From the moment we arrived early in the morning after a long flight, the team went above and beyond to accommodate us with an early check-in, which made a huge difference and set the tone for the entire stay. The hotel itself is outstanding — the rooms are beautifully designed, spacious, and extremely comfortable. Everything feels well thought out and maintained to a very high standard. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of fresh, high-quality options that made each morning a pleasure. The location is perfect — centrally located yet quiet, making it easy to explore Rome while still enjoying a peaceful environment. A special thank you to Pankaj, who was incredibly kind, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. His assistance with the early check-in and his overall attitude truly elevated our experience. Highly recommended — we would absolutely stay here again.

- Raffaela (7/5): - Our stay at this hotel had some positive aspects, but overall it did not meet the expectations one would reasonably have for a 5-star property. The most noticeable shortcoming was the breakfast. The buffet selection was quite limited and lacked variety – in particular, there were no fresh vegetables or spreads available. Additionally, items such as pancakes and egg dishes came at an extra charge, despite breakfast already being included. In our experience, even hotels with fewer stars often offer a significantly more comprehensive and inclusive breakfast. We were also surprised by the policy of pre-authorizing €100 per night on our credit card for potential in-hotel expenses. For a 5-star hotel, this felt excessive and somewhat inconsistent with the level of trust and service one would expect, especially considering that our stay had already been fully prepaid. Another concern was that our passports were scanned during check-in. To our understanding, this practice raises questions regarding compliance with GDPR regulations, and it did not leave a comfortable impression. Service-wise, there was also room for improvement. During our stay, I suffered from severe food poisoning. While the staff offered to call an ambulance, there was no further assistance. We had to arrange a taxi ourselves to get to a pharmacy and obtain medication. In a hotel of this category, we would have expected a more proactive and supportive approach, such as assistance in sourcing necessary medication. Overall, while the hotel has potential, it is not yet at the level of service, attention to detail, and guest care that distinguishes truly outstanding 5-star hotels. There is clear room for improvement.

They went beyond standard hospitality. When my daughter became sick during our stay, Saskia arranged for a doctor to visit us without hesitation. On Christmas Eve, when we desperately needed last-minute car service, Saskia and her team worked their magic and ensured we had a fantastic driver for the night. Their professionalism, warmth, and genuine care for our family's well-being transformed what could have been stressful moments into seamless experiences. We loved all aspects of the hotel. The bellmen were attentive and gracious, always greeting us with warm smiles. The bartenders made an excellent cocktail and recommended some great wines. The front desk staff handled our requests efficiently and kindly, and the waitstaff provided impeccable service, making breakfast a pleasure. Upon arrival unto the gorgeous lobby we were escorted into the bar area and served a complimentary welcome drink. Roberta, a conceirge joined us in the bar to seamlessly check us in. She was very friendly, professional, welcoming and helpful. We booked the stay with Amex Platinum Travel and Roberta told us we were being upgraded to a very special suite . Suite 306 is tastefully decorated with a sumptuous bathroom. AND it has a 2 nd level full sauna, shower and lovely lounge chairs! The location is wonderful with many attractions within walking distance. We were truly sorry we only got to experience this magnificent hotel for 1 day/ night. We will definitely return to stay here again in Rome. It is a very special property.

The hotel itself is nice, and the manager, hosts, and hostesses were genuinely kind and professional, but my experience was negatively affected by one particular restaurant employee whose behavior was both disrespectful and unhygienic. I witnessed him verbally abusing another staff member, and I also saw him eating from the guests’ food with his bare hands, which is completely unacceptable in any hospitality setting. Although the rest of the staff were pleasant, this employee made my experience significantly worse, and it seems the San Baylon manager is unaware of his actions, likely because he has worked there for many years. I hope this matter would be taken into consideration

We booked only the standard room but I was impressed how spacious it was especially for a city hotel. The staff we encountered, from reception, to concierge, to restaurant staff and bartenders, and bellmen were all very friendly and helpful. The staff was every engaging in conversation and greeted us by name when they saw us. The food and beverage was excellent. The rooms are immaculately clean, spacious and modern and the beds are very comfortable. They even have a pillow menu from which guests can chose from a variety of different pillows. This hotel has everything discerning guests could ask for in a boutique property. Highly recommended!

- MooshLA (10/5): Prime location with excellent accommodations - Had a wonderful stay here on the third floor in a unique suite that came with a private sauna and steam shower in addition to the normal bathroom located one floor below. The room itself was spacious for 1-2 people with ample closet and drawer space and enough room for a King sized bed. The staff are very helpful and informative and the housekeeping (twice per day) was very attentive and also helpful. The location is prime - walking distance from most of the very popular and scenic spots including one thats just one block away, Piazza del Popolo. Great food and shopping just steps away and great food within the hotel itself with a fabulous breakfast buffet. Loved my stay here overall.

This by far was the best hotel experience with our group. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, from the sitting room off the lobby, to the lobby bar, to the relaxing outdoor patio. The rooftop bar is very peaceful with beautiful view of the surrounding city. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom were well appointed. Loved the espresso machine. The hotel is in a great location....very close to Popolo Square, and a short walk to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. Wonderful restaurants nearby as well. Our only complaint was that they would not allow us to open a bottle of wine we had purchased and drink with friends at the outdoor patio or roof top bar. They said it was an ordinance and could not allow it. We offered to pay a corking fee, but it was a no go. Other than that, our group agreed that this was a top of the line 5 star hotel, with attentive service throughout. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.
