A very special thank you to Adriano at the front desk, who always greeted me with a warm smile and went above and beyond to help with directions, dinner recommendations, and reservations. He truly made me feel like part of the family. I’d also like to recognize Armando, who was incredibly helpful with arranging taxis and guiding me around the city, and Francesca, who always had a huge smile and made sure everything was perfectly set—especially when helping me arrange my taxi to the airport. Thank you as well to Alessandro for the warm greetings in the evenings—it was always so nice to come back to such a welcoming atmosphere. A heartfelt thank you to Norman for the many cappuccinos he prepared for me, each one topped with the cutest little messages that made me feel so special every single morning. Shout out to Cristian and Merito for making sure I had everything I needed at breakfast—they were attentive, kind, and truly wonderful. And to Kevin at the bar, thank you for the delicious limoncello and for making me feel completely at home. The hotel itself is spotless, charming, and perfectly located in the heart of Trastevere, where the nightlife is lively and full of energy every night. It's like a little oasis in the heart of the lively and vibrant Trastevere neighborhood. Rooms are quiet and comfortable, and the included breakfast and happy hour are lovely amenities. The staff stand ready to assist with anything you might need. We can't wait to return!

Personalet er meget hjælpsomme, da vi ankom hjalp de os med det samme med at få overblik over byen. Placeringen er perfekt, hotellet ligger lige midt i et område med masser af restauranter og det er meget trygt, at gå rundt om aftenen og natten. Selvom hotellet ligger super centralt, ligger det trukket lidt tilbage fra byens larm og man kan derfor sove i ro. Det helt perfekte sted for voksne mennesker der ønsker at være tæt på restauranter og samtidig bo meget charmerende i ro og mag. Personalet var venlige, opmærksomme og man fik en fornemmelse af at de var stolte af deres hotel. Morgenmad og bar fungerer ligeledes perfekt. Vi kommer uden tvivl igen :-)

• 448robync (10/5): Beautiful and quiet oasis in the heart of Trastevere! - Look no further than Hotel Santa Maria for your next visit to Rome. We were fortunate to stay her for 4 nights with our 2 teen sons and it was such an enjoyable stay. The flowers, trees, and landscaping are perfect and was a nice touch of beauty to come back to every day. The terrace was quiet and relaxing to spend an hour or so just soaking in the Roman sun. One of the cats kept finding our daughter and they bonded. The front desk staff is very helpful and gave us wonderful restaurant recommendations right around the corner. They also helped with ordering taxis for our stay. The breakfast room was a great addition for a morning treat and the specialized cappuccino from Norman was the nicest touch! If you choose to stay here, you will LOVE it! We hope to return one day!!!

Their customer service is fantastic, shout out to Armando/Arturo who gave us recommendations for great food, booked us taxis and just made sure we were happy and comfortable. Quiet like you're 10 streets back when you're actually only 1 and the staff are amazing and friendly all the time. Breakfast is great, with a buffet of eggs, sausages, bacon, cereal, cheese, pastrys and cake. Rooms are large and clean, only a short walk from amazing restaurants like ristorante da massi and taverna 51. Also gelato places to go to are il gelato and Santa Maria gelateria. A must for staying in rome.

We wanted something authentic and close to great food and historic and artistic sites. The room was gorgeous, nestled in a converted 15th century nunnery, beautiful courtyard with live fruit trees. The breakfasts were bountiful and delicious and the staff friendly, helpful and courteous. Given the hotel is in the heart of Trestavere, we were amazed at how quiet and peaceful it was. We were able to walk to all major attractions in 30 minutes or less from the hotel.

• Y3464KHseanl (10/5): A must-stay for visiting Rome! - I stayed at the Hotel Santa Maria with my partner recently on a quick trip to see the sights of Rome and we were both so impressed with the hotel and the SERVICE! The hotel is incredibly charming, set in a 16th century convent with an orange grove in the center where we could sit an enjoy morning coffee and evening treats. The staff is five star. They met us at the gate to welcome us, explained the hotel and neighborhood, and were there for anything we needed. Breakfast and happy hour food are included in the price, the neighborhood is lively and full of great restaurants, and it's a short walk to the major tourist attractions in Rome. When we return, we will 100% stay at Hotel Santa Maria again. HIGLY recommended!

The place is beautiful and quiet even if in the middle of a very lively neighborhood which is very convenient to have dinner outside at night when you're with a kid : no need to walk far to find nice restaurants, and the whole area is pedestrian. The room was perfect to accomodate 2 adults and a kid (it was a communicating 2-rooms). The beds were really comfy and the whole place was very clean. The breakfast is very nice too with scrambled eggs/ham/cheese, cereals, some fruits and sweets too (cakes and italian buscuits). Most of all, the staff is very kind and will make you feel at home ! We will definitely book again next time we'll visit Rome !

The lushness of the garden and citrus trees was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable, however we stayed in one of the smaller rooms, but the size was good for us.

Built on the grounds of a convent garden with a courtyard shaded by orange and lemon trees, Hotel Santa Maria is the perfect oasis in the beautiful eternal city of Rome. The room we had was large and comfortable. The breakfast room has so much history and character and is staffed by the most charming of people. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. This is where we will stay when we are back in Rome.

• juliecT4333BZ (10/5): Excellent small hotel in Rome - I can't speak highly enough about Hotel Santa Maria in Rome. As noted in previous reviews the staff and service is excellent. The small hotel with the peaceful inner courtyard is an oasis at the end of the day. The breakfast had a good variety and high quality food and the coffee is excellent. The happy hour, on Friday and Saturday was also excellent. The rooms are simple but very clean and very conforatable. Our room was cleaned daily and we had everything we needed. The staff is attentive to the guests and seem to genuinely care. I traveled with my elderly father and they were so kind and helpful. If needed they will order taxi or car service for you to the train station or airport. The location is easy to walk to food and about 20-30 minutes to all the sites on the other side of the river in Rome. As we had some limited mobility we made use of the Taxi stand which was a short walk from the hotel. The bus and tram station is also a short walk from the hotel. If you need a cat friend at the end of the day there is one roaming the courtyard that would be happy to sit on you lap. Thank you to the staff for making our 5 night stay so wonderful!

• Kelli (7/5): Pretty hotel ... but noisy ... - The breakfast is amazing. We felt safe here as it's behind a locked gate. The property is pretty and clean. The room is fine, however, the noise of the evening within the property kept us awake for 3 nights. They have birds that make noise, cats, and the tile outside the walkways - you hear everyone come back and slamming doors. The neighborhood is suppose to be one of the nicest, however, there is graffati up and down all the streets and alleys. They charge additional for water in your room and the happy hour, that is solisited is only on the weekends.

There was a hiccup the first night with some footsteps audible from the upstairs room, but they were very accommodating and moved me to a more isolated place the following night. • Karin (10/5): Simplemente INCREÍBLE!! - Nos gustó todo! Las habitaciones son grandes, nosotros éramos tres y estábamos muy cómodos. El jardín interno es hermoso, y todo es muy tranquilo. No se escucha nada del ruido de la calle. Y el desayuno es riquísimo! Esperamos volver pronto! Nada

• Elizabeth (10/5): - The facilities are among the best that I have ever stayed. It was an oasis from the city surrounding it, but was still very close to many good restaurants and bars. I cannot see staying anywhere else on my next visit to Rome. There were umbrellas available to use when we had a day of rain. The staff was amazing.

• Cynthia (10/5): - Great overall boutique hotel. Lovely gardens and piazza near St Mary's basilica. Ambiance was fantastic, breakfast, staff, happy hour were all amazing! The hotel was a great pleasure in Trestivere, close to Arno River. All good
