Guest Reviews
- Martha (8/5): - Hjälpsam personal och tydliga instruktioner.
- Edward (10/5): A good experience! - I had a good experience here. Booked a small room with the basics, had a minor issue the first day that was handled well.
The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, tidy and in good condition, the shower had good hot water and the service was very good, and helpful. I would gladly stay here again.
- Halit (6/5): - Son gün kapıdaki adam çok suratsızdı
- Brenna (10/5): - This hotel was perfect especially for the price. The room was nice, the staff were helpful, the in room amenities were good, close to the tram that went directly to Centraal station. We were close to a ton of restaurants, museums and the inner canals of the city center. I will absolutely stay here again
- Victoria (10/5): - Stayed here for two nights over the weekend with my friend. We had a standard room booked which was compact and cosy. As we had the standard room, we didn't have a bathroom in the room but the bathroom with a shower was next to our room and no hassle at all. Coffee machine with pods in the room. On arrival, free shampoos, hairspray, toothpaste etc to use. The hotel was in quiet and pleasant location and everything was within walking distance. Good value for money and I would stay here again
- Tanja (10/5): - Check-in and out was very uncomplicated. The room was comfy, only the bathroom was a little on the small side.
But allin all very nice stay.
- Badal (10/5): - Fantastic stay in good locality. Very convinient transportation near by.
- Andrea (10/5): - The property was in a very nice area, a little away from the city centre however very walkable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quaint & very nice little hotel. Excellent staff. Quiet room on 1st floor. Thank you so much!
- Rie (10/5): - Staffs are very friendly and professional. It is clean snd comfortable to stay.
- Jonathan (8/5): - Very pleasant convent hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was quite small, very basic but clean. Jay at reception was very helpful and pleasant, and gave us a kettle for tea. The hotel was a quick walk to Leidseplein tram stop and the Rijks. An added bonus was the Lidl close by.
- Paul (10/5): - .
- Stephan (10/5): - As good every time
- Shenika (8/5): - The two male staff members I dealt with have amazing customer service. I had one issue arise and it was taken care of. It is an older property but it's also very clean. The shower door in room 20 was loud and a little tricky to close properly but I figured it out eventually. The bed was extremely comfortable, probably one of the best hotel beds I have ever slept in. The surrounding area is very walkable with plenty of shopping and dining options. I recommend this property and I would stay again.
- Debora (10/5): Very friendly staff - The room is small but very functional and comfortable. A great bed, good pillows and an excellent shower. The wifi is a little unstable. The reception and housekeeping staff were attentive and resolved the situation with the shower. The room has a double window..so very quiet. Close to the hotel there are many supermarket and restaurants.
It is at a reasonable distance from the historic center of Amsterdam.
- Lois (10/5): - It was close to the tram line, very quiet, a real treasure. Price was fantastic.
- Madeleine (8/5): - we had a great time! Rooms are very nice for the price and location is amazing. We did have some problems with the WIFI at night but besides that we had a perfect stay. Would recommend
- Olga (10/5): Great stay!!! - The location is amazing. It was a walking distance to everything. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. Parking was convenient right across the street. We were very well greeted upon arrival and the person explained everything to us and helped us find places on the map. The only negative feeling we had was about payment. They don't take normal credit cards. Only some debit cards and cash. I understand the desire to save on taxes and credit card charges but it kind of puts a negative feel on the whole experience.
- Angela (10/5): - Clean, comfy, and I got good advice.
- Constanza (8/5): Good in general, few details. - It was a really good hotel and very close to city centre and main attractions. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Doors weren't working properly as I got stuck in toilet twice and pillows were quite uncomfortable. Apart from that, everything was good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We stayed on the weekend and it was very noisy. Our room was near an entry door that slammed shut all night. Internet was patchy. Walking distance to all the main sites. Close to bus taking you to the airport.
- David (10/5): . - Super nice and helpful staff. Hotel is close to everything. Rooms are clean and well maintained.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Basically a hostel with a hotel price tag. Tony room. Nonworking shower. Avoid at all costs.
- LEE (6/5): Accommodation for the truly desperate! - The room I stayed in was hardly worth the amount I paid-not big enough to swing a cat. Stairs are dangerously steep and narrow so if there are fitness issues avoid. The only great thing about the place is the location. In a quiet part of town but close to the action be it museums or restaurants. Also Oleg was generous and provided a nice enough welcome while the other staff members clearly do not like their jobs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean. The bed was changed every day and the room tidied and cleaned. I would stay here again - a good area near Leidseplein. A typical tall steep Amsterdam building. We were on the 4th floor and it took some climbing. The shower room was very good apart from the door kept locking so sometimes you couldn’t get out😆!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Also ich würde jederzeit wieder hin fahren. So ein nettes Personal.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay with 2 caveats - Hotel Jupiter was great. A few things to note: the bathroom was very small and noise does carry pretty easily in the building. I suspect this might just be European standards rather than American though. I think only the super fancy hotels would have big western style bathrooms and soundproof walls.
- satoshi (8/5): - The staffs were nice. Very impressively steep stairs but the room was clean and cozy enough. Quite close to the sightseeing spots. I really recommend this hotel!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel Jupiter is in a great location! Easy access to the bus/trolly stops and an easy walk or bike ride to just about anything. The area is safe. The hotel itself is a small boutique like hotel. The stairs are steep because the building is older. The building and rooms are well maintained and clean. I was traveling by myself and stayed in the smallest room, it worked well for me. The staff was super helpful with any questions or needs I had. I was able to rent a bike for the day from the hotel. The hotel staff was kind enough to help me with navigation and other recommendations I was looking for. Very happy with my experience here and will definitely be back for a visit!
- Eunah Gabriel (8/5):
- Tatjana (6/5): - The location is perfect! Close to everything and quiet at the same time. The room interior is outdated and in need of renovation. The spring matres was broken and a spring end was poking out. The room was expencive for what it was.
- Matthew (8/5): Great Location! - Room was as promised, with a nice view.
Host was more than accommodating sharing local information.
Great location for transport and getting into main centre.
- Julie (8/5): Excellent value, location, customer service! - Great location and great service. Only downside is no A/C which usually would not be an issue; we were there during their 3 hottest days on record.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff were fantastic and very helpful. Rooms clean. Sharing one toilet and shower was not ideal but ended up being easy. Awesome location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely hotel in a great location and plenty of character.
Hotel is clean, service is 10/10 and the rooms are exactly what you need, no more no less.
The lift is a bit cosy, it’s a struggle to get 2 people in but it’s better than climbing Amsterdam’s infamous steep stairs! If I came back to Amsterdam I would be more than happy to come and stay here again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was great!! Cute little room but cozy..using shower was bit tricky but figured it out. I loved the wall color of room!!
- Timothy (10/5): Away days - Excellent services from staff
Rooms where comfortable and clean
Had a wonderful night stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, walking distance to tram, near grocery store. They give you slippers in your room to wear’ :) Only thing is it is an old building so definitely could use some upgrades, but overall decent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location in a quiet street not far from Leidseplein, the museums and supermarkets! Spacious room, really quiet at the rear of the property.
- shimon (2/5): dont go to this "hotel" !!! - the room is small, the stairs are hazardous, the floor in the shower smooth and very danger to public, and the hotel tax collecting extra 4 % for paiment credit card.not recomendet//
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location - Comfortable room, satisfactory facilities. Good location. Little thing to note: If you book your room through a third party such as through Hotel.com, Expedia etc, you will pay an extra cost on arrival. If you pay this cost by card rather than cash, you will also pay a further charge.
- Millie (8/5): - Desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was terrific.
- Steven (8/5): - Manager was great, friendly & repsonsive.
- Mary (10/5): Amsterdam - Very nice staff. I arrived very early, 0700, and I was able to go into my room. Was upgraded to a room with a private bathroom as I had booked a room with shared bathroom by mistake.
Comfortable clean room. Has radiator for heat. I was there middle of January. Did not see a vent for cooling during summer. This was room 19. It was not close to any attractions. 8 euro Uber ride to Anne Frank’s house. Location -not adviceable
- Eric (10/5): Great stay - Amazing stay. Couldn't be happier. Perfect location, quiet, comfortable beds.
- Frosty (6/5): - Fabulous location in the city. Near all major transit. Six euros from the airport. Room was super small but fine for one person. Pillows need updating. Sharp stairs need better lighting. Walls are super thin. Carpet could need a steam clean. Water was nice and hot. Fine for business.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Scary hotel manager assaults me - I was physically assaulted by the hotel manager, forcing me to call the police after my belongings were confiscated, or for being accused of having had an open window and potentially being smoking, however when the police arrived they gave me my belongings back and found no evidence of smoking in the room. When I told the police that I would like to register a complaint against the hotel manager I was told that I would have to go to the police station the next morning, although I have a early flight back home, needless to say I was unable to lodge the complaint directly
- Andrew (10/5): Nice location! - It was very good hotel. Would stay again
- Wayne (8/5): - Several things wrong with room. Overhead light did not work. Door made a loud scrapping noise every time it was opened
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Quite a good location, close to the museums and only a short walk to Leidseplein where you can catch a tram to the railway station.
On the flipside, a distinct waft of sewage smell from the bathroom floor drain and a sheet that barely covered the bed. If you can put up with those, then this hotel is yhe one for you. Otherwise, choose somewhere else!
- Zenee (8/5): Excellent very Safe Location - Good small hotel at the centre of LeidsPlein. Very close to 2 Tram Stops to go to Amsterdam Central. Nice short walk to 2 Museums and Park. Will stay again in this hotel. Happy to recommend it to anyone who is after a Budget Hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay - Nice hotel and great sized room, especially for the price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Functional - Provides all required if you plan to be out most of the time. Fine for sleep & bathroom.
- Eduardo (2/5): Do not stay here - This hostel should not be listed on hotels.com. Drunk people at all times of the day. It is dirty. Rooms smell bad. Sheets are nasty! Overall horrible experience!
- Payam (8/5): - Cool atmosphere
Good location
- John (8/5): Great staff make the difference - The rooms are all different, so our foursome had rooms of considerably different comfort levels for the same price. Mediocre bed pillows in both. Congenial and knowledgeable front desk staff who also supervise an excellent breakfast. Quiet neighborhood at night, great for sleeping. Close to Rijksmuseum and others.
- Jenny (8/5): Good location - It's easy to go anywhere on foot because the hotel is already in the city
- Jill (8/5): City centre hotel near museums - Quiet room on top floor. Comfortable bed. Unfortunately the TV didn't work and the sash window was held up by a block of wood!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was close to the museums and good restaurants nearby.
- katie (10/5): Perfect Location - The hotel was clean, in a great location, had an elevator, but SanJay was the perfect host. His customer servIce is on point. Breakfast in the morning was good as well. Also you can rent bikes right from the hotel. I’d definitely recommend staying here!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great crash pad - Smal hotel but efficient, not a boutique or luxury place but for the price and stars it is what you’ve expect.
- charles (8/5): - Bit of a trek to get to from Amsterdam Centraal but there are frequent trams. In a nice residential area and near canals. Best to pay in cash as they didn't like Visa so bear this in mind. Had en suite and perfect - personally prefer a duvet - couette - thought bed sheets had gone out of fashion but sadly not so was a tad cold in the night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - good value for location ..............................................................................................................
- Verified traveler (10/5): A pleasant stay - Pros:
Great location
Friendly staff and very helpful
Seamless check-in/out
Cons:
Single room was somehow tiny
- Fabiana (8/5): Nothing special, but good location and clean. - Room was extremely dim and somewhat dated. All the lights didn't even have bulbs. Definitely need more lighting in the room and could do with some updated bedding at the very least. Was clean enough. Walls thin and we were right next to an entrance door where you could hear people talking and coming and going at all hours. Tiny bathroom, but clean enough. Location is very good. I would say it is a bit over priced for what you get (Breakfast not included in price, and requires an additional payment). Wifi was out for several hours but they did call the technician and have it fixed, so that was good.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very expensive room for one person - some staff good and some dismissive and rude. I ended up with a double room with one pull out couch and not one place to hang clothes or put your suitcase. No proper bed. Very noisy room so slept badly - for almost 200 € a night I'd expect a bit more than the comment too bad Amsterdam is expensive. Never again there has to be better than this.
- Melanie (8/5): Clean and basic. Very helpful staff. - Very enjoyable. Hotel was central to where I need to go.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Room very clean.
- Chiranjib (8/5): - environment is nice, however, the room is small for two people
- Mickey (8/5): Nice simple hotel - Only for sleeping and bathroom.
The stuff are very nice.
The hotel is placed in a very good location.
- Nicole (10/5): Clean and comfortable! - Hotel is clean and comfortable. Check in and checkout was very easy. Walking distance to many bars and restaurants as well as local tram. 10 minute Uber to Amsterdam Centraal.
- Norman (2/5): This hotel could best be described as a hostel! - Room was the size of a closet. Noise from outside went on all night long...result...almost NO sleep.
Was scheduled for 3 night stay but left after first night. Was "penalized" by having to pay for one additional night...but...I am glad I left and found a much better hotel near Schiphol airport.
I can say...in my 10 week trip through Europe
...this was the WORST hotel I stayed at...BY FAR!!!
Would not recommend it to my worst enemy!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel Jupiter - Close to centre of city for easy access to tourist sites. Tiny room, very steep stairs, noisy patrons, staff not exactly friendly. But good location.
