My husband suddenly fell ill and his response was exceptional. He was prompt, discreet, substantial, but still very humane. He helped us with everything we needed, showing real interest and understanding, which made such a difficult situation much more manageable. It is not only a wonderful, clean hotel with very nice rooms and wonderful food, but it also has wonderful people, distinguished by humanity, something rare these days. I also thank the wonderful girls at the reception. I don't know the names of Dubravna alone. Also. all the restaurant staff and especially Mariza. With appreciation, Doxa Zisimatos.

Andre (1/5): Levensgevaarlijk voor allergieën en zwaar ondermaats voor 4 sterren - We frequently book 4-star hotels through Booking.com, but this was by far our worst experience. Despite the premium price, the service and safety standards were appalling. 1. Critical Safety Negligence (Nut Allergy): We requested a specific nut-free breakfast for my son’s life-threatening allergy as early as March 22nd. We reminded them during check-in (April 11th) and again on the 12th, 13th, and 14th. Despite this, they failed twice: April 13th: At 6:00 AM, the breakfast wasn't ready. They handed us a "standard box" containing nuts. No apology was offered, and the staff was dismissive. April 15th: We requested it for 6:00 AM, but by 6:15 AM, nothing was ready. We had to leave for our trip without any food. Only after a formal complaint to upper management did they finally provide the correct meal on April 18th. This proves they were always capable, they simply didn't care. 2. Substandard Facilities (Not 4-Star Quality): Electricity: On April 11th, the power was out from 2:00 AM until 4:00 AM. Air Conditioning: The AC was non-functional and the room was uncomfortably hot. Reception refused to turn it on, claiming it was "centrally controlled." We paid for 4-star comfort but lived in an overheated room. Housekeeping: Basic supplies like toilet paper were not restocked during room cleaning. 3. Poor Service & Hidden Costs: We booked Half-Board, but were shocked to find that even plain water is not included at dinner. You are forced to pay extra for water, which is ridiculous at this price level. On our final day (April 18th), the receptionist was extremely cold and rude; she didn't say a word and simply pointed at our breakfast bags at the far end of the desk for us to pick up ourselves. Conclusion: The €120 refund provided by the hotel only covers the cost of the failed meals; it does not compensate for the immense stress and the safety risk my family faced. This is a 4-star hotel with 1-star service.
Andre (1/5): We are deeply disappointed - zwembad is heel goed Naast de gevaarlijke situaties met allergieën, was het ontbijt in het hotel zelf zeer eentonig. Elke dag werd exact hetzelfde geserveerd zonder enige variatie. Dit is een groot contrast met andere hotels in dezelfde categorie, zoals het Rosamar Garden Resort, waar het menu elke ochtend wisselt. Voor een 4-sterrenhotel is dit aanbod zeer teleurstellend en karig Het personeel is onvriendelijk en onprofessioneel. In plaats van excuses aan te bieden voor de fouten met de allergie-maaltijden, was de receptie op 13 april onbeleefd. Ook bij het uitchecken op 18 april was er geen enkel woord van beleefdheid; de tassen werden zwijgend op de hoek van de balie gezet. De communicatie tussen het hoofdkantoor en het hotelpersoneel is een puinhoop. De faciliteiten zijn absoluut geen 4 sterren waard. We hadden stroomuitval tijdens de eerste nacht, de airco werkte niet (kamer was veel te heet) en de receptie weigerde dit op te lossen. Zelfs de basisvoorraad zoals toiletpapier werd niet aangevuld. Voor een hotel in deze prijsklasse is het schandalig dat je zelfs voor plat water bij het diner €3,50 extra moet betalen

Kristina (9/5): - Die Lage ist toll, wenn man fernab der Touristenströme unterkommen möchte. Die Anlage ist grandios arbaut, das Ambiente ist toll und lässt einen schnell in den Urlaubsmodus kommen. Die Wellnessanlage ist ein Traum! Das Zimmer lag neben der Entlüftungsanlage, d.h., Tag und Nacht Entlüftungskrach. Abschalten im Zimmer? Unmöglich! Der nächste Supermarkt ist 1,3 km entfernt. Für eben mal was kaufen, weiter weg. Die Reinigungskräfte haben schon 3 Minuten vor 10 Uhr unser Zimmer geöffnet, um zu putzen. Wir haben gerade unseren Koffer geschlossen. Das empfanden wir als übergriffig.
SP4556 (4/5): Never again! - This hotel was extremely disappointing, and did NOT feel like a 4 star hotel at all. It was a really mixed experience. The positives: 1. The staff were really lovely and very friendly. 2. Location was pretty decent, not far from old town but in an area that felt relatively quieter and very safe. Also close to the beach but be warned, it's an incredibly steep walk. It was nice to be near to the promenade with some small shops and restaurants. 3. Gym was well equipped, and the only place you can get free water! The negatives: 1. The room appeared clean but it was insanely dusty. My family and I were coughing and sneezing and had itchy eyes the WHOLE time we were there. We were all instantly fine as soon as we left. The beds were also quite uncomfortable. 2. The restaurant. Only one restaurant was open while we were there, and the food was mediocre and samey. Also very unimpressed that a 4 star hotel keeps trying to fleece us out of 5 euros at every turn by charging for water at dinner (despite paying for half board) and for the fresh juice at breakfast. Also we left the restaurant every single meal smelling like grease and grilled meat. 3. Be warned to anyone who is looking to go at Easter - the place was FULL of school trips, and in particular groups of teenage polo players. This was a huge problem at mealtimes. They absolutely descended on the food, didn't know how to queue, and on several occasions I had to fight these teenage boys in order to try and get food for my 5 year old daughter. The restaurant was clearly not prepared for this and it took AGES for the food to be replaced, if it was replaced at all. One day we arrived at breakfast after the teenage boys had been, but an hour before breakfast closed - the restaurant just didnt bother replacing the scrambled eggs so there were none left. This is really poor. This really was NOT a 4 star experience and we have stayed at plenty of nice hotels. Really disappointing experience and we certainly won't return.
elsyrose26 (4/5): Overall disappointing and frustrating stay - An overall disappointing stay with multiple frustrating issues. For starters, we didn’t actually book this hotel, but the Valamar Argosy which turned out to not be opening for the season for another two weeks despite being available to book during our holiday dates. We were moved to this hotel. I think our main problem with this hotel is that many aspects of this hotel are not four stars. Firstly, the rooms. Unless you are staying in the superior rooms, the rooms are very old fashioned & dated. All the rooms are carpeted with brown carpet and the decor is very basic. The rooms were reminiscent of office blocks from the 1990s, and not a four star hotel. Also none of the bedding actually fit the beds, meaning the bare mattress was visible at all times which isn’t the most hygienic. We had to move rooms as our first room had multiple ants around the fridge & desk area. The temperature of the rooms is also a problem, the thermostat is controlled by reception and you could only change the temperature between 21 & 24 degrees. If you wanted it lower, you had to speak to reception. We found the lowest temperature far too hot, and found the most bearable solution to have the windows open permanently. The lobby & restaurant are renovated and modern, but the rooms simply do not match. The surroundings of the hotel are also not the best. Considering the whole area is made up of Valamar hotels, when walking between them you come across piles of dirt, abandoned construction and very poorly parked cars. I think the hotel could do a lot to improve upon this aspect and make the paths connecting the hotels a lot more pleasant to walk. We also found the buffet to be very average. The food was practically the same every single day with very minor changes. At breakfast, it was the same every day. Even the fruit never changed. The juice at breakfast was not actual fruit juice but a sort of very sweet cordial mix. I think the most frustrating thing we found at dinner was the drinks situation. Even on half board, you had to pay for water, and at €5.40 for 0.75 litres, it’s an extortionate mark up by the hotel. You could buy the same brand of water at the supermarket which was 90 cents for 1.5 litres. The soft drinks were even more expensive at €5 for 200ml of orange juice. The hotel would also turn off the water taps which were available at breakfast during dinner time so you had to buy their water. We ended up bringing our own water bottles to dinner which you can fill up for free in the gym. The general ambiance at meal times was loud and chaotic & not at all relaxing. We found ourselves wanting to be in and out as soon as possible. We also received no warning from the hotel that they would be hosting teams from the junior water polo competition happening nearby. This meant there were around 30 boys between about 10-14 years old pretty much unaccompanied walking around the hotel. They were very disruptive to the other guests, but nothing was really done about it. They were very loud during the day and at night, shouting from their balconies, and at the buffet they would block the serving stations and shout across the room at each other. They would also sit on the terrace at the bar playing songs and videos from their phones on full volume. Nobody seemed to correct their behaviour once. They really ruined the later part of our trip for us. All in all, it didn’t feel like a four star hotel to us. The staff at the front desk were helpful when you reported a problem but none of the other staff were particularly friendly.
Jad (10/5): Un séjour absolument parfait ! - L’hôtel bénéficie d’un emplacement exceptionnel en bord de mer, avec une vue à couper le souffle sur l’Adriatique. Les chambres sont spacieuses, impeccablement propres et très confortables, avec une literie de grande qualité. Le personnel est aux petits soins, toujours souriant et professionnel, ce qui rend l’expérience encore plus agréable. Le petit-déjeuner est varié et délicieux, avec des produits frais. Un véritable havre de paix à Dubrovnik — je recommande sans hésiter et j’y reviendrai avec grand plaisir !

Monique Swan (10/5): Amazing stay - Maro World for kids was the cherry on top! - There is so much about this hotel that is just absolutely amazing! The indoor pool, breakfast buffet, friendly staff, the super kids play area Maro World. We loved it all! We also tried the food at the hotel bar, and the pool and both were good (pool restaurant a bit expensive, though). There are also some mini marts and restaurants near Maro World, these were life savers as they were the only stores open during festive days - really appreciated that! Breakfast buffet is replenished often but beware, if you go close to 10am when it closes they stop restocking - go early! :) There is a direct bus line from right outside the hotel to the old town, super convenient! Note that the hotel shop near reception only sells one way tickets, and you can only buy the tickets with cash. Nearby Lapad, just 3 stops away, also has nice restaurants and grocery stores. Some small things - air-conditioning can't really be changed, even on cold it felt the same. The Valamar app through which room service is booked didn't work - there really should be a paper alternative, because we couldnt find the menu anywhere and the kitchen didn't want to read the whole thing out. On the last day, the bar in the reception offered a kiddies menu with great prices that would have been good to know about muuuuch earlier in our stay... The beach is not super close, but within about 10mins walking distance.

Anna (8/5): Molto confortevole. - Colazione molto buona, grandissimo buffet di dolci e salato. Abbondante scelta. Molto soddisfacente per tutta la famiglia. Inoltre, per essere una struttura molto grande ha le camere molto tranquille e bene sonorizzati. Avere una camera lati mare fa la differenza (tramonto davanti alle camere). Il divertimento per i bambini è garantito. Ottimo spazio wellness/spa/sauna per gli adulti. Solo uno dei ristoranti era aperto quando abbiamo provato noi. C’era tanta confusione e buffet all you can eat per 35€. Noi abbiamo fatto una passeggiata ai ristoranti nei dintorni.

zlatko (7/5): Lacroma je solidan hotel sa ljubaznim osobljem i raznolikom ponudom hrane - Doručak i večera su stvarno raznoliki i svatko lako pronađe nešto ukusno za sebe. Osoblje je izuzetno ljubazno i uslužno, pogotovo u baru. Happy hour u baru prije večere je dobra ideja jer su u ostalo vrijeme cijene pića pretjerane. Čistoća kupaone. Tuš kabina je imala tragove plijesni, u tuš kabini je bila dlaka na zidu. Pritisak vode u tušu je bio slab. Soba nema balkon. U sobi nas je dočekala jedna čaša (bilo nas je dvoje). Omjer cijene i kvalitete hotela je loš.
Brodowska (9/5): - Miejsce warte polecenia. Jedyny minus to czas otwarcia basenu krytego. Obiekt otwarty tylko do godz. 20, stosunkowo niewielki do ilości ludzi . Zdecydowanie brakuje czasu tylko dla dorosłych np. od godz 20 do 23. Nie ma możliwości popływania, ze względu na ilość dzieci, w czasie gdy basen zewnętrzny ma bardzo zimną wodę.

Flamure (10/5): Un séjour en famille parfait dans un cadre superbe avec un personnel aux petits soins. - Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille avec nos deux enfants. Tout était vraiment parfait : l’hôtel est magnifique, très bien entretenu et idéal pour se détendre. Le personnel est extrêmement gentil, accueillant et toujours disponible. Nous nous sommes sentis très bien du début à la fin. Honnêtement, rien de particulier à signaler, tout s’est très bien passé.

Mario (10/5): Pleasant - Variety of food for breakfast and dinner, chefs and waiters in the Mediteraneo restaurant, room stewards. Inside pool and room. During March and beginning of April a little bit too hot in the hall and in the room, temperature usually automatically resets to 24 degrees. If you forget to reduce to 21 degrees Celsius (that is min) or don't open balcony doors waking up in the morning is not the best.
