- jepppster (10/5): A quiet oasis steps from Oxford Street – and a short walk from Hyde Park - Turning off Oxford Street into the side street where The Prince Akatoki sits, the noise of the city fades almost immediately – and once you step through the hotel's doors, it fades even further. That sense of calm and refinement sets the tone for everything that follows. The welcome was warm, the atmosphere beautiful, and the team genuinely friendly from the first moment. A particular highlight was breakfast with Olivier and his team – attentive, humorous, charming, and wonderfully present without ever being intrusive. They turned a morning meal into something that genuinely lifted the day. We spent most of our time exploring the city and didn't get to make full use of the hotel's facilities – yet somehow a long weekend felt like a two-week holiday. That says everything about the atmosphere this team creates. Thank you to everyone – front desk, breakfast, room service, housekeeping, and all the faces in between. You made it special.

She was not only friendly and attentive, but clearly highly skilled in her craft. She was able to provide lots of useful tips and tricks on how to prepare the perfect sushi. She was happy to help and also gave us great advice and recommendations on how to make our very own dishes at home. It was a fantastic experience, backed by quality ingredients, well trained waiting staff, welcoming restaurant hosts and a restaurant that felt sophisticated and professional. Thank you Kazuyo for proving the perfect experience, a perfect activity for a romantic date.

From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome, even though we arrived 30 minutes before our reservation. The hospitality immediately set the tone for the evening. We chose the omakase experience, and it was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was beautifully prepared, fresh, and full of flavor. Chef Kazuyo and Toni were both fantastic throughout the meal — attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. The food was easily a 10/10, and the service was just as impressive. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back.

Sitting at the bar allowed us to watch master chefs Kazuyo-san and Jhun-san prepare each authentic dish with remarkable precision. Beyond their obvious technical skill, both chefs were incredibly welcoming and shared the story behind every ingredient. The yellowtail—which is quite rare in the UK—was a highlight, and the scallops delivered fresh from Hokkaido were truly phenomenal. I highly recommend this amazing dining experience.

Our Sushi Chef Jhun was absolutely fantastic, a truly skilled chef with unbelievable talent, great wit and a huge amount of knowledge. The experience was approximately 2 hours and my husband & I thoroughly enjoyed the experience from start to end. There was plenty of sushi to indulge in and we took away some great skills to try at home. Thank you Jhun for making the whole experience so enjoyable. You really are a talented chef.

- AP1888 (6/5): No bellboy during check in or check out. No offer to assist with luggage. - Gorgeous hotel but unfortunately a bit disappointed with the repeated lack of luggage assistance. Arrived to the hotel in the early afternoon and struggled through the building with 3 pieces of luggage on my own. There was no bellboy or any staff in the front. I asked during check in if they have a bellboy. They tell me yes, he’s just busy at the moment. Same thing when I left, I checked out and had no offer of assistance to get my luggage down the stairs to the cab. I asked them where is the bellboy, they tell me they’re not sure and the reception staff after waiting for some time came to help instead.

The premise and rooms are beautifully kept, and the location is on a peaceful street but a short walking distance to Hyde Park and the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street. A special mention to Ahmed, who consistently greets me and my family with a friendly smile, wishing us a good afternoon or evening every day. He is always attentive and checks if we need anything. I was particularly impressed by his excellent Arabic-speaking skills, which made our experience even more comfortable. The housekeeping team is also incredibly friendly and takes great care of the room, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness. I would also like to highlight Henry, who has been very helpful and always offers assistance whenever needed. In addition, Sid has provided astonishing support with bookings, making everything smooth and hassle-free. Overall, a fantastic experience with truly outstanding staff.

I chose this hotel last minute, and I don’t regret it at all. The interior is minimalistic, but the location is fantastic, the staff are amazing, and it has everything I find important. I think the hotel is a bit underrated. It is a lovely hotel. It is more mimalistic than what some might expect from a five-star hotel, but still very nice! I love Marylebone, Mayfair, Chelsea, Belgravia, and Knightsbridge—and they’re all just a 10–30 minute walk from the hotel. * For reference, I stayed in an executive room

It’s just a great boutique hotel with the added quirk of being Japanese owned and clearly aimed at the Japanese business traveller. We had a very comfortable and quiet double room on the second floor, bathroom was hi-tech and possibly a little over complicated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn’t experience any other facilities such as the restaurant or whiskey bar but both looked great. Very convenient location a short walk from Marble Arch. Not really sure what I’m writing this as the Prince Akatoki is a well kept secret!

- Veronica (10/5): Best hotel stay in London!! - Staying at The Prince Akatoki in London was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had, and I only stayed 2 nights. I wish I could have stayed longer and I will absolutely come back here and recommend this hotel to others. From the moment I checked in, Hikaru made me feel welcome and at ease. I was offered champagne or sparkling tea at check in and Hikaru helped me take my bags up to my room. My ChromeCast ended up not working on the TV in my room, and as soon as I told Hikaru, he sent IT to the room to help me and then eventually moved me into a new room with a working TV. Honestly, he made the switch of rooms so easy. I mentioned to him I was vegan (so I wouldn't be eating the little cookies that were in the room when I got there), and the next day when I came back from work, there was a lovely plate of fruit and a welcome note. I truly felt so at home, so comfortable, so relaxed -- it was perfect. When I checked out, Mayu, Maram, and Henry all helped me and wished me safe travels. Henry helped me with my bags and took them to my car for me. Truly the best staff. The cleanest hotel. SO comfortable. Absolute 10/10 experience. THANK YOU! Nothing, everything was perfect in my opinion!

She checked us in and took care of all our needs. Spacious, clean and very well equipped rooms with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Delicious breakfast. From the moment of arrival, it was clear that attention to detail here is not an afterthought, but a philosophy. Whether in the artful mix of traditional ryokan interiors, Japandi freshness, and classic British architectural fittings, or in the zen-like ambiance of its small yet perfectly designed wellness centre, complete with Technogym equipment and subtle bonsai inspirations, every element felt considered, intentional, and deeply calming. The traditional Japanese breakfast could rival any I have experienced in Kyoto: precise, balanced, and quietly beautiful. The turndown service was equally thoughtful, with Yukata folded with care, lavender-scented pillow treatments, and a perfectly placed bottle of water with glass. Each gesture, refined yet unassuming, contributed to a sense of completeness. Taken individually, these details would already constitute an exceptional stay. And yet, over dinner at TOKii, I found myself asking: why do I feel as though I am no longer in London? The answer, unmistakably, was service. Having stayed in many a five-star hotel where service is held as the ultimate benchmark, I can say with confidence that the team at The Prince Akatoki offers something far rarer. Their presence is genuine, predictive, caring, and naturally sophisticated, never rehearsed and never imposed. It is a form of hospitality that feels instinctive rather than instructed. This review is not intended as an unveiling of the hotel’s many charms, though they are considerable, but rather as a sincere expression of gratitude. Thank you for transforming a simple stay into something closer to sanctuary. I could not recommend The Prince Akatoki more highly. And I hope that, for however long you stay, you too find yourself suspended, if only briefly, between London and Tokyo, in a world that only The Prince Akatoki could so beautifully imagine.

I was travelling from Australia for business, and after a long and exhausting journey (around 35 hours of travel), I arrived feeling completely worn down. The moment I stepped into The Prince Akatoki, I immediately felt taken care of. Arian, Kara, Adri, and Dolores were all on duty at the time and made me feel genuinely welcome, like I could finally exhale. I have high standards when it comes to hotels, and this one truly exceeded them. It’s beautifully designed, impeccably clean, and located in a lovely area. What stood out most was the attention to detail and the quality throughout—it all felt considered and elevated. Ultimately, it was the people that made this hotel stand out as on of the best I have ever stayed out (and I have done a lot of travel). Thank you Adrian and team, you made my experience a lovely memory. The great features I would call out - superb breakfast and mini bar that were included with my stay, high ceilings and very comfortable beds, tea and robes in the room. Cute area by Marble Arch, very walkable and tube close by. Incredible staff!

She was very friendly & attentive. The room was relaxing & tranquil. I love the concept that it is an escape from the hustle & bustle of the city & modern life & it was a real sanctuary. From the warm, glowing lighting, to traditional Japanese robes & bath salts, the little touches made a big difference. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful escape. - callumswanston (10/5): Tokii Sushi Making Masterclass - Amazing Food, Great Atmosphere and a lot of fun! - For our anniversary, my partner and I attended the Tokii Sushi Masterclass on Saturday 5pm. The hotel & restaurant is well located and very beautifully decorated. There were only 4 people (us and another couple) for this masterclass, but up to 6 people can book. It’s very intimate, with spaces on the counter opposite our sushi chef, Toni. He offered us water and complimentary green tea on arrival, before he started the class. Toni was very friendly, funny and incredibly informative. He definitely made the experience as special as it was, and made sure to answer all of our questions about his favourite sushi, how to make certain rolls, and where we could get equipment and ingredients to do it ourselves at home. We were able to make two different types of maki roll, a cucumber maki and California roll, and also a huge hand-roll with salmon belly. We also made both tuna and salmon nigiri. Toni was incredibly helpful in first demonstrating and then offering advice on how to perfect the different types of rolls. It was tricky but he was very complimentary of our skills as first timers! The sushi itself was delicious, as were the condiments (spicy mayo, ponzu sauce, and of course wasabi). Since we made a whole roll of each type each, there was plenty of food. We were stuffed after eating, and were also offered complimentary sparkling sake and miso soup. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend the experience, and can’t thank Toni enough for making it so special and teaching us a new skill.

Great quality toiletries, bathrobes, food, Japanese inspired decor, free sodas and lots of water in the room, coffee in the room was great and bed super comfortable, quiet room, aircon that works! Turn down service and all of the small touches made this one I will return to for sure. WiFi was not great and difficult to connect to. Couldn’t not get the cast to the TV to work.

The generosity of CHEF TONI on sharing his knowledge, wisdom, was very special. Not ony learned how to prepare few japanese sushi dishes, but the way he shared his passion was remarkable. And the Hotel Team, Atmosphere, was very special as well.

She was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable and a great teacher allowing us to make some great sushi rolls on the day as well as insights for us to continue practicing and making sushi at home! I can definitely recommend doing this sushi masterclass at Tokii!!

Dolores at the Front Desk made check-in fast, efficient, and ensured we had the information we needed for a great stay. The restaurant, Tokii, was outstanding. The sushi was fresh and prepared in many unique and delicious ways. The sushi chef is truly five star. The staff of the restaurant, Georgia, Ahbi, and the dining room manager, all worked hard to make us feel welcomed, valued, and appreciated. We highly recommend this hotel and restaurant. We will definitely be staying here on all future visits to London.

Although we informed reception the evening before and checked out the next morning, we were still charged for one unused night. We chose this property expecting the care and personal attention typically associated with a boutique hotel. However, the response we received felt more aligned with the rigid policies of a large chain, which was particularly disheartening during such a difficult time.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, with beautifully arranged ingredients and the subtle aroma of seasoned rice in the air. Our instructor Kazuyo was patient, knowledgeable, and passionate, guiding us step-by-step through the art of crafting perfect rolls. We learned how to properly season sushi rice, slice fresh fish with precision, and roll everything tightly using traditional bamboo mats. What I loved most was how hands-on the experience was—by the end of the class. Not only did I leave with new culinary skills, but I also gained a deeper appreciation for the artistry and care behind every piece of sushi. It was fun, interactive, and incredibly delicious. I’d highly recommend this class to anyone who loves food, creativity, and trying something new! 🍣 Thank you Kazuyo!
