Guest Reviews
- MARA ILEANA (8/5): - Everyone was kind!
- Patrik (10/5): - Very nice
- Kevin (8/5): - It was quite nice overall, the beds were good, the staff was great, the washroom and shower separation was nice, the breakfast was ok, the location may have been my last favorite thing and with not much to do nearby.
- Muhammed Ebrar (10/5): - Everything is perfect, the only think I didn't like is there was no soap in the toilet
- Nilgoun (6/5): - Overall good place but very noisy with people slamming the doors all the time so not recommended for light sleepers. My wifi was also slow. But the property is clean and the location is nice
- Kirralie (8/5): - It was a quiet area in general, ok walk from train and to city. Big TV in room. No water other than on day 1. Was annoyed at 5am courtyard noise- scrapping chairs for example resonates up the floors
- Matej (10/5): Decent recommendation - Very nice hostel with great staff and small but cozy 4-bed hostel rooms with sturdy bunk beds. Cleanliness was almost perfect, but the toilet was filling the water extremely slowly, so the hissing went for minutes. There are six 4-bunk bed rooms in the hostel. Towels cost 2 € to rent plus the deposit.
- Leanne (6/5): Clean, comfortable - I stayed in the hostel style room, very clean and overall comfortable but unfortunately the curtain on the bed I was in did not fully close (it was the only one left so I couldn’t move). The room was also far too hot and there was no way to lower the temperature. The WiFi was also not working for the duration.
- Vitalii (10/5): - Not bad but kinda far to wolk to old town
- J (8/5): AMADEUS IN PRAGUE - Not the easiest place to find - a more detailed map on the website would help! Funky little place, big bed (the usual two single matresses on a double base). Kettle lead not long enough to reach a socket.
Friendly staff. good value,
- Armin (10/5): - It is very nice hotel. Big room, clean and in good location
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap but still not great for the price - Cold rooms, toilet had to be hit to work correctly (reception was not interested in fixing the issue), beds were hard and worn down. Won't be coming back.
- Gene (8/5): Nice but no elevator - The hotel is located close to the bus/tram and neighborhood restaurants and mini marts. Very quiet and staff are friendly and very helpful.
The only problem is they don't have an elevator. You have to walk up 20+ steps to go to second floor which was a little struggle for me due to a knee problem.
- Fowad (2/5): - It was a good hotel but not anymore my last stay was terrible got skin disease and people around put pornography on loud volume so not an ideal place to stay with family.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Tiny room (literally a bed and a small bathroom) in a remote part of Prague.
- rachkmc (8/5): - I really love the people who work here. This is the second time I have stayed at the property because while the location is a little bit out of the Old City centre, the price is amazing. I find it a fantastic value and it does have two wonderful restaurants at the end of the street.
If you are looking for a location on a budget, this is fantastic option. To add, as a single female traveler, I feel very safe in the neighbourhood. And while it is a little bit out of the city centre (at least as far as many of the attractions in the Old Town and Mala Strana), it is easily walkable. There is a tram close by, but I didn't use it once.... :)
- Susanne (10/5): En rigtig godt sted at overnatte - Super fint lille hotel - ingen gadestøj - ingen nabolarm
To personer - to retter - en flaske vin - sodavand og øl = kr. 261,50
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly helpful staff.
Located in a safe area easily walkable to the city centre.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet location 5 mins walk from buses and trams, good bars and restaurants nearby
Also für mich nie wieder.
- M (6/5): - Average stay. Room is very small. A bit far from old City.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Parfait - Accueil sympathique.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly front desk. Easy check in. Water/coffee in room. Very clean. Very comfortable bed/linen. Would highly recommend! Would stay again.
- David (8/5): Cost effective hotel near the center of Vienna. lo - We stayed in a suite with a kitchenette. The hotel is close to the center. The hot breakfast was very good. The staff went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Habitación amplia,sin ruidos.Tiene cocina y refrigerador.
Buena ubicación, fácil llegar en transporte público.
Recepcionista muy amable.
Lugar muy seguro.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Its a nice place and was happy with the price for quite a late booking.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Well the shampoo and soap are super small, is basically for one person one time, so a larger bottle will be better if possible. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location , good staffs only not good is no lift and AC
- Lynette (10/5): Easy stay in Prague - Very friendly staff, good breakfast, comfortable room. The 24 hour coffee service was fantastic.
- Alisia (10/5): Very satisfied with my stay. - Nice hotel within walking distance of the central station. Quick and easy check in. Good price. Very satisfied with my stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not bad but not great - This hotel was ok but I was a bit disappointed with the condition of the room and the level of service received. The shower was badly blocked and filled up very quickly. I informed the person on reception of this and was told it would be sorted the next day, but obviously no one looked at it as it continued to overflow for the rest of our stay. Other than that, breakfast was good, wifi worked well and bed was comfortable. It was quite a long walk to the city centre from the hotel.
- Thomas (4/5): Expensive - Way to expensive for what we got
- Verified traveler (4/5): - My only request at booking was to reserve a quiet room. At my arrival, a receptionist said that a room reserved for me is inconveniet and he suggedted an upgrade for 12 euro. I asked to see my room first. This was a spacios room next to the reception desk, so noisy. I paid 12 euro and got a smaller but quiet room upstairs.
I also have another booking with Amadeus for 26 to 29 April. The receptionist offered me a similar upgrade for my next stay if I want a quiet room. I asked how much exactly they would charge for a quiet room. He only said that it will not be high for an American.
I wanted to know exactly the amount of extra charge to be able to decide weather to pay extra charge or to cancel. I messaged Amadeus but have not hearf back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff. Clean, quiet hotel - just what we needed for a long weekend in Prague.
- kim (10/5): - Awesome service, clean condition, friendly staff...!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Large space, and luggage storage for the day ypu leave
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was a good distance from the old town. 2/3 stops on the tram. The room we had was very spacious and clean, however it was quite basic. From what we understood the hotel is going through a change to become a Miss Sophie's and therefore not all rooms have been renovated yet.
- Daniel (8/5): Good deal not far from the center of Prague - Nice hotel not far from the center of Prague. This hotel was a great deal for the money.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Not in good condition
- kieran (10/5): Great trip great hotel - Excellent hotel , faastic location and very friendly staff
- Steven (8/5): A pleasant stay - The hotel had everything you need, the location was perfect for us, and the staff were very friendly I would stay here again as it was quiet which is priceless in Prague
- HuaTing (8/5): - Easy to get transportation to center attractions, the hotel staff are really friendly.
- Nancy (8/5): Great value for money - It was great value for money. We enjoyed being outside the main tourist area, but by having a pass for public transportation we were able to go everywhere we wanted to as the hotel is not far from a good tram stop.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Okay stay - The hotel was well located with good transport links into the centre. The room was nice and the beds comfotable. We did have a problem with a smell of drains/sewage coming from the bathroom. We told the front desk about this and they said it would get sorted but when we went back to the room later the smell was still there. The room was clean but the bottom of the toilet bowl was a dark shade of brown and i don't think the toilet was that clean. The rooms surround a terrace and guests sit out early and late and could keep guests awake as it can be very loud. Perhaps the staff could ask guests to be quieter when it is late.
- Alexandre (10/5): - A great little hotel just outside of prague... Nice attention... Lots of pubs around... Food... Close to the tram. .. Prague is a very pretty city...worth it...
- Stephen (10/5): Great Hotel, value for money..very helpful staff - Great hotel! easy to find, 3 tram stops from Wenceslas sq...Very friendly staff, large comfortable bed, clean room, good shower & very lovely breakfast. Staff really couldn't have been more helpful. Loved our stay!!
- Ricky (10/5): - Nice hotel , helpful staff , small rooms but livable
- Ho (6/5): - Close to Metro station , from Hotel can go to downtown
- Steven (8/5): - Hotel room and bathroom was small but was clean and well kept. There is no a/c but was able to open windows and a fan was provided and was find for me. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful and Gregory was especially helpful and went out of his way to make sure I had what I needed. The tram is about a 10- 15 min walk and only takes about a 10 min ride to main center of Prague. You can purchase tram ticket at the hotel. I would stay at Hotel Amadeus again and would recommend to a friend. Thanks for making my stay in Prague great!
- Stephen (8/5): Good place near public transit - Great place, helpful staff, location is a little out of the way. I walked to the central areas from here twice and that was enough. Take public transit and it's no problem. Bar on the corner was great and relaxed.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Comfortable but far location - Location was far and staff did not speak clear English which made it difficult to understand
Place wa clean and comfortable
- Yevgeniya (8/5): Good hotel for the price - The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The area is OK. Some street work was in progress. It's close to railway station and about 30 min. walk to the old town. Overall it was comfortable stay.
- Lynne (10/5): Great little hotel. - The hotel was really nice and within easy walking distance to the tram stop which allowed easy access to all the sights. It was also within walking distance to the desire, train station etc. There were plenty of shops nearby. Being in a more residential type area it was quiet at night. The room we had was big, very clean and with a little kitchen and private bathroom which was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice. I would recommend and would stay again.
- Noah (8/5): Nice Place! - Great place and service but boy was it hot. No fan or AC and an unusually hot summer made for a restless night.
- Timothy (10/5): The desk makes the trip - Great front desk very helpful
- Bruce (10/5): A little gem in Prague. - An excellent place to stay in terms of value, room comfort, friendly staff and location. A quality breakfast. As well, just three short tram stops to the centre of town. I highly recommend it.
- ANDREW (10/5): - Great room value for money .
- Keys (10/5): - I had a great time at the Hotel Amadeus! I will recommend to my friends and colleagues. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. I hope to return someday.
- Damien (8/5): - Very friendly staff.
- edward (10/5): Good hotel - Great budget hotel in the best part of Prague. Bars and restaurants all around. Tram around the corner. Didn't try the breakfast but I'd stay here again.
- kevin (8/5): good quality hotel - nice hotel only 10-15 minute walk from the old town square and Wencelas square.
the immediate area had limited amenities but a good location
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place - Super nice place in terms of location, food, cleanliness, service, food and comfort.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Mark G - Everything about the hotel met or exceeded expectations, Mostly exceeded!!!! The room was better than
in the online picture, which is a real rarity, The overall value for cost was much better than anything I had seen, especially compared to the U.S. Breakfast was well worth it.
- Jack (8/5): Pleasant 5 day trip - This hotel may be a bit out of town but with a £2 uber that’s not an issue. Cannot fault the staff, where always lovely and helpful to us. Room always clean and comfortable.
- rachel (8/5): great staff, interesting neighbourhood - The location is close enough to the city center that I didn't end up taking public transit once. It is a close walk to Wenceslas Square, the Powder Tower and onto the major historical center of Prague. I also liked that it was close to two great (and tasty) pubs.
The staff were INCREDIBLE! so helpful and friendly and I would recommend this hotel for this alone.
As mentioned previously, the walls can be a bit thin so you might hear people beside your room but that is just the nature of the age of the building. Also, you will have to walk outdoors to get to your room but the courtyard is beautiful.
I did find the rooms a big chilly but I suspected that might be the case in Prague in December so I just advise bringing warm socks and sweaters and you will be fine!
I also highly recommend using the extremely reasonable and efficient transfer service from the hotel to the airport and back. I was quite pleased with my stay here, got my money's worth and very much enjoyed the hotel staff.
- Jaco (10/5): Great stay - Nice cozy place, we were very surprised to find such and nice place for such a small price. Worth it any day of the year.
- Hugo (8/5): Perfect place to stay - Everything was perfect, hotel is amazing, service is awesome but local people around the hotel make so much noise at night.
- Daniel (10/5): - Just outside of main downtown
Nice clean big rooms
Good wi-fi
15 minute walk to main tourist area
Close to main train station
Restaurants and bars in immediate vicinity
Great spot
- Hildegard (10/5): - A lovely hotel with terraces great to use in good weather. The room was clean and comfortable but the light too weak to read by. Staff friendly and helpful. It was easy to get to public transport once I knew the area.
.
- Ahmed (4/5): Not so good . - Not good with this hotel.
WIFI coverage is poor in some places.
One of elevator didn't work in side of hotel.
Poor breakfast variety.
Rooms without Recycle bin.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good for the price. The only thing is that it was a bit noisy in the mornings - people walking in the corridors and on the stairs near my room. So this had me awake even though I wanted to sleep a bit late. Maybe a bit of soundproofing on the door could help. Otherwise, the room was comfortable and clean with a good en-suite bathroom and in a very handy location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Overall a nice hotel and in a convenient area. The beds are comfy, rooms are clean and staff are very nice. Some good restaurants with good prices are nearby. A few downsides though. The Internet works terribly in the rooms but works decently in the courtyard. There is construction across the street from the hotel so if you get a room at the front you'll hear construction work starting fairly early in the morning. There was also some problems with hot water. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't work great.
- Ron (8/5): Well maintained hotel, close to city centre - The hotel is unpretentious, comfortable and offers good value. It's a short walk to the city centre. The staff are polite and helpful.
- YAKUP (4/5): one night hotel - the rooms are very small
- Eugenia (8/5): Comfortable stay. - Hotel Amadeus was in a great part of town with a good pub around the corner. The room was clean and well appointed. Good affordable coffee and snacks in the lobby. I'd stay there again. Our room was on the third floor at the end of the hall, so the Internet was spotty. However, I had coffee and used the wifi in the lobby instead.
- anthony (8/5): small and quiet hotel not far from Prague centre - I have just returned from weekend staying in Hotel Amadeus and enjoyed my stay very much. The hotel is located a short distance from the Old Town and despite being told to take a short tram or bus ride I found it easier to walk, which only took around 15 minutes from the hotel to Powder Gate. I would like to mention the hotel staff, which were very friendly and could not do enough to assist you with any query. They also have a small selection of items to eat and drink that can be purchased from the reception area which were a life saver in the dead of night when you needed a snack or some mineral water.
- Glenn (6/5): Quiet economy stay in Prague - The hotel is rather old but quiet and comfortable for the price. Breakfast costs 6€ and quite adequate, but not so appetizing. No lift means stairs to climb, especially after walking on cobblestones.
- Robert (8/5): Great people, good value - At first, I did not like the part of town the hotel was in. It seemed a little run down. Also difficult to access on a bicycle, due to railway lines, a steep hill, and busy roads. But it turned out to be a safe neighborhood. I saw women, children, and old people walking alone day and night. I also found excellent cycle trails, beautifully paved. I found some good restaurants, and most of all, friendly people. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful, providing needed services and information. Be aware, the "tourist" areas of town are a long walk away, but there is excellent mass transit in the city. I regret not having explore the subway. For cyclists, you are close to the Eurovelo and river routes, for some excellent riding.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nearby hike - Nearby Vitkov national memorial hill is an amazing sight with great views of the surrounding area.
- Alexey (6/5): 1 night only - Ok to stay one night, but too noisy, you can hear people talking, closing doors etc.
Could not sleep at all
Area is ok
Room is ok, but very smelly bathroom
If you want to rest and sleep better check other places
Value for money
- Mitchel (10/5): Great place to stay. - Staff was friendly and helpful. They sell public trans tickets and coffee. The room was clean, a very comfortable bed for two-two twin beds in one frame- wish I had one at home. The area is easy to access everything by tram, and is perfectly safe. Don't let local grafitti make you think otherwise.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A very comfortable & reasonable place to stay - It was very nice & clean & the staff were very kind & helpful
- Ashley (6/5): Great central location - Great central location, an easy walk from the train station, but don't miss the small sign on the way past. Very small room, but it was clean, had a good shower, the wi-fi worked well and the desk staff friendly and helpful. Most expensive room per foot of space I've ever had, but I guess that's the Amsterdam market.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel in convenient location - Clean quiet room with complete bathroom ensuite very helpful emp!less on desk 24/7.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean and Neat hotel - The hotel is located in the city. It takes a walk of 15 mins to reach National Museum and a half hour to the old time. The staff is friendly and polite. The room is spacious with a good shower.
- Viivi (8/5): I have to say, I was positively surprised! - I wasn't expecting this good quality for the price we paid.
Although not many luxuries, this hotel had the necessities. The room and bathroom were clean, the breakfast room especially was beautiful. Breakfasts were quite basic, there weren't too many bread and vegetable options, but the food kept the hunger away. :) I bet the inside yard is beautiful in summer, and the staff was polite.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel near the transport and town centre. - Very helpful English-speaking staff provided any info we needed and taxis to and from the station. The room was comfortable and travel to and from the city centre was quick and easy, with the tram stop being just around the corner. The heating in the room was good.
