The rooms are a little tired, but not as dirty as some suggest. The bathrooms do have a bleach smell - but they are spotless.

Most of the receptionists were helpful. The bedrooms were comfortable. One of the receptionists didn’t appear to be at all interested in her job. She kept going outside to smoke. The bar wasn’t a particularly welcoming space.

We wanted to take a boat taxi on the morning of our departure and asked in the reception if they could call one for us and she literally said ''no you cant get one'' so we asked where can we grab one and she said down at the waterbusses, it was 8 morning and when we came down to the canal we could ask 5 taxies that were waiting - no problem.

Alla colazione manca un pattumierino sui tavoli, per un 4* su Booking, ( sul loro sito dice 3*)è il minimo non vedere tutto sparpagliato sui tavoli

• Helen (4/5): It’s all about the location! - Location Hotel in urgent need of updating - bedding, carpets stained and furniture broken. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room and no water which for a “four star” hotel is unacceptable. Bed too hard for my liking and hotel very noisy. The location is the main attraction of staying here and fortunately I didn’t need to stay in the room during the day.

L'hotel è a 30 secondi di camminata dalla fermata del vaporetto, in 1 minuto a piedi c'è Piazza San Marco. Camera spaziosa e pulita. Di notte la zona essendo sede delle grandi boutique del lusso è silenziosa. La doccia del bagno era un po scassata, le ante in vetro sono scollate dal pavimento, e l'acqua non scorre bene giù. Non ci sono le ciabatte di servizio in camera né una bottiglia d'acqua di cortesia, cosa che mi aspetterei da un 4 stelle. La colazione può esser migliorata, servendo caffè e cappuccino da macchina professionale dallo staff, non con quella fai da te, e ampliando la selezione del salato.

Pied à terre idéal à Venise. L'ensemble du personnel parle anglais et français. Aucun désagrément vécu. Le personnel est toujours là pour répondre à nos sollicitations.

• christine (8/5): Lovely Hotel - Superb location. Very helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Comfortable room. Will definitely stay her again. Not a deal breaker, but there was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room (as advertised ). However, hotel water was available by asking reception staff.

We asked the help and they procrastinating and helping with the air-conditioning by the time they did anything about it we were on our way out.

• Diana (5/5): Hotel mit außerordentlich guter Lage. - Außerordentlich gute Lage am Marcusplatz, Das Frühstück war gut. Das Personal war freundlich. Wir hatten ein "Superior Double or Twin Room" (17 qm, Klimaanlage, extra lange Betten, Schreibtisch, Sofa) gebucht. Leider haben wir das Zimmer 228 (sehr klein, ohne Klimaanlage, ohne Schreibtisch, ohne Sofa) erhalten. Die Temperatur im Zimmer war 23 Grad, zum Schlafen zu warm, aber die Klimaanlage war nicht anstellbar. Die Fenster konnten wir zwar öffnen, wurden dann aber von Mücken überfallen und es war auch sehr laut. Die Einrichtung war zwar sehr geschmackvoll, aber der Teppich bedarf dringend einer Reinigung. Auch das WC müsste dringend gereinigt oder ausgetauscht werden.

• Lorenzo (3/5): Da non tornarci mai più - L'unica nota positiva è la posizione dell'Hotel ed il Signore alla reception che è stato molto gentile e professionale, al contrario dei suoi colleghi La camera (nonostante l'upgrade) era piccola, ma soprattutto vecchia. C'era la moquette sul pavimento macchiata dalla candegina, le tende oscuranti era piene di polvere, le pareti ricoperte di stoffa gialla decorata era vetuste e strappate (nella parte dietro la scrivania era completamente divelta e si vedeva la macchia nera dello strappo), in corrispondenza della scrivania c'erano dei buchi segno che un tempo vi era affissa la televisione. Il tubo della doccia in bagno era arrugginito come anche il ripiano dove vengono riposti i prodotti per la doccia. L'asta dove si appende il tubo della doccia non era ben fissato e si vedeva l'interno del muro. I letti erano scomodi come parimenti lo erano i cuscini. La colazione di scarsissima qualità sia per quanto riguarda il caffè che il buffet.
• angelasG7160KE (10/5): Christmas Class at the Casanova - “Lovely Christmas stay at the Casanova”this is a beautiful small boutique hotel ,the location is amazing,it is next door to piazza san marco , the staff are lovely ,all the ladies fosca with the beautiful black hair & the other 2 ladies in reception are so nice helpful & friendly & remembered me which was a nice touch , & the male staff are friendly helpful welcoming & helpful,Luca & the other gentleman , & the night Porter where very friendly & helpful with my wheelchair,as iam a disabled female in a motorized wheelchair, they were amazing , any problems were quickly sorted,there is a side fire entrance that your wheelchair can fit through,my motorized wheelchair had to be folded to fit into the lift but the staff were there to help me, also the breakfast staff were lovely & helpful ,moving chairs to fit my wheelchair at the breakfast table & bringing my food to me & being friendly & chatting, the disabled accessible rooms are excellent, lovely Venetian decor fabric flocked walls beautiful chandeliers,accessible bathroom with wheelchair accessible shower ,a seat & low toilet with hand rails ,, I have been staying at this hotel for 3 years , I have stayed at the big luxury hotels next door & double the price ,the “Monaco & grand canal, “the Gritti palace “on the grand canal & “the luna baglioni “ on the next street , but if you can’t do the big money hotels ,then the Casanova is excellent ,if you want a real Venetian experience the Casanova is it,to all staff “Grazie Millie con tango amore Angelina x”
