The restaurants in the hotel are also top nudge. Unfortunately the renovation works were slight noisy, however staff had got out of their way to make us comfortable and move us to a different side of the hotel. Big shout out to the Loyalty manager Katie Trung for all her effort and help! Nagyon szepen koszonunk mindent kedves Katie! :)

- Thesuitelife8 (2/5): Horrible for check in - The Marriott brand should be ashamed. This place is subpar and Customer service is horrible. First of all when you drive into the hotel, the J in the JW is missing and one of the Rs in the Marriott is missing so that says a lot about what is going wrong here. We paid for a stay with breakfast and we have a receipt to prove but they refused to honour it. Secondly, they said this is a non-smoking hotel. Our room smells like five people smoke here last night and they didn’t air it out. I rarely rarely ever make a complaint so this is how horrible it is. This is Ho Chi Minh and maybe not the North American standard but it is still your brand and you should know that it sucks right now. The guy at front desk his name is DUY there.

Receptionist super friendly and helpful to get us connecting rooms. Cleaner - oh my OCD was dancing how this guy cleaned the rooms. Forgot his name but room 903-904 amazing job 🙏. Room service - you called they came in less then 5 minutes. Never seen a room service like this. Unbelievable awesome 👏. Breakfast also top notch - could not even try all of it. Amazing Gym facilities as well again with super nice staff. Small pool with an wonderful stunning garden one level up. So beautiful 🤩 on oasis in the middle of the city. Beds comfortable in a nice room normal size. Pool had on the weekend not enough sunbeds - a few up in the garden would have helped. Our shower dripped and made the whole bathroom floor wet. This should be fixed.

Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout our visit. A standout feature was the rooftop bar—definitely a big plus. The location was also ideal, making it easy to get around and enjoy the area.

The seventy hours of our short passage were filled with a series of wonderful surprises: wonderful location/architecture, wonderful swimming pool/terrasse garden/fitness center the warm welcome atmosphere, amazing foods (breakfast and lounge cocktail dinner), and above all, whole staff outstanding service! So professional and radiant with the spirit of service, really impressed me! I was more than delighted with spending this unprecedentedly extraordinary period which stands top among all of my experiences in prestigious hotel brandings of five continents! So special thanks to whole JW Marriott who provided us the first class top service! My brother and me are also so thankful towards other ladies gentlemen of restaurant/lounge whose names I couldn't remember with some regrets, for their outstanding services as well as their most beautiful smiles! Великолепный сервис: сумки доставили в номер, валюту обменяли на месте и дали рекомендации по об конникам в городе, вечером перед нашим возвращением закрыли шторы и включили кондиционер, принесли расслабляющую соль для ванны (у нас был долгий день шоппинга, о чем говорили персоналу). Хороший английский, без проблем понимали друг друга. В пешей доступности основные ТЦ и брендовые магазины, а также вкусные рестораны.

- subha (9/5): JW Marriott always lives up to our expectations. - While we didn't eat breakfast there, our dinner was outstanding. The room is huge by Ho Chi Minh standards, and the bathroom is also quite luxurious. Staff are helpful and courteous, and the location is very convenient. The hotel doesn't have a lobby. The entrance and the way to the check-in counter are through their restaurant, which I found unusual.

Bad: - Many associates are former IHG and fail to provide a premium service by Marriott standard. - Service is hit or miss. Some are very kind and friendly but some are rude and souless. You may know who you are. - Made in China Aromatherapy Associates instead of Byredo. - Spa quality is degraded as usual. IC Spa is always better. Overall 6/10. Probably 9/10 in the next few months when new outlets and renovated areas ready.

The location can’t be beat, the rooms are clean and well appointed, and the staff were very friendly. Special mention to the staff in the executive lounge. They always were there for whatever we needed, and Thu and the rest of the team were very kind to our little boys. Will definite be back.
- abhaykumar1984 (2/5): A Luxury Property That Failed at Basic Human Empathy on New Year’s Eve - JW Marriott Saigon Suites is undoubtedly a good property with comfortable rooms and a very good breakfast spread, which initially left us happy and satisfied. The check-in experience was also pleasant. However, unfortunately, the overall experience was seriously marred by the attitude and behavior of certain staff members. The most disappointing incident occurred on 31st December at around 11:58 PM at the pool bar, involving Mr. Sang. He abruptly and rudely stopped us from entering the main lawn, from where my 7-year-old daughter could have witnessed the New Year fireworks. There was absolutely no empathy, no courtesy, and no willingness to understand that this once-a-year midnight moment can never be brought back—especially for a child. His behavior was shockingly rude. The way he physically blocked my wife and daughter from stepping onto the lawn, with cold and unpleasant facial expressions, is something I will never forget. It felt as if access to an open garden was being denied purely because we had not purchased tickets for the New Year celebration. This approach was insensitive, rigid, and completely against the hospitality standards one expects from a brand like JW Marriott. What makes this experience even more disappointing is that no one from the hotel management reached out to us afterward. In other reputed hotels across countries, when staff members make such mistakes or encounter serious guest dissatisfaction, they proactively report the incident to their General Manager, who personally reaches out to the guest to calm the situation and restore trust. Unfortunately, nothing of that sort happened here—no apology, no acknowledgment, and no attempt to understand or correct the damage caused. Additionally, during breakfast on other days, we noticed a few staff members displaying unhappy and frustrated expressions, which further affected the overall dining experience and guest comfort. Despite being a loyal member, such incidents force me to seriously reconsider my choices in the future. Next time I travel to another country, I would prefer exploring other brands or properties that value basic human courtesy, empathy, and guest emotions, rather than rigid rules and indifferent behavior. Well done, Mr. Sang, for turning what should have been a magical New Year moment for a child into a bitter and unforgettable disappointment.

We are platinum elite bonvoy and expected this hotel to be like the other JW properties in other countries. It was not. I don’t recommend it for American tourist’s. Asian guests arrived and were waited on first and at the restaurant they were approached and seated before anyone else. We felt like second class citizens.

The check in process is chaotic and non transparent. We booked 3 deluxe executive suites, they overbooked the rooms and gave us deluxe suites (smaller rooms) in executive floor instead of the 1,100 sq feet rooms we booked. Be wary of booking process and make sure the rooms are labelled correctly. The front desk is rude and unhelpful. The rooms are old and not renovated. Still an old hotel, not well managed —-the management teams could be improved upon.

She was awesome in addressing our needs and always had a smile on her face + Breakfast was very nice and had a wide variety of drink and food options - The hotel has been transitioned over from Intercontinental, the older property and is still not entirely modernized. - I got just a corner room in spite of using my Suite upgrade certificates. The room was on the smaller size than expected Overall a solid choice for someone visiting HCMC
- alanleong3333 (10/5): Exceeded Expectations by a far margin - The JW Marriott Saigon exceeded expectations. As the property is under going renovation’s till August 2026, I was somewhat apprehensive. The lobby, gym, spa & pool have all been moved. The lobby to the 1st floor, the spa to the presidential suite, and access granted to hotel guests to use the pool & gym at the neighbouring JW Marriott apartment block. I stayed at the Executive Corner Suite, second to the presidential, with stunning views from the 18th floor of the very central District 1 CBD area & beyond. The comfort level of the bed is paramount in any hotel; where the JWM luxury matress topper ensured a very restful sleep. The software was as compatible to the hardware. The staff were very personal, where they all addressed me by name, quite an extraordinary achievement considering its far from the size of a boutique hotel. Further, the club lounge staff dedicated such enthusiasm to please their guests. There was absolutely no hesitation to peel my rambutan fruit from the seed. A very difficult task, that’s appreciated. The breakfast was extensive, yet never compromising on quality. The highlight of the hotel F&B was the JW Cafe buffet dinner; where the live lobster & crab station came at no extra cost. In my many travels around the capitals of the world, I have never come across such a treat in a luxury hotel. Finally I wish to express my special thanks to Katie Truong, the Loyalty Manager who took exceptional care of me in every detail. As well as to Yannick Freymann, Hotel Manager who comes with a wealth of experience in the luxury divisions of the Bonvoy Group of hotels. I look forward to my next visit after renovations are complete which will elevate the JW Marriott Saigon as the city’s very best. The room was spacious, comfortable, and had a lovely view. The location was perfect — close to everything. Everyone at the reception was very helpful. I also used the dry-cleaning service, which was efficient and fast.

We throughly enjoyed the breakfast spread and room service. The hotel is upgrading and lobby counters were moved to a different floor but there were staff to guide . Restaurant staff were attentive and housekeeping on our floor was pleasant and helpful. Pool and gym were a good size. We liked our city view as well . Hotel is very well located and walkable to main attractions Only minor downside was that our room phone didn’t really work and the voice quality was fuzzy and there weren’t any kid friendly TV channels ( only one baby channel ). Tv was also old and images were a tad fuzzy - would be good if it could also be linked with Netflix .

- 863vonp (8/5): Family trip to HCMC. - The hotel is centrally located and getting around was easy. We booked a club room and the enjoyed the lounge access. The buffet breakfast at the atrium had a big variety. The room is generally nice and big, but some areas need a bit of improvement - for shower facilities, the water pressure is weak and the water is not hot even at the maximum; and the room is too cold even if you adjust the thermostat. The hotel does not have washer/dryer facilities unlike many hotels in Japan/China but you can have your laundry done by the hotel. The pool is nice but the poolside cafe can offer more options e.g. pizza/hotdog etc. The spa is great - lovely staff and very relaxing. Staff are mostly very polite and warm. All in a very pleasant stay.

A special thank you goes to Chau, the front desk manager, whose professionalism and friendliness were truly top-notch. She quickly addressed the issues we had with our room, assisted us in extending our stay by an extra day, and even helped arrange our airport transportation. Marriott is very lucky to have her taking care of guests—she made our stay seamless and stress-free. We also want to express our gratitude to Van and Ronaldo, who came to our aid upon arrival when we encountered an issue with an airport taxi driver trying to change the fare. They stepped in immediately, calmed the situation, and handled everything with professionalism and care. Their assistance set a wonderful tone for our entire visit. The location of the hotel was excellent, and the dining experience exceeded our expectations. We especially enjoyed the Seafood Night buffet on Thursday, which was an incredible bargain for the amazing variety of choices offered. Overall, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. Highly recommended, and we are already looking forward to returning to this property on our next trip to Saigon.

I’ve stayed here before when it was an intercontinental and it was much more established. A few example: they failed to inform me when booking that the entire lobby bar would be shut off during my stay. They had big groups staying at the hotel that were just clogging up elevators in bathrobes and the pool. At checkin they informed me I had been « upgraded » to exactly the room I booked and paid for. Breakfast, while tasty is a war zone some days. On the positive side, pleasant lounge, very comfy bed and good housekeeping.

- DavidF378 (6/5): Good but with A/C challenges - The staff was responsive and friendly. The breakfast was outstanding. My concern is that the A/C system does not seem to be working in most rooms. It is either very cold or warm, and despite a thermostat, one cannot adjust the temp. I was given another room, but someone had clearly just been smoking in it. Worse, the smoke was being masked by a strong air freshener. I believe that for the rate and star number, the experience should have been better. Overall, the property is excellent and the hotel is in a very good location. ve nights.

- Paradise32867041501 (2/5): worst stay at JW Marriott hotels - My original booking was for 5 nights, but I stayed at the JW Marriott Hanoi hotel for one night: July 20th, 2025. Below are my views on good (+) and not-good (-) about this hotel. In the end, my final evaluation (the number of stars) is heavily based on the quality of my interactions with staff as a guest and a loyal member. Good things: + The breakfast restaurant had a large number of items, though it was super crowded and chaotic. + The gym is nice with enough equipment. The outdoor pool looks wonderful (I didn’t try, but walked around it) with a small green garden next to it. + The hotel is at the heart of the city, and thus you could walk to many attractions close by. Not-good things: Compared to other JW Marriott hotels, this is by far the worst I have ever encountered from outside to the inside (see below): - The people who escorted guests in front of the hotel didn’t even care to open the door when our Grab taxi arrived. - Compared to JW Marriott Hanoi, they do not have a person (holding a manager position) to welcome an ambassador member (to make you feel special as an elite member). Even there was a club lounge supervisor, he didn’t even care to come out to greet me (see the next item) - Though they had at least a suite available, they didn’t upgrade me until I told them that if they did not welcome me, I would stay a night and check out to another hotel. Then the person who (just passed the probation after working there for 2 months) checked me in said that she would come in and talk to her manager. A few minutes later, a lounge supervisor came out and said that they would upgrade me a suite. - Their welcome gift was by far the worst compared to all hotels that I stayed in this trip (clearly far worst compared to JW Marriott Hanoi): a few fruits and two bottles of tonic water. - Moving from Vinpearl Landmark 81 to this JW Marriott (which is higher in the chain), I expected a better welcome (or at least the same as the JW Marriott Hanoi). However, given the above under-treatment which appeared to me that they didn’t care about my staying at their hotel, I was too disappointed that I asked them to change my reservation to only 1 night (instead of 5 nights as in the original booking). They asked if a manager could come and talk to me, but by that time, it was too late and I do not have the mood to talk to any of their team. It was the right decision, as the Sheraton Opera Saigon, where I moved to, was the best in terms of recognizing ambassador elite (see my reviews for Sheraton Opera Saigon hotel). One would expect JW Marriott, which is supposed to be a higher standard, to be better, but this JW Marriott Saigon was not (by far). - At the breakfast restaurant, the staff didn’t even pay attention to taking my used dishes away (only when I asked them to do so). My observations at other tables showed that they focused on foreigners, though, I bet, most of them are not even ambassador members. - Their whole operations from outside to inside left me with the impression that they treated Vietnamese people (I was excited to speak to them in Vietnamese as I am a Vietnamese American) differently at this hotel (in a negative sense, of course). - The checked-in night, when I was outside, an assistant manager of the front desk sent me a note and a bottle of champagne apologizing for their mistreatment (I didn’t touch the champagne, of course). Oanh, the front desk manager, came to see me the following morning when I was at breakfast and tried to explain the situation, but at that moment, I lost interest in this hotel. Though she showed some sincere regrets, it was too late. - I already told my personal ambassador to talk to them about my 25th anniversary at this hotel, but my personal ambassador missed this hotel from the list of hotels. Nevertheless, even without a note from my personal ambassador, they should have done a better job in welcoming an ambassador to their hotel. Their team should learn from the teams of Vinpearl Landmark and Sheraton Saigon.

There were little things I've noticed that made our stay feel safe at all times. The outside staff was always aware. I was inside making change with the front desk while my wife was outside waiting to pickup food delivery. I saw her near the street talking to the delivery guys and in an earshot away, i noticed the outside staff was right there assuring her safety but not being intrusive. The entire team did not disappoint. Besides the great rooms and accommodations, i really wanted to highlight the staff at this property. They make the stay that much more enjoyable!

- katie23Wakefield (8/5): Mixed view of stay - I initially booked an apartment in the hotel. About three months later, I received an update from the hotel stating they had a new system, along with a new booking number. I noted the change but later realized the price had also increased. When I inquired, I was informed it was due to tax on apartments. I questioned this change as I had booked at the hotel. After two months of back and forth, they finally agreed to honor the original price, which was not a great first impression. I then booked a friend into the hotel and noticed that the address for my updated booking was slightly different from my original booking and the actual hotel my friend was I . I checked, and the hotel assured me it was the same property. However, upon arrival, we discovered it was in a separate building, accessible only through a shopping center. This was not what I had booked; I expected direct access to the hotel amenities like the executive lounge, pool, gym, and breakfast. Instead, we had to navigate through the shopping center to reach the actual hotel. As a result after just one day, we requested to be moved to the actual hotel building. Fortunately, the hotel honored our request the following day, but my second impression was disappointing also. I had queried this prior and should have been addressed prior. When raised at the hotel and pushed the hotel addressed. The whole apartment and separate hotel businesses is not clear and when we booked was not related at all. I would suggest even now with differing sites that it is made clear that the amenities at the apartments are really aligned to residences and that this building isn’t easily accessible to the hotel facilities. Also for those with prior bookings where there was no distinction this should be made clear to avoid issues on check in. Once we arrived at the actual hotel, the room was fantastic—spacious with a comfy bed. The rooms were clean and well-stocked with quality toiletries, bedding, and towels. The breakfast was excellent, and the food and drinks in the executive lounge were enjoyable. Service was top notch. However we were disappointed again after discovering that the hotel pool was closed on Sunday for an event, and we received no communication prior to our stay about this. While we were offered access to the apartment pool, it had limited facilities—no bar, no sun access, no Wi-Fi, and it was quite small. Guests should have the option to cancel their stay if the advertised facilities are unavailable. To make matters worse, we were awakened around 7:30am on the Sunday by a sound check for the event. The music was so loud that we couldn't relax in our room in the afternoon due to the event starting around 5pm. Eventually, we left the hotel for the rest of the evening because the bass of the music was significant, even in the executive lounge. A complementary shuttle to the airport was offered which was a nice touch but really shouldn’t have been needed …. Overall once we arrived the service was good, and staff addressed our concerns where possible. However, the initial and subsequent impressions, combined with the unavailable pool and intrusive music, raised doubts about this hotel.
- Happiness67026981696 (10/5): One of the Best JW Marriott Experiences We’ve Had! - We had an exceptional stay and would highly recommend booking a room with access to the Executive Lounge — the service and staff on that level are truly on another level. Although we arrived early, the team welcomed us warmly and even invited us to enjoy breakfast on both the day of check-in and check-out. The complimentary afternoon tea offered on both days was excellent, with a wide variety of choices. As Marriott Bonvoy members, we enjoyed additional perks, including a late 4 p.m. checkout, which gave us time to make full use of the hotel facilities. On our last day, we were even invited to a pizza-making class and treated to a complimentary buffet dinner — such thoughtful touches made our stay even more memorable. A special shoutout to Mia, Sophie, and Thu from the Executive Lounge for their outstanding hospitality. We’ll definitely be back for another staycation!
- johnoB4035XI (10/5): A great property with even better service staff! - Excellent property with a super attentive staff all around. But I have to point out two staff members in particular. Fairy at the front desk is provides a great first impression. She is super professional but with a friendly and personal touch. If you’re lucky enough to enjoy the wonderful Executive Lounge, the staff there are excellent; but none more than Thu, whose huge smile, friendly conversation and attentive service make you feel so welcome and comfortable that you almost forget that there’s an amazing city to explore. The personal touches, like remembering your name, drink and food preferences are things that set this crew above the rest. I’m a Plattinum Elite Bonvoy member with a good deal of travel experience throughout Asia. I can say that Marriott is fortunate to have the likes of Fairy and Thu as representatives of the brand.

- Nandini (5/5): Good average hotel. - The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel, is far from main attractions. We got food poisoning and it ruined the whole trip. Unfortunately when we got food poisoning the hotel was the only place we ate at. Cleanness was fair. House keeping dose not wash the shower and by the end of the trip the shower started smelling. They only changed towels.

- Storyteller588555 (10/5): Pleasant Stay at JW Marriott Saigon - I stayed at this hotel recently and I had a very good experience. The staff's attention to detail and their dedication is noteworthy and commendable. Miss Tien at the Lobby reception, Miss Thien at Market 39, and Miss Sophie at the Lounge...each of them showed consideration and care in their respective domain and made an big impact on me. Shout-out to the Chefs who work tirelessly behind the scenes to satify the guests' taste buds at all times. Chef Khan is warm, welcoming and helpful, and we developed a good rapport. Kudos to the whole team at JW - from housekeeping to frontdesk, concierge to culinary - each of them cared to care! I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning here on my next trip to Saigon.
- anastasia895 (10/5): Superb in every way! - I stayed here in June 2025 and must say that as Bonvoy member I had one of the best experiences with any of Bonvoy hotels. Location is just incredible, the Post Office, Notre-Damme Cathedral, the walking street, Ben Tahn market and many other attractions are within walking distance. The hotel is attached to a shopping centre which has an excellent food court offering Vietnamese, Cantonese, Japanese food and restaurants can deliver food to your room. The Executive Lounge deserves a separate praise! Excellent food choice throughout the day, premium beverages are offered during long happy hours, lots of exotic fruit all day long and the lounge has business meeting spaces. Really excellent value for money! Massive thanks go to the lounge team, Long and Ha went far and beyond to assist with every request. The ladies in the morning shift on 15/06 were also incredible throughout my stay (I’m sorry I don’t remember the names, I think one of them was Fong, they were very professional and attentive). I hope the hotel management reads my feedback as I want to endorse a member of concierge team who went to get me medication from the pharmacy when I was poorly. He spoke excellent English, translated and explained how the medication should be taken, went far and beyond to assist me to my needs when I felt vulnerable and I think with those skills he’d be wonderful addition to the executive lounge team. If I come back to HCMC I will only stay at this hotel!

And she offered exceptional supports during my stay. Was unable to arrange a single bed room for me while the twin bed size was small. Actually, my sleeping quality was really bad. The pillows were too soft. The quilt was too heavy. It affected my choice to pick the same hotel in my next business trip arrangement.

Check-in and check-out were quick and seamless, which I really appreciated after a long day of travel. The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable space to relax and work. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I was also impressed by the breakfast—there was a good variety of options to choose from. Overall, a great choice for business travelers.

- fransie0509 (2/5): Let down and stranded - A Shameful Experience from a Supposedly Reputable Brand - I’m honestly shocked by how poorly this situation was handled. When we got close we couldn’t access the hotel due to road closures, Over the phone I was met with what felt like a blunt “We can’t help you.” That was it — no alternative suggestions, no assistance, just what felt like a complete lack of care. What makes it worse is that Le Reverie, a nearby hotel had made the effort to guide their guests with an alternative suggestion of accessing their accommodation. They showed foresight and responsibility — qualities I expected from the JW Marriott brand especially given its big name and international reputation. Adding to the frustration, I had received emails from the hotel clearly stating that access during the closures was still possible. So which is it? Either the information was wrong, or the staff were completely unprepared to help guests navigate the situation. Either way, it’s unacceptable. In the end, we had no choice but to cancel our booking — we simply couldn’t reach the hotel. Not only was this incredibly stressful after an 8hr flight from Australia, it was deeply disappointing. These are not surprise events — they’re rehearsals for Vietnam’s Reunification Day, and there are still three more to come. The hotel has time to get it right, to show guests they actually matter. But if this first experience is anything to go by, I won’t be holding my breath. A truly poor showing from a brand that claims to be world-class. I expected so much more, and I’m 100% sure I would not of been the only one who suffered because of it.
- monochromepanda (10/5): Hotel worths revisiting - Have been staying this hotel in last 2 trips. Why? Primarily because it’s near to the office. But equally important is the service in this hotel. On the subject of services, I would like to comment that the executive lounge has great staff. One of them, Ms Sophie, remembered my beverage preferences in just one visit. Friendly and cheerful, helped me in some minor matters too. Great staff, great hotel. Coming back soon (this weekend indeed).

- benjaminbuttonn (8/5): Great Stay, But Mind the Traffic - Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the JW Marriott. I stayed in a one-bedroom apartment on the residence side, which was spacious and well-equipped—everything I needed for my trip. The interior is a bit dated, but everything functioned well, and it didn’t bother me. The staff were excellent, always attentive and quick to assist. The only hiccup? My first assigned room was already occupied—cue the awkward moment when I accidentally walked in on another guest! Thankfully, they sorted it out promptly. The hotel complex is super convenient, with convenient store, restaurants, and coffee shops downstairs. The location is central and close to most attractions, but there’s a catch: the street out front turns into a parking lot during rush hour. Even short trips could take 20+ minutes in traffic, making it slightly less convenient than hotels near the Opera House or Saigon Center. Final verdict? A comfortable, well-located stay—just plan around the traffic if you’re in a hurry!
