Kenzi-Li (3/5): I would of rather stayed at other hotel - The lobby has such a beautiful interior. I love the traditional look for Malaysian shapes within the design. The food was delicious and would go back to enjoy the restaurant. As it is an old hotel, it understandably doesn’t function properly however it does not accurately represent a 5 star hotel. My aircon wasn’t cold and the shower and bath both had faults. Towards the end of my stay the water went rusty as well as a decrease in water pressure. On the first morning of my stay, houskeeping understandably tried to enter my room while I was in there as I did not have do not disturb turned on. However the first time they opened the door they couldn’t open the door fully due to the extra lock but then a few minutes later they tried again when it was clear they could not enter. As a single travelling female this was a very uncomfortable experience. When approaching my discontent to reception about the aircon and housekeeping incident, I did not think their response was accommodating to the 5 stars. I found the reception quite unapproachable and unfriendly.

M (8/5): A pleasant stay! - The room is clean and spacious. Location is convenient, close to the public transit and shopping malls. Staff members are friendly and helpful. The AC is not working well although we notified the front desk. TV is old and small. Old towels need to be replaced for a five stars rated hotel.

Brenda (9/5): - Lovely traditional style hotel with a stunning foyer. Staff very friendly, especially the concierge who's name I cannot remember. Some of the rooms, as mentioned in previous reviews, are dated and need refurbishment but we found it to be very comfortable nonetheless. We had a room overlooking the pool which we liked and the balcony was much bigger than expected. There is noisy building work going on but as we were out most days it didn't impact our stay and I knew before I booked. The Sunday we chilled out by the pool was very quiet. I'd like to mention that the hotel should really invest in new sunbed mattresses as they were exceptionally lumpy and tatty.

Simona (9/5): Excellent location and pleasant rooms - We had a great stay and actually extended our stay up to a total of two weeks. The studio room is highly recommended for longer stays, as you have a kitchinette and large fridge (no dishes and cutlery, however, so take this into account when you plan your trip). The room is really comfortable, and the cleaning staff very helpful (in our case, on the 5th floor, esp. Mr. Saddam). The location of the hotel is excellent, just a few steps away from the Pavilion, and the large swimming pool is wonderful for relaxing after tours or visiting the city. This time there was only one usable sun umbrella (it seems that all the rest had been removed for repairs), but you could move the loungers under the shadow of the pool bar roof, so there was no big problem. Breakfast offers a wide variety of Malay, Indian and Chinese options. The reception staff was very friendly and professional. Thanks a lot, esp. to Ms Zan, who remembered us from our previous stays at Royale Chulan and made sure we had a pleasant time once again. In previous years the salad selection at breakfast was much better, including some Arabic options, such as hummus. This time the salads and fruit platters were a little limited, so reincluding some Arabic options and a wider variety of fruits would be better.

Simona (9/5): Relaxing city break in KL - The location is excellent, very close to the Pavilion Mall and to Bukit Bintang. The hotel has beautiful premises and a very big pool for such a central area. During our stay there were very few people using the pool, so the atmosphere was very relaxing. The studio room is big and comfortable. We particularly appreciated the services of Mr. Saddam from the cleaning staff on the 5th floor, as he always promptly responded to our requests and adapted to our schedule, making our stay totally stress-free. The reception staff at check-in was also very nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet includes Malay, Chinese and Indian options, which were sufficient for us, but guests who prefer more Western options should take this into account.

Hema (5/5): - Location Very slow to resolve problem. Upon chk in at 1530..i discovered the room tv, fridge and the safe were not working. I made 2 to 3 calls about these problems and it was acknowledged by receptionists and operators. The technician came and assured that it will be resolved. I even gave the hotel the permission to enter my room to resolve all these 3 problems before i went out to Pavillion. After 3 hours, i came back it was not rectified all these 3 issues. It was then then guy receptionist immediately resolved it by changing the room from 272 to 251. Kudos to that Malay receptionist. Thank you.

anita (1/5): - stuff were awesome . The hotel room 511 was full of mold, broken cupboard, ripping apart. Molds in the Aircon area, bathroom full of mold no hot water, power socket ripping apart, phone not working. There were blood stains on the blanket. We left the hotel that night itself I paid so much of money for this crap. I cancelled all my booking.
siti rohaidah (10/5): Berbaloi dan puashati - Kali ni pergi rasa sgt berbaloi. Dpt bilik yg bersih, selesa, ekon yg sejuk tp xde wangi pulak mcm hotel2 bertaraf gini. Apapun memg puashati. Will repeat again soon Cuma tv je tak function maybe maintenance boleh double check
Iskhandar (5/5): - Strategic location Over price and the furniture is outdated and some room equipment was broken or not working. The hotel needs renovation and better maintenance.

Hissa (8/5): الاقامه جيده نوع ما واتمنى من اداره الفندق الاهتمام بالنقاط المطروحه اعلاه - موقعه وسعه الغرف شرحه . النظافه الغرف فيها غبار وبالذات الكبت غبار قوي لم استطع وضع ملابسي فيها وايضا الحاويات التي موجوده في الغرفه ليس عليها كيس زباله اكرمك الله وعدم تنظيف الارضيه بالمكينه .

Zabarina (9/5): Pleasant otherwise - Selection of room type, facilities, location An incident whereby a housekeeping staff took without permission the toiletries bag which for days was placed next to the sink in the toilet for the family. Infact, we did remember clearly Not switching on the ‘ Do Housekeeping’ request sign that day as we came back shortly after our breakfast to the room. The supervisor told us that the staff “thought the toiletries bag as rubbish”???!!! This was a first ever unpleasant surprisingly incidenta that we experienced as hotel guests ever. Please do take strong note upon this incident.

Osman (3/5): - ROOM - Bilik tidak dibersihkan secara sempurna, terdapat biskut lama di atas lantai dan di dalam peti terdapat lebihan cili sos yang telah ditinggalkan oleh guest lama tidak dibuang semasa pembersihan dibuat. Terdapat lipas telah menjalar di dinding di meja kerja.
