• ANDREAS (6/5): Reapeter but maybe not again - It is the 3rd time staying at that hotel. Upon arrival they told me that due to techical reasons my room was not ready and I had to stay for the night in a different room. The day after, they told me I should remove all my stuff and change room. In both cases there were no towel in the room and I had to ask fot them. The TV had very limited channels and no english. In both rooms they had CNN without voice. The hotel needs a serious reinnovation.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Good value in strategic but not touristy area - Location is not a key area for tourists but actually good strategically because it is near to some key Metro stations that allow you to easily visit the more touristy places, without paying touristy prices. Room itself was fine, had a problem with water leaking from the ceiling but maintenance fixed it quickly. Pity that the balconies are not in use. Cleaning staff were super helpful and friendly, was a pleasure to have the help of cleaner (MD Juboraj) each day, checking to see if I needed water or clean towels, etc.

• diana (8/5): - It was nicely located to the stores, restaurants and Metro.They need to improve the bathroom coz when you shower the water splashes all over the floor. They should put a longer sidedoor or a curtain. Also the kitchen under the sink should be improved, it stink and have cockroaches. Other than that I enjoyed staying there and the staffs are nice and friendly.
• Alan (2/5): - It is a dirty and tired hotel. The photos on-line are misleading. The furniture in the room was worn, scratched and faded with chipped corners etc. The floors are not clean. I could not walk in bare feet. There was also a bug in there bathroom. Even the corridors are in bad shape. I rarely post s review. But beware: this is not a place to stay on your vacation!!!
• Katie (8/5): Nice apartment - needs more thorough cleaning! - Property was well situated but needs more attention to cleaning. Lifts in constant use but I did not see them being sanitised. Permittee wall of the pool was dirty, dusty and had a lot of pigeon pooh on it. The pool terrace was cleaned daily and the pool water was perfect

Conveniently located for anyone interested in doing shopping and experience the daily life dubai in Deira area. The Best thing about this Hotel is the Staff, who have gone above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as Home. The hotel staff were so friendly and swift in attending to my issues with regard to room, and related amenities. I would love to pass my heartfelt thanks to the whole staff @ Star metro and especially Jabeer, Front Desk manager, Robin, the House Keeper Manager, Kaisera from Wellness Center and last but not least Asok, from cleaning department. • Maria (2/5): Awful but comfy boutique chic hotel. - Hard to get a taxi. Arrived and no bell hop and no ramp from street to sidewalk. No real help in getting a taxi. I would have been late to the airport if it wasn't for a guy dropping another customer. I arrived and a lady at the revolving door gave me a trolley but there is no direct ramp from street level. The guy at the check in wanted to argue with me that there is a ranp. I said not from street level where the taxi dropped me off with my luggages. The front of the hotel is a off shoot of a narrow street from the main road. The check in is so busy. From inside the room you can hear the hallway noise.

Very clean and staff was courteous when you asked for something - sometimes the service did get delayed and you had to remind them the 2nd time, but otherwise very convenient location, loved how it was close to everything. The metro was walking distance and shopping and food stores within walking distance as well.

• M Athar (8/5): Decent enough - Overall good stay could have been much better. The staff at the reception isn't very friendly or welcoming. I interacted with 3 of the ladies and all 3 seemed to be rather angry and behaved as if helping me was the last thing they wanted to do in the world. The facility needs a good solid renovation to bring it back up. The thermostat on the air conditioning in the room had a mind of its own and wouldn't respond. We got handed a broken iron that leaked if you put in any water. The extra crib bed for our son had its netting torn with holes in it and one would expect such things to be in top order. The restaurant staff and chef were friendly and helpful during breakfast, though it would do good to add some more variety to the breakfast menu.

• Ben (4/5): The service is bad...the room isn’t clean...but... - When arriving at the Star Metro the check in service was very slow. The member of staff started to check us in but then decided to deal with another customer at the same time. The process too just under 10 minutes. When getting into the room I found it very dated which wasn’t a problem but it wasn’t clean. I had an apartment with a kitchen and it was grubby and dirty. I found the rest of the room to be in the same way. The bathroom had hairs in the bathtub and had a drainage smell. On checkout were were called 1 hour before to ask us what time we would be checking out. When arriving the checkout I found the service very slow again. I had to wait for someone to check the room before they would check me out. Another slow process I asked to leave my bags and it transpires on my return that they had just been left in the cooridor and not in a locked room. If you are looking for somewhere on a budget this will do the job as it’s positioned close to the Dubai metro there’s shopping malls around the area.

• Keith (4/5): At your own risk - Not very good experience at Star Metro Deira. Service very poor. Only beds made daily nothing else done in the room. As for Towels, you'll be lucky if you get new ones. Once we had left the towels on the floor after using them for two days thinking they will be changed only to come and find the same towels folded nicely and put back on the rack. we only noticed coz my partner had cut her finger and there was a small spot of blood on the towel. They never cleaned or cleared the sink. even if it was one spoon dirty, we'll be sure to find it in the sink as dirty as we left it. Need massive improvement in their service delivery. • Verified traveler (10/5): Nice location, great customer service at front des - After seeing the flies in the restaurant, we could not continue with our breakfast.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Started badly,..some redemption ! - The service was bad at the beginning; they made me move rooms, aircon filter was blocked, and then next day the morning I complained to fix the hot water, which was not flowing - and had a freezing shower..and by evening no one knew if it was fixed upon my return. Then the next morning at checkout when I needed to leave, the guy said I ate Cheese Balls !!! They had not put all the right stuff in the minibar so accused me instead. Anyway...at the end, they did sort me out when I had to freshen up after hours before flight, and gave me a complimentary ride to the airport. And the hot water worked finally. Crazy....will probably give it a miss next time ! - just too much stress ! Oh, and Wifi had problems for more than one device !
• Abdulaziz (8/5): Looking back to stay at this hotel in the future. - All the staff members were very helpful and keen to respond to any request. I wish them all the best. The curtains in the apartment(s) need to be re-fixed and cleaned especially the ropes of the curtains in the kitchen, it is very dirty. There is also a lot of grease on the doors of the kitchen's cabinets which need to be cleaned and taken care of. The balcony in the rooms need to be cleaned and opened for solo guests to use and smoke who are quite and do not cause any disturbance to anyone and do like to smoke only on the open air.

• thehunted (8/5): Dated hotel but at a good price - This was very obviously a 4 star hotel in the past but is in desperate need of updating. We needed a cheap and cheerful hotel and this fit the bill just right. It is located in an area surrounded by shops and a decent shopping mall right opposite. The swimming pool was under maintenance for the whole of our stay but we were allowed to use the facilities of the Ramada Hotel a couple of doors away.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Worst hotel - Kids needed to use the toilet while waiting at reception to check in.Staff told toilets are for customer only and won't let them go next to it. Been to Dubai 15 times but this hotel takes the cake as worst one.
• mohamed (8/5): nice hotel close to gold market - The hotel rooms excellent and clean, BUT the food is bad. Restuarent setting is big and need better chef. We have to eat outside due to food condition. I am amazed why hotel management failed to correct this.

• Mrs Sweet (8/5): safe area - This was a really nice hotel. I used the pool, sauna, and exercise room. Facilities were well cared for. The hotel is across the street from a really nice mall. the train is also across the street. The hotel served American style waffles and hash browns.
• Yoyo (8/5): Big room with kitchen - I stayed for a week. Since I wanted to cook by myself, it was perfect. The supermarket is at the next door and they open from 7am to 2am. Very convenient! The room was clean and big. The staff tried to help me very well, although the response was a bit slow. Considering the price and the location, it was excellent for me.

• Disappointed (4/5): This hotel has gone downhill. - Big difference within the last few years. Great area but the hotel needs updated badly. They have a very high turnaround because of the location and pricing. So cleanliness is not important. I booked a 1 room, but unexpectedly had someone stay with me and the staff was accommodating to change it from a 1 bed to twins. But the room was not immaculately clean. The kitchen in the apartment (everything) needs a good scrubbing with scouring pads, bleach and window cleaner. The trash can was dirty on the outside, not wiped down. The stainless steel sink stained with tea or coffee. The pans needed to be scrubbed as well as they had that sticky cooked grease feel on them as well as scratched pans. The ceramic teapot had stains. The bathroom has mildew growing down between the toilet and bathtub. The seal around the tub is black and the glass separation for the shower tub needed to be cleaned. I didn't complain then because this room served its purpose as a booking because I needed a place for the night since most places in Deira were booked. I booked for the pricing, but it comes with the sacrifice of a clean room. The food has gone down hill. Do not get the Arabic breakfast, its disappointing. Everything was disappointing.
• dinesh kant (8/5): - Only problem we had that the hotel comes right on take off path of Dubai International airport. And with aircraft taking off every 3 Mts it was very noisy even with all Windows closed, particularly during the night. The sound proofing of the room is very poor.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - It's an amazing place to stay although it might look dated from the outside. I also stayed at Crown Plaza Deira but I would highly recommend Star Deira vs Crown Plaza.
