Would stay again when passing through Milan.

Room wasn't anything to write home about but it wasn't bad and was fine for a week.

No hesitation recommending this hotel
- Mayte (10/5): - Gran servicio
- Sam (10/5): - Fantastic service, and a great location near the central station. The room was clean, cool, quiet and everything functioned well. Extremely friendly staff, and again, the location was top notch. Great value for the price. We will be back

- julio (10/5): - Everything was good, Mario is an amazing stuff member, the second night, we arrived late, the guy who opened the door for us got a little upset because we didn’t leave the keys, I explained that we didn’t know we supposed to leave the keys, the first night we also arrived late, it was a different person, but he didn’t get upset and never mentioned anything about leaving the keys. Not a big deal but I wish he didn’t react the way he did. Overall, positive experience and the breakfast is great.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Todella suppea aamupala. Ei juuri mitään mukavuuksia. Hinta/laatusuhde huono.
- Chito (10/5): - Walkable to the train station. The price is very reasonable.
Gare à 10mns a pied.
- alibroon (4/5): One night was one too many - Booked for one night as close to train station. One night was plenty. Accommodation is expensive in Milan and this was far too expensive for what we got.
Dated, tired, cramped room, tiny toilet, dark, noisy and a poor breakfast. Didn't want to spend any more time in here than we had to.
Convenient for our needs but wish we'd chosen somewhere else.
- Alasdair (4/5): Not worth the money - Very basic, glad it was only for one night. Stale smoke smell, dated room, very small. Poor breakfast.
Only saving grace was closeness to station. Very overpriced for quality but Milan is expensive.
1* hotel at best.
- EDUARDO (10/5): Excelente opção na cara Milão - Excelente localização, me senti seguro o tempo todo.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Basic and central - Nice and central
- Maria (8/5): Mitt i city - Litet hotell nära tågstationen. Fin service och god frukost. Trevlig personal. Mycket trafikljud så glöm inte öronproppar. Absolut prisvärt.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Central - Central
- Juan (6/5): - The room had all the basic appliances and the hotel personnel was friendly and helpful. The size of the rooms are adequate, so you have some mobility in there.
However, it would be great if the hotel update the rooms. In particular, the air conditioner was not working properly in my room and the bathroom had sewer smell.
- Silvia (6/5): - No elevator
- CLEONICE (10/5): - Recepçao excelente. Muito atenciosos. Quarto confortável. Café da manhã deixou a desejar,
- PAULINA ALEJDRA (10/5): - La estadía fue bastante tranquila y cómoda.
- Pascal (10/5): - Hotel is well located, very closed to Milan train Station, the bed is very comfortable. If you are looking for a Marriott style hotel than you are looking at the wrong place, but if you need just a place to sleep at the end of a long walking day, well this place fill the purpose!
- Karina (6/5): - It’s an okay property to stay for overnight or max 2 nights. No amenities, no air conditioning. The area itself doesn’t look safe, but we need not have any trouble arriving to the hotel around 7-8pm the latest. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, the only bad thing would be that you are limited to take a long shower since you only get a short time of hot water, and too much noise at night with cars people passing by it’s hard to get a good night sleep. The good thing is that you are about 10 minutes walking to Milan central train station
- Maxime (8/5): - A nice little quiet garden to relax after a day in Milan.
- Clara Luz (10/5): - Ubicación, desayuno, ambiente
- Javier (10/5): - Recomiendo
- Susan (6/5): - If you stay here, avoid staying on the ground floor, especially rooms 2, 7 and 8. They are very close to the front desk, which is noisy late into the night. The breakfast room is right there, too, and the clanging and banging of the espresso machine gets going early. Also, the hotel is on a busy road, so there is traffic going by constantly.
This a 2-star spot, so manage expectations accordingly. Plastic cups are provided, but if you use one, it will not be replaced. Conversely, bars of soap are fairly thrown at you, even if you only use one a few times.
The area is slightly sketchy, so keep your wits about you. Milano Centrale is easy walking distance (maybe 10 mins.), though, so it is convenient if you are taking trains.
- Jorge (10/5): - Spacious room. Clean room and lobby area.
- YorkPud (10/5): Milano - flying visit - Conveniently located close to Rail Station. Duomo Piazza is 4 stops/5 mins away by Metro and No.1 tram. A clean and quiet hotel, the staff are friendly and accommodating. I felt safe and comfortable as a solo female traveller. My en-suite room was spacious with a nice terrace. Wonderful buffet breakfast served in a relaxing garden. I would highly recommend this hotel.
- inabigcountry (10/5): Everything absolutely perfect - I really liked staying in this hotel. It was strategically located between the central station and the Corso Buenos Aires shopping street. The staff at the reception first of all were very friendly and helpful, the room was perfectly clean with brand new furniture. Despite being in the ground floor with a view of a traffic light, our sleep was comfortable and silent: the windows must be sound proofed because only when I opened them in the morning we could all the noise of the street, but nothing if they were closed. Breakfast in the room was just perfect, with croissant of our choice, capuccino, extra nutella, yogurts, fette biscottate and red orange juice. I would actually come back to this hotel if I have to stay in Milan again
- Javier (6/5): Not very comfortable; tiniest shower ever! - Felt more like a hostel than a hotel. Milan in general is kind of an ugly city. Literally only went to Milan to see da Vinci’s Last Supper. We were out of there after that. Only stayed one night.
- Leonardo (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Friendly hosts, nice terrace in back - Overall great stay at Salerno, room was basic but it had everything we needed for a couple of nights in Milan. Hosts are friendly, breakfast consisted of choice of coffee/tea, one pastry and toast, just enough to get you going. 9 min walk to Centrale.
- Verified traveler (8/5): I'll go back - Really close to the Centrale Station, great service, really comfy bed and shower, calm and nice!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice small hotel close to train station - Hotel 10 minutes walk from train station, very clean, breakfast was good, they made us a very good cappuccino... overall great place and location. Shower is a little small
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room wasn't fancy, but it was comfortable enough. The staff were helpful and let us leave our luggage before check-in and after check-out. Breakfast was good.I would consider staying here again if I visit Milan in the future.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The property did not have the amenities advertised.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location nice. Room doesnt have fridge breakfast poor night staff doesnt soeak English
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Central location, cleanliness, helpful staff, simple but fresh breakfast, safe environment and good espresso
- JT (6/5): - Good enough for a one night stay but nothing special. AC didn’t work in our room so maintenance seems to be an issue.
- EVANGELINA (10/5): - Very helpful staff!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to train station and center of Milan, rather good quality, nice little green yard behind.
- Robert (10/5): Joey Salerno, very recommended! - The hotel is in a very convenient area, walking distance from the Train Station (Milano Centrale)! The staff is extremely nice and trustworthy! Mario from reception was Amazing, and gave us directions to all places we requested!
The Metro station is near by and only 4 stops to the Duomo!
We enjoyed sitting in the hotel lovely back yard in which you also eat a magnificent breakfast!
Very recommended!
- Davju (6/5): Friendly staff, tired hotel - The hotel is only a 5/10 minute walk from Stazione Centrale along Via Vitruvio. As for many cities the immediate area of a major railway station is not the most attractive and the hotel doesn’t look much from the outside.
The front desk staff are friendly though, especially as I speak no Italian, they were patient and helpful. The common areas and my room were very clean but the room itself is a bit tired, for example the bathroom door looked like it had been water damaged and the bottom of it was held together with sticky tape.
Air conditioning worked effectively and I had a lovely little balcony with a view of the courtyard (where breakfast is available).
I’d actually stay there again, the location is really handy and the attitude of the staff was first class.
- Samantha (6/5): Okay stay - The hotel is close to the central train station but the biggest downside was the lack of proper air conditioning.... it was pretty bad especially being so hot outside.
- Ali (8/5): Everything was good - Location was grate , staff was helpful and kindness , excellent breakfast,
- Michelle (6/5): - This was the worst hotel of our trip to Italy. Very basic. No luxuries here
- Thomas (8/5): - Location close to train station with good restraraunts within walking distance. Small room with minimum amenities. Breakfast good.
- PrestonGuild (6/5): Good hotel for the Central station - We had to extend our stay in Milan and had to book this hotel at the last minute. We had to pay higher than the normal rate because of it. We needed a budget hotel near Centrale station as we would be leaving early in the morning.
Check in was quick, all our details were there as we booked online. We had to pay the tourist tax upfront and were given the old fashioned key to the room.
We booked the last available room which was just a few steps up on the ground floor. The advantage was that we did not have to take our luggage up the flights of stairs. The hotel has no lifts and I could see the staff struggling to take up heavy suitcases.
The disadvantage is that on the ground floor you can hear the noises from the metro or the trams even early in the morning.
This is a three star hotel. Our room was basic but quiet big. We actually had a double bed and a single bed. There was a very small LCD tv attached to a sky box.
There was a wardrobe with a small safe. It was all basic suitable for a 3 star hotel. The room was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable.
Our room faced the back of the hotel, we could open the door that would lead out to the small back garden, useful in the summer.
We had a small bathroom, it could be a bit of a squeeze. It had a WC, bidet, sink and a shower cubicle which was a little tight.
Toiletries included soap, shampoo, body wash and toothbrush and toothpaste.
We had breakfast included which you had to go downstairs. It was a basic serve yourself affair. Croissants of different fillings, tea and coffee from a pot. Yoghurts, bread that you can toast. For the price it was ok, cheaper than going to a cafe where you would pay more for a 2 cups of coffee and a croissant.
The location was important. You can walk to the train station in about 10 minutes. We needed to get the bus to the airport. You can also get to the underground station.
There are several places to eat nearby and you can walk to Corso Buenos Aires in a few minutes. It is a long road with branded stores, fast food and other restaurants.
This is a good hotel if you expect nothing fancy, get it cheap and want to be located near the train station.
There are 2 star hotels nearby but this one was better.
- Pedrita (6/5): - Noisy night and day because of street traffic
Flush flows continuasly
- Azharshakir (6/5): Okayish - Had to opportunity to stay in this hotel for a night.
Positives
+ The location was good.
+ The room was clean.
+ We could walk down from Milan Cathedral in 40 minutes time.
+ Walk to Milano Centrale takes about 7-8 minutes
+ Hot water for drinking was available from the reception even during early hours.
Negatives
- I had higher expectations after reading reviews
- The room was pretty basic
- The bed quality was poor
- The hangers in the room were broken are were made with binding wire
- Small TV almost at roof level
- Air conditioning was switched off
- Mosquito problem
- No lift in the hotel and have to carry heavy bags to the rooms in the first floor
- Breakfast starts only at 7.30 am, but we had to leave by a train at 7.20 am. Hence we skipped the breakfast, even though we had paid for it
- Gerald (10/5): - Great stay!
- Gustavo (4/5): - nice facilities and good breakfast. However, the AC did not work. It looks that the owner wants to save money and just turning it on few hours during day.
- Predrag (10/5): Comfortable and clean (good for longer stay) - In the area of Corso Buenos Aires, 20 minutes of slow walk from Central Station (count dragging the luggage in!), nice rooms, clean and spacious, friendly staff, 24 hours reception, good choice of TV channels, air condition was great.
- Soenderiis (10/5): Nice and clean - Lucky choice in the last moment, but it turned out to be good one.
Room is spacious, good choice of channels on TV.
Clean room, no bugs here.
The bathroom - as almost always in Italy - bigger than most rooms in other countries (bidet, complimentary shampoos, shower caps).
Friendly staff, and 24 hours open desk so you do not have to lock yourself in in late hours like a burglar.
Location is great, couple of minutes from Lima metro station, and ca. 20 minutes of slow walk with your luggage from Milan Central Station, where you will probably arrive by bus shuttle.
For late dinner there are several touristic, but fairly good and affordable places in Corso Buenos Aires street - where Lima metro station lies.
Via Vetruvio is busy street, with tram line, so prepare for city noise. I didn't mind it.
I recommend family pastry shop Matria Vailati in the same street (on number 51).
- Rebecca M (10/5): Would come back again and again - This was a great hotel for an affordable stop-over in Milan. The reception area and staircases are beautiful, and that really helps set the tone. The room is very standard for Milan. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. I like the early check-in and the reasonable check-out hour. I have to stay for a night in Milan about monthly, and for the price, I would keep coming back to Hotel Salerno.
- Dalli394 (8/5): Nice Location - Room was in tip top condition which offered alot of goodies including a mini toothpaste and toothbrush. The location is excellent, which is just a 5 minute walk from the Milan underground. Breakfast was very limited but still offers the basics including croissants, bread, tea / coffee and more.Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Only stayed for 1 night. Will definitely recommend it for the price.
- C (6/5): Nice Staff, Don't Buy the Breakfast - The location was good, but when we got to the hotel we wondered "Is this what over a hundred bucks
a night gets you in Milan?" Maybe it is.
The room was small and outdated. There appeared, at first, not to be a window, but there was one, down the hallway next to the tiny bathroom. It was quite loud - you could hear everyone coming and going up and down the stairs. No fridge. And don't buy breakfast, unless you like buns in a bag. Buy coffee elsewhere.
- mvg162016 (10/5): short break - A small, quiet and clean hotel. Everything functioning properly. Feels like home. Receptionists ready to help in all circumstances. They offered to take up our luggage the few steps to our room. Brought me liquid detergent to remove a big ice cream stain on my jacket and even went out of their way to make breakfast earlier for us on day of departure! Good breakfast. It's located in the centre of a shopping area. We'll definitely stay here again when visiting Milan.
- Vicki (8/5): Convenient for train riders. - We really liked the little patio we waited in while the room was readied for us. We were in a room close to the reception and it was quite noisy.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Don't recommend it - The room wasn't clean. We found hair in our blanket.
Breakfast was poor too.
No elevator.
Location was good, next to central station.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel in the heart of Milan - We walked from the train station- it was a bit farther than we anticipated. The closer we got we started seeing graffiti and wondered. However we felt safe and people were helpful in directing us to the hotel. The lobby and hotel were nice - plenty of marble and well kept. The room was nice and clean. There was a lot of street noise and were concerned about how that would be for sleeping. Magically it all goes away. There must be a noise curfew. The breakfast room was well supplied in the morning and just what we needed before our train trip to Sorento.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Generally comfortable hotel with close access to train station and metro. We were awoken early one morning due to construction.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This was a nice hotel for my quick stopover in Milan. Just a ten minute walk from Central train station and near a few other metro stops.
- rach020712 (6/5): Nothing special, but fine - This hotel was what we needed for 2 nights in Milan. It was clean and near the train station, perfect for us. However the wi-fi connection was poor and the breakfast a little disappointing as there was very little choice and ran out very quickly.
- sps04 (6/5): Stay here if you want to be close to Milano centrale train station. No lift!!! - We chose this hotel as it is 10 min walk from milano centrale station and we had to do day trip to venice and florence plus we were flying out of Milan so we booked this hotel
Please note the hotel DOES NOT HAVE A LIFT. We got to know when we arrived and luckily they allotted a room on the ground floor and we still had to climb few steps up and down to get to the room but it was ok.
Decent room with clean bathroom. The breakfast was the same everyday and we were hardly there for the breakfast.
If you are flying out of Milano airport, please take the train instead of the buses.I was recommended by one of the locals to opt for train and not bus.
Overall, good place to stay if you can climb the stairs with heavy bags
- Mary (6/5): Close to train station and metro - Although it is close to the train station, with our bags we took a taxi and it cost 10 euros coming and 9 euros going. The hotel is not handicap accessible. They assigned us a room with the least amount of steps, and every staff person except one always assisted me up and down them. The breakfast is held down two flights of stairs. After the first day, my husband brought me back a tray. The bathroom was very small; difficult for a handicapped person.
- SPVeloce52 (6/5): Cheap & Chearful - A last minute booking, that just needed to be near Milan Central Station. This offered B&B for € 54 a night..The room was on the back, clean, warm and quite.
I liked the breakfast with a selection of croissants and enough other things to set you for the day.
Overall I felt that was good value and better than I expected.
- 824barrettr (6/5): Good mid-range hotel for short stay in Milan, near train sta - 12 min walk from central train sta, a real plus for us. Long way to sights of central Milan, but the proprietor gave us VG advice and we walked one block to metro stop, easily bought tickets, and in 6 min (4 stops) we were at the duomo. Beds comfy. Bfast buffet of cereal, juice, pastries, ham, cheese, etc fine. Lots of restaurants around it.
- ROBERT (8/5): Comfortable on a budget - Ideal for access to Central Railway station.
- riokew (10/5): Excellento!!! - Good customer service - nice staff. Tried as much as possible to accomodate to guests needs. Clean rooms. Unrestricted decent breakfast - fresh. WiFi available. Very good location and close to transport. On the same street as Milano Centrale station and very close to the high street and markets. Close to restaurants. Easy to get to Milan Centre. Had a wonderful time and would stay here again. Went in April 2014 but have been unable to give review, however felt the good service of the hotel deserved a review. We were impressed.
- 459dmitrym (10/5): Small yet very good hotel - Small but cozy hotel with a breakfast in the garden.
I think this one is perfect for young couples.
Location is convenient as well (30 min walk to Duomo).
Rooms are minimalistic but everything you needed is there.
Breakfast could have little bit more in variety, but it is fine.
