Guest Reviews
- Carryn2013 (8/5): Lovely little hotel. - Small but lovely hotel, perfectly positioned in the old town, minuts walk from Marienplatz, the Haufbrauhaus, Maximillionstrasse. We stayed in the 5th floor apartment, it was worth the last flight of stairs for the extra lounge space with teenagers.
- 453alexisc (10/5): Great customer service! - A big shout out to Nano who provided great customer service and I would return to this hotel because of him. The hotel is in a fabulous location and you can tell they really care about how much you enjoy your stay here. Great customer service!
- Magin (6/5): - The room is very small (just keep that in mind) . Best part is the location. Close to everything. Very safe..
- Alexis (2/5): Beware, front desk is mostly unmanned - We woke up with no power in the morning. Correction we had power for 5 mins and then it switched off. Our neighbor as well did not have power and had to keep his door open to get dressed so he could see. We had to shower and get ready completely in the dark.
I went downstairs and could not find anyone to help so I messaged the hotel through the hotel app. I should mention that this hotel does not have a front desk so it is largely unmanned. There is someone in the back during some hours of the day but even when you check in you have check in on their computer.
Air conditioning kept going out all night as well so we had to keep getting up to turn it on as the room was so hot.
To top it off the room had not been cleaned. We didn't leave the sign asking for it not to be cleaned and I confirmed with the hotel that they clean each day. They had been in our room because they gave us new towels which they threw on the bed. They also opened the window for some reason. The wet dirty towels were left on the floor and they did not make the bed or give us more toilet paper. I had to get it myself out of the storage closet as no one was at the front desk again.
I was given the Manager's contact info to relay my concerns but she didn't respond, not the best customer service.
I have some basic needs like power, a working air conditioning and a clean room would be nice. Due to their mostly unmanned desk and extreme lack of customer service I would not recommend.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Good location
- tomgY678PV (10/5): Great location near Hofbrauhaus and Marienplatz! - The location can't be beat! You are within a block of the Hofbrauhaus and a short walk to Marienplatz. We even walked to and from the train station with our roller bags which took about 20 minutes. The rooms are snug but comfortable, clean and newly renovated. There is a mini fridge and coffee maker in each room. We rented 4 rooms for our family (two doubles and two singles) which worked out great for us and our adult children. Would stay there again!
- Joanne (10/5): - Excellent location. Small but modern and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Christine (10/5): - Small room but clean. The bed was very uncomfortable. There seemed to be construction going on right outside of the hotel so it was noisy in the morning
- Joni (10/5): - If you have been on cruises expect small compact room like a ship- but with that said and no complaints property in the best location, safe, walkable to everything and their advertising shows rooms perfectly as they are. Nice Large shower- room clean and you can stream your Netflix or favorite from their tv.
Prost!
- chriso214 (6/5): Not horrible but location isn't everything - Starting with the positive things, the location was great. Central to the old city yet on a quiet street. We walked into a deserted lobby but once the young lady realized we were there, she was very helpful with the check-in process. Now the less positive things. The room was very small (1 ft clearance on 2 sides of the bed and about 3' on the 3rd side). We took the unnecessary throw pillows off the bed and they took up 1/2 of the available shelves. There was a chair (which I would have normally appreciated) but it almost blocked walking around one corner of the bed. We've stayed in small rooms before but in these cases, a minimalist design is best. The bathroom....the shower had a strange bifold glass door for about 1/3 of the perimeter. The rest was open. The lack of shower walls is fine if the shower is designed to prevent flooding. This one obviously was not designed with that in mind. Where there was no wall, they had used weatherstripping on the perimeter of the shower and this had come unstuck. When we used the toilet, we discovered the reason for the bifold door. The toilet was so close to the shower that you had to fold that door so you could sit down. Maybe we just got a bad room.
- Jan (10/5): - Wonderful top floor apartment that was perfect for my family. Can’t wait to return.
- GasMans_dad (10/5): Great quiet hotel as good base for family - Great little hotel and although close to the centre in the old town really quiet. Fabulous for anyone looking for a base to visit Munich and area
- Jason (4/5): - The rooms are extremely small. The beds are really soft if you like that. The pillows are like a giant pillow case with another pillow case inside it. When you lay your head on it, it is like you don't even have a pillow at all. Besides the cramp space and uncomfortable bed, if you arrive on Sunday you will not have access to your room as there is no staff available on that day from our experience. It was clean, though. But that is always to be expected. Munich is Awesome, though and the location is great..
- William (10/5): - Great hotel as a base even if there are no dining facilities. Easy reach of all the old town
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff were very helpful and kind. The hotel is very close to all sorts of activities and shopping, everything is a walk away. It is located on a quiet street, which was great. The room smelled a bit odd but it was clean. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!
- Alex (10/5): - Great location! Friendly staff.
- Johnny (10/5): - Would definitely stay again.
- Steven (6/5): - Itwas a clean room but very small. It was ok for the one night we were there. The toilet did not function properly ,and the beds were super soft, no support. Other than that it was a resonable place to stay. Great location
- Bill (10/5): - Very easy online check in process, the fact that you can use your phone to open your room door and main entrance is a plus.
- andrew (10/5): Good overnight stop - Nice hotel, good location in old city
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean rooms and reception space, friendly service, and fantastic location!
- Ruth (10/5): - This was a great little room. The room was tiny and cozy, and very quiet and secure. It was clean and had a teapot for making tea or coffee. The self-check-in was a little confusing to me, but a staff was on site to help me out. The hotel is very convenient to the Marienplatz train station.
- ericfleck (10/5): Great Location - We stayed in the 3 bedroom unit during our visit to Germany. Rooms were clean and service was great. Our unit had a family room and 3 bedrooms. Only negatives were no TV’s in the bedrooms and the elevator doesn’t go to the top. We had to carry our stuff up 2 levels.
- Oliver (10/5): - Small, moderised hotel around the corner from the Hofbräuhaus. I spent a single night in a small, modern room. Excellent deal for single traveller also for several days of stay. Location is excellent.
- Grant (10/5): - Third time staying here - the location is perfect for enjoying the old town! The rooms are thoughtfully laid out to efficiently use the compact space, while providing a beautiful aesthetic and a fun experience. Will definitely stay here again!
- Christopher (8/5): - Cute and simple boutique hotel in the heart of old town Munich. Friendly staff and a great no frills (no room service, gym, or amenities, but it was perfect for out stay. A great, comfortable place to stay.
- John (10/5): - Very cleaneasy access to places
- Jon (10/5): - Great hotel, excellent location, I would highly recommend!
- Christopher (8/5): - Convenient to all Munich attractions and beer halls, however there wasn’t enough staff on the property.
- Maria V (10/5): - No staff, everything was done essentially by phone but great place, no need to interact with anyone and everything was clean and simple
- Maureen (8/5): - Great location. Clean property just small.
- Explorer190451 (10/5): Great Centrally Located Accommodation in Munich - Had a great stay in this centrally located accommodation.
Team Members were friendly and helpful with recommendations.
Room was spacious (we had 3 bed apartment). While we thought this would have a washing machine and kitchen due to being an apartment, this did not impact our stay.
Beds were comfortable and entire apartment was warm enough with the air conditioning unit alone.
Would defiantly recommend.
- Sherry (6/5): Christmas Market Stay - The hotel was clean and maintained. Check in was easy but I booked 2 rooms and they gave us a room on the first floor and a room on the fourth floor. The elevator only fits one or two people at a time. The room was clean and the bed was comfy but the shower flooded the bathroom. It in a great location and the staff is friendly but the rooms are super small.
- Richard (8/5): - Very private, nice people, great location.
- Alicia (6/5): - All staff was very nice, but the room overall was beat up. Looked like cheaper materials were used and they can’t stand up to all the guests. Lighting was very minimal, could have used a main overhead light instead of the small ones there.
- 93tammyh (10/5): Such a beautiful stay! - This hotel is charming and very steps away from to the old town. Parking was easy and we walked to most of the sites. The metro stop is across the street, if you want to venture beyond the old town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was huge! And make sure to check out their breakfast.
- alleclercq (8/5): Great and convenient with only two downsides. - It’s a really nice hotel, which is situated right in the center. Check in and check out happens through the phone as well as unlocking the doors. It’s very clean and looks modern. Overall, the hotel is really convenient.
It’s not the first time I’m staying and the only two downsides are : very uncomfortable mattresses, which are kind of like hammock because of how soft they are, especially the middle part, which makes it extremely uncomfortable at night.
And the second is the fact that the towels don’t smell fresh and really smell like humidity. Makes you really not want to use them. And I thought it was only this one time., but then I came back a month later and the towels had the same smell.
- Gloria (2/5): - The images shown of the lobby on Expedia are not an accurate depiction. We rode the elevator up to our floor and when it opened the hallway was pitch black and the lights only came on once we stepped out. The same happened when we exited our room; the hallway was pitch black and felt very unsafe. The stairwell did not have any lights at all, only a small amount of sunlight came in from the windows. There was laundry hanging over the stairwell bannisters and tons of clutter crowded the hallways. On the way to our room we passed by one room that was being cleaned but the manservant was sitting back in the chair playing on his phone with his feet up. The entire establishment felt very unprofessional and overall unsafe. So unsafe that we left within 40 minutes of our arrival and did not return; We found other accommodations elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Modern but in the old town - My room was modern with the most comfortable cloud of a bed. It was pretty quiet even tho I was warned that there could be a lot of street noise. Only issue was that there was no bedside table for charging phones etc
- Mary (10/5): - Was so easy
- Nicola (8/5): - The hotel is walking distance from the train station, Englischer Garten, Viktualienmarkt,
St. Peter's Church and Ocktoberfest. It's such a great location.
I stayed in the apartment with 4 friends. The beds were comfortable, the shower was good and the living area was a perfect waiting area for friends to get ready. This hotel is a perfect base to sleep whilst exploring Munich.
- Kurt (8/5): - We had plans fall through and needed a place for one night in Munich. The rooms are tiny as you would expect with the title boutique hotel. I wouldn't spend a week here but if you need a place to crash for a night or two this place will do.
- JASON (10/5): - Very nice. Great location and walkable to many restaurants.
- Nathan (10/5): - I have stayed here multiple times. Super cute and comfortable rooms. Easy check-in/out process. Would stay here again
- Verified traveler (10/5): cute - The hotel is in a great location. Easy access to everything but on a very quiet street. The rooms are very small which is fine for a single traveler on couple with very little luggage. We have been traveling for a month and each have a suitcase and large carryon, it was really tight. The hotel is cute and they have done an amazing job with the space.
- Rafael (10/5): - Great location. Nano helped us out and was very friendly.
- Andrea (10/5): - Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Very friendly. The room is tiny but to be expected in downtown Germany. The location cannot be beat!
- Elizabeth (8/5): - The property was fine, but looked a little nicer in the photos than it was in person. The A/C is limited to the living room and does not reach the bedrooms, and no fans provided, so it was a bit warm. The parking is a hike and the bedrooms are quite small. You need to climb narrow, curving stairs to get from third floor to fifth which was tricky with a suitcase. Staff was very helpful and a small kettle and fridge were provided. Overall, we thought it was nice but for the price expected a bit better accomodation.
- Lyle (10/5): - Great location and friendly staff!
- Larry (10/5): - Small room. Very clean and modern. Staff very friendly and considerate. Short distances to major attractions
- seakeer (2/5): In 2019 used filthy towels might be better by now will not go back - For some reason, I was asked to rate this boutique hotel again I do not know why and I could not put in the proper date. It was September 2019. If you can see my past review the room was just OK. The bathroom was dirty the towels that I wiped my body down with had toothpaste and pubic hair, and it wasn’t my toothpaste or my hair it was disgusting. I went downstairs. Ask them for new towels explained it to them nicely. They gave me new towels. They were filthy and smelly as well. We had to leave the hotel and find somewhere else to stay, they did not reimburse us. I do not recommend the place unless things have changed by now, please be cautious
- DREW (10/5): - Very clean nice small hotel. A great hotel for someone who doesn’t need all the services of a big hotel. I liked the check in process using my phone
- Austin (4/5): - The property does not have staff 24x7, we were locked out of our room late one night and they did not answer the phone and their emergency number did not work, when called it just hung up. Overall not a bad place, but due to the lack of 24x7 front desk coverage I would not encourage you to stay here. Further, in the apartment we stayed in the HVAC was only in one room (not a bedroom) the other three rooms were very hot. Rent at your own risk.
- Kazuko (8/5): Good Location - Close to the center of Munich, safe environment and friendly staff.
However, using the shower room, with its open door and slippery floor, was difficult.
- D (10/5): - Great location!
- LynneR80 (10/5): Great bed, great location - Very comfortable bed and friendly staff, great location. A short walk to Marienplatz which is pretty central & accessible by tram/underground. Nano at the front desk was so helpful and was kind enough to stay later than normal just to be able to assist us.the bathroom is a bit of a strange layout and the room itself was small but that is the style in Europe. There is a fridge in the room and AC.
- Grant (10/5): - Perfect location for the Old Town
- Tom (6/5): - Good staff attendant, he was friendly. However, the property and rooms are tiny, almost claustrophobic.
- melaniemP5183DC (10/5): Gem of a hotel in the heart of the city. - Fabulous hotel in the heart of the city. Great for exploring all the key sights. Also good for transport links. Direct Sbahn to the airport. Lovely extras like kettle in the room, mini fridge, toiletries etc. I love the digital app to check in, out and to open doors, although you can print room keys if you wish with the added bonus of free WiFi and being able to cast from my phone to the TV. Best feature by far was the comfort of the beds, for that alone I will be back. The rooms aren't big so perhaps not great if you have large luggage but absolutely ideal for a weekend break.
- JO ANNE (2/5): - Checked in a left shortly after that. I would not recommend it to anyone.
- Courtney (10/5): Small and cozy - Our stay was great! Room was small and cozy and just what we needed. Would definitely stay here again.
- Damon (8/5): Great Hotel Location for Munich - OK, great hotel as far as location. Very close to Hofbrahaus, lots of shopping and all the sites you want to see. It is a small hotel and the rooms are pretty small; but, that is Europe right. No coffee machine in the room which was kind of a drag but they have a machine (pay) in the lobby. The rooms were pretty modern and clean.
- Sean (8/5): Small but worth it - Small room but very economical. Close to all the action.
- Gary (8/5): - Nice property. Rooms are small but common in the EU. Great location for dining, bars and shopping.
- James (8/5): - would highly recommend doing all online registration before arriving at hotel- there is a self check in and doing this will expedite the process. excellent location near marienplatz, perfect hotel if you only need a clean, well appointed room for your stay- self service style.
- Shawn (10/5): - Great location.
- Gail (10/5): - Wonderful location! Very friendly staff who were very helpful. Rooms are small, but we were aware of that from reading the reviews. We would stay there again.
- Sevada (10/5): - Great location
- Dolores (10/5): a nice overnight stay ,great location - Our host is a lovely man, very nice. Cleaning staff are so pleasant. Nice, room, lobby area. However we did have a problem. we were in bed, fire alarm in room went off, very scary, I had to climb on a chair & use a show horn to turn it off. It went off a few times in am. Lucky, lovely cleaning lady came to our rescue & removed the cap on it. Otherwise no complaints or issues
- Andrew (8/5): - Great location and staff. Had an issue with the door access app which was resolved remotely in 10 mins. Good value for the centre of the city.
- Maureen (10/5): - Great little hotel super location staff helpful and friendly
- Virginia (10/5): - Cozy and lots of amenities in the room.
- James (10/5): - Nice little hotel in very convenient location. Staff was very accommodating, especially when dealing with botched payment from Expedia.
- Jeremy (10/5): - Very central spot. Impeccably clean. Room is small/cozy but exceeded my expectations. Nice little touches with free coffee, tea and small snack items. Check in/out was no problem. I enjoyed my stay!
- Francisco (10/5): Nice Hotel!!!! - Great place, very well located and very clean, we’ll be back for sure!!!!
- Logan (10/5): - Great location for the price! Rooms were a bit small but very cozy! Would stay again!
- Cheryl E. (10/5): - An easy walk to the Marienplatz and the Hoffbrau Haus
- Julia (10/5): - A nice hotel centrally located.
- ALEJANDRO (10/5): alcapp - We had an amazing stay in the hotel. The room was clean and very cozy. The hotel is very close to everything .
- Khaled (8/5): - Recommended
- Mark (10/5): - Loved the location! Walking distance to city center, restaurants, train station.
- Laura (10/5): - Great location, clean room, plenty of space, good showers
- Robert (10/5): - Perfect location and the staff was accommodating. Only 1 block from the Hofbrau's house. Highly recommend this property.
- BABAR (10/5): - Great location. We wanted to walk everywhere in the city center, which was easily doable. We had the apartment on the 5th floor with 3 bedrooms. It also had a small outdoor patio, which was nice but it was 90 degrees. The AC is in the living room so the bedrooms can get warm but we managed (we were there in August). The recommended parking by the hotel had ample spots and was a quick 10 minute walk away. Please note that there are no keys and everything is done through your phone. You can ask for a key card but we were able to use our phone to access the building and room. Also note that the elevator does not reach the 5th floor. For the apartment, you will need to get off on the 3rd floor and take stairs to the 5th floor. We were able to manage our luggage but it may be an issue for anyone with limited mobility. There was staff there during the day but not at night. Overall, we really liked it and would stay again.
- stephen (10/5): - Outstanding hotel. Great location - 2 minutes from Tram, a couple of blocks from the Hoffbrau House as well as the town square. Rooms are small, but very well equipped with thoughtful little touches such as mini fridge, free bottle of water, and very comfortable beds.
- George (10/5): - Great location! Room was great for our needs. Appreciated the mini-fridge and coffee/tea pot. Would stay again at the hotel
- Jessica (10/5): Excellent Hidden Gem! - Amazing hotel! I cannot recommend this hidden gem enough. Staff were friendly and responsive. Rooms had details that made the room beautiful. Beds were the best we’ve experienced our entire trip - leaving us to stay an entire day sleeping! Window opened to a quaint courtyard, with a nice breeze. Checkin was initially a bit confusing, but easy with guidance. Location was absolutely perfect, and very safe.
- Dennis (10/5): - Our room was small but the bed was absolutely amazing and comfortable. Easily the best bed we stayed in during our 14 day/ 6 hotel trip. The location is great, Hofbrauhaus is literally around the block and Marienplatz is just a couple minutes away. It's about a 5 minute walk to the Hofbrauhaus Parkhaus and easy to navigate. There are tons of dining options around the area. Don't overlook this little boutique hotel!
- RODOLFO (10/5): - The location is the best, you can walk to all the locations. The rooms are small, but well done and the bathrooms are clean and convenient.
As expected, AC is not provided in April
- Philip (8/5): - English translation of “Boutique “ is SMALL. While it was clean and the bed was soft, 2 people could not move around at the same time. One had to get on the bed or stand in the bathroom. Otherwise it was nice and clean.
Location was outstanding as we walked everywhere and arrived within minutes to the HofbrauHaus and Marienplatz.
Great place to store your luggage, shower, and sleep.
- John (6/5): Great location small rooms - Great location. Very small rooms. Only one English speaking channel on the TV. Few services as this style of boutique hotel is designed for self service. Bed was comfortable. Shower curtain is too short.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Pricey but well located - Pros: Very good location, comfy bed
Cons: small room, no real coffee (instant) or black tea. No free water, no tissues in the bathroom, impossible to take a shower without water going everywhere, noisy aircon ventilators in the courtyard.
All together too expensive for what it offers but Munich is overpriced for hotels anyway.
- Eric (10/5): - Wonderful staff and excellent location. The tiny room was clean and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent Value for Money - Excellent value for money. Great location.
- Alex (10/5): - Great location and fantastic beds! They were extremely comfortable :) staff were very friendly and the electronic check in process makes things very easy
- Karen (10/5): - Great place to stay, central to everything, very clean and private. Would've liked a small microwave to go with mini fridge and water kettle. But over all, outstanding place to stay!
- Elodie (8/5): - Great place to stay in old town. I was traveling solo for a US Consulate appointment and was a great location to walk to (without a phone) while also being close to sights like market etc. Area is noisy (even mid-week) and the room can get a little warm (a Fan would be great!) but I didn't find it too bad though even at the end of August. Heads up from subway at Marienplatz there are a lot of cobble stone streets so while very walkable from the station - you may want to plot your walk accordingly with luggage (just gets a tad noisy). Keypad to hotel helped make the space feel safe (especially for solo female traveller) at night but area has a lot of people around - in a good way.
- Avery (10/5): - Great location. Perfect for my three day solo trip to Munich!!
- Andrew (6/5): - Great location and has Air Conditioning, sort of. AC turns off at 9pm and on sometime after 10am. Hot nights sweating on top of covers.
Apartment is 3 BR but very small BRs. Patio is tiny but nice place to cool off in the middle of the night. Hard to get to this room, take tiny elevator to 4th floor, the stairs down, then stairs up… with luggage is very annoying.
Staff is very nice. Place was clean. Basically no amenities just an apartment.
