Edward (10/5): Excellent B and B - It was a smaller B and B. We had a wonderful time at the hotel. The owners were very nice and spoke excellent English. I had never stayed in a B and B before The room was great and breakfast was very good and made for you. The location was perfect for our visit. It was very easy to come and go at any time of the day.
- Jess (6/5): Disappointing - The hostess was very nice and very helpful. It was disappointing that it was a shared bathroom "B & B". This is something that should be made clear in the advertisement and it was not. Next is the room was very gloomy. Yes it was clean but very dreary. The neighborhood, while yes a 10 min walk to the Vatican was sketchy. I did not walk outside alone after dark. If these types of things do not concern you, then you would definitely like this place...as for me, I will keep looking...
- Ryan (10/5): Awesome place! 2nd time staying there - Guisy is so sweet and makes sure you are comfortable. AWESOME breakfast and comfortable, clean room. Bus stop in front of main door. 5 min walk to a subway stop. Steps from Vatican museum entrance. We would highly recommend!
Super recomendable!
- Calvin (8/5): Convenient location! - Very comfortable, well kept and allows for peace of mind. Owners/staff very attentive to one's needs and very friendly. Found the place quite near to transport facilities into Central Rome and lots of lovely shops. I'm definitely will be booking with them again in the future. Marianna you were absolutely wonderful and thank you for everything you did to make my stay enjoyable. Grazie!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable one night stay - Quick stay to catch The metro next morning, very comfortable room, spacious and a nice terrace, decent breakfast
- sole traveller (6/5): I booked it as hotel buy found that it is b&b - The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly, but they hardly speak English and cannot help you with directions. The bed was unbelievable small and very unconfortable so I had nightmares every night. I do not mind the old TV for this price but I mind when the picture was distorted which was half of a time. The breakfast was the same, so I could not enjoy it all four days. Of course big drawback not to have refrigerator even one for All rooms. Considering not climate you cannot buy Amy fruits or other good without refrigerator, so you have to have your Super out which makes your trip very expensive which defeats idea of booking cheap hotel.
The hotel did not have also the north A.erican adapter, so I could charge only either phone or camera.
- nizan (8/5): - très agreable
- susana (8/5): A good hotel, well located - It was a very good experience, great service, but the bathroom was out of the room and to share with others.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Koselig liten hotel - Koselig liten hotel.
- Katherine (8/5): Very clean and affordable - This is a great alternative to expensive hotels in Rome. It's not in the center of Rome, but it's a 5min walk to the metro station that can take you all around Rome! It's also a 5min walk to a 24hr grocery/convenience store, which came in handy as well. The two sisters who run this are friendly and speak English well. Also- free breakfast really comes in handy because food is so expensive. Free wifi is nice as well. Everything was very clean too! I would definitely stay here again.
- AFONSO (6/5): B&B close to the holy city. - It is not a hotel, but a b&b. For a b&b it`s OK. The `bathroom is shared, but there are 2 bathrooms for a 4 rooms b&b. The only problem (and I think it is normal for a b&b) is that you have to tell in advance the time you`ll arrive, because the b&b hasn't a 24 hours reception. But the b&b is quite good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Harika - Harika
- Jessica (6/5): Cute, kind of hard to find, limited street parking - Was a very cute, clean B&B. Shared bathroom was a little small, but to be expected in European countries. It was a little hard to find because there is no signage; I had to read the names on the buzzers based on the address. Also, the free parking nearby is street parking and is very limited.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Rome getaway - Great place. Marianna and her sister were excellent hosts. Location was near Vatican. Taxis and Metro were right down the block. Room as well as the bathroom were always clean. Great service. Bed was a little hard but other than that place was worth the price.
- Stefania (10/5): Ok - Tutto perfetto, calorosa accoglienza, ambiente silenzioso e ben riscaldato. Tornerò.
- Renato (10/5): Friendly, accommodating, close to the Vatican - My girlfriend and I recommend this hotel completely. After a busy week of traveling around Florence we came back to Rome and Le Tare B&B for our last afternoon and night before flying out of Italy. Marianna, the owner received us with a friendly smile and a welcoming attitude; very helpful. She served us delicious home-cooked breakfast chosen by us from a little list that you leave on the door knob. The place is spotless-clean (really) and a stone-throw away from the Vatican and the red metro line (Cipro station). We slept comfortably and we woke up well-rested.
- K H (10/5): Excellent hostel - This is a really unexpected surprise. The hostel is a really clean and comfortable place with a hotel quality. Shower is good, breakfast is good (included in your payment already), bed and location are all fantastic. I highly recommend this place as the room and service provided are more then a hostel level. Moreover, it is very close to Vatican (less then 10 mins walk) and Cipro station. The environment is very nice and friendly as well. A laundry shop is just opposite the street and it is only 8Eu. pizza/donor just next to the apartment building. I had a really good time while staying in this hostel.
- Agie (4/5): Really budget B&B - Horrible narrow bed. Couldn't turn in bed and very hard. Lovely staff and very clean premise
- Rory (8/5): Quaint B&B Within Walking Distance of Vatican - I would definitely recommend this b&b for someone looking for a reasonably priced and comfortable place to stay. The sisters who run the place are very friendly and accommodating. The room and bathroom were extremely clean, as they are cleaned every day. The free breakfast (served 8-9:30) was excellent, as it offered several different options and was served outside in their garden terrace. The AC and internet worked wonderfully (both key selling points for me). It is within a 2-5 minute walk of the metro (very useful) and 10-15 from the Vatican walls.
Cons: The only small issues I had were with noise and bed comfort. The location is on a fairly busy street with a gas station and construction nearby. It was to be expected, but the walls are thin enough that it's worth mentioning. The bed seemed to have a spring issue as it poked a bit in the middle, and as it was a twin size (in my single room), there wasn't really room to move around it. However, it wasn't anything that would've caused me to move or complain.
- Hilary (10/5): This is the place to stay in the Vatican area! - I had one of the best hotel experiences ever at Le Tare. Mariana and her sister are welcoming and very accommodating hosts. They serve a breakfast of your choice in your personal little garden--it's very charming! The hotel is an easy and safe walk to the Cipro station and is not far from the Vatican Museum entrance. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.
- Silvia (10/5): Wonderful host! Definitely recommend!! - One of the best parts of my ROMA trip was getting to know the two wonderful hosts(sisters)! They were so friendly and helpful and kept the place so cozy and pleasant that it definitely felt like being home. The lovely courtyard and delicious breakfast were also surprising bonuses. Easy to get into city center from nearby metro station. Also, there is an amazing Pizzarium nearby that people would come all the way from the city center to just try. Going to recommend to everyone and come back with friends and families!
- Princesspeach (6/5): Quite good for the price - I stayed here in April. The room was a bit too cold but it would probably be perfect in summer. Staff were friendly and the included breakfasts were good. A lot of noise finds it's way in from outside so use earplugs. I was charged 35 Euros for about 1 kilo of laundry - the price was not mentioned to me in advance and I assumed that because the room was reasonably priced, this service would be too. Oh well. It's a good location - Vatican is walkable and the metro is nearby for going into town.
Mvh
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very nice place to stay which is near by vitican - The staffs are very kind and helpful.I quite like the yard beside the room.breakfast is nice, you can have different choice,I really enjoy the breakfast time in the yard~Anyway, nice B&B and price is reasonable~
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect place to stay - Literally 5 minutes from the Vatican City walks and very close to the metro station, getting you everywhere you may wish to go. Highly recommend it.
- Francesco (10/5): Great service at very reasonable price - Le Tare is a very well renovated large apartment located only 5 minutes on foot from the subway and very close to the Vatican City area. Family owned and operated,English is very well spoken. Rooms are small as generally the case in similar B&Bs but extraordinary clean and comfortable.
Wireless internet is fast and reliable (not always available in similar places), A/C is installed in every room to be adjusted to personal comfort. Breakfast is served on a nice balcony just outside the rooms.
The bathroom of the double room is shared with the resident of a single room, this was never a problem as the bathroom was always very clean and available when needed. Would definitely visit again and recommend it for a short stay in Rome.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Scomodo - Stanza troppo piccola. Colazione in camera crea problemi di spazio. Bene wi-fi.
- Brian (6/5): Same as the rest of Rome's hotels: Oddly europeanly uncofmortably charming - We selected this hotel primarily because of the somewhat affordable price. Bed was hard. Doors were paper thin. The slightest noises seemed to reverberate through the place. 5 minute walk to Metro is a bonus.
- Michael (8/5): Cute, friendly, good location - Free breakfast in room daily.
About 5mins walk from Vatican entrance, about 3mins to metro station.
Patio area is a nice relaxing place for a glass of wine after a busy day exploring Rome.
I'd stay here again or recommend to a friend, small room but great value.
- Ryan (10/5): Excellent accomodations - The in-room breakfast on the semi-private patio was the best! Situated in a non-touristy area near The Vatican and the Cipro metro station. Cool, well thought out decor and the very kind staff were accommodating despite my extremely rudimentary ability to communicate in Italian.
- Filomeno (10/5): Highly recommended bed and breakfast - I highly recommend Le Tare mainly because of the friendly and personalized service. Upon booking, I received an email from Marianna, asking about my estimated time of arrival. Marianna likewise responded immediately to my query regarding direction to the place.
Upon check in, Marianna gave me all the info I need regarding the logistics, how to get around, and recommended restaurant (a restaurant specializing in Sardinian cuisine is nearby).
Breakfast starts at 7 am. But Marianna, expecting a baby soon, went out of her way to prepare a hearty breakfast for me at 6:15 am. I actually waived my breakfast, for I had an early morning flight, but Marianna insisted that I had one.
Le Tare is best for a traveling group or family. It's small--five rooms, if I recall correctly--and cozy.
The location is not touristy, but the metro is walking distance.
When I return to Rome, I will definitely stay at Le Tare.
