The rooms are super small, which I get is a NY standard, but it was even impossible to open the suitcase on the floor. The room was not very clean - the walls and carpet were dirty.

Quiet with excellent soundproofing so noise of nearby Manhattan Bridge did not disturb us. Excellent shower. Very helpful recommendations for places to eat. We appreciated this and tried a few of the suggestions - all good. We missed having facilities to make a hot drink. We only stayed 3 nights and the room was fine for this length of stay. But little space for suitcases and only a few clothes hangers so we would not have liked it so much for a longer stay.

Au sous-sol, il y avait à disposition un distributeur d'eau chaude, des assiettes, gobelets et couverts jetables, un distributeur avec des snacks, des boissons et des médicaments (genre paracetamol, ibuprofen.. ), et un distributeur de glaçons. C'était bien pratique! L'eau chaude dans le grand thermos sentait le désinfectant. Mais on ne le sentait plus avec in sachet de thé
- Marine (10/5): Idéal comme pied à terre - L'hotel est idéalement situé à Chinatown. Metro East Broadway juste à côté. Il est ouvert et accessible 24/24 avec un veilleur de nuit. Plein de commerces à proximité notamment mon café préféré à NYC Little Canal. La literie est au top ! Je recommande fortement cet hotel comme pied à terre. C'est le meilleur rapport qualité prix que vous pourrez avoir à NYC. Je reviendrai ! A savoir, que c'est petit peu bruyant, mais c'est le folkore New Yorkais, rien qui m'ait plus dérangé plus que ça mais à savoir si vous avez besoin de 100% calme. Les chambres sont en face du métro aérien, et la plomberie est assez bruyante, vous savez quand quelqu'un prend sa douche ou va aux toilettes.

- Hok-Hei (3/5): Really didn't meet expectations. - Staff was courteous when checking in baggage, and delivered them to room once it was ready. Access was easy no matter the hour. The room didn't have enough room for actual chairs and desks to work at. There is no air conditioning thermostat in the room, so temperature had to be adjusted by going down to the front and asking the staff.

- patrick (8/5): Great economy hotel on the edge of Soho and Chinatown close to transport and shops - I had a great stay. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet. It’s a perfect no-frills hotel that delivers exactly what you need without any hassle. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, reliable place to stay. A few things could be improved. The bathrooms could have been cleaner and would benefit from some re-caulking and general upkeep, and the towel bar was loose as well. The beds were also a bit uncomfortable. The complimentary shower gel and conditioner had an unusual scent that wasn’t very pleasant. Additionally, the vending machines and the basement area felt a bit strange and could use some attention to make them more inviting.

There's a train bridge right outside, but the sound was very very faint- like distant white noise. The bathroom was nice, and the daily cleaning service did a great job. The room had no individual temperature control, so sometimes it was a bit cold until they turned the heat up in the evenings. Q-tips in the bathroom would have been nice. No major complaints otherwise.

They even offered to hold our bags before and after check in. The room didn't have an individual temperature control so it was rather hot in the evening. The only way to cool it down was a fan and opening the window, but being by the subway that was rather noisy.

- A4700SFevelyng (10/5): Clean, quiet, and comfortable - Hotel Mimosa was clean, quiet, comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was stocked with all of the essentials. The hotel was a 5-minute walk from a subway station and close to a bus stop, so it was very easy to get around. There were also several options for delicious Chinese food just around the corner. During our visit NYC got lots of snow, and the hotel was quick to clear the area around the entrance of snow. It was especially nice that the staff held our luggage at the desk before our check-in time and after check-out, so that we could explore without carrying our suitcases around with us. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend Hotel Mimosa to anyone visiting the city!

- mirof131 (4/5): Basic with some serious issue - The rooms are very tiny, like the smallest I have ever been. The view and noise are really bad (I am attaching my view). My bathroom has issue where in the middle of the night a constant running of water could be heard from the toilet, I called the front desk and he came and checked it out and said I do not know why it makes this noise and I am sorry, meanwhile I was up for hours because of it. The staff was not welcoming at all (although the other two that I met briefly at the last minute seemed nice). Location is in the heart of Chinatown, if that's what you want and it is in walking distance to two different subway station. There is no amenities, and the room is very basic. I will never go back.

Even though the rooms do not have a refrigerator or microwave, there are communal ones located in the basement for guest use. The refrigerator is not big and guests put their departure date onto a post it note on their food. The room temperature can not be controlled. Although the temperature of the room is OK, it could have been warmer in February.

Everything was very clean. The rooms are pretty well sound.-proofed so the only noise was from other doors closing during the night. The pillows were too hard and high for me. I would have appreciated a flatter softer one.

- Brendan_de_souza29 (10/5): Great service in a small boutique hotel right smack at Chinatown - I stayed for six nights from Feb 10 to 16 and here are my honest views of the pros and cons Pros Very clean small family run boutique hotel with really excellent service, the staff are so friendly, they greet you every occasion they see you and are most willing to guide you Transportation wise you are very near to the subway Location in my opinion is great so many Chinese restaurants, cafes and bodegas a stone’s throw away and main Chinatown and little Italy a short walk away Rooms are decent size considering its New York and the rooms are well cleaned and maintained Ice machine and laundry machines at the basement including a vending machine and microwave Very decent pricing for New York hotels Cons If you don’t fancy being in an area with strong Chinese culture influence then you may consider another hotel Bodegas charge a lot for water so I suggest you get it from a large Chinese supermarket nearby where a 500ml bottle goes at 49cents before tax If you don’t fancy Chinese food you might have to look elsewhere I booked again for August but their summer pricing is expensive considering that voco hotel at broadway is charging just usd 60 more for the same period but then again usd 60 a night for 5 nights is usd 300 n that buys a lot of food All in I highly recommend this hotel

Personnels agréables. Certes excentré mais le subway est tout proche. De nombreux restaurants à proximité. Pour y dormir c'est très bien. On n'a pas tant entendu le train bien qu'il passe en face. Rien. Tout était bien. Nous y étions pendant la tempête, c'est une chambre pour dormir, pas pour y rester confiner. Mais le personnel ne peut rien pour la météo.

The hotel is with easy walking distances of two subway stations and only half an hour from the Wall Street which was a really nice walk to take. The hotel is small but the staff were very friendly and seemed keen to help if required. The room was quite small but had everything we needed and we only used it as a place to sleep as we were out from morning to night. The room was nice and warm as were the communal areas which was good due to the very cold time of year we were there. The bathroom was nice and spacious and had everything you needed with lots of hot water. I think the hotel was good value for money.

They shared local food recommendations, quickly gave us another comforter when we requested it (just needed more weight for sleep!), and were diligent when storing our items on our checkout day while my partner and I traipsed through the city. We stayed in one of the rooms with twin beds and they were comfortable. The space heater came in very handy during this February cold snap that brought outside temperatures to as low as -15 Fahrenheit. Water temperature was good, lighting was adjustable in the room. The rooms are pared down to the essentials, but the design is nice and it doesn't look like SKIMPING, just simplicity. Everything was clean and well kempt. There were no drawers in the room or a traditional closet space, but we didn't need that as there were hangers on a rack and enough space to fit our luggage. Conveniently located to public transit. Yes, there's a train right outside but the soundproofed windows dampen it significantly. One of the people in my party is a very sensitive sleeper and they didn't have trouble. Good value for our money and would be happy to return anytime!

Friendly daytime staff. No safety bars in the tub. No art on the walls. Hot and cold tub faucets labeling backwards. Staff didn't understand we wanted more wash cloths. Night staff barely acknowledged us.

- julianhopkins235 (10/5): A hotel in NYC which doesn’t break the bank. - So how does a small hotel nearer Chinatown than Times Square attract such good reviews and features at no 12 in Trip Advisors recommended hotels in NYC? An area full of high end hotels. Yes the rooms are small but they serve their purpose especially if you are out most of the day. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the staff were very welcoming. The hotel is situated away from top landmarks but it only takes 20 minutes on the F line to Rockefeller Centre and a walk to the 9/11 site takes a similar time. The Mimosa is situated near to a main rail bridge but the windows keep out the noise other than a purring when trains pass through. I was very impressed with the quad glazing. I’m not the best sleeper but had no issues at the Mimosa and we were at the front of the building on the 3rd floor. I guess the answer to why Mimosa scores so highly is that it is what it says it is. It might not be the most salubrious hotel but it also doesn’t charge extortionate rates. It serves its purpose. It may lack lack curb appeal but makes up for that in practicality and warmness. I can see why it scores so well.

- Mary (8/5): Cozy Chinatown stay in a clean hotel with no frills - Very friendly staff! Everyone who works there went out of their way to greet us when walking through the lobby on our way in or out. The room was clean and the bathroom was very nice. Toothbrush and toothpaste supplied! The bed was super comfortable. The hallway smelled very nice. The neighborhood is chock full of Chinese markets and restaurants, so there's always something to eat nearby. Our room faced the train tracks, but we were not bothered by noise. They did a good job of soundproofing the windows, but that also means you can't open them for fresh air. Basement had kitchen facilities and a vending machine for snacks. Our main complaint was that the room was very cold! We complained to the front desk and they said the rooms are all on a main thermostat, so there's no way to control your individual heat. It was main ly cold in the early evening. By the time we went to bed, it was more comfortable. Although the bathroom was a decent size (for NY) the room itself was SO tiny. Even for NY it seemed small. And there's no closet, only a very narrow rack with hangers. One nightstand. The carpet was old and worn in the room, but seemed clean.

Devi chiedere di farti pulire la stanza anzichè mettere il servizio pulizia di default. di solito è il contrario....quindi siamo stati i primi due giorni senza che venisse pulita la stanza.

- Erica (10/5): Great place to stay - The hotel is very clean, and the staff are extremely nice. There’s a cute little area in the basement with a refrigerator, ice, a washer and dryer. It’s a tiny hotel that packs a lot in it. The only downside to the property is the fact that it’s incredibly small. The room we had only had space on one side of the bed. But that’s really the only downside. And it’s New York, so it’s not really that surprising.
- 778allisonr (10/5): Hidden gem! - Inexpensive, clean, modest stay in Chinatown! Five minute walk to F train. So many cheap eats and coffee options! Quiet as a church! The front desk told me they had a full house and my room was on the top floor right across from the elevator—I neither heard nor saw anyone. My view was directly facing the Manhattan Bridge where I could watch the train all night, but with quadruple paned windows, it was a gentle sound like the ocean. I will definitely return!

- Jaedyne (1/5): terrible. - nothing. terrible experience. they did not have policy stated on booking website that only two could be in a room otherwise you have to pay an additional $25/night. after we checked in and went to our room he called us to let us know and when i went down to advise him he started arguing with me and talking over me. he was very rude and room was very small for price. i asked to just cancel he stated he couldn’t hep me with that and i had to wait on the phone with booking for a while making sure it got done before 12 or they would charge me for 2 nights instead of just one despite me staying NONE. When ansking for management he would never give me a direct answer as to when they would be on property. at the end i ended up going else where with a way bigger room and way better location for even cheaper. also think i heard someone having to ask to have their heat turned up….
- Jet51302052811 (10/5): Great stay! - Wonderful stay on Jan 18. We had to add an extra day to our already booked trip and found this gem of a hotel for the night. Cute place great location friendly staff and comfortable bed. Very reasonably priced! I will definitely stay here again when I come back!
