Guest Reviews
- Brian (8/5): One night stay in countdown - There were quite some disturbing issues during the stay, I was in a rush to take my car and leave however I need a stamp from the check in desk, the stamping process took abnormally long and it was found out that the machine was jammed and they had me waiting while they try to take the ticket out, it took about roughly 10 mins, they could’ve done a better job in problem solving, such as giving me a new ticket straight away, or contacting the gate keeper to open the parking gate for me to leave. Aside from this fact, the window view from our room was a let down due to the dirtiness of the windows, stains and dusts showing how long the windows were left without cleaning, the price weren’t especially cheap for the stay yet compared to my other stays in Sheraton, parisian and Venetian, we all got free upgraded rooms. Aside from these facts the rest of the services and gastronomic experiences were very good. Especially the room service hainan chicken rice that I ordered that night.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It's more about value. For this price, the quality of the room and overall just doesnt worth it. You can have many other choices if you are paying this price per night
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The bath tub is a bit too small. Also the pillows are just soft.
But other than that, this hotel is pretty good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good, they don't accept union pay as deposit, will take 21 days to refund if use credit as deposit, I used cash instead but takes a long time to check out
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location, close to the new metro station. Room is spacious & clean with good view.
- Lynette (8/5): - Location is great for the airport and ferry terminal.
- franklin (4/5): Service is way below the Macau standard! - First of all, sign to hotel reception is nothing clear if you walk from inside the building. Check in has a long queue and there is only one guy working there. Have to ask the check out counter why they are not helping to get to check in, waited more than half hour. Wanted to get some change for transportation but was told they can’t make changes! Other hotels gladly offer that service and is very detail in asking how they could help with getting to our destination. Have to call and ask for tidying up the room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel is very new and there are shops and restaurants right downstairs, just few minutes walk to The Venetian which is very convenient.
- Nat (10/5): - A very pleasant stay. Helpful and friendly staff front desk staff. The hotel can look into providing some seating areas for guests waiting to be checked in.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Clean but basic and low spec quality of rooms - Rooms are pretty basic and small. Lack of atmosphere all around. It is Clean but basic and for the price per room, can certainly find better deals for the room size and quality of the room elsewhere. Was just ok but Wouldn’t go back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything is good, nice areas, employee is very helpful to us,I have a good time to dtay@city of dream the countdown
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing hotel alot to see great club and mall to walk around
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Evrything is OK, but nothing special. A little bit anonymous
- Darren (10/5): Great room - Booked corner suite. Great room on 18th floor. Beautiful views of the Cotia strip.
- Yohan (10/5): - I like the art installations on the property and nearby areas
- SKJ (10/5): - COD has a.GREAT location and helpful staff! Peter at the Concierge Desk is AWESOME!!
- Eunice (10/5): Worth your Money! - Super clean and close to the main areas. Will definitely come here to stay again!
- KA (10/5): - The view is very beautiful. And the bath set is smelly
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Not many food options compared to galaxy, esp local options
Didn’t like how staff brought our bags to front door and dropped on the floor - not hygienic
- Novelle (6/5): - i like the theme of the hotel. The countdown effect is cool. However, i don't like the room design personally. Feel not very comfy with the bathroom.
- Verified traveler (6/5): A horrible check-in queues - Check-in service was very bad. Need to queue up twice for room check-in
- WIN (8/5): - The bed size of double twin is big so it’s good to book one King and one connecting Twin for big family group travel.
- Sai Ngoh (8/5): Beds need to be upgraded - A good overall stay. The beds need to be upgraded. Center part of the beds are saggy.
- K (2/5): - The hotel rooms are really not acceptable. Understand this is not a new hotel, but keeping it tidiness and cleanness are basic requirements. But i dont think this hotel can provide. Really disappointed to this hotel.
- W (8/5): - Nice hotel. Spacious room. Comfortable bed. Yet it’s a bit not convenient for a separate toilet
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Terrible service.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The toilet design is not very good, there is not washing point in the toilet area. So which means after u finished ur biz u will hve to come out and wash ur hands in the shower area
- Cody (10/5): All around was really good - Great location, the staff i encountered was good, would stay again if in Macau.
- Goh (10/5): Great place to stay - The reception and lobby is peaceful and Hardrock shop is inside the hotel. One of the best chinese cuisine at the Golden Pavillion restaurant. The hotel is overall excellent except for its bathtub which is difficult to get in because of the big glass which blocks 2/3 of the tub. After showering, it is pretty unsafe to get off the bathtub. Suggest to remove the glass and replace with a shower curtain instead.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Keep it up good job great staff great management. Hope to see u people again
- CHIN (10/5): - Great experience!
- Pelepchan (8/5): CODMacau - Loved the hotel and the location!
- Frances (8/5): - Lobby air conditioning is too cold
- Josephine (8/5): Great location - Holiday trip with group of friends. Overall, we are pleased with the hotel and it’s convenient visiting places. Good view from hotel.
- RU PING (8/5): Short Getaway with Friends - Hotel in good location n convenient. Within walking distance to other hotels/casinos. There are also many shuttle buses to bring the guests to different locations/attractions. Very friendly n helpful staff. Room is very spacious with a fantastic view. Have already recommended friends ...
- Shirley (8/5): - Very good overall , staffs are courteous and very helpful. The bath tub is a bit awkward for climbing in due to its broad edge and the shower screen and easily collect water round the sides and floor
- Peggy (10/5): - Big spacious room with dreamy view at night. Friendly room services. A big swimming pool with warm water all year round. Overseeing the cotai strip. Great place for vacation.
- Kit (6/5): - 1. Check-in process was slow, and there’s no one to monitor the queue line, turns out I was being cut Q for several times.
2. The concierge service is bad, the on duty staff was like reluctant to entertain me when I was trying to check regarding the shuttle bus service.
3. It’s ridiculous that their restaurants at soho area are only starts operation from 11am onwards. Furthermore, the only 24 hours operate restaurant in the casino only provide very limited menu during early morning.
4. I’ve got minor electric shot with my DRY HAND while switching off the Makesure Mirror lighting in the bathroom.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Check in time very long, reception should have more staffs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean, tidy and modern. Too expensive for food/drinks.
- Yang (10/5): - Has hotel buses to downtown and walking distance to surrounding hotels
- Yang (10/5): - Location and reception staff is helpful on feedback to tourist’s spots.
- NG (10/5): - excellenttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very slow for check in process.
I wait for over 30mins for check in.
Other thing is good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like everything about Countdown Hotel. Unfortunately we cannot see the performance at House of Dancing Water because it was under maintenance work. I don't mind staying there again. The price for the room is also reasonable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I really glad about staffs’ service and also they were all kind and nice. Also i like the bus services the most!!
- KH (8/5): - It was comfortable. The room was nice. Water pressure of the bath & shower was great. I liked it very much. The only thing that drawback was the check in. They only 2 desks (4 computers) for check in. When I checked in, there were only 3 receptionists to check us in. So we had to wait a long time, which needed to be improved so badly. So make sure you arrive early for check in, coz it will take a while.
- Lee (8/5): The counter staffs are polite and service orientat - It was amazing
- Joseph (10/5): A perfect stay - Convenient location with lots of attractions nearby.
- boo (8/5): - spacious and clean room; conveniently located; express checkout
- Tan (10/5): - Transportation to various part of Macau is very convenient and quick. Centrally located at Cotai and within reached of all Casinos within Cotai area in 20 min.
- R (8/5): - Nice view and nice amenities. Smooth checking, and good room
- Anthony (8/5): Macau trip - It was satisfactory.
- Lynette (8/5): - Hotel is close to Taipa village and Coloane village. Both can be reached by bus.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - no video poker machines in casino otherwise great. Nice breakfast buffet
- Verified traveler (4/5): - the bed is not good , like a bay , sleep not comfortable.
- Sebastian (8/5): - The location is great and exceptional . Love to come back again.
- Brent (10/5): 1 Day stop - 1/2109 - Great hotel with amazing shopping and good amenities! Must see “Dancing Water” show that’s on location. Highly recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Check in was smooth! The room was nice and bed was comfy!! Didn’t get to explore the gym/pool facility but overall the whole place is a huge resort. Luxury shops, to fast food, and fine dining. There’s a night club within, and so much more. Customer service was amazing. It’s right in the middle of the strip so easy to access Wynn, and four seasons and Venetian and so on. Highly recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great one. - Love our stay here. 😍
- Joseph (10/5): - Excellent location, great value and the staff is always courteous!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very convenient and good service, nice breakfast, the staff were very friendly.
- ET (10/5): - Nice hotel and staff. Room is spacious. 2nd time staying in this hotel although name had changed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I really enjoyed my stay. The stuff are really nice and the amenities are great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 1. Their room was excellent, they arrange me higher floor room with venetian view due to my mother birthday.
2.the in front counter staff is nice and service excellent
3.there is convenience access to everywhere due to free shuttle bus provided and there have free bus to Macau airport, there is best ever.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - nice clean room, i will come back again if i am visiting
- Verified traveler (10/5): Two days in Macau - Nice hotel that has a great show.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Conveniently located hotel at reasonable price - Conveniently located within the City of Dreams complex. Also right above Club Cubic. There are many more nicer hotels in Macau, but for the price and if you’re not expecting an extravagant hotel and don’t intend to spend much time in your room, then this is one you can consider staying at. This is my second time back.
- Juju (8/5): - The hotel itself was great. I'll break it down into pros/cons
Pros:
clean
decent amenities
casinos not too crowded
awesome heated pool (with NO ONE using it)
Cons:
Not a lot of shops/restaurants on the property (we ended up going to the Venetian for shopping/food
The few restaurants available are grossly overpriced--do yourself a favor and go downtown macau peninsula or even cotai downtown for food --- much better tasting and affordable.
If I were to ever return to Macau, I would get a room at the Venetian rather than the Countdown albeit Countdown is much more affordable.
- Belloo (10/5): - Room is nice, clean. Staff is helpful.
Location is quite ok, easy access to nearby hotel and casino.
Only cons is food is expensive in that area. Need to travel about 10 mins taxi ride away to get cheaper local food
- Pat (10/5): - Very trendy and spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful, like coming to a friend's home. Thumbs up to the administration also, they have a well trained team and good quality control system. The rooms my party occupied were excellent and I met the lady who came for quality checkoff. Will definitely be first on my list on my next visit to Macau.
- Lee (10/5): - Hotel is great, will definitely stay here again next time we visit.
- Cecilis (10/5): - Highly recommend. Helpful staffs who are very nice. Good transportation.
- Kate (8/5): Good location and reasonably priced. - Easy to get around with hotel shuttle services. Room is comfortable and clean.
- Max (10/5): - It was one of the best views. Great service.
- Winnie (8/5): - Location convenient. Corner suite has high CP. Super good location if go to Club Cubic
- Ricky (10/5): Macau - Great hotel. Great location
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Reception services is not too helpful for a request to change from double bed room as a twin room. The staff said I need to check with the hotel room booking agent at that moment.
- Ron (6/5): - Countdown have a good location
Easy check-in (staff Donaldson Two thumbs up)
Travelocity booking offer 25 $ for food/beverage ,never happens, the manager (Crhis) didnt know about promo (?)
Have visited Macau many times I know you can have better acomodation .This one is just ok.Taxi drivers do not know
the hotel either (?) former Hard Rock hotel)
- Verified traveler (8/5): Value for money - Overall have a comfort stay in the hotel. Walking distance to several big shopping malls and it is convenient to have shuttle bus to Macau Peninsula.
- Somsakul (10/5): Definitely would stay here again! - Amazing corner room. Staff was amazingly responsive and prompt with any requests we had. No complaints here.
- Henry (10/5): 1 Night stay at the hotel. - Close to all the shops and eateries. Free shuttle provided to other casinos which is good. Comfortable n clean hotel.
Only problem with the check in which I had to wait for almost an hour with the front guests having problems.
- Caroline (6/5): Shockingly poor and slow check in - I organized to stay with some work colleagues and we had four rooms. The service was shockingly poor and the wait was very long. Checking in was very complicated. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the gym facilities and pool was nice. We were not able to get a taxi anywhere and even at the entrance they could not get a taxi to take pick us up. There needs to be some kind of shuttle service to sites around Macau as getting a taxi is so difficult unless you are taking a shuttle to the ferry pier. Breakfast was average for this quality of hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Check in experience - Overall this hotel is good. However, it took too long to check in.
- Yee (8/5): - Nice hotel,easy transportation.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was our anniversary I booked the corner suite. Room was modern and spacious with sofa. The view was amazing. Two thumbs up.
- luke (10/5): Fantastic hotel, a five star experience! - This is a great hotel, not unlike the cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.
Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable.
I would definitely stay here again next time in Macau
- Janice (8/5): Clean and artsy Hotel - This is the second time I stayed in the Countdown hotel and it didn't disappoint! Great stay!
- Hon Fai (8/5): - Great cotai location. COD is actually nice as not as crowded as Venetian.. the pool area is really cool.
- Sumiani (10/5): Good and clean - Ever good
- ZOLTAN (10/5): Great location - Great location
Bathroom, washroom doors didn’t close, wrong fit
Worn carpet.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel lift is hard to use the card to scan. Shower head have water leakage.
- LEUNG (8/5): - Nice and Clean, Beautiful Swimming Pool and excellent service
- Verified traveler (8/5): family - good location but kids facilities are not as good as expected. also prebooked for birthday party
- Momoko (10/5): - The two ladies, one is called Shirley at the Reception and the other is working at the Concierge, they are quite professional and efficient. The checkin and checkout time are fast.
- Martin (8/5): - Expectations were high, when on check-in you see the coolest "countdown clock" you will ever see. Could this property be as cool as the clock? The answer is mostly No. What is missing, IMO, is an awesome lobby lounge/bar like many W Hotels have created. Instead, there is a generic, rather ugly "bar" that doubles as a buffet breakfast spot. Too bad! Room was beautiful, with the best shower ever. Super clean. Pool was nice, but be warned, it's definitely not an Adults-only property - lots of young families and kids in the pool. Overall, a nice place to stay for a couple of days.
- Roger (8/5): - 1) The check in was slow due to only one poor staff at the check in counter serving a Long queue of guests..As I saw some of the guests have started to lose their patient in waiting.. Should deploy more staff at the check in counter to speed up the check in process
2) Many taxi Drivers are not aware of this hotel - city of dreams count down after arriving then they realised that it was previously hard rock hotel.
3) One of the female staff at the conceirge counter was very helpful (sorry.. can’t remember her name ) and she had gone an extra mile to handle all my transportation (ferry to HK airport) matters patiently.
4) Overall the stay was great and comfortable .. thanks.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel is good as it is near attractions and accesibility to shuttle buses
- Ezen (10/5): The only hotel with shuttle buses to Peninsular - Probably the best reason for this hotel is the shuttle bay buses at the basement which includes a bus ride for your day trip to the peninsular old macau.
This hotel also has 2 Michelin starred restaurants but require advanced booking.
- QINGWEI Wallace (8/5): Countdown 909 hours - pleasant stay...only 909 hours for countdowning
