Whilst check in and breakfast are at a nearby hotel rather than on site, it’s not far away and the staff are super friendly. The room was great, very clean and had a great view from the balcony. There is also a little shared room with a coffee machine & complimentary biscuits.

Maid service was good. Balcony was beautiful. Location was central. Complimentary cookies and coffee was a nice touch. Negatives: AC didn't work well. I could open the doors to the balcony which cooled the room down, but our square was very busy with music and singing until late at night (which is charming until you're trying to sleep). So you either dealt with the room being warm or the noises of the night. Overall we had a positive experience. I would recommend.

• Santiago (10/5): - The room was very nice, clean, and with a very convenient location. Staff was nice in explaining how everything worked with access to the property. It is important to note check in is not in the same place as the property, so you will need to walk after check in to the property. It's a short walk, and not a big deal, but just have this in mind it that's an issue for you. Other than that, it is really a very good place to stay. The bed was comfortable, had a nice little balcony, a small safe, and there was free coffee. Would stay again.
• matthew (10/5): - Very excellent B&B. The location is basically unbeatable, the breakfast was amazing-although served in a different building 200m away. There was an elevator, which worked almost the whole time. I absolutely recommend, and I will absolutely stay again.
• Sylvia (6/5): - This property is located in the center part of Firenze, within 5-10 minutes walk to most attraction sites you want to visit in town. The room is in good condition and clean. Something I dislike about this place: (1) check in/out location isn’t the same as the BnB, I had a taxi dropped me off outside the BnB but only found out you have to walk to another hotel to check in and come back to the BnB with my suitcase back and forth (this can be tiring and troublesome for some people); (2) the breakfast is not complimentary. Before my arrival, I received a welcome message from the property manager also mentioned the breakfast will be served at the 7th floor of Hotel Signoria (they didn’t mentioned there is a fee for it) and I took that as a complimentary breakfast. I only found out on my check out date that they charged me 15 Europe for the breakfast. With the same price you can have much better breakfast at a decent cafe. I highly suggest you skip their breakfast. It’s overpriced and it didn’t taste that good; (3) this place gets noisy at night. There are people (probably drunken individuals) yelling out or speaking out very loud at night (after 11pm). Also, the trash truck also picking up trash and making super loud noise after midnight. This is not the property’s fault, but if you are a light sleeper, please avoid this property and find another accommodation.

• Colin (2/5): - On entry to the room everything was ok. Although it was supposed to be a two bed room. The second room, was a small living room with a sofa bed and no door, that led to the en-suite. As we are one family it was fine! One of the curtains were hanging down and shining light through. Also neither tv’s had a reception. We mentioned this to reception. Their reply was that maintenance did not work on Sunday’s but they would sort out. (Ok) No action was taken during the remainder of our stay. But the issue with the bathroom. Which we complained and no action was taken. Is totally unacceptable, both the shower and sink were blocked and very quickly overflowed. The plug had been removed from the sink. So I assume it had been a problem before? With regards to the shower. There was soap and hair backfilling into the shower tray. After the third person in the room had used the shower it was flooding onto the floor. Also, the door handle kept pulling off the door and made difficult to close. Paying 800 euros for a 4 night stay. Iam very disappointed and look forward to hearing from you. Colin Clover

• Carol (10/5): Repubblica close to Ponte Vecchio - They email the location for check in about 2 blocks away from the rooms. So be ready for that. The Repubblica B&B was good. The free breakfast is two blocks away on a rooftop. Breakfast was great and beautiful view.
• david (6/5): room is too hot - The room was hot. We asked for a fan, but they didn't have one. The air conditioner was not adequate to cool the entire room. The upstairs bedroom got very hot and was difficult to sleep in. lt was also confusing to get the key. I didn't know there wouldn't be anyone on site. It was not a smooth check in for that reason. The location is good. The front desk people were friendly and accommodating.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Very friendly staff - I booked a room with bb. However, the Hotels.com sent the information to the Repubblika B&B indicating bb is not indicated. During my 5 days stay there, Hotels.com had not resolved the problem. HOWEVER, staff from Repubblika B&B offered us free bb everyday. The room is spacious, modern, clean and quite. It is physically on the plaza. During weekend, the plaza is busy till late at night. But inside the room, the noise level is around 25-28dB. It is quite.

Of course our room was directly across from entry door. Avoid this room. The other thing that was bothersome was the lights from the room thermostat and heater. We wore face masks and earplugs. Breakfast was delicious! Friendly consierge. Newly renovated room. Clean!
• Lisa (4/5): Centrally located, but difficult to check in. - The hotel itself is in an ideal location. Right on Republic Square, just down the street from the Ponte Vecchio. However, the check-in is located at a different hotel on a very small side street, which we found difficult to find. We had a lovely balcony overlooking the street. It was very noisy at 1:30 and 2:00 am. The room itself had just recently been renovated, and was very comfortable. Everything is brand new. However, there was no hot water for the shower.

• Helen (6/5): Not really a traditional B&B - There is nobody on site - check in is done at another hotel a couple of blocks away. Without a person on site - you do not get any help with questions about the city. Also, if you need anything - there is nobody to ask. The breakfast is served late (8:30 to 10:00). There are only a handful of rooms in this facility. There is a small lift so the second floor location was not a problem.

• Kevin (6/5): So so - Great location. Problem was that the manager is not on site. Reception is two blocks away in another hotel, so check in was confusing and difficult with luggage. No one on site to assist with local transportation or recommendations. Our shower door came off the track one night and no one could fix it till morning. Also the beds and pillows were very hard and uncomfortable. Having said that. It is in a perfect location and Julia, the girl who cleans and sets breakfast, was lovely and very helpful in the morning when she there.

Only drawback for some people may be the noise from people roaming the plaza late at night. Room was spacious, very comfortable, clean, very good a/c and largest shower of all hotels we stayed in Europe. Only drawbacks were very slow WiFi, TV in bedroom not fully functional, and B&B rooms located in separate building from hotel building so there is no lobby or front desk attendant at the B&B building.
• Paulo (10/5): Happy stay - I am very happy with Piccolo Trevi suites. The room is comfortable, spacious and it has free WiFi. The staff is friendly. Make sure to communicate your arrical date and time to ensure that there will be someone to check you in for there's not a 24 hour reception to host guests. The location is excellent, steps away from Fontana di Trevi.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful hotel! Fantastic employees! - This is a delightful little B+B with only a few rooms. Our room (a suite and the largest room) overlooked the Piazza della Repubblica. Be warned that it's noisy until late at night from the square, but I slept right through it with ear plugs. It's less than a five minute walk to the Uffizi, the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, etc. The large, 4 poster bed was wonderful, as was the bed in the other room. There's no door between the rooms but it still felt private. The shower was very nice. The AC worked great. The breakfast was nice. The employees, especially a woman from Japan, were wonderful! Only (minor)hassle is that there isn't 24 hr employees present so you have to lock and unlock the door with your own key, and there is only one key to share with your family. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

• Peter (8/5): Great, Central place to stay in Florence - Great B&B/hotel, right on the plaza. Our room looked out over it and the main arch and carousel. Service was wonderful. Free breakfast in the morning. Every main attraction within 15 min walk from Duomo to Uffizi. Great restaurants downstairs. Was only in for one night, but would book again. Is loud at night with music, people, etc - but we had no issues with it. Wonderfully appointed rooms.

The reception area had a strange smell like mildew or something like old cleaning towels were being used on the floors or something like that.The wifi did not work for the first day and half we were there and the staff did their best with it and got it working . For the price we paid I do not think it is a choice we will make in the future.

The hotel has great sound insulation though so you will still get a restful night of sleep. There is also a wonderful woman by the name of Atsuko who works the front desk. She kindly provided great suggestions, directions and arranged reservations for dinner to ensure your stay was as pleasant as possible. She truly made our stay enjoyable there. I would not hesitate in choosing to stay there again.

Breakfast choice was generous. Enjoyed the buzz from the square which always had something going on but the double glazing was efficient enough to shut it out if the windows were closed. Easy walking distance to the central, historic part of Florence. Lots of shops and restaurants as well as museums and churches. Perfect for a few days holiday.

• Shannon (10/5): Great B&B, perfect location - Repubblica B&B is fantastic. The price is very reasonable and the accommodation is comfortable and clean. The location is perfect, you are close to all the sights, easy walking to the most popular sites in Florence. It's close to the train station as well. Our room was clean and well stocked and the beds were comfy. The rooms all open onto a small balcony above one of the main streets off the Plazza Repubblica. The staff are wonderful to work with. They gave us directions, booked tickets for us etc. The breakfast assortment was great, lots of options for everyone's preferences. We thoroughly enjoyed our time ar the Repubblica B&B. I highly recommend staying here!
• Ray (6/5): Great location. - This BB has pros and cons. The location is amazing on a busy square. Perfect for eating and shopping. Our room faced the square which was great during the day with the windows open BUT very hard to sleep at night with the busy foot traffic leaving the bars, etc. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was nice. The only downside was the smell that seemed to come from the drain if we left the door closed. We kept the exhaust fan on to fix the issue. The only major problem was the wifi issue. It went down every day. The staff was extremely helpful and apologetic but it was hard to get our work done and communication back home when we needed it. If you want location and convienence it's perfect, but remember the staff leaves around 6:00 and your on your own. If you're expecting to be pampered by "hotel" staff then it's not for you. If your pretty self sufficient and want to be left alone then it's perfect. Great location. Central location.

Our room overlooked the lively Piazza della Repubblica; with it's charming carousel and variety of live music, I can't even imagine a more ideal location. Even though it was chilly outside, we opened our Piazza facing window to take in the sounds of the bustling town square. Walk 2 minutes one way and you're at the Piazza del Duomo, 2 minutes the other way and you're at the Piazza della Signoria. Chiara was fantastic (as was the entire staff); we did everything she recommended! If we're fortunate enough to return to Florence, this is where we'll stay!

Great location to all the major in-town attractions however bring your earplugs- lots of late night neighbor noises! Could use some fans for white noise effect.
• Barry (10/5): Fabulous hotel, location and friendly service - I was a bit apprehensive by the entryway, as it is up a flight of stairs. But once inside the lobby, it is fabulous. There was a wonderful and very helpful young lady checking us in and who provided local restaurant tips and neighborhood suggestions to walk. The room was ultra clean, spacious and comfortable. They even placed a small Christmas tree inside. I will absolutely return.
• Bowden (8/5): Location, Comfort, Awesome. - Was a really great stay. The location is incredible! I highly recommend this as a place to stay. It took a little while to find it (Just a hint, it's not where it says on Google maps, if you're standing looking into the Plaza it's on your right behind the restaurants.) But you can't pick a better position and a great place. Breakfast was delightful too. Highly recommended!
• Helene (8/5): A true gem in the heart of Florence - This small hotel's strength lies in its front of house staff, especially Ciara, who was extremely welcoming and helpful! We stayed here for five nights and then went onto stay in a luxury hotel in another location - the staff, customer service and breakfast was infinitely better at Repubblica. The aircon had a problem and was fixed on the same day.
• Gwendolyn (10/5): Highly Recommended! - My friend and I were impressed with this gem of a Bed and Breakfast! We were impressed with the lovely people in charge. They were always so pleasant and helpful to guide us with any questions related to our stay and how to be assured of a great experience. The room was spacious and quite comfortable. Each day we enjoyed the breakfast selections and opportunity to chat with other guests. This place will definitely be one on our list for a return visit!

• Judith (10/5): Wonderful B&B in Florence, Italy - This ia a wonderful B & B in the heart of Florence. It is withing walking distance to all the sights, yet tucked away on a quiet floor of a building. The rooms are large with individual temperature controls. We had a small balcony and view. The buffet breakfast had much variety and a great cappaccino machine. The woman who welcomed us when we arrived gave us a map and excellent suggestions for places to go and authentic (not tourist) places to eat. This is a great place to stay in Florence!
• Achala (10/5): Best B&B in Firenze! - BB Repubblica is located about a 10 min walk from the main train station and in the middle of the city center. The location is ideal for travelers utilizing Italy's railway transportation system to get around Italy - which I highly recommend as well because most of Italy's major tourist cities aren't car friendly. The room was very clean and quiet. Even better the AC worked extremely well!! This is a huge plus because Italians aren't keen on cold rooms. After walking around town in 90 degree weather it was nice to come back to a cold room.

The square had lots of activities and the room had a balcony to enjoy the scenes below. The room was spacious and nicely updated. The staff were very helpful in helping us get to the places we requested. I'd highly recommend this place and would definitely stay there again.
• Sonia (10/5): Highly recommended - We loved this hotel, in a great location and convenient to all the attractions. Lovely helpful staff and very clean and comfortable. A big tick from us for having tea and coffee making facilities - the only place in the whole of our Italy trip to provide. This hotel is on the 3rd floor - but do not be discouraged, it does not distract from the place. Only negative, this hotel was really hard to find as the sign on the front of the building was tiny.

• Hong Liang (8/5): Excellent hotel - The hotel is situated in an excellent location, close to shops and the room that I had faced the Repubblica square which I had a good view. The room was big, comfy and very nicely decorated. Only thing was breakfast was rather plain, but the croissants were fantastic. If breakfast was improved it will be a 5.
• Matthew (10/5): Centrally located - Comfortable room. Complimentary water bottles. Front desk speaks English. Good breakfast, Nespresso machine. Tip- any hotel in Italy, bring ear plugs. You can hear noise through the door from the hallways.
• Cal (8/5): Nice little B&B! - We had a nice stay there. Although very difficult to find. It is a 15 minute walk or a three minute taxi ride from the train station. We choose to walk and no one seemed to know where it was. Even the policeman, waiters in restaurants next door, etc. It's in a building that houses another hotel, a dental office, etc. but once we found it, everything worked out fine. The room was nice, the breakfast was good, the staff was polite. It's very convenient and an easy walk to all the historical sites, etc. We would stay there again.

Great surprise that the rooms have been completely updated-wonderful with a separate sleeping area for our daughter. Rocco was so helpful. Highly recommend staying here.

• geraldine (8/5): Very, very nice. - This hotel is located on Piazza Repubblica which for us, is the best place to be in Florence. The Duomo to the right, the Arno River to the left, three blocks from the designer shopping area. We stay near Repubblica every time we go to Florence. This is the first time at this hotel and we were very happy with the room. At first, we weren't sure because walking into the second floor entrance of the hotel, we felt as if we were walking into an office. It didn't look like a hotel, but our room was very large with high ceilings, good bathroom and a balcony with a small table and two chairs overlooking the busy street. We loved that. If was very quiet at when the doors were closed. The complimentary breakfast was adequate and the owners are very nice. We would definitely stay again.
