Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): - thé prom service was only y’a 1am of 6 am iff you comming at 7pm you need to buy 10€ for extras
- Trine Stilhof (4/5): You get less for what you pay for - We had a lovely visit in beautiful Rome, but not thanks to Angela Roma guesthouse.
Our room smelled like a Chinese grill everyday, we didn’t get fresh/cleaned towels and sheets - they changed them 2 times in 6 days.
The staff was not available and our room lay next to a small hall, where guests could use the microwave and make coffee which was very loudly. We were woken up 5am in the morning by these sounds.
The bath was terrible (very hot/very cold shifts of temperature) and we had to use the guest bathroom, which was just as bad.
The hairdryer was perfect though. And the nabourhood surroundings was not flattering, but ok. Close to metro if you decided to give your feet a small break :-)
We will definitely visit Rome again, but not Angela Roma.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I couldn’t find the place. The address is not actually where they are and they give no information as to where they moved to.
Struttura abbandonata, assistenza 0
- chengzhong (2/5): Bad - it's so bad that I lived. I don't think it's a confortable place in Roma.
- Peter (6/5): Close to transport needed. - The rooms are in third floor and the elevator broke down . For old people is not good. The neighborhood on the street is iffy.
- Jacob (2/5): Worst stay in Rome. - The whole day the personal at the hotel was so loudly and scream all the time. If your plan was to sleep longer than 7.00 you had to change your mind. Then suddenly, late in evening could the same thing happen again, the personal could come and be very loudly.
The fridge at the hotel smelled like there was a dead animal in there and the shower worked very bad. It was really hard to shower without doing the whole bathroom wet.
"No no.. we do no anymore" ja perään hirveästi käsien levittelyä. Tästä kärsi hieman myös matkan ruokabudjetti, koska olimme varautuneet joka päivä huoneen hintaan sisältyvään aamiaiseen.
Eli yhteenvetona:
- Emme suosittele "B&B" Angela Rome hotellia kenellekään lomamatkailijalle
-Freundliches Personal
- Amjad shalatouni (8/5): Value for money - Because i travelled in octobervit wasnot a tourist peak time so i found it almost empty and calm and helpfull.
Internet was verry good ,cleannes was daily ,and location was verry helpfull.i will book there again next time.
- Sam (2/5): WARNING: BED BUGS! - Do not stay at this place if you can help it. We were bitten by bed bugs and when we went to change rooms, a woman from the "Central Inn" next door came over and tried to deny that 'they' (Angela Roma) had bed bugs.
She told us that they were mosquito bites even though they were clearly welts. She made some attempt to offer to try and treat the welts with some cream from a first aid kit.
We went and saw a Doctor in Rome who confirmed they were bed bug bites and that we needed to change rooms. It was only then that she conceded and we were moved to a different room.
Given what we were paying we did not have high expectations. We were fine with the following issues listed below:
- The 'Hotel' (Hostel) is very difficult to find as it is part of an apartment complex.
- Our room was 2 blocks away from the reception in another apartment building.
- Although they advertise themselves as a 'Bed & Breakfast', there is no real breakfast. Just an Orange Juice popper (warm, as there is no fridge in the room) and two different pastries in plastic wrappers.
- The TV did not work in either rooms we stayed in.
- There is no wifi in the apartment building we stayed in.
Our only issue was the bed bugs.
- Rich (4/5): Rome - The hotel was first in a neighborhood that didn't look safe. Then the room was too small and television was really small. They had community showers with no towels. Service personnel were excellent, but not up to my standard for the price.
- Johan (2/5): angela roma - great location, bad hotel - We stayed there for 6 nights and it was great as far as the location goes. The rest wasnt all that good. The personel was quite rude and kept bugging us for the payment even after i payed. The "breakfast" was a juice box and two cookies. They didnt change the sheets once and we had to change rooms after the first night and "be at the reception with our bags at 9 am tomorrow to change rooms". When we arrive at the reception they tell us we have to wait until after 2 am so they have time to clean the rooms... After a long and screamy conversation on the phone with another staffmember we get the room. The wifi broke down the last 4 days.
We did not have a very good stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): A sad place to stay - We were looking for a budget place to stay in, but had we seen the place in actual, we'd definitely pay more to stay elsewhere.
Place is near Termini and the subway, which is good. Neighborhood tends to be scary at night, maybe just because of the overall look and upkeep of the building and its surroundings. Community is Chinese and Indians, so it's hard to find authentic Italian restos nearby. Look of the B&B is sad, to say the least. The signage in the lobby is made of styrofoam, a little more effort could have gone a long way. The Chinese owner (?) doesn't speak English, just Italian and Chinese. It was also confusing talking to different people about our concerns - they seem to work at the Inn next door and just helping the guy out. There's practically no one at the reception counter all day long. Air conditioning is a free standing air cooler. Breakfast was a tetra pack of juice and some hard, dry pastry -- not really breakfast. Wifi was not functioning in the rooms, you had to go to the stairwell and borrow the wifi from the neighboring inn. Towels were given at the end of the day, since "they weren't delivered yet" from the cleaners. Shower area flooded always because of the poor design. Water heat in the shower fluctuated. Overall area was dimly lit... obviously the owner is trying to save on electricity expenses. Interior of the whole place was lacking.
To be fair, at least the beds were clean and fixed everyday. You could also get free water from the dispenser outside. But that's about it.
Overall, I think I researched too little on Rome hotels that's why I ended up here. Better get another hotel even if it's a bit more expensive. Not worth destroying your vacation over this b&b. You'd also feel embarrassed staying here. First time I experienced a sort of self-serve hotel/b&b.. I guess you really get what you pay for. But for this, I think I still paid too much for what we got.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Value for location and budget - This B&B is a reasonable choice for budget conscious yet demanding traveler. It is conveniently located near a subway station (Vittorio Emanuele) and main train station Roma Termini. My family was able to tour all major tourist attraction (except the Vatican) by foot from the hotel. It is clean and safe, but don't expect any 5-star service. Receptionist is NOT always available and definitely not during off hours. We checked out at 7 am and simply left the key on the desk (prepaid the day before). Overall, worth considering and I will stay there again.
gående (man går i Roms antikke bydel).
- Anonymous (8/5): good location and price, nice - good location and price, nice room but poor atmosphere. Basically great if you go there to sleep only.
- Vic.toria (10/5): Cozy and very good B&B place next to Train Station - Although located on 3rd floor of living house, hard to identify at the beginning and in a bit strange but safe neighbourhood (mostly asian people who keep here shops and small cafes), once found - is very comfortable, nice, clean inexpensive small hotel.Rooms have refrigerator, very good bathroom, LC TV, neatly decorated and has enough space.Location: 10 mins from Termini Train Station, 2 mins from V.Emanuelle subway station and 500m from St.Maria Maggiore (center), super market and small "eateries" are down the street.Small breakfast and Wi-Fi included.Personnel is helpful, nice, english speaking.Overall impression - very good!
- mark (6/5): In an unsafe area and difficult - In an unsafe area and difficult to find. Owners spoke no english and was hard to communicate. We had to move to another room after one night, but could barely understand what they were trying to tell us. TV didnt work, breakfast was down the street and was barely worth going to. Close to Termini (main station) and Vittorio Emannuelle on the metro. Would not stay here again.
- Wayne (6/5): Breakfast consists of cake and - Breakfast consists of cake and coffee, What a joke. Situated in the sleazy section of Rome. Not recommended, try somewhere else.
- Chow (8/5): A simple B&B hotel with good location. - A simple B&B hotel with good location. very near to the train station and the owner is very nice and helpful.
- Elitsa (10/5): Hotel Angela B&B has a very good - Hotel Angela B&B has a very good location. It's easy to reach the central bus, metro and train station Termini, and the city center as well. Hotel is very clean, facilities are basic, stuff is very kind, but it's not very easy to find it, because there is any sign. The district isn't also very safe - there are too much immigrants.
- mark (10/5): nice place, a bit small and the - nice place, a bit small and the chinese guy only spoke italian. little ard to work out.
- Daniela (6/5): toilette and bathroom facilities - toilette and bathroom facilities could be cleaner, service is very basic, but breakfast is really poor. please offer a decent expresso and a proper pastry
- Steve Kemp (2/5): Don't go here - I stayed in 5 Italian hotel rooms. This was the only bad experience. My wife and I left after one night, were refused a refund and were willing to pay 160 euro to stay somewhere else. It's in a rough part of town, no one speaks english, the room we had was a community bathroom, and the walls were made of paper mache. The bed was also less than futon quality. I've seen better halfway houses in Indianapolis.
- Anonymous (2/5): worst place to stay in Rome - this was listed as a three star B&B, nothing could be further from the truth. This place was worse than a bad youth hostel. Dirty, small, and you would think that a 3 star would have in room facilities. Out of room facilities were shared by far too many people. Owner/desk clerk watched chinese tv program very loudly outside my door until 0230 when I had to get out of bed and ask him to turn it off. [...]
- john (6/5): They should supply a fan for summer - They should supply a fan for summer months.
- DEBORAH (8/5): Good value for money - location - Good value for money - location close to train station and main bus and metro network.
- Kathleen (8/5): We were really surprisd that the - We were really surprisd that the hotel was so good after reading other people´s reports. We just missed coffee making facilities.
- Anonymous (6/5): Nice, clean and comfortable - Overall my experience was satisfactory. I especially appreciated the excellent wifi connection. Location was within walking distance to the Colleseum and the main train station. My biggest complaint was that because there was no sign outside the building it took me about an hour to initially find Angela. No one I asked on the streets had heard of it. I later helped another traveler who walked away from the entrance thinking she was in the wrong place. I was also hoping for a better breakfast. The cafe played noisy loud music and served only a cappucino and pastry.
- Anonymous (6/5): Rome - a nice and clean hostel like B&B - Simple, nice and clean. Not expensive. Good deal. No staff. It is not a hotel but bed and breakfast. Many different apartments in a big apartment complex very close to the station, and so I didnt mind.. I loved that I could walk to the station. It is definitely not a hotel experience, and I wouldnt say it gives you a bed and breakfast experience. It is a hostel experience.
- Anonymous (4/5): Not good for someone with allergies - If you're on a budget, this place is ok. It's also walking distance to the train station which is why I chose this place in the first place. However...don't expect to have a peaceful night's rest. You can hear everything from your room; and when I was there, it was particularly noisy and messy! Not to mention, very dusty which didn't help with my allergies. No 24-hr english-speaking staff. But they do have free wi-fi which is pretty cool.
- Anonymous (2/5): [...] youth hostel - [...]this is an immigrant run youth hostel posing as a 3* hotel. It doesn't deserve any stars at all and they even tried to charge me double for having a guest stay with me (my girlfriend). Spend the extra money and stay in a real hotel with a bathroom in the room. I felt like I was staying in an office room with a bed in it. Absolutely awful. I'd rather have slept in the park.
- Anonymous (10/5): Weekend in Rome - This people are the best the hotel is just on one subway exit from ROMA termini, Great location great price, great the cornetto and Cappuccino included in the price at the near bar ... no bathroom in the room but spotless two bathroom to share with floor, well if you can leave with that this place is the best for place and price!!!!! A++++++++++
- Anonymous (8/5): Great place in rome - Staff was friendly and helpful, even got what i needed for my room to make it more comfortable and enjoyable. I can certainly say though the its a smaller place, it was quite, clean and you could not ask for a friendlier staff in helping you find your way around Rome. I will definently be staying there again.
- Anonymous (6/5): Excellent location for the price - Excellent location for the price, staff eager to help. The only problem is that We supposed to have our own bathroom, but it was a shared bathroom (it was not a big deal after all because the hotel is small and not very crowed). No breakfast is included, only a voucher to get a coffee or something small from a close cafe
- Anonymous (8/5): Decent location and good price - Angela BB is right on the Piazza Vittorio Emmanuele, within 50 metres from metro station. It is very close to the main railway station - Roma Termini. The cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore is within 5 minutes of walking. The hotel is of a hostel type really, but we had a room for two of us with all facilites in there. They do not provide breakfast, but rather give vouchers for a neighboring cafe where you can have a cup of coffee and croissant. Stuff did not speak much English, but we managed to communicate and they were friendly. It was clean and orderly (not noisy).
