Guest Reviews
- Blanca (10/5): - I stayed one night and was fine. I checked out late and wasn’t charged anything
- Jose (10/5): - Was very convenient, very good price, a lot restaurants and shops near
- Fiona (8/5): - The location was great for the mad streets of Bangkok and if the weed streets is your thing then happy days. But for me the room did smell every time we came back as if the smell was soaked into the walls from previous guests smoking. But the staff were great and the room was clean and a very good price.
- Carsten (10/5): - Nice clean Hotel, good Rooftop Pool, Stuff very helpful, little bit noisy from bars nearby at night. Stayed there many times, will come back again.
The only thing to complain are the selfish Chinese People who don't take care about other people in the pool while swimming. I'm not shure if thy stay in the hotel or just use the pool for swim exercise.
- Odette (4/5): - Location-wise, the hotel is close to Khao San Road and within 20-30 minutes walking of the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. The bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, I stayed here from Friday-Monday and the room was not cleaned once.
Besides this, music starts playing at the restaurants in the street at 18:00 every day and ends at 03:00/03:30. I slept only a couple of hours every night since I could only fall asleep after the music had stopped, even with earplugs. So if you like to stay somewhere comfortable, and don’t mind the business and noise it’s a good place!
- Samy (10/5): Super - Parfait, propre, simple, efficace et super emplacement.
Huoneisiin kuuluu melu kuten kaikissa alueen hotelleissa joten ostathan korvatulpat!
- Lenita (10/5): Utvärdering - God service, fick rummet ett par timmar tidigare vilket var mycket bra. Trevlig personal. Bra städning
- Luis (10/5): Me gusta mucho este hotel - Muy buen hotel a buen precio
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Andreas (8/5): Empfehlenswert - Gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis. Mittendrin in Khao San, entsprechend eher laut. Schöner Pool auf dem Dach. Zimmer mittelgroß, sauber.
- Brittany (10/5): - I accidentally booked a day wrong and contacted them through Expedia they replied quickly even though it was 2 months before. When we arrived everything had been changed and our room was very clean and comfortable. Loved the rooftop pool, air conditioning, that it was a very social street. Met other travellers easy. Well established facility.
- HW (8/5): - The rooftop pool is nice. Room is basic. You can hear a lot of noise from the lively drinking district outside, so you should keep that in mind. I brought ear plugs, but could still hear a little bit. The staff are friendly. Personally I don't think I'd stay in this area again because it's inconvenient for the subway and negotiating a fair taxi or tuktuk in this area is a big challenge--very touristy area and people know we're naive to the local prices. Overall a good stay for the price and if you want to step right out into bars and drinking, this is a good place to stay.
- Suzanne (10/5): Good hotel in a great location. - All good at this hotel. fantastic location, good rooftop pool.
- Katherine (8/5): - The staff that were at the desk co
- Mikkel (10/5): Great place - Great location, and nice pool, some noise from the street, but normal in that area
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean, friendly close to Khaosan earplugs require. - Very nice helpful front desk at check in so tip something people it all adds ups! If you can afford to travel you can afford to drop a few THB on nice service people.Room was small but very clean. Pool is nice but small so pick your times thoughtfully.
- Erwin (10/5): Good hotel in a good location - Hotel is clean, nice staff. There's a pool on the roof top, nice add-on but we didn't get the chance to use it. The location is really good, one block away from Khaosan Rd, a 15 min (hot lol) walk to the main temples, bus stop is a short walk in the corner of the street. Lots of restaurants, massage places, shopping stores, grocery near by. FYI: free daily bottled water =)
Pillow is thick and hard - unfortunately I'm used to a medium flatter pillows as thick one's hurt my neck.
Bathroom's door is a clear sliding door covered by a shower curtain, can be award depending on who you're travelling with.
Noisy area - did't bother us, as we go home late.
All of this are minor.
- Jeffrey (8/5): Excellent location and rooftop pool - Amazing location right in the heart of the Banglamphu area. Lots of restaurants, bars and food stalls right outside the door. There is 7-11 convenience store right in hotel. Burger King and McDonalds around corner. 15 minute walk to Phra Athit river ferry pier. Nice room with boutique touches and small bathroom divided by sliding glass door. Some noise from night clubs nearby even in back rooms. Great rooftop pool from 9am-8pm. Very friendly staff who really seemed concerned with guests. Had problem with air conditioning one night and they went above to try and move me and resolve it. Overall good stay.
- Marie (10/5): - Great location, less busy than Kaosan road, friendly staff, well decorated. Clean with a nice rooftop pool .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great staff facilities as stated perfectly situated just noisy at night
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good Location...Easy access...Staff were helpful when trying to get to airport organising transport
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to stay near Khaosan Road. Close walking distance to everything but a little noisy at night.
- John (8/5): Good location, comfortable, but ...... - Great location being only a 3 blocks way from Khoisan Road. Room was clean and comfortable and the pool on the roof was a nice place to get away from the noise street. The only problem was the AC unit in my room was extremely noise and had trouble sleeping. If you didn’t use it the room became too hot.
- Javier (6/5): Poor desk checkin - reception after arrive late - I was not allowed into my room for nearly 30 minutes because someone was considered checked in to the same room. Even though I had my confirmation number/passport etc., the receptionist could not get off his/her butt to investigate by either sending someone up to check or going there themself. I consider that poor service.
- Kevin n (8/5): Hotel staff friendly nice pool upstairs on the roo - Great location near khaosan st bars clubs shops.....
- Terry (2/5): Not Good - The Sleep Within Inn is not a good place if you need to rest or relax during the night the music was so loud it was like the window was wide open no hot water to shower hotel is very.... old.. taking a shower is like taking one in your back yard with a water hose literally...noone speak English for new Travelers watch out for the taxi and the Tooties. They sit outside the hotel they scammers. The very best place to go for your money exchange is called Super Rich....
- Lee (8/5): Great - Great hotel. Great location. Great service.
- Marc (8/5): still as good - Stayed at the place numerous times. In the heart of khao San / Rambuttri road, so not a place if you want peace and quiet. Lots of bars and places to eat. Great place to hang out for a night or 2. Good air-conditioning, nice pool, bed is OK. Fridge and mini bar are also a good addition. Free Wi-Fi. A bit sparce on TV channels.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great housekeeping, receptionists needs improveeds - House keeping is great. Receptionist not very helpful.
- gill (8/5): Stunning location - Always ask for a room above floor two if u have booked a premier double x (cos the A/C outside ur window on floor two and NO balcony) this is louder than the great thumping music from the road which we love !! x great location if u get a good price defo stay here we going back for the 4th on return from our travels xx
- Mark (10/5): Great location/value for money - The information on several sites reflect how the ho(s)tel is. The room was very clean, free water, good wifi (with username and password per room). The bathroom was clean and good and the room was cleaned everyday. Two free bottles of water included everyday, large mirror on the wall, a small fridge actually filled with some refreshments and snacks for a good price (there is a 7-Eleven right next door). 24hr manned reception downstairs. Rooftop pool (small, but clean, nice and free towels included).
The neighborhood is very lively, so if you don't like noise in the middle of the night, don't stay anywhere along Khoa San Rd.
Tip for transportation: ignore all the guys wanting to give you taxi rides for "cheap price", non-metered price. Walk along the parallel road 100-200 meters, then just hail one of the taxi's off the street and get in immediately; that taxi will use the meter and it's much much cheaper. If the driver stops and wants to know your destination first, don't take the taxi. Just let them go and wait a minute for another one. Saved me tons of money.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel room was a good size, and the balcony was decent though there were no chairs, so almost useless. The bed was quite uncomfortable for the price, but the shower / bathroom was a nice size. Pool was decent as well. Close to Khaosan, and didn't really have an issue with the noise. The AC was perfect though. Wifi is slow, but I think that's almost anywhere in Thailand
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent place - Rooms don't look as nice in reality as they do online. Great location though. Get a room in the back of the building if you want sleep because the main road is loud at night with live bands and bars etc.
- Jenny (4/5): - Our room didn't have a window and the pool was out of action during our stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel was definately not quite as advertised, the room was small and very noisy. The staff were nice but not very helpful. Had we been there more than 2 nights I would have found another hotel to stay at.
Yes they have a look but again smaller than it looks.
- ian (8/5): good value and location - good clean hotel 2star style
- Terence (6/5): Convienent for most things - The hotel was ok but very noisy music been played till 2-00 am cleaner not very good they was hairs on floor from previous clients toilet was not clean could have done with some bleach down toilet to get rid of stains . We had no shampoo and soap left we had to ask for it , room was small but quite well set out .
- Kendrick (8/5): Convenient, clean, in the middle of the Action - Stay here often. Staff are very welcoming , friendly and accommodating. Very convenient for business with our suppliers on Khao San and Rambuttri. Because its centrally located, it can get noisy with bar band music reaching your room. I don't mind the music. Recomendad travel agent in lobby an de convenient money change and 7-11
- Kornelia (8/5): - Nice hotel in good location. I had a room from party-side street but if You close the window it's Ok
- Loran (8/5): You get what u pay for it - basic, if u want fancy posh things it's not for u, for1-2nights its perfect.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect Location - Hotel is located just off Kohsan Road, which was perfect for us. 20 minute walk to Grand Palace, boat trips and other temples. lots of surrounding bars and restaurants. Although Street food is recommended! Being located behind Kohsan Road ment the area was lively but we were not kept up by the bars once we decided to leave. the road the hotel is located on also has great bars and restaurants without the intensity of Kohsan Road.
- Jana (8/5): Great location - We wanted a place close to Khao san road but slightly quieter. I read a few reviews about sleep with Inn being quiet and therefore booked it. Our room was quite nice and standard, but not as quiet as expected, so they moved us to a slightly smaller and more quiet room. I didn't quite realise that the street they are in are pretty busy at night as well, but it's actually in a great location. We used the swimming pool which was nice. There's a 7-11 just outside, and lots of eateries and even massages places. Take note the live music do seep in, but most people stay up pretty late themselves. The staff were really helpful. The rooms were basic but clean. Had fridge and safe, and free water every day.
- Emma (6/5): - Should have believed the previous reviews! Although not on Khao San Road, the hotel is situated between 2 bars, with live music in each. It was very noisy until 1am(ish)!!! I had ear plugs in and could still sing along to the music!
The receptionists were nice at check in, but not very attentive after check in / asking questions, and made comments to each other in Thai.
The room smelt awful, the shower didn't drain properly, so we were greeted with a damp smell, which was not pleasant at all.
If we left the toilet LID up, we could also smell the toilet even after flushing.
The room did not have a window to look out of or to open, but did have a partial window with an air con unit in the way.
Wifi was good in the hotel, and the bar out the front was the cheapest for Chang beer, which you could still get the wifi signal.
The pool is very small, 4 people sitting around the pool and it feels very cramped.
The location is very good though.
- The Bewley's (8/5): Good location for a traveller! - Just one road away from Khao San Rd, this is the perfect location for travellers that have upped their budget a bit to have a break from hostels. We stayed here for 4 nights in total, once when we arrived in Bangkok and then when we departed. The staff were more welcoming on the second time and the room we were given was clean and an okay size. Amenities were good and the location was perfect for a traveller that doesn't want to spend a lot of money of tuktuks or taxis. There's a shopping centre called MBK where you can buy almost anything, ask a tuktuk to take you there for no more than 200THB.
Would stay here again when returning to Bangkok.
- Molly (8/5): Centrally located near Khao San - My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights on arrival in BKK. After reading reviews complaining of noise from the street below heard in most of the rooms, I emailed the hotel and asked if we could be moved to a more quiet room at the back of the building (near elevator is quietest) and they quickly replied and said this would be fine and we'd be upgraded, which we were :) so overall staff were friendly, it's very close to the action (didnt realise this when booking), nice facilities, clean rooftop pool and albeit a bit of noise it was not a nuisance. Room was clean, provided hair dryers, towels, good wifi. Ideal if your wanting to party on Khao san, and fine if not just make sure to specify its quiet room!!x
- Marissa (10/5): Hotel surrounded by anything you need. - The hotel is on the street right behind Khao San Road. It's super easy to get to from the Main Street and is in the heart of everything you need. There is a 7-11 next door as well as a money exchange. There is also a travel agent type place in the walkway as you enter the hotel lobby. The hotel is surrounded by nightlife, restaurants, shopping, tattoos parlors and massage places. There is plenty of street food as well. My boyfriend and I came here for NYE and the streets were like one big party. Great location, clean (small) room.
- Krys (4/5): Caters to your most basic needs - Close to Khao San Road but far enough from the craziness. Very basic hotel and tiny room; only good for toilet, shower and sleeping. Front desk were friendly. Wifi is as awful and never worked in our room, even though staff said it was fixed. Would only recommend for what I said above, and if you plan on being out all day.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Weekend break with my daughter - Room are very basic and could be a lot cleaner.
Had to change the first room as it was too noisy some machine outside that couldn't be switched off.
The rooms are very small and thats after an upgrade to a superior deluxe.
- Jan (6/5): ok but not great - there was a strange smell coming from the bedspread. they changed it but it didn't disappear completely. The outside noise is loud but hey you are almost at khaosan road so this was expected. Toilet and shower is covered by a glass window and a draper. The bed is sof and ok for thailand. Hotel is what you pay for.
- Andrew (6/5): Great location, reasonable hotel - Hotel couldn't be in a better location, just off Khao San Rd however the customer service of the staff here is probably the worst I've ever seen. I came in one night (not overly late) and was confronted with a stern looking woman who simply didn't believe that I had a room there!! I tried explaining to her that I did. (she even had my passport but she wouldn't check it) - eventually I had to get a local off the street to explain my plight to her. Seen around 8 members of staff and the only one was remotely pleasant was the lady when I checked out.
- Gregory (6/5): Good location, okay spot - Front desk very rude and not helpful. Small lobby, small rooms, small pool area. Wifi disconnects every time you log in and hardly works. Great location though and very clean rooms with good AC.
- Sarah (8/5): Perfect Location - Great location, average room
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely staff! - I booked their most expensive room, and they gave me one with a balcony. Within 5 minutes of arriving determined that it was not what I wanted, and they changed me within minutes.
After one night in the second room I learned that the wifi reception there wasn't up to snuff, and they put me in a third room without any hesitation.
This room had everything I needed, and this sort of help to make me happy was not what I'd had at other hotels in the area.
- Arie (2/5): Definitely not worth it - We booked for Friday-Saturday (2 nights), at night there was so much noise until 1am in the morning (and even after that)... so much noise we couldn't sleep properly.
Complaining to the hotel - they said we should appreciate we have live shows outside of the hotel - what is there to appreciate?
Besides - the rooms are very small (mind the room size), European style ... any other hotels we booked in Thailand had much bigger rooms, much more spacious, even cheaper hotels had bigger rooms.
Only positive was the guys who helped us with the luggage once we arrived with taxi but note taxis have no place to stand, you have to do it all in a rush ... very inconvenient overall. Definitely not worth the considerable "high" price it charges - for $5 - $10 more per night you can get much nicer and comfortable rooms with almost any other hotel around.
- Jeckel (6/5): nice clean hotel but poor service - Checked in late at around 1:00am have to wait for the receptionist to arrive room boy cannot do anything but to say to wait. Receptionist arrived 10 minutes after requested for a higher room upon making the booking but gave me the 2nd floor adjacent to the lift.
- Luciene (6/5): - Enjoyed the pool area, very relaxed, could be cleaner the area but never mind, fun to stay in there.
- coral (8/5): Great location, clean rooms, nice pool - It's perfect for Khaosan Road, shopping and bars.
The pool area is nice and the pool clean.
There was a funky sewage smell sometimes
- michael (10/5): good value - we both enjoyed our stay we found the staff very friendly and helpful. the hotel is real value for money . we will certainly return
- Charlotte (8/5): Comfortable Stay - This is a great hotel for its location and the price. Also when we had some issues with the room (example: Air con stopped working). Without hesitation they put us in a new room. Unfortunately, then I got food poisoning and they knew who to call and there was a doctor at my door in minutes. It was comforting to know that they were looking out for us and prepared to help. I highly recommend this hotel! The pool is also lovely to cool down from the heat.
- sudin (4/5): Great location. The hotel is alright - The rooms are a bit dated and doesn't look the same as in the pictures. The staff definitely needs more training in customer service skills and I found them to be rude and constantly talking among each other while serving customers. The bed is alright and basic amenities like kettle and tea/coffee is missing from the room. The location is great and there are heaps of bars and restaurants around the hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Exceptional for the price. Would recommend if your on a budget.
- Uday (2/5): Pathetic staff. Not friendly at all. - I reached the hotel early morning. Asked if I could check in early. They did not had rooms available which is fair enough, so they refused. But the way they refused was not good. The staff was very rude and unfriendly.
- kim (6/5): Ok for short stay - We stayed two nights room was very small but clean . Small pool on the roof which only had a few Sun lounges. We had no problem with any of the staff some other reviews said they were quite rude. Ok for a couple of nights.
- Graham (8/5): Fantastic location, clean and modern room. - Sleep With Inn is situated in the heart of the backpacker district, just minutes away from Khao San Road, Starbucks and local bars and eateries. For the cost per night you get a generous and well equipped room complete with safe, mini bar and a/c. If you're not a night owl or fan of bars and loud music then this hotel is not for you, as it is flanked by (very) loud bars that play (very) loud music into the early hours. if partying is your scene, or you have no trouble with loud music, then this is the perfect hotel at outstanding value for money.
- Scott (8/5): - Nice hotel for the money especially if you're in Bangkok to party. Right between 2 busy night life streets. If you plan on going to bed before 3am don't stay here. Music from the bars is very loud. Slept with ear plugs and the music was still very loud and kept us up late the night before our excursion left at 7am.
- martin (6/5): Stay at another hotel - Room was not cleaned .. No water was provided .. And the staff could improve
- Marc (10/5): My fav place to hang out in BKK - Wow - i stay in hotels around 80 nights per year and usually in 4* or 5*. I have been staying here for years and this is by far the best ever 3* hotel i have stayed in and for a little over £20 a night for their best room it is AMAZING value.
The hotel is in a noisy area so if you are looking for tranquillity you should not stay here and indeed this area is not for you. This is a backpacker/music/party area however some rooms are quiet but you should specifically ask and not expect total peace and quiet
THe roof top pool is small but really good to relax at. They charge for wifi but at 10 bhat or so for 30 mins or about 100bhat per day it will not burst the bank.
Basic stocked mini bar and good rooms although a little small but for the money you cannot argue. THey are safe, clean, good aircon and decent beds. what more do you need!
Plenty of places close by for food
- Verified traveler (4/5): Loud and hard - The hotel was a great location for partying but bad if you have travelled 30 hrs to get there and need a good night sleep. The room was decently clean but not much in the way of security. The only lock was the door knob with no chain or secondary lock inside. There was a safe in the room which was good. Bed/pillows were rocks.
- Frank (4/5): Central but noisy and unfriendly - Starts off bad with rude front desk staff. They don't say hello, only thrust the sign in sheet at you. When the guy was handing a wifi password card to another guest, I asked if I could have one. He didn't even look at me or respond. Politely I asked again and he snapped "Wait a minute!" Not very welcoming feel, but it seems like all of Bangkok is like that these days. Not a lot of smiles. Well, the room itself is ok, but small and a weird bathroom setup. If you want to listen to cheesy cover songs from the band in the bar downstairs until 1 am, ask for room 207. I can't imagine a louder volume anywhere else.
- Antonio (10/5): - Awesome location awesome facilities great place for walking around shopping eats and nightlife, however quiet enough for a good night sleep
- Shez (6/5): Clean, good location - The room and building were clean and we were glad of the pool. The surrounding flooring of the pool area is slippery and dangerous so be careful. The bathroom floor is slate and very slippery as well - we put a towel on the floor of the shower to rectify the slippery surface. This area is next to Kao San Road, lots of night life and activity so if you want quite and peaceful, go somewhere else. We enjoyed our 3 nights here as it was the end of our 1 month travels in Malaysia and Thailand, and were able to walk or get to most things we wanted to see, quite easily. We read other comments about the staff not being helpful or friendly - we agree, they were not the usually expected smiling Thai people we found most places. We needed 3 beds for 3 women, and the extra bed wheeled in had a very thin, hard mattress, so wasn't as comfortable as the two beds. Our room was towards the back of the building so the night pub music was not too loud.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not recommended - The hotel looks nothing like the photos, I should have known that with it being near Khao San road it wouldn't be great.
The pool was dirty, Our room absolutely stunk of cigarette smoke when we checked in it took about 3 days after leaving the window open and a lot of open tiger balms to get rid of it! It's also really loud in he evening which didn't bother me as I can sleep through anything but if you're a light sleeper and not going out late that night you won't be getting any sleep until at least 2am. When our room got made up they would forget to leave us new towels or water, sometimes both and then it would take ages to get them.
The rooms are really really small, the receptionist on check in was really rude too, I wouldn't recommend this hotel and I definitely wouldn't stay here again.
- Blum (6/5): One rude receptionist - Very loud if your room face the front with live band playing below. A very unfriendly rude young man at reception who insulted us after requesting an additional night without reservation??
- pradeep sritharan (4/5): internet NOT free - Pro : the location is great...
Clean hotel
Cons : must pay for internet
Loud music frm pub nearby
makes it difficult to
sleep at night
Staff not friendly at all
- Virginia (8/5): Noise spoils a good hotel - Everything was good except the noise from the bars nearby which when until 2 am.
- cser (6/5): xx - free wifi,no free 10min from 25 bath
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location, ok hotel. - Good location in street next to khao San road, staff were not particularly helpful or friendly but room was good for price and enjoyed the rooftop pool
- James (8/5): Good option near Khao San - Great location, very close to Khao San. Still a little loud at night, but that's the trade-off when you are near Khao San. Very friendly staff. They were able to accommodate a very early checkin without any extra fees.
- chris n (6/5): great location, horrible staff, dirty pool. - hotel was ok. great location on a busy street and the noise was not loud. the front desk hotel staff are horrible. no smilling, no help. on the other hand the cleaning lady very friendly. the rooms are very small but ok for me. it was clean. but the pool was really dirty, stuff floating in the water. gross. ok for the price, $38 a night. no frills, this is not a luxury hotel. but good if your on a budget.
- JIALUO (8/5): worth for money... - Close to a Khaosan Rd, pretty clean room. However my room was on 2nd floor and it was not that quiet.
- Grant (6/5): Central and does the job. - Enjoyed the hotel for what it was. It can get noisy around that area(near Khao San road) but that's to be expected. Room was clean and staff were friendly.
- Lisa (8/5): Good hotel in good location. - Nice clean hotel in good location. Would be improved by free wifi.
- Sandra (6/5): Good location but, staff not really friendly - We didn't use the swimming pool as it is very small with drunk people around and the water wasn't really clear. The advantage in the room was the fridge and the security box. It is small, a bit noisy at night but it was OK.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Acceptable - Upon request, we stayed at level 3, away from the noise. If you are a light sleeper, do inform the hotel staff when booking. I like the fact that it is a smoke-free hotel however I witnessed a man smoking at the end of the corridor with window opened. Overall no big issue for our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A clean and unique hotel without WIFI - For a budget hotel it is very clean, spacious. Sleep Withinn is located at backpacker area which is easy accessible by boat at the nearest pier which is 5 min walk from the hotel. Day staff is friendly but not for the night staff (perhaps doing their 2nd time job?). I stayed in the hotel for 2 days with a family of 5 (with 2 children) and we had a different experience in Thailand. For those with sensitive nose to aircon, do think twice. Otherwise no bug fuss.
- Michael (8/5): Great location, at a good price - Great location right near Koh San Road, loads of little markets, food places and bars around, vibrant area of Bangkok. Rooms were clean and very good value. Comfortable bed and Air Conditioning. They also have a pool on the roof which is cool.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Need to separate the shower from the toilet, when showering all the bathroom is full of water.
