• Bettina (10/5): - Die Villa ist wundervoll und mit verschiedensten Sammlerstücken eingerichtet. Giorgio, der Sohn von Marta kümmert sich sehr um die Gäste mit vielen Tipps was man in der Gegend anschauen kann. Marta zaubert jeden Tag ein anderes leckeres Frühstück hervor. Das Anwesen ist mit vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten im herrlichen Garten bestückt. Es gibt kühle Getränke usw. Genervt hat ein bißchen das Gebelle von den Nachbarshunden. Auch Spät Abends. Es gibt nicht sehr viel Restaurants in der Nähe bzw nur 1 sehr gutes zum Hinlaufen. Alle machen erst gegen 19 Uhr auf.

• Cem (10/5): Villa in der Toscana mit dem besonderen Flair - Das Marta Guest House liegt eingebettet in einer wunderschönen grünen Landschaft neben Hügeln und einer leichter Bewaldung. Der großartige Garten ist super angelegt und bietet viel Platz um sich zu entspannen. Die Zimmer im Gästehaus sind ca. 4 Meter hoch und mit großen Fenster und einem Bad ausgestattet. Alles ein wenig nostalgisch eingerichtet aber sehr passend zum Haus. Nun zu einem weiteren Highlight - das Frühstück. Die Eigentümerin Marta, ihr Sohn sowie das Team geben sich jeden Morgen viel Mühe um die Gäste zufrieden zu stellen. Jeden Tag gibt es etwas Neues zu entdecken - ihr werdet überrascht sein. Ebenso stehen Marta und ihr Sohn mit vielen Tipps zur Verfügung, wenn es um das Erkunden von z. Bdp. Lucca oder Pisa gehen sollte. Die zentrale Lage zwischen den beiden Städten ist ideal um die Gegend zu erkunden. Wenn man dann abends wieder zurück ist, freut man sich auf Martas Guest House und den warmen Empfang. • Martin H. (9/5): Reise in die Vergangenheit - Die Unterkunft ist eine liebevoll renovierte Villa aus den 1930er-Jahren und sehr schön dekoriert. Unser Zimmer war im 1. Obergeschoss, gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Gut gefallen hat auch der Aufenthaltsbereich und der Frühstücksraum im Erdgeschoss. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet sowie abwechslungsreich. Die Gastgeber waren überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit, insbesondere was die Unterstützung bei der Planung von Aktivitäten und Ausflügen angeht (danke Giorgio). Es gab für uns nichts zu beanstanden.

• Christine (10/5): - De gastvrijheid van Giorgio en Martha. Ze vroegen iedere ochtend wat je ging doen en daar kreeg je tips over. Je kon gebruik maken van een koelkast en je mocht kofie en thee zetten. We moesten een keer vroeg weg en toen maakte Martha speciaal voor ons een ontbijt om mee te nemen. Zo lief. Het ontbijt was erg lekker en uitgebreid.
• Sven (10/5): Tolle Location und gute Basis für Ausflüge in die Toskana! - Das Frühstück war opulent, für Liebhaber eines süssen Frühstücks gab es viel Auswahl. Die Gastgeber haben aber jederzeit versucht, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen! Giorgio, Martas Sohn hatte zu unseren Ausflugsplänen immer super Tipps, was man sich anschauen sollte und was ggf. auch nicht. Auch waren seine Anfahrts- und Parkhinweise extrem hilfreich. Unser Zimmer hatte einen Balkon, auf dem wir den sonnigen Morgen gerne mit einem Kaffee genossen haben. Von Martas Guesthouse haben wir Ausflüge nach Pisa, Víareggio, Portosanta, Florenz und Lucca unternommen. Die Orte sind bis auf Florenz recht nah gelegen. Der Nassbereich war früher einmal im Zimmer nachträglich eingebaut worden, war im Prinzip auch ausreichend dimensioniert, die Dusche hatte ein gewöhnungsbedürftiges Maß (breit aber wenig tief). Hat aber auch funktioniert.
• Machada (10/5): Heerlijk en buitengewoon gastvrij om bij Giorgio en Marta te verblijven, super lieve mensen. - Ontbijt was boven verwachting & Italiaans, en de volgende dag had Marta zelfs extra bruschetta en een bagel met ei gemaakt vanwege mijn allergieen. Fantastisch!

It’s cozy and not too big, which means there aren’t too many guests at once — a perfect place for a relaxing stay. Marta and her son Giorgio were amazing hosts: very welcoming and attentive to our needs, yet never intrusive. We truly felt at home and would definitely love to come back!

Die liebevoll eingerichtete Unterkunft, ein toller grosser Garten mit vielen schattigen Plätzen um das abwechslungsreiche Frühstück zu genießen zusammen mit zwei phantastischen Gastgebern machten unseren Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz Besonderm.

Perfecte locatie: halfuurtje met de auto naar het strand, 10 minuten met de auto naar Pisa en Lucca en een klein uurtje naar Florence. Lekker ontbijt in de grote tuin met verschillende zitjes. De gastheer en gastvrouw komen dan even langs voor een gezellig praatje en tips over de uitstapjes die je kunt gaan maken. Prachtige schone kamers. Een aanrader voor iedereen. Wij komen zeker nog eens terug.

They were so helpful and kind throughout our stay. The breakfasts were delicious and varied — every morning was a real treat! It was hard to say goodbye when we left; their home is filled with genuine warmth and a cozy, heartfelt atmosphere. I felt like I was leaving family behind. Thank you for everything! -

• Dieter (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice and well-kept villa with a large garden (seating and loungers for relaxing), about 5km outside Lucca. Outstanding breakfast, which you could enjoy in the morning in the garden/on the terrace. The villa is family-run, the atmosphere and service extremely friendly and helpful, whether it was a personal chat, tips and suggestions for things to do or restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, there is a dog in the neighbourhood that often barked, even at night. However, this is not the fault of the guest house.

Great breakfast in the beautiful gardens and Giorgio was a wonderful host, happily providing information on restaurants and suggestions for outings and parking in surrounding towns. Parking on site. Nothing. It was a great!
• David (10/5): Magical - This is a magical place to stay with the best host, we could not have felt more welcome. The actual accommodation is not luxury and it is quite cosy but anything lacking there was more than compensated for by the charm of the place. Breakfast was wonderful, sitting in the pretty gardens with gentle music and happy family groups spread around; the food was delicious too. The shared fridge for your own things worked well (no fridges in rooms) and the ‘mini market’ of cold drinks and wine on an honesty system was appreciated. Cold water, kettle for hot drinks etc available always. Loved our huge terrace with beautiful views

They went out of their way to provide us great tips on where to go and what to see. We appreciated all their input. The breakfast was phenomenal and you will not walk away hungry! It was a great place if you had a car. If you don’t have a car, you will have difficulty getting around.

Great breakfast Great and authentic atmosphere We slept in a unit that is near the main house, so things might be different in the rooms... but in the unit, the beds/ sofa weren't so comfortable. The hot water were not enough for the whole family. Wifi connection was pretty low.

They have recreated a historical building, down to the smallest details. The location is perfect, the gardens and villa we'll tended to, the room clean and sunny. Rich and tasty breakfast. He gave us information about places to eat, visit. When we were let down for our transport from the train station he came at very short notice to get us. The breakfast was lovely and a good selection available to choose from. My recommendation would be if you are staying at this lovely place please have your own transport, we didn’t and used public transport , easy if you want to get a bus to Lucca but a lot more difficult to get to the train station and Airport. Neighbouring dogs barking.

For us it was perfect - The decorations and furniture are chosen with much thought and love, makes the whole house so charming and comfortable - also the hosts are very nice and so helpful. Breakfast was plenty with some home made variations every day. Great Italian coffee. Free fresh and ice cold water to take to the room. Just a cozy and clean feeling, with a great location to visit the Lucca/Pisa area

• Amy (10/5): Wonderful stay in the Tuscan Countryside! - We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Marta Guest House. If you’re looking for a homey, quiet, comfortable villa in the Tuscan hills this is it! Close drive to Lucca but is located in the quiet countryside. Restaurants and pasticceria around the corner. If you’re into hiking, be sure to do Dante’s pass behind the villa. It has an amazing view of the valley, Lucca, Pisa and the sea in the distance. Marta and her son Georgio work very hard to make your stay comfortable and personal. The breakfast they put on are amazing! Home made and change daily. We always looked forward to coming down to see what they had the next day. The other staff like kitchen help/room clean also work hard. If we come back to the area we will definitely book at Marta’s again!!

What's also great is that it was very easy to chat with the other guests, the atmosphere is relaxed and easy going. Bed was quite hard and uncomfortable, but that was the only thing we did not like, would heartily recommend the place.

Marta is at the peak of her own passion to deliver a great experience, there is nothing to be improved for us. It is a family run guest house and they did everything over and above to make our stay a great experience.

They were very accommodating for our late check-in and we liked every bit of our stay. The rooms were cleaned every day with new towels. The breakfast prepared by the team was fulfilling and it was a kickstart to our trips around Pisa and Florence. We would love to come back again. Installing a shower divider would enhance the bathroom experience by containing water within the shower area, thus keeping the rest of the bathroom dry and minimising cleanup efforts.

• David (9/5): Relaxing stay in beautiful villa where you are well looked after - Beautiful house, lovingly restored. Great spacious bedroom with a big balcony overlooking the garden. Very copious breakfast with the opportunity to taste Marta's specially-prepared local specialities, both sweet and savoury. Marta also provided lots of useful advice about interesting places to visit nearby which you wouldn't necessarily think of. Not really a negative point, but just to point out that an 8.30 start for breakfast is late for anybody who wants to leave and go visiting early. But then Marta's breakfasts do demand a lot of preparation and it's an experience (food, service and environment) that you wouldn't want to miss!

It is a beautifully kept house and in a great location as it is quiet and about 20 minutes drive to Lucca. There are plenty of places to eat out in the village in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't recommend it highly enough. Nothing
• Mark (9/5): Excellent location near Pisa, good breakfast, friendly hostess. - Excellent location between Pisa and Lucca for someone with a car. Very good breakfast made with love. Quiet. Marta the hostess was very helpful and speaks English. To maximize space in the room and to not have an external bathroom the shower area was tight. But this was a good compromise for having a nice room.

• Camilla (10/5): Amazing stay in the middle between Lucca and Pisa - Marta is an amazing host and treats her guests as family and takes good care of everyone. Her staff is also so amazing. We came by bus and did not know about the holiday in Italy, so very few busses drove at that time. Marta organized so that we still could do the things we wanted to do and Bini drove us to both train station and Lucca. They became our Italian madre e padre! We have glutenfree diet and got special dishes for breakfast – also amazing! We are grateful for the beautiful stay in the middle between Lucca and Pisa and hope to be able to return one day.
