Guest Reviews
- Alessia (8/5): Consigliato. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo. - Buon rapporto qualità prezzo. Buona la colazione, servita in camera. Personale gentile e disponibile a tutte le ore. Posizione centralissima.
- Philip (2/5): Criminals - Congratulations, Barberini... Despite my best efforts to prevent it, you managed to scam me. When I first booked, they sent me an e-mail trying to upgrade me which is against hotels.com policy. when I refused, they all pretended that they didn't speak English. Hours of phone arguments later, and I didn't have to pay for the upgrades for the rooms.
However, they DID charge me €7 PER PERSON PER ROOM PER NIGHT CITY FEE EVEN THOUGH THE WEBSITE CLEARLY STATES THAT IT IS €3.50. unfortunately, it was late at night and I didn't verify it at the time. They just demanded the money when we came back from seeing Rome all day. I was tired. I was trusting. I was robbed.
The made-to-order breakfast is simply a piece of paper in which you have to tell them the night before what you want and they drop it off in your room. We were leaving at 8:00 the next morning so we couldn't get breakfast because they wouldn't deliver it that early. It was cheap, prepackaged, and dry.
Finally, what they don't tell you is that the entryway looks like the back alley of a mechanic. It was dirty, creepyz and ancient.
Oh, and "suites" is completely misleading.
So again, congratulations... You managed to scam me on the extra fees. Next year when we bring the students back to Rome, we will definitely stay elsewhere.
- Marcos (6/5): It's an acceptable option - The room where I stayed in needs renovation, specially the bathroom.
The staff was always very friendly and helpful during my stay.
The location is very good, being well served by bus lines, what was crucial during my stay since the nearest metro station (Barberini) was out of operation. It's also good to be aware that the B&B is on the first floor of a building that is on a very busy street. The windows work well blocking the noise, but that means keeping them always closed.
I don't think the cost benefit was the best, so it would not be my first choice for a new stay in Rome, but It's an acceptable option for a short stay.
* It was a 7 nights stay in standard double room.
- Jean-Louis (8/5): - Petit dej sympa
Chambre Hyper clame
Très bien
- NATIG (10/5): - Perfect!
- Patrick (10/5): - Friendly staff nice bed & breakfast hotel
- Jean (10/5): - Excellente location, personnel accueillant, bon dejeuner
Excellent rapport qualité/prix
- heather (8/5): Excellent Stay! - What a wonderful place to stay! The staff was extra friendly and spoke English. I was warmly greeted every morning when I left for the day and every evening when I returned. The room was clean and centrally located. Thanks everyone!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Breakfast was nicely served to the room... - Great stay! Good location!!
Airport pick up service was great. Driver, Bruno was very kind enough to explain about Rome on the way.
We enjoyed the bathtub after the long day walk, but the shower head should be replaced, even though hot water supply was no problem...Liked the breakfast served to the room, but it starts only after 8 am
- Clifford (8/5): - Convenient location but it showing its age. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Store rom
- Dan (6/5): - Some staff not friendly breakfast basic, room and bathrooms need urgent upgrading. Upside location.
- Dan (6/5): - Room and bathrooms needs upgrading breakfast needs a change from sweet breakfast every moring. Location is good
- ANA RITA C (8/5): Boa localização - Localização excelente,
Recebi o que comprei. Nada a reclamar.
- Jennifer (4/5): - Bathrooms were clean and seemed upgraded compared to the rest of the room and hotel. Staff was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately the beds were very uncomfortable.
- Lori (2/5): Great Location, Lousy Service - Do not book this hotel. It advertises free cooked to order breakfast but it is not. It is a continental breakfast only, consisting of croissants and cookies, tea, coffee, juice. They only start serving breakfast, in your room, at 8AM. You can't have any early tours, they make no accommodations. It was about 90 degrees outside and the air conditioning in the rooms were sub par. We had a hard time sleeping it was so warm. The lift was not working on our departure, they offered no assistance to help get our luggage down all of the steps. My husband has 2 bad knees and my son had a injured back.
- Wai Keong (10/5): - Great location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved breakfast in room.Very nice staff. GREATlocation...mo val
- LEA (10/5): - Excellent location, close to all places. The reception clerk, Alexander was very kind.
- silvia (8/5): ottimo - Personale alla reception gentile e disponibile, camere ampie, colazione servita in camera.
- Simona (8/5): - Posizione strategica, camere confortevoli e pulite e personale estremamente gentile e disponibile
- Verified traveler (10/5): Soggiorno consigliato.
- Insulted (2/5): They actually insulted me - I wouldn't have taken the time to write a review but the receptionist took the time to write me a very rude email and screamed at us on the phone. The room was gross and nothing worked, but they went too far in actually insulting and harassing me. He will probably respond with some insults too, so beware if you somehow decide to stay here.
Men väljer nog något annat nästa gång.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfetto tutto ok - Tutto perfetto moto moto bene ottimi I consigli suite dive mangiare veramente fantastici
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location! - We loved the area and the proximity to Trevi Fountain and the great restaurants around there. We thought the bathroom in our room was a little quaint with an footed bathtub and hand-held shower but no shower curtain!
Breakfast served in the room was a treat and all staff were very nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel with a great location. - We had a very good check-in with a bunch of information from Alejandro. When we told him that we wanted to go to see the aqueducts he looked them up on the internet and provided detailed instructions on how to get there. The hotel is very central and we walked to the Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, Colosseum and shopping stores. The breakfast was served on time and hot. My kids especially loved the bathtub.
- Verified traveler (8/5): loved it - great spot, close to transport and all that is 'happening'
- talia (4/5): small old and inconvenient - Very small, old, and uncomfortable for the price. The elevator is extremely small you can barely fit especially if traveling with suitcases this is not the place for you. Very small rooms with an okay size bathroom but very small shower. The bed takes up almost the whole room. Comes With a "breakfast" although it is brought to your room there is no dining area to sit and eat normally. The breakfast is yougurt, crossiant, or a few other small options including coffee.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - hotel confortevole ed accogliente. personale gradevole.
- ANTONIO (8/5): Hotel pulito e economico - OTTIMA POSIZIONE CENTRALISSIMO VICINISSIMO FERMATA METRO BARBERINI
CAMERE PULITE COLAZIONE SERVITA IN CAMERA
PERSONALE GENTILISSIMO E MOLTO DISPONIBILE
- Tobias (4/5): Nedslidt, men fin beliggenhed - Hotellet lå godt.
- Micol (8/5): Hotel economico e in centro.
Ci tornerei.
- ronen (10/5): - חוויה נפלאה
- Maximiliano (6/5): Buen lugar. Ubicación excelente - El hotel muy bien ubicado. Instalaciones renovadas.
- Fima (6/5): A typical small Italian hotel - The room was pretty, but too small for three people. The hotel clerk was friendly and check-in was easy. The three beds were pushed close to each other a difficult to access. Big bathroom, but with bathtub with hand-held shower head but no shower curtain - each person showering flooded the bathroom. Getting luggage up to the 2nd floor reception area was difficult as the elevator was barely big enough for 1 person and you had to go up stairs to access it. The hotel is right off Barbarini Plaza with taxi and bus service and cafes close by. Spanish Steps about a 10-min walk. The one item that really aggravated was a chain-smoking chambermaid.
- Pasquale (4/5): - I stayed at this hotel for two nights. This is more of a bed and breakfast rather than an hotel.
It is located from walking distance to the Coliseum and the Trevi fountain and a few hundred yards away from a metro station. The room was in very poor condition with wall paper old and thorn from some places the twin bed was about two feet from the door the bathroom sink was hard to get to as the bidee
was right in front of it and made it very unconfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wonderful experience. Location very good.Wish we had more days to explore around.
- Nicolas (10/5): Totalmente recomendable. Volvería sin fudarlo - Todo estuvo muy bien
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean in a good location nice staff - Very good price for room in great location. WAlk to everything. Good restaurants and shopping area. Front desk very helpful However Not there overnight. You have keys,to access unit at night from the street. Very clean comfortable in an old building central rome. Nice breakfast included.
- mario (10/5): muy conformes - exelente
- Verified traveler (2/5): terrible - No Tv,Air conditioning,
No breakfast room
Nobody at the front desk after 4 pm
Ask for bread and I was told they never
Serve bread for the breakfast.
Worst stay in Rome
- Luis (10/5): Friendly Hotel - Nice hotel, very good ubication, near important monuments, frendly staff, good choise
- Ritu (8/5): Nice hotel, very central - The hotel was very central to main attractions. Bus stop right outside the hotel. The rooms were very clean. The hotel staff were nice and even printed out our boarding passes for free.
- Al (10/5): Perfect stay, great staff and nice neigborhood! - Great place to stay with the family. Very nice neighborhood, we could walk to most tourist attractions, diner, etc.. Alessandro and the front desk team were excellent. They were a great resource, very informative and friendly. The hotel arranged our airport drop off in a nice private vehicle that cost less than we arranged ourselves on the way in in a shared van. In room breakfast was perfect and great way to start our day.
Thank you for a great Roman Holiday!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Barberini Suites - We stayed at the Barberini Suites in Rome from 6/18-6/21/15. It is in a good location and easy to get to by bus or metro. The front sign is small for identification but we looked at the location before the trip on Google maps. Our room was good, the breakfast was fine and the front desk staff were helpful with directions and bus schedules. We would stay here again.
- vivian (8/5): Easy walk to many attractions - We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very clean and the staff was pleasant to deal with. Very easy check-in and check-out. The bed was very comfortable. We walked to many of Rome's well known attractions.
- Alejandro (8/5): Great location, comfortable stay - We loved our stay, the location is great, we ended up walking to most places as everything was nearby. The only problem we had was that the room was too hot and the AC couldn't be used outside Summer time. We were better after opening the window and drinking some complimentary water from the minibar.
- Lucy (10/5): Great hotel! - Had such a great stay! The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the room was a great start to the day! Great location in walking distance to tourist attractions. AC was ok, more of a fan, but didn't really make a difference. Showering in the tub gave a full European experience! Would return back on another trip
- Chad (8/5): Three days in Rome - This place was wonderful. Central to most everything we aimed at seeing, and even the Vitican wasn't a bad walk. Trevi fountain is two corners and man ally-way away, (or so it seemed) and the cappuccino with breakfast delivered to the room in the mornings was awesome.
- pat (4/5): Could be a good hotel if it fixed things - Air conditioning not good, wifi completely rediculous , ripped wall cover throughout suite in many places
- mimi (4/5): Rooms 4 rent with a front desk. - There a no amenities, only a front desk and a hall that takes you to the rooms.
Reception is left alone on the afternoon so theres is no one to assit you when something is needed.
- jim (8/5): great location - I had a great time In Rome
the people at the hotel were very helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel
- 2 travellers (6/5): Nice and comfortable place. - Although a lovely little hotel there are a few issues. Firstly the air con needs looking at, even set at 15 degrees the room would not cooling down. Secondly, you are presented with a number of keys to get you into the building, 1) and outer main door. 2) swipe card and key to get past the large gates, 3) hotel door key 4) room key. I was just worried about what would happen if I lost them. It's a little strange that there is no one at the location until the morning ( no one on reception).
There are no lifts, which is fairly usual for the hotels in Rome but this hotel is on the second floor so it's not too bad if you have luggage. Breakfast is lovely, served to your room.
- Kirill (10/5): great location and good price! - great location and good price!I stayed in Condotti 29 it is a second part of the hotel
- Rob (10/5): Cute little hotel - A great and well priced little hotel, right on the doorstep of the tube and v. close to major attractions, with a good breakfast. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very bad! - A/C did not work on a very hot and humid Rome night. The lady at the front desk said to put it at 18 degrees and not 15 but of course it did not help. Very old furnitures and fixtures. Very hard to find, even with a GPS. No parking, you have to park a few minutes walk and it adds about 20 euro to your stay. Also, it's a problem with the luggage since the hotel side of the street is for buses only so you're not allowed there and there is no where to stop to unload. The only good thing is the location which is close to the Spanish steps and fontana di trevi but other than that look elsewhere.
- Dave (10/5): Perfect night stay for 2 in Roma - Very pleasant staff. Breakfast is served at your door! (you just need to fill out what you want the night prior). Room was very spacious for me & my wife. We stayed in a double sized bed, which would be ideal for couples and smaller. If you had a family, i dont know if they have multi bed rooms or if you were staying with a friend...
One really cool thing is that this place is a 5 min walk from the metro exit. HUGE plus and recommend that when you pick a place to make sure you dont have a hike to a metro stop.
The next best thing about this place, your just a few min walk to Trevi and then a few mins to Piazza Nova, campo di fiori, spanish steps, and a ton more... And because your so close to the metro, you a short distance away from any other attraction in Rome.
Free wifi was nice however we stayed in the Leonardo room which is the last room facing the main street, i had problems accessing the signal while laying in the bed. Moving to the 2 seater they had allowed me to grab a signal but was only good enough to check facebook and email. (couldn't upload pictures, or access streaming content)
All in all, we are VERY pleased, and will use them again when we return in 2 years.
- Like to go (6/5): Great Location - It is a good thing the taxi driver knew where to take us, as the signage is very low key....just a small placque on the side of the building. The entrance is through two gates and the reception area is up a flight of stairs. There is a very tiny elevator for luggage.
Our room was nice and had a window overlooking a small street, where we ate lunch and dinner.
We were able to walk to the Trevi Fountain and to the Spanish Steps. Be careful of your footing and wear good walking shoes everywhere in Rome.
- manuel (10/5): hotel barbarini best kept secret - the first thing i would like to mention is the hotel staff, extremely helpful and nice, actually the best service ive had in all my bookings. the hotel is a small bed and breakfast hotel, close to most of the sites in rome, and close to all public transportation to get to where you need to, including the train station. the rooms are clean and quiet, and the breakfast is wonderful. i will definetly book this hotel again. the rates are reasonable, and the service is great, they also speak fluent english for those who need it.
- Sid (6/5): Hotel Barberini Suites Bb - The gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful, arranged concerts for us, made recommendations, etc. The hotel itself, although centrally located, is not easily found and difficult to access. You have three keys and a swipe card; outer door, gate, up several flights of steps, inner door and then your room key door. The water pressure was very low much of the time, hair dryer did not work the first day and one night the toilet ran all night. Nobody on site during the night, thus if you need help you have to call. Got stuck in elevator one night.
- David (10/5): - This is a nice hotel with big rooms it is close to everything by foot, however the metro is only a 5 min walk away.
- LCTM (10/5): Fantastic location! - Following a comment I read on the internet from another guest that previous stayed at the hotel, I had contacted the hotel in advance to reconfirm our booking. Only to find out that Alessandro from the Front Desk had already contacted me by e-mail to ask if we required further assistance. Everything went smooth!
I had read from another internet review that it was difficult to find, so arranged a car in advance with Alessandro to pick us up from the airport and bring us directly to the hotel. It cost us EUR50, but was in a damaged Mercedes. It got us there safely though and without loosing any time with a taxidriver in order to find the location.
Simple breakfast (you are asked to fill out a list in advance of what you would like, which then get's delivered to the room at your requested time, eg. croissants, coffee, toast etc). Room is nice and spacious enough for two. Room is clean and hotel is nicely done (newly renovated) We could not believe the price vs. the location. We were 2 min. away from the Trevi fountain, so passed by every evening to watch people and eat gelato. 5 min. from the Spanish steps and shopping, 2 min. from the departure of tourist buses and a metro which brings you directly to Vatican City. Alessandro at the reception was very helpful with his directions and information.
We had a great time and price vs. quality is very good!
