Guest Reviews
- Jakob Horsbøl (10/5): - I had a wonderful time at B&B Belfiore. The host, Rosa, was really friendly and helpful, and the service was really personal. Breakfast had all the things you would need, and also had a nice coffee machine. The room and the bathroom was super clean, and I had no issues at all during my stay. Would definitely recommend!
- Patricia (10/5): Wonderful! - It was much more than I expected! Super clean and well organized! Rosy is a wonderful person and works with love! She let us check in early and leave the luggage there after check out! I definitely would stay there again!
- Brian (10/5): Perfectly clean and comfortable. - Excellent.! Like staying at Grandma's House.!!
- Tricia (10/5): Amazing stay! - I went to Italy with my mom for 2 weeks last month and this was our favourite bnb that we stayed at on our whole trip. It was very comfortable and i felt so safe in it, surely because of the owner, Rosa. Breakfast is available for €3 and she takes care of everything, make your coffee etc. The room that we stayed was so comfortable and she even let us choose which room we wanted to stay. Overall a very lovely stay i would give her 11/10 and would definitely come back. Her daughter is so adorable too!
Location is good too only 10mins walk to attractions
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Small friendly hotel. No breakfast provided. Close to train station.
- Diana (10/5): Family holiday - Stay was amazing. Bed was comfortable, amenities good and staff were lovely and helpful.
- Carmelo (4/5): Esperienza mediocre - La host è stata molto disponibile. La struttura è vecchiotta e poco confortevole. Abbiamo fatto tanta fatica a dormire perché divorati dalle zanzare.
- Olivia (10/5): Perfect spot and a beautiful view! - This B&B was the cutest little place ever! We chose it because the rate was so good not really know where it was located in town or how good the quality would be but it was amazing! Out balcony was so adorable with such a pretty view and everything was so clean!
Roses the woman that works there was so sweet! And so accommodating with all of our needs!! I highly recommend this B&B. And it’s only a quick 10-15 minute walk to the duomo and about 8-10 minute walk to the train station.
- Ian (10/5): Great friendly service - Rosa was very welcoming and friendly. Gave lots of advice and information. Thanks for everything.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place, nice host - Fantastic host who will patiently explain to you all the interesting places to go. Cheap and good breakfast.
- Xavier (10/5): - Great location near train station an walking distance to main sites.
- Chloe (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Very spacious and comfortable rooms with very accommodating and helpful service. Easy walk to the station and into the city centre, would happily return.
- Marco (6/5): - Tutto bene. Pulito, conforme alla prenotazione, personale accogliente e disponibile.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Couple visiting Florence - The room was very nice and was comfortable for a place to shower and sleep for the night. A slight downside that is not the fault of the hotel is there are currently roadworks in the area making some walking routes awkward.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Close to very loud street and smelled of stale smoke, but was cheap, clean and close to the central station.
- Sharon (6/5): good location, old building - B&B was not what we expected. You have to pay extra for breakfast. A quad room was a regular room with an extra cot put in it. Very old building. The shower only had 3 of 4 panels to close the shower off. The toilet quit flushing; however, when called, they showed up in 10 min to repair--outstanding.
- Sharon (4/5): OK for the price - The room was adequate, clean. there was a 2.5 ft space at the bottom of the bed to walk by to the restroom. The breakfast (advertised as bed and breakfast) was a ticket stub to go next door and have 1 cup coffee, 1 juice and 1 sweet roll each. There is no sign outside to indicate the B&B and no elevator--you are on the 3d floor and have to walk up stairs to the room with your luggage. The staff, however, are very accommodating.
- jim (4/5): OK - Great room and very nice people but let down by its location and the fact that the aircon couldn't cope with the heat.
The room was clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom and a good shower. This would be a good choice for a cheaper room in spring or autumn, but in 30 degree heat in June it was just a bit too far from the main attractions to be comfortable.
There was nowhere to escape the heat because the aircon didn't really cool the room properly (at all) and there was too much noise from the road outside to have the window open. Just a fan in the room to keep us cool at night would have made all the difference, but as it is, we would not stay there again.
- Vivienne (6/5): B&B near railway station - Don't believe others when they tell you this is too far from the railway station. Its only 11 minutes walk with my luggage. Rosy and her husband has been so accomodating with our request for late checkin. The rooms are spacious and clean.
- Christina (10/5): Great hotel in a convenient location - Nice hotel in a good location with hospitable and nice service, which rare in Italy. Great value for the money.
- Blondie1171 (6/5): Great location, but only average accommodation - Nowhere to get drinks in morning & evening and no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. But 5-10 mins walk from all tourist attractions.
- David (6/5): Good as a last minute option - We searched two months prior to our trip for a room in Florence with free Wi-Fi and had 6-8 better options for our budget 2-3 star range, but we waited until just a week prior to make our reservation and the other places were gone. As a last minute deal it was OK. The room felt old and furniture just thrown together. Double bed was two twins pushed together. However, it was clean. It is in a residential neighborhood with few tourists, which makes it safer, but it was also a 10-minute walk from the main train station, 15-minute drive to airport, and had few places to eat within going at least 5 blocks away. That was fine with us; we are happy to trade safety for convenience. At night it was a bit noisy from the street - mostly bus and scooter noises. I saw in other reviews it had an odd plumbing system and they were right. It is a noisy system like a water pump and emits a funny odor, though not terrible. It had good water pressure. Breakfast was mostly packaged food, though coffee was excellent, and there was no dining area so we had trays to take the food back to our room. It was OK, but I would try other places in same price range before going back again. It is not well marked from the street, just a small sign on a large building that has several other businesses on lower floors. The small 2-person elevator was very quaint and effective. Push the button for Belfiore to the right of the door and Rosy will answer.
- Ruth (8/5): Good budget hotel in Florence - We found the Belfiore to be an excellent low-budget option for Florence - just 10 minutes walk from the main station, and with bus stops close by. Located on the second floor of a historic building, there is a lift which feels a bit cranky but didn't let us down. Nice self-serve breakfast with cereal, breads, cakes, fruit and coffee. Very friendly owner with excellent English who happily researched bus times for us, and gave advice about places to visit. On the downside, our room looked over a main road which was noisy well into the night. However, overall we enjoyed our stay.
- liz (10/5): Great hotel, very good value - Great value hotel that isn't a value hotel. The hotel is on the 3rd floor of a traditional Italian building, there is a lift. The owner was extremely friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The room was of a great size and we had a nice balcony which we could eat our breakfast on. The breakfast is laid out in the kitchen but taken back to the room to eat. This worked perfectly for us and meant we could relax over breakfast without rushing. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk to the train station and about 15 minutes to Duomo, alternatively there is a bus stop around the corner which will take you right into the main areas of florence. All in all, I think it's the perfect hotel for Florence if you're for something good value.
- RC (6/5): Noisy surroundings - Was nice enough. Staff were friendly and rooms very spacious. Breakfast was a bit sparse and all packaged. But main problem was noise in the mornings. Right on a big main road with no ability to properly shut the windows so waking up very early each morning because of all the traffic.
- Bus (8/5): Good economical option in Florence - Great base for an economical exploration of Florence. Rosey was an amazing host and made sure we got the best from our experience.
- Op (6/5): Okay if on a budget, however read on ... - Be warned that upon entering the building, you may be worried by the smell of smoke and unslightly carpet at the main entrance of the building. however, the B & B is within the building on one part of the 3rd floor. this is a budget room and that is what you will get. that said, I would still recommend one room. We were 2 in the "Mimosa" room at first which was small but quaint, clean and relatively quiet, with a private bathroom. I would only recommend staying in this room if it is available but not the others because it sits back away from the noisy street side. The bed was a bit slouchy, but not too bad. Would be good for a solo traveler or young/backpackers who are on a budget. Would be fine for 2 night stay if busy sight seeing all day.
Without us asking, we were offered a larger room the second and third nights when it became available. We thought that was nice and believe the offer was made with good intentions. However, this was a mistake since that room (Iris, I think was the name on the room)) faces the noisy street and is not as nicely decorated as the smaller room. Also, the bathroom in that room has some strange plumbing. It worked, but was quite noisy and smelled a bit. No window and poor ventilation makes that bathroom less than desirable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good position - Great position could walk to all sites very helpful manager old building but clean
- CFIGUY (6/5): Convenient to train station and a good value. - Bathroom was electric meaning an electric sump was used to dispose of the drain from the shower, sink and toilet. Breakfast was better than others in this category. The helpfulness and friendliness of the staff overcame any shortcomings.
- Kirstine (10/5): Great place - We really enjoyed this place as it was close to the train station and really you dont need to take a taxi to get to the place. 10 min walk. Rosa was very nice and made a good cup of coffee. There was a laundry place up the street, so easy to do a load of laundry. Very central to everything we wanted.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel - Not in the center but only ten minutes walk. Very homey and comfortable.
- Rong (8/5): price price price - classical italian room, good price, good service, good choice!
- Family Guy (8/5): No problems - Nice staff - Nice room, really cool converted condo to a B&B. Bathroom smelled a little funny - probably needed to vent the toilet pump to the outside. Staff was very nice and helpful - decent English. Would stay there again. Only about a 10min walk from train station.
- A.P. (8/5): - The hotel is walking distance from the train station, though just barely in hot weather, especially if you have bags. The streets were a bit noisy. It's on the edge of a business district. away from the touristy section, though that's walking distance also. There are no nearby restaurants open after business hours, so take that into account if you are out and about. The neighborhood was a bit iffy, ok in daylight, but I'd be cautious after dark. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room furnished with antiques, which was kind of cool.
- Ricardo (8/5): - For a really last minute trip to Florence, this B&B was very accommodating, I booked only one night and decided to stay an extra and they were able to keep me in the same room and did not get upset for such last minute request. really close to the termini S.M Novella and like 10 minutes from the Main plaza with the Dome and all the transportation. The room was very clean and very nice for a B&B.
- Nat (8/5): B&B Belfiore - We stayed 4 nights at the Belfiore and found it close to all the sights and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. It is conveniently located near the train station and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is a buffet of cakes, cereals, toast and beverages, they can even make you a cappuccino, cafe latte etc. There are some great restaurants and a supermarket close by. We stayed in the room with the extended bathroom, meaning that it was located outside the room and our room was a tad small, but given that we were out and about all day and only there to sleep it didn't bother us. All other rooms, however, were quite large and included a private bathroom! Would highly recommend staying there.
- MCSH (6/5): Good value for money - The street outside was noisy in the morning, peak hour. Breakfast was plentiful but typically Italian, cake, bread, cereals, good coffee. Friendly owner, happy to answer questions and provide information about places of interest and public transport etc. Very close to main station.
- Aaron (10/5): Very Friendly and Central Location - My wife and I stayed here for two nights in October 2011. The husband and wife owners are very friendly and helpful. The location is about 5 minutes walk from the train station. The hotel is not in the historic center, but about 5 minutes walk away. The hotel isn't fancy, but clean and in a safe area. I would recommend this hotel. A very good value for the money.
Aaron from Clearwater, Florida
- Eileen (10/5): Will definitely recommend to friends - I had a few days off between jobs, found Belfiore through Expedia, and I am extremely happy with it. It has a warm, welcoming feel to it, a real family place, and it's well situated, too, only a short walk from the main railway station.
It's very relaxed, too, with a self service breakfast till 10am, and the rooms are huge, with lovely old furniture, as well as new bits, too.
Although it's on a main road, and I am pretty sensitive to noise, it hasn't bothered me, because we are on the third floor (yes, there is a lift!), and there are double windows, etc.
In short, I would definitely stay here again, if I get to visit Florence!
- Daryl (10/5): Bed & Breakfast Belfiore - The hotel is what I would term as a 'High Class Hostel'.
Good Points
1. The receptionist, Rosie, is a very friendly, helpful and warm person, and went the extra mile to making us feel right at home. Also very informative, told us what we had to see during our short stay in Firenze.
2. Room was spacious and bed very comfortable.
3. Breakfast was good. =)
4. Convenient location - Only 7mins walk away from the main train station of Firenze. Grocery store 5mins walk away. Bus stop just around the corner of the hotel, making it very easy to go from the hotel to the train station within a few minutes, that is, if you are lazy to walk.
Bad Points
1. Toilet was operated using electricity, which made quite a lot of noise when water was consumed, as the electrical system had to ensure that water was being pumped back into the water tanks.
2. Receptionist is not available 24hours a day.
