• Ccddrr (10/5): Excellent - I’ve stayed here twice, both times in a seaview room. The room was exceptionally clean and was cleaned everyday. The balcony over looked the sea which was lovely at night. There was a good choice for breakfast and the protected Roman ruins inside the breakfast room were fascinating. I had a problem with wifi connection a couple of times but they fixed the problem within minutes. Reception staff were super helpful and friendly as were the cleaners. The hotel throughout was very clean and tastefully decorated. Situated on a side road off the main thoroughfare everything was accessible within minutes. No noise disturbance. I high recommend this hotel and i will return. Every floor is accessible by a lift.
• GoPlaces50373007083 (8/5): Great location near top attractions, but poor Wi-Fi and AC issues. - We stayed at Acra Hotel and really appreciated its excellent location — it’s just a short walk to major sights like Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, and Topkapi Palace. It made exploring Istanbul very convenient! However, the Wi-Fi connection was quite poor, so we were glad we had eSIMs with data. We also experienced daily issues with the air conditioning showing error messages. Despite these inconveniences, our overall stay was okay, mainly because the location made everything so accessible.
• Shanaz (6/5): - Friendly and welcoming staff. The breakfast at this hotel was very underwhelming, and it was probably the saddest thing about the hotel. The photo of the breakfast on the Expedia website is very misleading and was nothing like that at all. We were initially given a room that had a very smelly bathroom; something wrong with the sewage system I think as the smell was coming out of the drain in the bathroom sink. We reported this to reception who apparently knew about the problem already, but still gave us the room?? We had the room changed the next day. This time, the bathroom in the new room was cleaner and not smelly, however there were ants on the floor lol. In summary, I probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again and I am hesistant to recommend this to anyone for their stay in Istanbul.

We loved being able to pass by Hagia Sofia & Blue Mosque on our daily walks to the metro, and enjoyed frequent visits to our fav shops in Spice Bazaar nearby. Breakfast was abundant, but a little repetitive, in a beautiful breakfast hall with paintings & archeology of old city. We had a gorgeous window overlooking the sunrise on the Bosphorus water channel.

But when we checked in at 2am, they were so friendly and quick. When we checked out, we scheduled their driver services to get to the airport, and learned they only take cash that morning! The person working the front desk told us where the nearest atm was in clear directions, and was so kind about the whole thing. He also served us Turkish coffee when we came back and were waiting for the car. Just great staff! Would stay there again if I make my way back :) also, on the way to the atm, we saw many highlights we were hoping to see in the morning, so definitely recommend the location!!!

Lucky my family was presented at that time they called reception. i waited about 20 munites inside locked toilet. Engineer came and changed the lock. Over its good. Customer service good.

The breakfast was open buffet, and it was nice, contained hot and cold breakfast. It was a bit hard to get around the area though as it there was limited public transportation. • 1CaliforniaTraveler (4/5): Wish I could recommend. But I just can’t. - The good: the bed is comfortable, the air conditioning works, and the room is a decent size. Also, it’s relatively close to Aya Sofya. I checked in early in the day and was pleased that my room was ready so that I could drop my luggage in the room and head out. And the young man at the front desk who fixed the air conditioning in my room has been very helpful. The bad: Oh, where to start. The lighting is only good if you like living in a dark cave. The light fixtures have these tiny little flame type bulbs in them that are about five watts each. The hotel doesn’t have a spare lamp I can use. If you like to read in the evening at all - forget it. And the room I’m in is noisy - right across the alley from a restaurant that has loud music and shouting patrons at night. Housekeeping apparently thinks you get one water, one extra roll of toilet paper, and two teabags when you check in. If you drink all the water, they don’t replace it, and if you start on the spare roll of TP, too bad - that doesn’t appear to get replaced either, nor does that tea bag you used. The older man at the front desk was not pleased when I asked for more water after returning from a long day of sightseeing on my second day to find no water bottles had been left in my room. The door to the bathroom doesn’t stay open on its own so they prop it open with a trash can. The bathroom sink doesn’t have a stopper in the drain so if you drop something in the sink you will probably need to have the drainpipe taken apart to retrieve it. There is a couch in the room and I won’t go near it: it is dirty, obviously stained, and has a big hole in one arm. Who knows what lurks within. The room would be better without it but you have to sit there if you want to watch tv. I am stuck here for two more nights of unpleasantness. I’m going to try to find brighter bulbs tomorrow so that I can read, but I wonder if I’m supposed to buy the additional water and TP myself (Update: day 2 without more bottled water in my room so I just gave up and bought some). I’ve spent the last two weeks in Turkey and have stayed in at least 8 other hotels while on a tour. This hotel has been the most disappointing. The sad part is that with attention to detail, better housekeeping, and a greater willingness to please their customers, it could be so much better.
• 291randak (2/5): Ripoff, tourist trap hotel in Sultanahmet - This was the worst, cheap tourist trap hotel I can imagine. Our room was dirty, and the cleaning crew left a cleaning bottle in our bathroom, and an open dirty mop bucket in the hallway outside our door. The breakfast was so bad the first morning that we went to another nearby hotel and paid for their breakfast on our second morning there. The service was salty and reluctant to help anyone out when we complained - they just wanted to make sure that they were paid for the laundry service.

• webb (8/5): Excellent Location! - My wife and I loved the location of this hotel. It is a quaint and clean boutique hotel in exactly where you want to be in the old city. Close to everything. Clean rooms and facilities with pretty good wifi and breakfast included. The place is a little tired and a few things need to be repaired but all in all a good place to stay and visit Istanbul indeed.

• janjoun19 (10/5): Excellent location for walking to most of the sites - Great location and nice little hotel. Dated but clean. Pleasantly surprised by how quiet it is at night despite being in midst of busy area. Rooms are large. Only thing to watch out for is only the morning staff is fluent in English so make sure if you have anything you need to communicate you do that in the morning. Night staff are very nice but it's difficult to communicate if you're not fluent in turkish. Also note the whole area is not car friendly so catching cab can be tricky and expensive. For airport rides, try to reserve uber and for everything else walk at least to the sultanahmet square before attempting a cab ride.

• 234ivyd (10/5): Such a Pleasant Stay - Stayed in this hotel for a total of 6 nights on two separate occasions in June 2023. Loved how homey the rooms were. The standard rooms were more than big enough. The floors were of wooden tiles and loved walking on it barefooted because it didn't feel too cold. A safe was provided to secure valuable belongings. Bed was very comfortable to sleep in. Water pressure from the shower was very strong. Enjoyed the hot bat after a long tiring day. AC was working perfectly well on all days. I didn't get to eat breakfast because of my hectic schedule but I learned from another guest that it was very good. Special shoutout to Ferdie and Jehan for being very nice and kind. Their customer service is exemplary! They safekept my luggage for 6 days while I went on tour outside of Istanbul. Also served me Turkish tea and bread on my last day at their hotel while waiting for my taxi pick up to the airport. Until next time. Wish you guys all the best and more power to your hotel business!

• Jorge (10/5): I love Acra Hotel! - This was our second time staying at Acra Hotel. The staff is always welcoming and has all the information we need. We booked a room with 2 beds but unfortunately something was wrong with the room so they were kind enough to put us in 2 different rooms which totally worked for us. There are multiple options for breakfast that will fill you up. House keepers are always happy and laughing with you. They always ask if we need anything to replenish in the room. Zeynet is always so sweet. Last October, I lost my voice, and I communicated with him that I was sorry but couldn't talk and that we were leaving to have dinner and needed him to save our parking space. When we came back to the hotel and went to our room, I heard a knock on the door, and it was him with some hot milk and honey. He said that's what they drink to make the throat feel better. I thought it was the sweetest thing ever! I was happy he was still there at the hotel when we came back the second time. He actually walked us to the restaurant to make sure we got there safely. At night it's so quiet and peaceful we slept so well! I have no complaints about the Acra hotel, and I can not wait to come back and see everyone! Thank you so much for everything!

• someoneuzb (10/5): Never forget those days... - We stayed in this hotel 10 nights with my wife in November 2022. We liked everything. The place where the hotel is located is the best place I've ever seen. It is not far from famous Sultan Ahmet mosque and sea is also 5 minutes by walk. Each staff of the hotel, including top manager - all of them were so polite and helpful. Whenever top manager saw us, he always asked how was our stay in the hotel, if we liked everything or not, how was out breakfast and so on. Thank you for everything Mr. Erdal Ozturk. • briand790 (10/5): Great Hotel - Excellent Location - Friendly Staff - Comfortable and Clean - Stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed the stay. The hotel couldn't have a better location and the staff was helpful and friendly. On the first night the hotel even called to find out how long it would be before arrival. A very long line at customs at the airport followed by a very long drive to the hotel from the airport resulted in a super late check-in. The front desk was staffed and waiting for me on arrival even though it was just before midnight. Fortunately, the room was ready and comfortable for a good night's sleep. The room was quiet and had a very small balcony that you could go out on to enjoy the view of Istanbul. All of the historic sites in Istanbul were within walking distance and the neighborhood was loaded with shops, convenience stores, and restaurants (of all kinds). Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great central location to stay near public transportation and visiting museums and mosques. Everything you could ever need is found right by this hotel.

We requested for an extra pillow are we were told the hotel was full so they couldn't give us. Breakfast was no where as shown in the pictures. The tea in the machine was finished and when we requested them they just gave us tea bags. Wouldn't go back to the hotel.

• Pegeman (2/5): - By far this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have reviewed Many hotels and restaurants in the past as I book hotels depending on their reviews. The reviews of this hotel did not match the hotel. This hotel in Paris or New York city would have been considered a one star hotel. One of the staff at the front desk was very nice and helpful, we booked a city view room and once we got to our room it was not the same as was shown in the picture and they said the room we are in is much nicer. Well, the room we got was a connecting room as was mentioned, however, 1) The closet doors were missing handles. 2) The bathroom showers were not functioning correctly. 3) The water was changing between very cold and very hot temperature. 4) The room was facing stairs and not city as was booked. 5) The window was right above kitchen exhaust. 6) The AC stopped working sometime at 4:00am and the room became very hot and couldn't turn it back on. 7) The bed did not have top sheets to pull over myself. 8) A part of the flooring was bulged and we kept tripping on it. 9) Bathroom was not clean and there were mold and yellow stuff around the bathtub and sink. 10) Sleep comfort on their mattress and bed was terrible. 11) light fixtures in the room were either missing or falling apart. 12) Floors were sticky and it was clearly not cleaned prior to our arrival as we could see drops of liquid and dirty shoe prints. • Aytan (4/5): - When we got to the room, the air conditioner was not on. The room was extremely hot and not bearable. When I brought it up to the front desk, they turned it on, but it was still hot. The internet did not work throughout my stay at acra, I complained about it every day, and the manager let me work in his office because it’s the only place where the internet worked. If the internet worked, it was not stable. I am very disappointed as I had to work 8 hours and their response was, you can always work in our office. The staff was extremely friendly, but my experience was very stressful. I expect a refund.

• Paul (10/5): - This is an old hotel right in the heart of the old town. You can't compare it to a new modern hotel, that is not what it is. There are actual ruins of the old wall in the dining room! And it is right by the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, tram stop, etc. All the people were super friendly and helpful. This place was a wonderful start to our stay in Turkey!
• EileenMtShasta (10/5): Great Hotel and Central to Main Sightseeing - Acra Hotel was included as part of a Rick Steves Best of Turkey in 13 Days tour in March 2022. The hotel is clean, the rooms are big and quiet, the breakfast buffet generous and the staff are always eager to please. Best of all, it is a short walking distance from Sultanahmet tram stop and also Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque.
• musicbuff04530 (10/5): A great place to stay! Wonderful breakfast and friendly service! - I stayed here prior to and after a group tour. I always felt safe and well taken care of with a most helpful staff. Good breakfast. The ACRA is well located to major attractions, restaurants and the Arasta Bazaar. The rooms are well sized, clean and the windows open for fresh air.
• Barbara (8/5): Nice stay in Acra Hotel - Perfectly located, 5-7 mins away from Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. No street noise and very clean. Good service, everything was on time as agreed ( Bosphorus tour pick up, PCR test, taxi pick up). Very responsive reception, special credit to Mr. Hayati. Quiet breakfast restaurant, good breakfast. On the minus side: bathroom smell at night ( disappearing during the day), rooms pretty acoustic so if your neighbours are loud at night you will probably hear them.

• Vasima (10/5): - Lovely hotel only a 5 minute walk from the Blue mosque. Super convenient and close to Sultanahmet station. You can walk to Aristaar bazaar or along the hight street very easily. The hotel staff were brilliant, very accomadating. The room was a good size and kept clean.

• Muhammad Ahsan (6/5): AWFUL - We had 5 nights in Istanbul and to sum it up our stay in was not at all comforting. We had a smooth check in but the rest of our experience was awful. There was a voice coming from the AC we complained but useless. WIFI service and signal were pathetic. Daily complimentary water was not provided. Less options for breakfast and they were not entertaining our requests which was quite unpleasant for us. Elevators are way too small.

• Theodora (8/5): Comfortable stay near Hagia Sophia - The location is near Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque which are main attractions for first time visitors of Istanbul. The airport bus 18TL from IST airport also stops at Hagia Sophia so it is convenient for sightseeing and airport trip. The road in the area is quite small and the area is full of hotels, restaurants and tour offices. There is Arasta Bazaar nearby that has good bargain similar to Grand Bazaar without having to haggle too much. Grand Bazaar sellers have tendency to give very high first price that you have to haggle half price :-( We went there for experience and did subsequent shopping at Arista Bazaar. The hotel lobby is comfortable and has enough chair when you wait or queue for check in. The check in staff can speak English. The check in process is fast. The breakfast is good variety for the hotel class. The cleaning lady is friendly and efficient. She knocks on the door on time to clean (around 12pm) and replaces all towels and toiletries. Breakfast lady always looks grumpy and slow to replace forks and spoons and water. Nevertheless, she gives you what you need (fork or water) when you ask. Overall it is a good stay.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent hotel. Really nice location. About couple of minutes away from the main city centre (Sultanahmet). The hotel staff were amazing throughout our stay. We arrived early in the morning at about 7ish. And they sorted us out the room at about 8ish. Also they offered us buffet breakfast when we arrived. The hotel room was nice and cozy and really good size. When we checked out, one of the member of staff helped us carry our luggage to the coach station. I highly recommend this hotel.

• david (8/5): Great location, hard working hotel. - This is an interesting hotel in a great location. The customer service was great with helpful tips, laundry service, and clean rooms. You are welcomed with a cup of apple tea and they strive to make you happy and comfortable. They even ran to the restaurant a few doors down and the waiter delivered right to our room. It isn’t perfect, but it was worth the price and having all the main sites within 5 minutes was perfect.
