Will have to stay here again the next time I’m taking the Shinkansen out of Shin-Osaka station. The close proximity to the station makes it very easy to make your train with time to spare. No issues.

The hotel is consistently strong. Staff is friendly and professional, service is quick and they are helpful. Rooms are clean, well maintained and comfortable. Location is excellent, right next to the station, very convenient for exploring Osaka and beyond. Breakfast is good and everything runs smoothly. It is nice to see the same quality every time.That’s the Japanese way of doing things 😉 What didn’t you like Very little to mention. If I have to point out something, the rooms are a bit compact, which is common in Japan. For a longer stay with more luggage it can feel slightly tight. Other than that, everything is well organized.

- Mark Kevin (10/5): Fantastic location and Spacious rooms but at a price. - Property is conveniently located right next to shin-Osaka station and once entering the station, a few steps away from the Shinkansen gates (good home base if you plan to do a lot of day trips out of Osaka). Breakfast was very good, your typical continental breakfast on one end and local/ traditional dishes on another. Staff are also very friendly and have good English. In comparison to a lot of other hotels in Japan, these rooms are large with a nice size window (mine overlooked the city/trains, which I enjoyed). Rooms were also very clean on arrival and cleaned daily. My room was located facing the street and it was A little noisy with occasional ambulance sirens going off at odd hours (fairly brief though) but otherwise fairly quiet.

All the other bathrooms in japan including public toilets had very good bidets. This hotel had old fashioned bidets and also did not like that there was no walk in shower. Also there was no room in the lobby to eat take out food . We had to bring the food to our rooms unlike other hotels which provided that facility.

Concierge helped me ship my luggage to my next hotel in Tokyo with ease. The room was the perfect size for me and my wife and we could lay out our luggage on the floor while still having lots of room to move around it. Would prefer a regular shower curtain rather than the half glass wall section of the bathtub. Water still sprayed out of the tub when taking a shower. Bathroom has drainage outside of tub though so didn’t worry about it too much.

- ex-roadwarrior2018 (10/5): 2 minute walk to the Shin-Osaka station - We stayed here as a part of 5-destination trip in Japan. I reserved two king-bed rooms (one for myself and the other for my daughter & her husband). 4 of the 5 destinations were Marriott brands because I'm a lifetime Titanium member. Their reception area has several couches for guests checking in. They have a very nice executive lounge for snacks and drinks. Some people were using their laptop while viewing the Osaka nightscape. As with all Marriott brands, they provide roomwear which to relax in your room so bringing pajama is optional (they'll provide new one each day). We were on the 16th floor which made it easy to get to the executive louge. The reception desk staff is very friendly and competent. I had considered Westin Osaka, but having just 2 minute walk to/from the Shin-Osaka convinced me to stay here. It was a breeze to get to the hotel after arriving via Shinkansen train. Going to the Osaka Castle, Dotonbori, Namba and all other hotspots were very convenient using the rails. Finally, checking out and heading to our next destination was also a breeze. My suggestion is to install "Suica" app if you have iPhone. You can then link it to your Visa configured in your apple pay. Each time you need to add fund, you can do it quickly. I once didn't have enough when exiting out of the station gate, and took less than a minute to add fund and exit. You cannot use Japan rail service without this. Anyway, the room was spacious, clean and quiet. Elevator was fast so we didn't wait much each time to catch one. Getting to our destination was a breeze given we were in the train station within a few minutes walking out of the hotel.

- nicholasmD4097DQ (10/5): Surprisingly quality Courtyard next to the Shinkansen - I booked a King high floor room as a Titanium member. On day of check in I noticed I was changed to an Executive access King room high floor. I believe I get access from status anyway but a category upgrade is still an upgrade. On check in I made the mistake of heading to the ground floor from the station and the elevator was under maintenance. When coming from Shin-Osaka Station merely stay on the 2nd floor and take the exit close to McDonald's and just use the overpass to easily access the hotel and lobby which is on the same floor of the overpass. The room was surprisingly spacious, especially for Japan. While this is a Courtyard the room seemed closer in feel to a Sheraton-level. I think the value received vs. cost paid was quite good. The hotel is located on the north side of Shin-Osaka Station and is about as close as you can get to a major train station. As some of my local friends put it, there's nothing much to do in Shin-Osaka however in exchange for a lackluster local scene the hotel is much better in quality than most similar hotels further south closer to downtown and there's the convenience of being right next to a major train station. There's a proper executive lounge unlike many other Courtyards in Japan that I've stayed at which usually just have a coffee corner or snacks. Proper cocktail time in the evenings is a really nice amenity. I had breakfast on the lobby floor restaurant every day as I believe breakfast service in the lounge is simply snacks or continental style. The breakfast buffet was good with both Japanese and western style options available. They even had some local specialties like udon and takoyaki. Overall I was quite impressed with this hotel. I think comparisons to the Courtyard Honmachi are inevitable so I'll contribute. I think the one in Honmachi is closer to central Osaka and is probably better as a base for sightseeing and also a more happening local area around the hotel. That said, I liked just about everything else about Shin-Osaka. The hotel is much better with spacious rooms and amenities. Being next to Shin-Osaka Station, it's an easy choice if coming in to Osaka via Shinkansen or Itami Airport. With the Midosuji Line connecting Shin-Osaka to central Osaka I think a small additional commute is worth the higher quality and decent price of this hotel.
