- emmjaybee (4/5): Tired hotel with disinterested service - A sad and tired hotel both in decor and service. The walls were scuffed and marked, furnishings felt like they were from the 1990s (only one side of the bed had a bedside light and no USB charging socket) and the staff always seemed too busy doing something else to help. Honestly a professional painter could have improved our room in an hour and a half! In its favour the rooms were clean (apart from the scuffed walls and furniture) and it is close to some really nice restaurants and bars (hence the 2 stars)

From the moment we entered the hotel, the staff were incredibly caring and understanding about what had just happened to us. They booked us a perfect room and paid attention to every detail. The hotel itself is wonderful, with beautiful and clean rooms, amazing staff, and a tasty breakfast. The location was perfect for our visit, as it is close to many tourist attractions and well connected by public transport. We truly felt at home and will definitely choose this hotel again on our next trip to London.

The receptionist welcomed us so warmly that, after such a stressful and disgusting experience with Airbnb, our mood instantly improved. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms are lovely, clean, and maintained. The breakfast was absolutely excellent, with great food and quality. Every single member of the hotel staff was kind and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London. It truly is a wonderful place, with fantastic staff, beautiful rooms, and delicious food. All in all, we are already planning to return to London, and we will definitely stay at this hotel again.

It seemed to originate from the bathroom vent. Complained at checkout and received a very surprised reaction - nobody had ever made that complaint before. And then another guest who was checking out said they had the same problem and had indeed complained the night they arrived. They were in the room directly below us. We received no acknowledgement from management that there was any issue.

Little storage for hanging clothes could have been an issue for longer stays. Breakfast was poor, especially the cooked food where it was luke warm at best and turkey bacon just isn't pleasant.

The only problem was the room temperature, it was too warm and the window could not be opened for fresh air. It would be nice if you could turn the temperature down or tilt the window. Service was excellent.

The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The breakfast is great, varied and of high quality. In the room, there is always tea, a coffee machine, cookies, and bottled water included, all replenished daily — a detail that makes a real difference. The location is excellent: the hotel is in a very quiet neighborhood, with a supermarket just across the street, and about 10 minutes from two metro stations, which makes getting around very easy. It’s also only 13 minutes to the famous Tower Bridge and 15 minutes to Borough Market on foot. Without a doubt, I highly recommend this hotel!

E bike/scooter rental lot right across the street. Great location, quiet neighborhood, a 75 year history of antique market is held on every Friday in front of hotel square and indoor that surprised me, I did buy something there. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

- jolaallaway (8/5): Good hotel, great location - My husband and I enjoyed our 2 night stay. We had our dog with us and he was made to feel welcome. The location is about 10 minutes walk from London Bridge station which offers access to both underground and overground rail services. The Shard is right next to the station, Borough Market just a few steps on, so lots to see and do within walking distance. Lots of restaurants and pubs en route, a busy area but felt really safe. There’s a Sainsbury’s Local right opposite the hotel, ideal for any small bits of shopping. The room itself was spacious, not a lot of cupboard space, but enough for a couple of days. The shower was lovely, but it was only an overhead one, so tricky when I didn’t want to wet my hair. The bed was comfortable, though a small double (I thought it was going to be bigger). The room was very quiet even though it overlooked a road; that was very welcome. As far as the dog was concerned, there was a small bit of green space opposite. Breakfast was small but perfectly adequate, enough choice for us. In summary, a good experience overall.

- Don (6/5): - Location good. Close to London Bridge and Burroughs Market. There is a Sainbury market across the plaza. I was charged twice for a uk adapter and they refuse to correct the error or provide the correct receipt.
- Lura (4/5): - The air conditioner was not working in our room for the duration of our stay. When reported, the front reception said they would have it looked at. No one ever came and the front desk did not communicate. When speaking with other guests, they commented that the air in their rooms was so cold that they had to turn it down. Our room was stagnant and sticky the entire stay. It was reported 4 times. On the last day I was told that maintenance was off the past two days, basically meaning that they were not truthful when they said they would get them to look at it.

- B7974EHrichardc (6/5): Good stay, fix the furniture! - Would have been 5 star, but a few things. The office chair was broken, and I cut myself 2 times during the stay on the exposed bolts. Asked many times for it to be fixed. Wasn't. The electrical plugs were broken on the right side of the desk. They were sparking, this could be a fire hazard. They were also not fixed. If it wasn't for that this would be perfect. But the problems were actually not just "stay" related, but "safety" related.

A lick of paint and replacing the fittings would make a huge difference. Also not ideal for transport links but the local area is very nice.

The only thing that we didn't like was being asked to pay an extra £10 as a 'staff tip' on checking out. This made us feel awkward and we have no idea if the staff actually get this money! Staff all very polite and friendly. Great location for Bermondsey High St and walkable to London Bridge station and the river. Won’t be back unless it has a major refurb.

- craigcoxuk (8/5): An Exercise in Almost - There is a kind of hotel stay that neither dazzles nor disappoints, but hovers in that maddening space between promise and polish. The Bermondsey Square Hotel falls, with some style, into that category. My terrace room was pleasant—spacious, clean, and with the rare luxury of outdoor space in central London. Yet the lack of any barrier between neighbouring terraces meant that fellow guests could wander past my glass doors at will. Privacy, it seems, is left to chance. A minor tweak would correct what is otherwise a rare and appealing feature. The hotel’s loyalty schemes—split between The Guestbook and their own membership programme—are unnecessarily complicated. I did receive the promised 5% cashback though the process inspired more confusion than confidence. The “15% cash forward” idea is clever, though. The room was well-appointed, though unfortunately placed opposite a staff office. Every so often, the calm was broken by a thump of a door, the beep of a key card, or the hum of staff chatter—small intrusions, but enough to remind one that silence is a luxury not guaranteed. The hotel’s dog-friendliness deserves praise, though with an asterisk. £20 for a dog feels high, particularly when the promised treats and food never materialised. The bed and bowl did, and were appreciated, but the gesture fell short of its billing. Still, service was warm, the location strong, and the overall feel was good. I never felt unwelcome, even if I never quite felt entirely relaxed either. It’s a stay I’ll remember—not for anything extraordinary, but for being a near miss that very nearly hit the mark.
- Joanna (10/5): - Great location, clean. Very attentive staff who sorted a couple of minor issues with the room. Good quiet air con and a fridge. Good tea and coffee making facilities in room.

Excellent breakfast with a large selection of fresh fruit, juice, hot and ready eggs, bacon, hasbrowns, beans, omelettes available, cereals, breads, muffins, croissants, yogurt, cappuccino. Local eateries close by.

- Maria Gimma (10/5): - The room can get too warm even when adjusting the thermostat so that made it less comfortable especially at night but there were nights during our stay when the weather was cooler. But the convenience of having a grocery store in front of the hotel , plenty of dining places , and a quick walk to and from the London Bridge station made our stay i this hotel worth our while . Also staff is very accommodating , respectful and helpful .

- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay overall, small improvements needed. - Overall an okay stay. Room needs some TLC. Unfinished paint on walls, a bit grubby and worn in places and loose fittings. No ventilation when the shower is on, and no way of opening a window for fresh air. Bed was very comfortable and the room was a very good size. We are not the complaining type and for the amount of time in the room it was fine. Just those few areas would make it a more pleasant stay. However I would consider staying again in the future.

- Mathew (6/5): - Good rate for the location near Tower Bridge area. Right next to supermarket, bars, restaurants within easy walk. A little worn and tired in my room. Hotel wifi (at least where i was) was unreliable and had frequent drop-outs during Zoom calls. Staff were friendly and helpful to the extent that they could help.

- Henry Yue Hong (6/5): not bad, but not good - The heating in the hotel is not enough, luckily the quilt is warm enough. The shower gel was running out, but they didn’t refilled it after reminding in the morning. Location is good.
- Martin (4/5): Check about first - Hotel is quite new but very basic dont bother paying for a terrace room its basically a shared roof on the first floor other rooms can come to the doors not secured. They have a bar but it cloaes early ... very comercial no wardrobes just open hanging desks at head boards bery weird no parking loads of small anoying faults. The Marriot down the street is better and same price +/-
- Charlotte (10/5): Safe, clean hotel - Great hotel. As a solo female traveller I felt very safe. The room was clean, spacious, and the complimentary water, hot chocolate and biscuits was a nice touch. Would stay here again.
- Shanade (8/5): - Staff has been extremely pleasant, the breakfast had quite a variety and it will be missed, Will keep this hotel on our list of favourite places to stay as the amenities available were fantastic and ensured our stay was a lot more comfortable.
- Maria (8/5): Room good, hotel facilities basic, not really 4* - The room was a good size and comfortable but the hotel facilities are very basic and not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. There is no bar or restaurant/room service at all expect for breakfast, which given this is a VIP property and is advertised as coming with 20% off food and drinks during the stay is misleading given we couldn’t even get any food or drink to use it on. I asked for ice one evening and was told it would be brought up to the room and it took over 30 mins so we couldn’t relax or get changed in the meantime. We then had a mandatory room service charge when we checked out which we weren’t informed about when booking or on hotels.com which isn’t good given the main service we had was poor.

- T2286MNcarolinem (10/5): Quiet comfy and spacious - Stayed in the Lily suite on a Winter discount deal. Was so quiet, comfy and spacious. Great location for heading out for a meal on Bermondsey street or heading into central london to see friends. Would stay again.

We were unable to turn on the AC but the staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast was the same every morning, but the variety allowed for different options. Great espresso coffee machine. There was a small problem with the payment due to the lack of contactless payment. I am expecting a refund of my prepaid amount, hope to receive it soon.

- 857martae (10/5): Good hotel for a few days hotel - We liked the location. Good value for money. . The room was really clean and and the workers in the hotel were really kind. My recomemdation for Spanish people is that if they can’t manage with English they should know that nobody speaks Spanish there. The room was spacious but there was little room to hang clothes

- Youko (6/5): Basic, clean and well located - Nice, clean, friendly staff. Yet, to call this hotel a luxury hotel it could use some improvements. The furniture is a bit worn out. Not enough comfortable seats, and the loumge downstairs could be more inviting. Do not expect an inroom safe, there is not enough room to hang clothes and towels, there are no extra hooks in the bathroom, very noisy AC/ventilation unit. Rain shower and bed are okay and the room is clean. Breakfast is continental. Location is nice, mostly residential area with a wide choice of restaurants nearby. Overall: basic, clean and well located.
- 651andersj (2/5): Find another hotel! - No hot water in the bath for alle the 3 days we stayed at the hotel. We spoke to the reception but nothing happend. We asked for refund, but they couldn't get anything back. We can not recommend the hotel.
