Guest Reviews
- Joel (10/5): - The host Marco was the just best. So friendly and was more than happy to provide any help getting around the city or certain places to check out with great views. I would absolutely stay there again when we visit Rome.
- Valentina (8/5): -

- Peter (10/5): Un sogno in Trastevere. - La proprietà è gentilissima. La posizione è perfetta proprio in Trastevere. Una colazione italiana buonissima. Niente
- Mario (10/5): - Gentileza dello staff e soprattutto posizione ottimissima
- laurence (10/5): -
- krystyna (10/5): Perfect. - Great location, lovely vibe, charming hosts. It was my third stay. Loved the balcony. Nothing.
- Peter C (10/5): -
- Valerie (10/5): - This experience really made our time in Rome special. Staying in Trastevere for the first time was a nice experience and the neighborhood had much to offer. Marco's hospitality and willingness to share his local expertise was so generous and warm. George was eager to accomodate every wish. The service and the experience was wonderful. I would stay here again.
- Tia (10/5): Old World Charm and attention to detail. - Marco and Giorgio were the ultimate hosts, welcoming, accommodating and gracious. They helped us with everything from transportation to restaurant reservations. Breakfast in the dining room was a great way to mingle is you wished. We definitely want to return in the future.
- McIver (9/5): - The owner and his helper were very kind, engaging and helpful. It could use wash cloths in the bathroom.
- Roger (8/5): We would come back. - Location, safety & atmosphere. Very nice welcome and allowed to access room early. Brilliant breakfast and very welcoming host. The TV did not work but wasn’t home much anyway.
- Michael (9/5): A great place to stay! Would definitely recommend - Nice rooms, beautiful decor, friendly staff, and great recommendations from the host. Trastavere is a nice, relatively quiet neighborhood just 10 minutes walking to the more bustling parts of Rome. Nothing really comes to mind. The A/C wasn't quite working our first night, but George on the staff had someone quickly brought in to look at it the very next day and it worked great the rest of the stay.
- Helen (8/5): Great location - We loved the location, on a quiet street in the wonderful Trastevere neighborhood, yet walkable to everything we wanted to see. The breakfast was lovely and the bed comfortable. We would have preferred the ability to have a bit more control over the a/c. We could not adjust it below 25 degree celsius; for us this was still too warm to comfortably sleep, We also would have liked a slightly earlier breakfast, or at least the ability to get coffee earlier than 8 a.m.
- Kevin (8/5): - Excellent location. Post is nice. The bed and pillows could use a little bit of an upgrade. Other than that, the room is clean and was an interesting place to stay.
- Hazel (8/5): - The guest house is in an area ( Trastevere) conveniently situated for seeing the main Roman attractions. Its outward appearance may be a bit deceptive for North Americans as there is a definite air of decaying grandeur which can initially take one aback .
The owners and the staff are wonderful and can’t do enough to help. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The owner’s wife makes wonderful table linen as a hobby, which she sells at a very reasonable price. Since it is a hobby she has a very limited supply though.
- Suzy (10/5): Marco’s kindness and knowledge of Rome enhanced our visit. - A beautiful home, tastefully chosen interior for the bedroom, welcoming dining room and delicious breakfast. Situated in quiet streets within easy reach of the river.
- Nicole (9/5): A perfect stay in the vibrant locale of Trastavere. Hosts magnificent and steered us off the beaten track. Charmi - Nothing to dislike
- Charles (7/5): Good spot overall - One of our two rooms lost hot water on day 2 of 3days . Authentic BnB with helpful owner.
- Francis (10/5): Exceptional - The place is perfectly located in the heart of Trastevere, less than a 10-minute walk to the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, but also easy walking distance across the Tevere to many of Centro Storico's most famous and impressive sites. The owner is friendly, knowledgeable, frank, and intelligent, a singular host who made me feel welcome. I should've booked a longer stay.
- Mary (9/5): Peaceful bed and breakfast in the heart of Trastevere. - Marco and George were very helpful. Charming bed and breakfast situated in a quiet street in Trastevere. Very clean comfortable room and breakfast was nice. Nothing
- Clare (10/5): Amazing guest house in a fabulous location, Really lovely welcoming hosts !! Would highly reccomend and hope to return a - Everything Nothing
- E. (8/5): Very good - Very cosy. Good breakfast. Nice owner who was very helpful in recommending restaurants. Room itself was somewhat expensive.
- Alegra (10/5): - The property was amazing. Marcos and his staff were fantastic. Outstanding experience in Rome thanks to the wisdom and guidance of the staff. Thank you from the Bishops
- NIDA (8/5): - They are very kind..
- Cindy (6/5): It was a very comfortable, authentic and unique experience. - We did not opt for breakfast. Meeting George was nice and he was super helpful. Marco the owner gave us a great recommendation for dinner on our last night...it was amazing. The bathroom could use additional maintenance. The ceiling and upper side walls appeared to have mildew or mold, but either way it wasn't pleasant to see, so maybe paint?
- Phillip (10/5): Enjoyed very much. Especially liked the the decor of the property. - Location was great! Hard to find.
- Julie (8/5): - .
- Mary (10/5): The hosts are very attentive to their guests and gave us great suggestions for restaurants and sightseeing that were off - The location in Trastevere is excellent. It was close to everything we wanted to see, but on a quiet street. Rooms were cosy and comfortable. N/a
- Anne (10/5): - This B&B is tucked away on a quiet street in Trastavere which provides a break from all the tourists. There are lots of restaurants nearby, so it is easy to walk to something good and interesting. The owner was very helpful, and the breakfast is a great opportunity to compare notes with others visiting Rome. I will definitely stay here again.
- Celine (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay. The breakfast was excellent.
The owner is so friendly and will answer any questions.
- Howard (10/5): Great location in a charming older building. Wonderful and helpful host. You feel like you are a guest in his home. - Great location. Quiet. Beautiful old building. Charming host. Nothing
- Julie (10/5): - Very charming B & B! Absolutely loved the delicious breakfast that was served by George. Really enjoyed the area and the sights. I would definitely recommend this property!
- Kristin (10/5): - Like staying at your grandparents house. Not modern but charming clean and comfortable. Marco was so helpful and it was nicely tucked away from the crowdedness of Rome across the River. Still able to walk to all the places we wanted to see. And there are lots of places to eat quite close by.
- Gabriela (6/5): Unfortunately, we would choose to stay elsewhere the next time we visit Rome. - The location was great! Joe was cordial. We were unable to go to sleep the second night because of very noisy young people surrounding our room. We had to get up from bed, get dressed and visit them to ask them to be quiet. This should have been management’s responsibility. We were surprised that we had to get involved. It was so loud and obvious. They did not quiet down until we contacted Joe an hour later because we had had enough and we needed to get up early the next morning. Also, we were not comfortable with the resident dog. He had a high pitched bark and barked often. It was inappropriate and unprofessional for a dog to be bothering the hotel guests.
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional - The stay was just what we were looking for. The breakfast every morning was perfect and George was an excellent host. The neighborhood is charming; quaint restaurants and shopping. Will highly recommend.
- Lucia (10/5): Antique, Authentic and Great Location! - This was the perfect place to stay in rome. Really close to incredible restaurants and the decor and vibes of the space was lovely. The breakfast was incredible and I would definitely stay here again!
- Michael (10/5): - This property is in the heart of Rome! The Colosseum is a short walk away. Restaurants are also very close. A short ride to Vatican City as well. Enjoyed the stay.
- Marta (10/5): A cozy guest house with comfort and character in a great location! - The staff was incredibly responsive and helpful - and even left me a thoughtful list of suggestions for off the radar places to visit in the area. I enjoyed the quirks of this property, including my private rooftop terrace where I sipped morning tea. The water mixing was tricky - could get really hot coming out of the faucet and I found it difficult to temper with cooler water. Such are things in older buildings, but perhaps something to look at. However, I was really grateful for the AC in the room, which worked great!
- Christine (7/5): Good - Location was great for seeing the main areas of Rome. Lack of communication from host. Toilet in the bathroom was constantly flushing so was noisy all night. Hair dryer didn't work.
- Emma (7/5): Good - Location was great - lots of lovely restaurants very close by and easy walk to all the sites. Accommodation was quirky and homely - rustic rather than pristine hotel. Friendly host. Up a few flights of stairs so not easy with a suitcase (though carried up for us when we arrived).
- Tanya (8/5): Very good - The location of this property is excellent. Marco was not around but George was most helpful. There ARE 3 flights of stairs to climb to get to the guesthouse so big suitcases require your muscles a bit. But the climb is worth it.
- Victoria (8/5): 2 nights in Trastevere - We loved a lot about the accommodation, the location was excellent, the welcome too, breakfast was very good and loved staying somewhere a bit different, oh and the balcony was a bonus. Bed super comfy. Poor ish water pressure, but probably because of area and age of building. Can appreciate the accommodation it might not be to everyone's liking.
- Kerryn (8/5): Lovely staff and convenient location. - Location and balcony Cost for size
- Ruthanne (5/5): Maybe one of the other rooms would have made a difference. - The breakfast offered a nice variety and was served in a lovely dining room that afforded the opportunity for guests to meet and interact. Great coffee, and George made himself available throughout the meal for questions and conversation. There was a small refrigerator filled with water which was much appreciated after a long day walking in the sun. The location allowed us to walk to restaurants, shops and many major points of attraction. I cannot speak for any of the other bedrooms, as they all differ, but, with the exception of a very comfortable bed, the room was a disappointment. The TV did not work. George tried to help us out, but couldn't get it working. There was a lovely armoire, but when we opened it the door was off the hinge. The light switches for the room were out in the hallway. The bathroom was spacious but really needed cleaned and updated. Lots of mildew around the shower, on the ceiling of the shower and on the curtains in the shower.
- Deborah (9/5): Superb - George was excellent! Very helpful and accommodating. Air conditioned, quiet, great location. Plumbing and terraces could use some updating.
- Jill (7/5): loved trying a new neighborhood with wonderful restaurants - George met us at the door as our cab pulled up and was very helpful with our short stay! tv cable could not keep a signal
- Donna (9/5): A lovely family home feel with a most genteel host George. - George was an outstanding, professional attentive and genteel host. Our stay here was made more wonderful with the advice and assistance from George.
- Sonia (10/5): Perfect stay in Rome, location, service, breakfast and atmosphere. Would recommend this place to anyone. - Perfect location in Rome. Service was absolutely fantastic - George (the manager) went above and beyond! Water pressure in shower low and hard to connect with WiFi.
- Marva (10/5): Friendly host and excellent location. - Location is excellent to old ruins and restaurants. Comfortable rooms and cost shared spaces. N/a
- Phyllis (10/5): Great nights sleep with outstanding service & ideal Rome location. - Marco came to meet us because we were a bit lost. The room was lovely and quiet, and breakfast was exceptional. He gave us an excellent dinner recommendation. I highly recommend a stay in this perfect location! None!
- Andras (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shulamith (10/5): Really a pleasure. Well located but away from the crowds across the river. - Marco and George were wonderful hosts. George is efficient and makes wonderful coffe and an orange sponge sponge cake. Marco is a font of knowledge about the city, history, philosophy and many other subjects .
- Shore (3/5): Disappointing - The breakfast was OK. The location was good, very central in Trastevere. The room we were given was very old and looked like it had not been touched in years, especially the bathroom. The shower was in a very bad condition. It was very cold during the night (bed covers inadequate). We had access to a little terrace from our room, but the terrace had also been neglected and it wasn't very inviting to sit there.
- Talya (10/5): Fantastic trip to Rome. Made all the better by our lovely B&B. - Fantastic location in the heart of buzzy Trastavere and walking distance to many of the famous tourist sites, yet the room is quiet. We had the bonus of a private first floor terrace with cute views and lovely morning sun. Super charming host with lots of useful advice for exploring the less touristy parts of the city. Great decor full of quirky antiques and a lovely authentic old Italian house vibe.
- Elan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional - Marco was superb and location was excellent
- Renée (10/5): Cute, clean, comfortable and great location - Comfortable and spacious, fabulous location, peaceful but also close to everything I wish it had a bar fridge but I was aware of that before arriving
- Breana (9/5): Delightful stay in terrific Trastevere. - Fabulous accommodation in a fabulous area in Rome; Trastevere. Marco (owner) & George (household helper) very warm and English speaking. Very much enjoyed breakfast each morning and my room was so pretty & comfortable. Loved having my window on to the piazza open. Will always stay here when in Rome, I loved it so very much.
Easy to get to from Termini Station, we’ll serviced by buses also, 5 minute walk. Takes a long time for hot water to kick in and to adjust temperature., low water pressure and small head. Fine to get clean in, not relax in.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable room in a warm and welcoming B&B up 30 steps (with help with suitcases) in a quiet, good Trastevere location.
- D (4/5): Over priced and dirty - Location is great. Breakfast is good It’s old. Dusty and dirty. Our shower did not drain. Had to take a 2 min shower who flood the bathroom.
- Charlotte (7/5): Great location and comfy and elegant surroundings - Loved the style and decor of the guest house. Great location as well. Because no staff stay overnight we were woken up both nights with guests ringing the doorbell because they unable to get in! The door was quite tricky - not impossible - and there was a ‘knack’ to it but extremely frustrating having to let in other guests !
- Judith (7/5): Good -
- Carla (10/5): Wonderful guest house in an ancient Roman Palazzo! - Wonderful experience at this guest house located in an ancient Roman Palazzo. The owners Marco and his wife Giana are so loving and really go the extra way to make sure you have a great stay from the beautiful water glasses in the room to the nice toiletries and the most amazing breakfast with delicious fresh bread, cheese, eggs, yogurt, homemade jams while you’re seated at a beautiful antique dinning room with beautiful paintings on the wall. It’s greatly located just a 4 mins walk from the Jewish ghetto. If you like Israele food I recommend you try this excellent restaurant called Bella Carne. Also, there is a cheese shop at the corner named Beppe E I suoi Formaggi which was rated as one of the greatest food shops in the world where you can have a cheese taste with a bottle of wine while seating outside watching the crowds go by and walk to Piazza Navona afterwards which is right there. Definitely planning on coming back and staying at this lovely guest house again.
- Nick (8/5): Top marks for location and ambiance but a lighter brighter room would have been better. - The location is excellent with a lively night life and many restaurants nearby plus access to the city was just across the Tiber river. Marco was a charming and knowledgeable host who provided any information needed. Breakfast was a shared table which was a nice way to start the day and we enjoyed the feel of a family home. Our back room had little natural light-we needed the lights on during the day it was so dark.
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional - The host, George, was very helpful and kind. Breakfast was good, and a great time to chat with other guests, trade information, and meet new people. Nothing really, The room is like staying in someone's house. Not like a cookie cutter hotel. Bookshelves, bedstands, etc. Others are staying in other rooms.
- Logan (10/5): Book it if you can! Perfect for exploring Rome. - The host was amazing. He even called in a favour and got us a reservation at a place that was full! Amazing pasta!!
The best area and it comes alive at night. Perfect to unwind after a day of walking around Rome.
Comfy and cozy - 5 stars! Literally nothing.
- Jo (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Kathy (8/5): Very good - The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast each morning was very nice. The door to our room was difficult to open. We felt bad that we had to bother the staff to help us get the door open several times.
- Barry (5/5): Passable - Good location. Bathroom in need of overall. Breakfast limited choice.
- lisa (10/5): - This place was a hidden gem!!! George greeted us and was very kind. He made breakfast for us each morning and made our stay very comfortable. We met the most wonderful people also staying here and couldn’t have been more pleased. The location was within walking distance of everything, and the establishment is clean and well taken care of. No corners were cut, and George went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.
- C (10/5): the most lovely place in Rome -
- Charlotte (8/5): Quaint & homey B&B - definitely recommend! - This stay far exceeded our expectations, and we didn't want to leave!
The room was huge and we were surprised with the sweetest private balcony. The bathrooms are renovated and clean.
This B&B has a very homey feel and is located right in the heart of Trastevere surrounded by good restaurants.
Great bang for your buck and will definitely stay here again if we're back in Rome! The beds aren't the most comfortable, but the pros outweigh the cons :)
- Esther (7/5): Good -
- Lee (9/5): Excellent location and Balcony - Fabulous staff, location and balcony . Had a fabulous stay!
- Oldie (5/5): Disappointing dated hotel - Very quiet and charming area The one staff member we met was unhelpful and generally absent . I was most upset that he didn’t book a taxi for us when requested him to so we were very late for a tour and had to walk there for 40minutes . It was also strange it felt were the only ones there ever so felt very wierd . Food didn’t seem very fresh
- Tom (10/5): Highly recommend - Perfect
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (9/5): Superb -
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anton (7/5): Good -
- Michal (7/5): Good - location is perfect, size of the room, size of bed (very large), lots of light, nice breakfast room facility needs to be updated, the bathroom was in poor condition - the toilet tank need to be fixed, overall cleaniness need to be improved
- Marie (9/5): A quiet stay in Trastevere - Breakfast aside from the rotting fruit was very nice in the dining room - coffee was excellent. Fruit at breakfast was rotting. The check in process was very hurried so he could leave which meant the checkout process was extremely abrupt & hurried collecting tourist tax before check out time. I was ready to leave before checkout time so there was no issue & if this time isn't suitable for the host then it shouldn't be advertised at that time.
- Tobias (6/5): Room for improvement - The location is good. Close to sights and good restaurants. The rooms are quiet. The place is nice, but needs some maintenance and cleaning. Dust in many places. Carpets are faded. Sinks don't flush well. They only seem to dust what's at eye level. Putting a fridge in the room - even just a small one - would be a good addition.
We booked a room for two adults and a child. Ahead of arrival, it was agreed to place an extra bed in the room. However, upon arrival late at night there was no extra bed. It still needed to be set up. After initially denying that this was agreed upon, the bed was then set up swiftly. No extra towels were given, though.
On the second day of our stay, there was no breakfast (though it was included in the price), due to a leakage in the kitchen. Bad luck can happen and we understand, but it was disappointing that no alternative was offered or discount was given. Not even a cup of coffee as a gesture.
- Larosa (9/5): Superb -
- Jessie (10/5): Exceptional - Homemade cakes and jams, friendly and attentive service and lovely morning chats with other guests.
- Koonz (8/5): Very good -
- Stephanie (8/5): Fantastic! - George was a lovely host and was very accommodating to our needs. The feel of the B+B was very homey and it was lovely having the breakfast included every day and meeting new people. Great location, would definitely stay again. Nothing.
- Bernadette (10/5): Utterly charming! - I booked looking for a somewhat affordable last-minute stay in Rome, and the guest house was an unexpected pleasure to stay in! The atmosphere was very homelike with the Old World charm of a 19th century novel. From here I walked 15 minutes to Santissima Trinita Dei Pellegrini, 30 minutes to St. Peter’s Basilica, and 30 minutes to the Basilica of St. Mary Major. There were some restaurants nearby, and the river was easily accessible. Would definitely stay here again!
- Julie (10/5): Fabtastic location with welcoming hosts and fabulous food at your doorstep - It was lovely to be welcomed to Rome by George and to stay somewhere that felt like home. Good sized room, and shared areas in the house. Lovely breakfast in a most beautiful setting while
being right where everything is happening in Trastevere. Fantastic location with many very good food options at the doorstep and walking distance from key locations or easily reached by bus. Felt very comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here. There was a knack to opening the door to the unit but once you work it out it’s fine!
- Gail (10/5): Lovely stay near the Tiber in Trastevere. Easy walk to all the main attractions. Great food nearby. - Wonderful family run B&B, in an historic location. Quiet room with a private terrace overlooking the little street. Sound of seagulls and church bells. Several steps to get to room, but George helped with luggage.
- Christin (10/5): Exceptional -
