Guest Reviews
- ktrtontour (10/5): Relaxing, quiet, good location - This was the last hotel of our tour and we opted to stay for two extra nights. We stayed in the block behind the pool on the top floor (they will take your bag up and bring it down for you too if you phone down to reception). Huge room with a comfortable double bed, dressing table, wardrobe. There was a kettle which we didn't use and a fridge. Bathroom was a good size with a shower (the head needed a little encouragement to stay in place when shower on!) with plenty of hot water. The room was really clean. There was a door onto a balcony which is shared with all the rooms but they have put screens in between them to give a little privacy. Chairs and tables and a view over the pool. You can lock the door so safe enough. Pool area clean and tidy and not fight for a sunbed over the New Year period we were there. Included breakfast is filling, with choice of eggs and drink. had lunch in the restaurant one day too which seemed good value. The hotel is in an excellent location in Sanur, off the main strip so really quiet and there are beautiful gardens. Slept well here and it was peaceful and quiet. You do have to walk down two back streets and they were a bit smelly when we were here because there seemed to be an issue with drains over flowing, but that is not the fault of the hotel! And yes there are mozzies but again not the fault of the hotel; someone recommended some coils which seemed to do the trick! Reception very helpful; we wanted to do washing, they were going to take two days to do it and when we expressed surprise they pointed out the place just opposite the entrance who did it within 24 hours! They were also helpful in letting us arrange a late check out (obviously paid for). Best way to get to the beach is through the mall (turn left at the main strip) as the fancy hotels block the entrance to the beach all along the strip. You are within a short walking distance of loads of bars, restaurants and shops. Sanur was not the best place we stayed in Bali but Bumi Bungalows was a relaxing, calm place to enjoy our last few nights in Bali, including NYE (main action is fireworks on the beach, no problem getting a table for dinner on the main strip first). Only slight concern was the main door to our room felt very flimsy, but given the location it didn't seem to be a big issue. Can't fault what they are offering.
- bettybo222 (4/5): Budget in Sanur - Positives - not noisy
Great bfast
Helpful staff
Air con
Negatives
Mosquitoes so many in our room
Mattress thin and old
Pillows flat and old
Towels old and stained
Didn’t sleep as air con behind wall from beds and mosquito nets made it hot
Unkempt pool and gardens
Wouldn’t go back…
- LBU4174CX (10/5): Tranqual beautiful hotel - Returned to stay in this beautiful tranquil hotel after 18 years & found it to be as perfect as it was then. Set in a garden oasis in a quite off road of Sanur. Close to the beach, shops, bars & restaurants. The staff could not be more welcoming. I highly recommend booking Yanne the hotels lovely taxi driver who took us out for a full day to markets, rice fields. Ubuds; temple, butterfly 🦋 sanctuary monkey forest & waterfall.
- karinlD6008KT (8/5): Very nice hotel. - Off road a fair way. Down a Laneway.
3% service charge on arrival for using card to pay.
Beautiful room upstairs overlooking pool but unable to climb steep stairs. Hotel changed on request.
Four days here. Nice enough pool area, very clean. Great choice and food for breakfast.
Evening meal from as little as $5.00.
Good value for money.
I enjoyed my stay, room was lovely near to pool. Hotel fairly full but quiet at night.
Helpfully staff, a pleasant stay.
Nothing spectacular!.
- Marsha (8/5): - This place was SO AUTHENTIC! If you want a real old beautiful place at an amazing price this is the place. It’s very old but clean, air conditioned, quiet and beautiful. We walked out for breakfast to one of the little places down the street ( also had a reasonable and delicious dinner at Oliver’s) we were told we could dip in the pool till later at night if we were quiet which is just what we wanted. We’ll stay there again. Grab taxis had no trouble finding it
- michaelkU1475AW (10/5): Affordable, quiet, intimate lodging a short walk from the beach - We've stayed here twice, and will be back again. It's a family-run collection of two- and one-story bungalows, set around gardens and a swimming pool. It's on the opposite side of Sanur's main street from the beach, up a quiet road. So it's insulated from beach resorts' party noise, frenzy, and costs. Onsite breakfasts are tasty, and there are some excellent restaurants and warungs nearby on the road around the corner. And around the next corner onto the main street (Jalan Danau Tamblingan) are some of Sanur's most interesting restaurants and bars. (Like Casalanca, where you can hear adorable Balinese bands play Western rock and pop styles.) In our experience, whenever there's a problem (like guests who thought they still had our reserved room for an extra day), Wayan and her staff cheerfully and graciously work it out. No complaints about the facilities, and the super deluxe rooms are colonial palatial. Nice place.!
- Viviana (10/5): - Such a beautiful place! Wonderful gardens, great rooms, nice decorations and good beds and lovely pool. I would go back again for sure!
- Jodie (8/5): - Amazing pool area. Great location in Sanur, down the lane opposite Starbucks. Room was nice and private, and check in/check out was hassle free and fast.
Breakfast was simple but nice.
Overall good for price and would stay again.
- RoslynC711 (10/5): Peaceful - I was upgraded to a super deluxe room fairly close to the pool. The bungalow was very nice except I could hear the people in the next room to me. The walls were very thin. The pool was nice and there were plenty of comfy sun lounges. Breakfast was satisfactory. The wifi was pretty much non existent.,
- Viviana (10/5): A beautiful place - Great garden, great rooms, lovely pool. The best I have stayed in Bali.
- Erik Wagner (10/5): - Bali bagus
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff were quick to change room when needed.
Standard rooms tired looking but deluxe great.
Taxi easy to arrange but definitely not 17 minutes from airport. Give yourself an hour.
- U4463TYshannons (8/5): solo trip - Traditional Bali Hotel, located a short walk from the main street of Sanur.
There are awesome places to eat in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
The staff were lovely and accommodating. Breakfast was simple but sufficient.
Rooms are clean, but they are tired, and sheets need replacing. Bed was firm, but I prefer that. The air-conditioning was very good.
The pool is clean, and there were plenty of seating/sunbeds around it. There were numerous loose tiles around the pool, so care is needed, especially when it is raining.
My main negative is the towels. They are well past their used by date, so thin and grey.
- vanessatY4484OD (6/5): Located well, lovely gardens, but time to look elsewhere for us. - This was our second stay. We love the location, an easy stroll to the main road or walk through the gangs to the night market. Close enough to the beach and beach path if you walk through Icon or a hotel. Lovely pool area and gardens, plenty of pool lounges. Staff are friendly. Didn’t use the restaurant so can’t comment on that.
We had a superior room this time. Our extended family all had our rooms in a row which was convenient. Lovely verandah and tropical gardens. The rooms are large, as is the bathroom. However, the rooms could really do with a renovation. The bathrooms were horrible, towels thin, grey and smelly. The bathroom felt dirty, was rust, mouldy and felt horrible to use. The beds were hard, pillows need to be thrown in the bin, sheets were stained and grey. The blankets were smelly. While the room wasn’t too expensive I feel there would have to be better at this price point. I will be looking elsewhere next time.
- galihapputraa (10/5): Pleasant and Peaceful Stay at Bumi Ayu Bungalow - My group and I were happy with our stay at Bumi Ayu Bungalow. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-ventilated, with comfortable beds that made for a restful night’s sleep. We also appreciated the traditional Balinese design and the overall charm of the property.
The location is strategic—tucked away in a quiet area, yet still within walking distance to plenty of restaurants, shops, and the beach. It offered the perfect balance between relaxation and convenience.
The staff were friendly and quick to respond to our needs, which helped make our stay even smoother. Although some members of our group had to leave early due to flight schedules, the overall experience was very positive.
In short, Bumi Ayu Bungalow provided a peaceful and pleasant retreat, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
- nikkiinSA (8/5): Conveniently located 2 blocks back from main Sanur beach, 5 minutes walk from the mall. - Not the most fantastic hotel, but good value. Sizable rooms, comfortable, and clean, service is friendly. Large pool, good included served breakfast. No bells and whistles, but no red flags either. Conveniently located with easy walk to loads of restaurants, night life, spas, and the big mall, and beach.
- Rachael Renee (8/5): - The place was fantastic except for the cleanliness it could of been better. Its in desperate need if a paint and for gods sake get decent floor mats they were hideous... the pool was fantastic as were the gardens but because it needs a repaint and refur bish it looks very dirty. Excellent in the middle of sanur 3 minutes stroll to the main road with all your needs... walk down to Bali Icon and through to get to the beach.... About 12 mins walk all up...
- Amanda (6/5): - The staff are lovelyincluding the cats. However the property, furniture and area around the pool could do with some updating
- Wayne (2/5): - The images of this place are terribly misleading - they do not represent reality.
Room was dismal, it was so bad we only stayed one night.
Everything about the place had a dowdy feel, the rooms, the staff, the food. It’s truly miserable in there
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- C6315AKcatherinel (10/5): Gorgeous Gardens - beautiful and relaxing stay - We stayed for 2 weeks with our young children and my husbands parents. Loved everything about it. Beautiful gardens and nice pool area with a small shallow pool for toddlers. The staff were so beautiful and kind to our kids. It was super handy being able to order from the on site restaurant after a big day out of adventures. It was great having the Turtle and fish pond next to the restaurant to keep the kids occupied while we waited or finished our meals. Easy walk to Sanur markets and beach (would recommend families bring or hire a pram if staying here). Such a beautiful and relaxing stay, highly recommend.
- Lisa (10/5): - Convenient location once you get there. Cute property. Large pool. Spacious rooms.
- Hayden (8/5): - Good place to stay. Nice gardens, relaxing pool, lovely staff, traditional rooms, nice kitty to come visit and say hello. Would def stay here again. Thanks to staff onsite for a nice experience.
- Caroline (10/5): - Stayed in the deluxe room. Spacious room with views of the garden. Enjoyed my 4 night stay.
A few mins walk to restaurants and warungs.
- TN007 (10/5): Great stay - I had heard lots of great reports of this hotel and it certainly lived up to the expectations.
We had a triple room (Queen + king single). The beds were very firm and had mosquito nets but we did not need to use them. Our room had excellent airconditioning, a small bar fridge, and filtered water was supplied to the room in a jug. You could refill bottles at the restaurant or reception to reduce single use plastic bottles. We had breakfast included in our rate and the food was good quality.
There is one large pool divided into three sections, plus a cold spa pool. There are steps and ladders to make easy access to the pools. They also have a happy hour each afternoon at the pool bar.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a shop across the street that hires bikes for 50K/day, and does laundry for 20K/kg.
- 227stuartt (10/5): Fantastic couples retreat - Third time here.
I love it.
Yes it has more of a “retirement village” feel which is what we like.
Quiet relaxed atmosphere, beautiful gardens and really nice people.
The staff are always welcoming and friendly.
Rooms are cleaned serviced every day.
- Kirsty (10/5): - Excellent place of you just want to relax with couple drinks outside of your room and not party .. I be staying here again
- Trilby (8/5): - Older style big room Huge bed
Good air con
Nice pool
Great massage
Quiet position we like to walk so don’t care how far things are.
Would stay again
- bigwideworldoutthere (6/5): Sanur stay...can get better elsewhere - Very dated ...great for older couples...not great for families...wifi did not work at all...very frustrating...and other guests complained also..lots of mosquitos...better value elsewhere.. breakfast service was appalling...over an hour and mixed up...pool was ok...but with young kids or ideal.
- Michel (10/5): - Nice and quiet. Great pool and amazing breakfast. Staff super friendly and reasonable priced
- Rosalie (8/5): - The property is in a great location just of the main road. Lovely big clean rooms with walk in showers. Nice big pool. Onsite restaurant, nice breakfast options. Only downside thst when it rains, the lane way gets flooded. We would definitely stay there again in the dry season. Lot of Warung Restaurant and bars. Only a 10 min walk to the beach and the new Icon shopping centrr
- Patrina (10/5): - Great location ,large room & fantastic pool .
The only thing I didn’t like was the bed was a bit hard & the pillows were rather lumpy other than that I loved the place
- Alicia (10/5): - One of my favorite place so far in Bali, I had travel through Sulawesi, some part of Maluku this trip, and I have been to Lombok and Labuang Bajo, Java in the past, this place is secluded own paradise, inside the alley way, it has beautiful lushes garden and lovely pool, I had a gorgeous spacious deluxe room, and so quite at night, but this is in center of Sanur, so close to everything, beach, restaurants, shops, airport, ferry, the staff they know how to take care all the guest. Highly recommended.
- Dean (8/5): - The Hotel staff were wonderful. The beer and food was very well priced . The room was dated but was fine for us. Due to heavy rain the lane to the hotel flooded a lot and made access on foot different. Overall we would stay here again.
- jackit176 (10/5): Sad to leave! - Very comfortable room with great hot water! Staff are wonderful and really made our stay memorable.
Perfect location for restaurants and beach and laundry services.
Pool area is excellent.
Only problem was drainage down the road ...but it was wet season!!!
- Rebecca (8/5): - Good location, lovely staff, good value for money!
- Deirdre (8/5): - I needed one night. This was a perfect distance from Denpasar airport and totally peaceful.
- Marcos (10/5): - Great stay and super-friendly staff! Pool was really awesome and relaxing. Cheers!
- Mr m w (10/5): We love Bumi Ayu - We love staying here such a quaint tradition small hotel with very nice people
- Alison (10/5): - Felt like home. Warm, welcoming staff. Tranquil retreat, close to everything. Mature gardens, spacious rooms. Little piece of paradise. A little bit worn around the edges but value for money and will definitely be back.
- jasonsU6794NE (10/5): Great place to stay - We have just come back from 7 nights staying in a Deluxe room , I would highly recommend this place, Super friendly staff, rooms really nice and spacious and clean serviced every day. We had included breakfast which was great. Pool is really big and clean like most it is not cool more tempered but still very refreshing. Its close to the main street and beach and is very quiet at night there are plenty of places to eat and drink and shop really close.
- Stephen (8/5): - Good value older 3-star hotel, decent breakfast options, good location with 5-10 minutes walk to restaurants, spas, shops. Pool towels need to be renewed. Never had a problem getting a sun lounger. Very helpful and friendly staff.
- frances (10/5): - Staff very friendly and surrounded gardens beautiful and well kept
- Robyn (10/5): - Great property for our stay in Sanur. Good location for dining, beach walk not too far away. Lovely peaceful setting. Great pool.
- tina (6/5): - Pool is nice but have to go to reception to get towels. Lovely breakfast.
Would have preferred a ground floor room.
- Z1104BDrobynh (10/5): Lovely Resort - My husband and I had 7 nights at Bumi Ayu Bungalows and loved every minute. Check in was quick, we were given a free up grade from a Deluxe to a super Deluxe (difference is walk in shower). Our room was a couple of steps from the pool, absolutely amazing. The room was very spacious, bed was very comfortable as well as pillows were soft. Bathroom was huge, lovely big shower and sink area. Verandah was lovely to sit on and read and very private. Pool was warm but I enjoy a warm pool, always plenty of sun lounges morning and afternoon. Breakfast was a set menu of 3 choices, American breakfast, continental and Indonesian. All were great and plenty enough to set you up for the day. The gardens are beautiful as well as ponds all around the resort with fish and turtles. Staff always talk to you and are very friendly and helpful. Location is great, close to everything. We will definitely be back to stay again at Bumi Ayu Bungalows
- keith (10/5): - As usual, a wonderful stay at Bumi Ayu. The only criticism I have is the wifi was intermittent and slow.
- Peter (6/5): - It was ok for the price, you pay for what you get.
- amandad179 (10/5): Lovely place! - This was the first hotel we stayed at during our trip of Bali and Lombok, and it was fabulous. The rooms are large, very clean, and the bed was really comfortable. Great location, lovely staff and great pool. We loved this place. It’s really near to all the shops, bars and restaurants of Sanur.
- thetimemachine (10/5): So relaxing and so happy that I wept with joy - I visited Bali for the first time as a seasoned solo traveller and when I stayed at the Bumi Ayu Bungalows, I wept a few tears of joy because I was so happy to be in peace and quiet, and also to be relaxing.
But first, let me explain why I was so happy.
When I first arrived in Bali, I stayed in Legian. I have travelled to countries with lots of chaos and noise like India, and so the streets of Legian did not bother me at all. But I did find the noise around my Legian hotel a big problem because there were constant beer buses driving past (playing loud music); the hotel pool bars also played loud music; and at night the motorbikes would drive fast because there was less traffic and the motorbike exhausts would be really loud and would wake you up when you were sleeping. I found it very hard to relax in the hotel room, and very hard to sleep at night so I left that hotel and Legian earlier than planned.
I went to Sanur and checked into Bumi Ayu instead.
Bumi Ayu is surrounded by lush trees and bushes in an intimate environment.
I booked a deluxe bungalow and found the bungalow clean, spacious and well-appointed with lots of natural light.
The bungalow has lots of furniture for you to place your luggage on personal effects on effects. Power plugs were in the right place, and there was one plug next to the bed so that you can power your phone. The bed came with a mosquito net, and the room also had a lockable wardrobe for additional security. Air con worked really well and filtered water is provided daily.
My bungalow was away from the pool and was incredibly quiet. I was surprised by how little I heard while I was in the bungalow. There was no loud music around the pool area and guests were really quiet around the pool
I found other guests very quiet as they walked around the bungalow area and even when having a beer by the pool e.g. quietly reading a book. I really loved that sense of peace and quiet.
The free breakfast was orderable and I simply ate some bacon and eggs in the morning.
I found all of the staff to be warm, friendly and accommodating.
I went from the hotel to the airport and it only took me about 40 minutes in the early morning. I also went from Sanur to Seminyak during peak hour and it took me about 60 minutes but you sit in an airconditioned car and only costs about $13 AUD.
I would definitely stay here again. As I said earlier, I wept with tears of joy because I was so relaxed.
- marilyncG8301JV (10/5): Fabulous stay at Bumi Ayu. - We have just stayed at Bumi Ayu Bungalows.
Amazing place to stay. We did 10 days and it is perfect for us.
Has a superior room right next to the fabulous swimming pool.
Room was cleaned everyday. The restaurant was lovely and good food. Breakfast was good.
The staff all of them were so helpful and absolutely beautiful and very friendly.
We had NO complaints what so ever.
However if you want 5 star you pay for it.
Missing them all. Only returned home the 17th.:)
- luke (8/5): - Nice place to stay , quiet area and plenty off eating places near by . Beach is about a 15 min walk away
Are room was good and had everything we needed
Only downside was the people next to us where chain smokers (did not stop) so we could not sit outside are room or by the pool where they sat
Also it says do not reserve pool sun beds but they start having towels on them by 8am and people don’t come to use them till after 11
So you have to do the same or you won’t get a sun bed in the shade .
- Peter (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful gardens and pool. On the doorstep for eating and shopping. Transport easy to arrange.
- RenataT605 (10/5): DELIGHTFUL HOTEL - A delightful hotel with a great price and very good facilities. I stayed in a room near the pool. Spacious and charming. Comfortable bed and very good bathroom. The swimming pool is a plus, large and a pleasant place to rest. Very picturesque well-kept garden. The breakfast was also very good with several options to choose from. Very attentive and kind staff. Very good location, just a block from restaurants and shops and close to the beach. Definitely recommend. Excellent value for money!
- Glenis (8/5): - The staff are very good and accommodating. Location is very convenient with easy access to cafes and restaurants. A very peaceful and relaxed setting.
- paloma057 (10/5): Friendly Staff and Tranquil setting - This is a small hotel tucked away in Sanur. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious . The rooms are large and very clean. It is only a few minutes walk to the new Bali Icon Shopping Centre. It is a perfect hotel for couples .
- Stephen (8/5): - This is a small hotel a 5-minute walk from the main high street, is peaceful and has a nice pool. There were always enough sun loungers for those who wanted them during the nine days we spent there. Basic but adequate breakfast options - not for those expecting the huge buffet offered by the higher-priced hotels in Sanur. The rooms and facilities are what you would expect for a 3-star hotel. We would stay again and would certainly recommend Bumi Ayu Bungalows.
- DIKA999BALIDRIVER (8/5): Bumi ayu bongalow at sanur - This is a good accommodation, the swimming pool is big and the rooms are clean too. far from the crowds. If you want to go to the beach it takes 10/15 minutes to walk, and if you want to go out at night to find something to eat, it's not very far because outside the hotel there are lots of small shops, so we are very happy to be able to stay here... thank you 🙏
- Leon (8/5): - Quiet location , easy access to main street. Friendly staff.
- trudiDarwin (10/5): Our home away from home. 💜 - We have been visiting Bumi since 2019.
It’s our “home” base in Bali. 💜
Price is excellent for the style.
Staff are exceptional. 💚💚💚
Pool is always good and has excellent access for elderly or those with disabilities.
Grounds are beautiful. Paradise in Sanur.
Secure.
Aircon works beautifully.
Food at resto is excellent.
Thank you Artha and Bumi family. ♥️
- lesleymG6422MY (6/5): One night stay - We were booked for 7 nights but left after one night. Not totally the hotel's fault. I had bronchitis and couldn't tolerate the amount of smokers at the hotel. Lovely gardens. Comfortable clean room. No safe. Great pool but very difficult to get out of if you have a disability or are older. I'd still be there if a guest and staff member hadn't helped me. Breakfast was nice. Dinner consisted of the strangest Spaghetti Bolognese we'd ever eaten. Sweet and inedible.
Lovely staff. The hotel wifi was pretty unreliable. Would I go back? No (for personal reasons) but it's very popular as it's excellent value for money.
- Shane Douglas (10/5): - We have stayed here before and this experience has just reinforced our decision to return. We were welcomed like family, treated amazingly by all staff. I had my birthday while staying here, the staff decorated the room and delivered flowers for me. It was very special! Everyone I speak to all say the same thing, the special feeling that Bumi creates for guests is just amazing.
- elizabeth (10/5): Lovely stay - Bumi Ayu bungalows are wonderful. A peace haven with great staff , lovely pool and near to the Main Street and beach. Thank you !
- cynthia (8/5): - Lovely gardens nice breakfast
- KyLee (10/5): - Very pretty and quiet property. Food service here was also great. Definitely recommend if you want a quiet, naturey stau roght in sanur.
- ryszardl_12 (8/5): Always a restful place to lay your head. - Not much has changed in the six years since I last stayed here. The room I was in (47) was much better than last time. It was upstairs and overlooked the pool. The pool itself was still as warm as I remembered, like stepping into a bath! The service from the staff was as good as always and the restaurant food was still the same excellent standard as before. The breakfast was served quickly and was delicious. The choice on the menu has improved since last time. My room was very clean and the bathroom has obviously had work done. In fact I noticed that a lot of work had been done since last time. The only criticisms I can make is that the tea and coffee offerings were inadequate: too few sachets of tea, coffee and sugar. The cups provided were quite small and there was no milk, but the local minimart was close and milk is cheap. A lack of power points is also noted.
The bed was very comfortable and the air-conditioning worked a treat! The undercover rest area near the pool, complete with library is a welcome retreat.
The Bungalows are situated close to the main street and shops but recent developments have closed off a lot of the paths that lead to the beach so you now have about a 20-minute walk to get to Sanur Beach - which is great for walking off the calories consumed at breakfast!
- Owenn (8/5): - We stayed for 7 nights beautiful gardens & pool . Ice cold air conditioning in the room. The American breakfast we paid for in the price was good too
- K9888RQgailg (8/5): Lucious gardens and clean rooms - First time here room was good staff great and the best pool very family orientated and lovely little warungs close by. Just a short walk to the main rd of sanur very affordable for singles and families. Good breakfast and they are now doing lunch and dinner. If u are on a budget this would certainly suit you
- David (8/5): - The property is in a hidden location down an alley. Property is old and in need of updating. Staff were friendly and helpful. Area was good for restaurants and shopping
- Martyn (8/5): - Lovely quiet property, still in the traditional authentic Balinese styling.
Great value for money.
- cathyo229 (10/5): love this quiet hotel - Love this Balinese traditional hotel, i think most people are over 50, the pool area, is nice and quiet, the kitchen staff are lovely, as is the boss and young girl at reception, are all very helpful. Will be back again this year. I hope one day they have a glass of wine or vodka at the pool, happy hour beer, i can't have because i have celiac disease.
- Elaine (8/5): Great little find - Very happy with our stay. We were upgraded to a super deluxe bungalow which was lovely, nice size room. Our first time staying without a safe in the room, all valuables are left in saftey deposit box at reception got used to this quickly and was very safe.
Good size pool with many sun lounges.
Restaurant in-house also close to many local warungs, about a 10 minute walk to Sanur night market. Great spot to stay will be back again. I forgot to mention the lovely gardens.
- Bridgette (10/5): - This is the place to stay if you want a quiet and very relaxing stay. The pool is exceptional! The beach is a short walk. The breakfast is the best all included breakfast we have had during our 3 months of travel. Be sure and order the wonderful fruit plate! The poolside food/lunch and beverages are good and are reasonably priced. The property foliage is very very nice and well kept up. It’s beautiful. We can’t wait to come and stay here again!!!
- Renee (8/5): - Really enjoyed our stay at Bumi Ayu. Very central and safe .
- Catherine (10/5): - We stayed here one night before heading to Gili T. Sadly Jetstar flight delayed so did not do much except sleep and eat breakfast. It was welcoming, clean and breakfast was great.
- Anthony (8/5): - Nice place to stay except for people taking over the sunbeds day after day
- samantha (10/5): - pool was amazing, with many chairs and space available to lounge. the rooms were very big, and spread apart so it felt very private, and the AC worked great. wifi was strong, and the staff was very friendly.
- Deborah (8/5): A place to Retreat and Relax - Bumi Ayu Bungalows, offers all one needs for a Retreat, a Wind-down, and for Serenity. Garden bungalows, a large pool, succulent grounds, and an ample breakfast. Cafes and restaurants close by. For recovery and re-vitalisation it is perfect. If you needed to work, you would need your own wifi! Wifi seems to be a challenge in Bali. And please upgrade the coffee at breakfast! Otherwise, a super stay.
- Sharon (10/5): - Very friendly staff, nice spacious room with good air con, a very nice big swimming pool with towels supplied plus good options for breakfast, lunch & dinner delivered to pool side or room if you prefer. Would highly recommended & will definitely be revisiting next time in Bali 😎
- Ruth (10/5): - Stayed for 8 nights and everything was excellent. Felt very safe and comfortable with an excellent feeling of independence and privacy. Very large rooms with a lovely veranda and they even provided a clothes drying rack on the veranda.
- James (10/5): - Only did one night here, but it's in a part of Sanur with lots to do. Bedroom was nice, staff was good, breakfast was tasty. Bathroom could use a little TLC (age, not cleanliness issues), but I would happily stay here again
- Susan (10/5): - A great place to stay away from the main road but close enough to walk to. A lovely swimming pool as well, and the staff are all so nice
- Carol (8/5): - Lovely place to stay in Sanur, friendly helpful staff, really enjoyed our stay here for the second time, only downside was we had lost our shortcut to the beach due to new building going up. Is a long walk to beach now.
- Sarah (8/5): - Love love love the garden
- Melanie (6/5): - Had a pretty bad experience with another quest who was bullying in the pool, not pleasant for me or my daughter still waiting for the nights to be awarded to my hotels.com account
- edward (8/5): - disappointed that the bar near the pool was not staffed on any day that I was there
- Richard (10/5): - this is a great value for money and very comfortable place to stay at. It's close to all services and walking distance to beach and suitable shops. highly recommended.
- Shane (10/5): - It was great to return to Bumi Ayu Bungalows, post covid I am happy to report that they are still as amazing, welcoming and friendly. I can truly say it is our second home and we are welcomed as family.
Each time I return im also greeted by other returning guests who like us return again and again, each building great friendships. A true gem of a property with family at its heart.
- JOHN (10/5): - Great Place. On return bucket list
- Linda (6/5): - Room furniture need some upgrading. Cupboard with locks that don't work. Bath tub though clean but has stains of dark patches around the drainage.
- Ian (8/5): - Fabulous and friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Great value for money. 10 min to beach, 3 min to shopping, 1 min to store.
- Glyn (8/5): - Not now
- Kerri (10/5): Absolutely fabulous - Fantastic family run hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Complimentary afternoon tea everyday beside the pool is absolutely delightful.
Highly recommend this hotel.
- Kiristina (10/5): - Friendly staff, great customer service, good facilities.
- judy (10/5): - This property is a beautiful place and it never changes beautiful gardens and great pool. Rooms are good size and always clean
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The breakfast should have been advertised as continential as that what was free
- Laura (10/5): Sweet spot in Sanur - We arrived late evening and reception was excellent. We were given a room upstairs. My first Impression was that it was dark and outdated, yet spacious. When they heard we we were not happy they were quick to accommodate us and relocate us to the ground floor bungalows, which was much brighter, newer and a beautiful large terrace. The location, grounds, pool and staff are excellent. Well manicured, very clean and a good price point. Just a short walk to the beach, Main Street with many shops/restaurants etc. Wifi is reasonably good. I would highly recommend you check this out.
This is our first time in Sanur as well and it is a quaint touristy community with great sandy beaches. You won’t be disappointed.
* We liked it so much here that we booked a second week 🙂

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Big Rooms, good air conditioning, great pools, great restaurant, staff fantastic, good location, good restaurant close by, 50,000 IRD taxi to beach.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - All the staff we lovely and very friendly and helpful, great pool area very relaxing and. Quite area and close to great restaurants, pool was a little warm but it was very warm/humid weather when we where there. Loved the fresh cooked breakfast instead of the usual buffet breakfasts at other places
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely property and lovely pool area. The bungalows were very comfortable - only thing that let them down were the bathrooms, they were a bit dated and need upgrading. However, good location and value for money so would stay here again.
