• Elizabeth (10/5): 3 Days in Munich - We had 3 fantastic days exploring Munich . We found the Alpine Hitel to be exceptional . On arrival the hotel receptionist was very helpful with our luggage which we had to store whilst our room was organised. The Room itself was easily accommodating for 2 people. Clean , light and air con made the temperature ideal for 30 degrees outside . In relation to the hotels location it is less then 10 mins walk from the Munich central train station . There is plenty of resteraunts and bars so you will not struggle for food etc . It’s about a 20 min walk to the main town centre which is mostly flat . We will definitely return to this hotel . Thank you for happy memories 👏🙌😎

Considerato il prezzo della camera, la mancanza degli accappatoi, delle creme e altri oggetti utili al soggiorno non è giustificata. La struttura non ha parcheggio ma ce ne sono alcuni non troppo lontani: a noi però non è stato riconosciuto lo sconto presso il Conti Stachus. A due passi dalla stazione, è molto comodo per i trasporti pubblici, però la zona attualmente è sconvolta da una quantità di cantieri stradali. Nelle vie intorno ci sono moltissimi senzatetto.

• Helen (6/5): Nice inside, not so nice outside - This hotel is right next to a building site, see photo of view from our window. We were not warned about this. The area was not particularly pleasant, though not far from the centre of Munich. The doors are locked after 6pm and this is probably a reflection of the area. Inside the hotel is actually very pleasant and our room was comfortable and tastefully decorated in an alpine style. The only problem was that the window coverings were completely inadequate, hence flooded with light from 4am.

• Pierre (8/5): Great hotel and excellent breakfast - This hotel is well located; 5 minute walk from the central train station and a few minutes walking distance to Marienplatz. Excellent hotel and friendly staff. The room was clean and confortable. However, there is no AC in room, which when windows are opened makes it very noisy being in a busy area with a lot of noise on the street even at night. The staff provided a fan that help maintaining the room cool. Superbe daily organic breakfast and a nice outside terrasse. All in all, this is a great hotel, well located and staff ready to help.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - My husband and I stayed at Alpen for 3 nights before going on a boat and bike tour mostly in Austria. The hotel was very nice. The room was spacious. The breakfast had a nice variety of items. The coffee was okay. The restaurante was good. Slow service, but we were on vacation, so we didn't care. The front desk staff was very nice and gave us some good and needed information about beer gardens to go. The only negatives: 1 - We couldn't keep our room key. The key was attached to really heavy metal piece and we had to drop it at the front desk when leaving the hotel. 2 - Although the bathroom was spacious, the shower was very small and slippery and would leak water on the sides of the door and leave the floor and mat wet. It would not prevent us from going back because everything else was very nice.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Alpen Hotel Munich - In general, everything was very good. However, the neighborhood is somewhat noisy and required that windows be closed at night. The pillows were extremely soft, offering little or no support (this appears to be a general issue at German and Austrian hotels). Finally, the cable TV provider, for some reason, blocked assess to the two English speaking news networks (BBC and CNN International) which might not be a big issue for many travelers, but those who like to stay in touch when they're away from home, should take note. One big benefit to the hotel is its proximity to the Hauptbahnhof, from which transportation in and around Munich, as well as other countries, is a big benefit. The location is also very close to the airport bus. The free breakfast was excellent as was the restaurant for a good German evening meal.

We even dined there one evening and the meal and service was exceptional. We will can't wait to go back, and will definitely stay here again.

• Verified traveler (8/5): A good hotel but....... - All in all this is a nice hotel in the city center. The breakfast buffet is excellent, but the service was a little slow if you'd order something that was not on the buffet. On day one we noticed a small rubber ring on the floor, probably left by previous guest. For the next four days it had been moved arround the room and was still on the floor when we left. I always wore the supplied slippers and the soles were black from dirt after the stay. Obviously something is wrong with the housekeeping. The bed was very comfortable, beside it had two mattresses which we didn't like. I cannot understand why they don't have one mattress in a double bed as the bed itself cannot be moved apart. The shower was good, but it was hard to adjust the temerature which changed from cold to hot all the time while showering. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Front desk staff were extremely helpful in moving us to an air conditioned room on the backside of the building. Breakfasts in Cafe Stefan were better than great with emphasis on organic foods. Staff were excellent at coffee service and keeping the buffet topped up! Convenient location but heavy smoking crowd between hotel and train station.

• Bjorn (8/5): City center hotel. - The hotel is situated in the city center so only a short walk to the pedestrian street, Marienplatz etc. We were told that our room (Alpenchic comfort) was recently renovated but the carpet on the floor should have been replaced with wooden floor. The carpet was both dirty and cheap. The bathroom was small and the shower cabin was very small. The breakfast is excellent and so is the food in the restaurant. Very nice and helpful staff.

Very charming hotel which is rather unexpected amongst the somewhat sketchy neighborhood. It was like an oasis each time we came back. It was spotless and comfortable with an excellent shower! Our only issue was figuring out how to use the remote to run the AC. The duvets are awesome but too heavy for me if the room isn't super cold. Breakfast was superb and the lovely complimentary gluhwein and cookies in front of the fireplace in the lounge were perfect.

They did not fix it and we mentioned it again by checkout. No discount given even though we told the receptionist that we had to fill water in the rubbish bin to flush the toilet... great breakfast! • Verified traveler (8/5): May 2017 - Our hotel was conveniently located with a great breakfast. We did not have any A/C in our room and the pillows were flat and uncomfortable.
• Sarma (8/5): Not cheap butgood - Close to banhoff - busy area, lots of construction and congested area. Hotel is very spacious for Europe and well appointed. Breakkie could have better choices but mostly good quality food. Stayed in a jr suite for 4-5 days, they extended 2 days at expedia price. Rooms are excellent
• Ema (8/5): Small room - We stayed in this hotel over Easter for 5 nights. The location is convenient as it is close to the main train station, around 5 minutes walk or less and close to the centre of town, maybe 10-15 minutes to the main square. The room was a standard and quite small and did not have the nice wooden furniture that we had seen on the website which was one of the reasons why we chose it, however as the hotel was quiet when we stayed we did not have issues with noise from inside the hotel and outside. Breakfast was good and had a variety food so overall it was a good stay.
