Guest Reviews
- zee (2/5): Appalong hotel - Appaling hotel and staff do not stay here i didnt stay even one noght walked out and booked another hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): TOP LAGE!!!
Man sollte kein Luxus erwartet.
- burco (8/5): Next door to blue mosque - Very helpful staff, clean room and the hotel was bang in the centre of markets and next door to blue mosque
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- M.A. (6/5): Location:A+. Everything else: get what you pay for - The location can't be better. Close to the main historic sites and metro station. The blue mosque is across the street. And Haiga sophia, Topkapi are at walking distance.
The hotel is small and so is the room. You basically get what you pay for. Being alone, the size of the room didn't bother me.
- Jordan (8/5): unbelievable view - What a location: Turkish breakfast (included) on the terrace with a perfect view of Sultanahmet. They also had a cheap shuttle service to the airport when we left.
- ashhad (8/5): Great Location, Nice People OK rooms. - It is located within walking distance of main attractions of Istanbul with easy transport access to other parts of the city. Hotel staff is friendly and cooperative. Although the breakfast was not included, manager offered me a complimentary one. Rooms are small and OK. But you will spend only few hours there just to sleep so its fine.Overall a very good experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good area - Frendly hotel close to all viting site. Good area.
- Andrej (8/5): Great location - Location was great behind the great mosques. Staff is very friendly and helpful. parking is very expensive if you want over night security...
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Great location, but terrible room. broken mirror, broken safe, paper thin doors so we could hear every detail of our neighbors. The A/C worked, but was finicky, odd smells... etc.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Matratzen sehr schlecht, Schimmel,Staub, unsicher!
- Jakob Arthur (8/5): Location, location, location! - Small and cozy hotel, right beside the blue mousqe. Needs a little TLC, but only if you're super picky. Clean bed sheets, clean towels every day - the bed was made every day.
The only we thing that some may find problematic, is you can hear absolutely everything in the hotel.
Super friendly, relaxed and very helpfull staff - we felt at home immediately. Would choose it again if we went for a second trip.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Simple hotel but near the center - The staf very nice but the hotel is not as described on the internet
- Setara (10/5): Istanbul Trip - The receiptionist was very good and friendly, helpful. I am very pleased for his work. Guest should get this type of helper when they actually need. I had problem and he helped us very friendly way and work was successful. Many many thanks to him specially.
- C (6/5): Breakfast and the Blue Mosque - My husband and our two sons spent six days discovering Istanbul in mid August and stayed at the Arasta Hotel. Given its amazing location within minutes on foot from the Blue Mosque which constitutes the breathtaking view from the breakfast terrace on the fourth floor and Haghia Sophia and the Topkapi PAlace, the Arasta is very good value. More bed and breakfast than hotel, we found the staff kind, smiling and helpful. Ayhun on reception even took our boys off to the right cafe to watch some football match one evening and brought them back safely. The rooms are small but fine if you just want to sleep. Perfect for the tourist who wants to get out and see Istanbul .
- Diana (6/5): Great location, ok hotel - Hotel is steps away from the Blue Mosque which was very convenient for us since we were in town to sightsee. Hotel is ok, just the basics. Staff was pushy trying to sell us tours pretty much we went past the front desk. Given that the facilities are on the older side and the staff was a bit intrusive, all in all just an okay stay.
- Helen (2/5): Utter dump - 1. Tiny rooms
2. Overpriced
3. Front desk manager dodgy
4. Crappy beds and linen
5. Noisy
6. Poor security
- Verified traveler (8/5): Near everything. - The room is realy small, but the hotel is behinde Aya Sophia and from a walkable distance of everything that you want to see.
The neighborhood is very good with nice restaurants.
- Angie H. (4/5): Location Only Good Thing About This Hotel - The location of this hotel is perfect. The rest of it was not - the photos are very misleading. Our room was literally falling apart (paneling coming off the walls, water stains on the walls and tile ceilings) and the sheets had holes and stains, which were not changed until our last day. We assumed there used to be a light in the shower, where there was a hole in the ceiling stuffed with tissue. Only one of the outlets worked, the wi-fi only worked when you were down in the lobby or on the terrace and we could count every spring in the mattress. If all you're looking for is a cheap room in a good location and don't care about anything else, the hotel will be fine. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable room, I would look elsewhere.
- Nevin lobo (10/5): excellent hotel - enjoyed the stay lovely room very clean awesome staff ... Best location easy access ...... amazing breakfast .....10/10 overall will always book this hotel when I visit Istanbul
- Daniel86 (10/5): Friendly hotel with excellent location - Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean with daily cleaning service and fresh towels. We had a perfect view to the Blue Mosque from our bed. Breakfast was offered on the top floor with a nice terrace and the food was abundant. All in all, Arasta Boutique Hotel represents an excellent opportunity for those who want to stay in the heart of the Hagia Sophia/Blue Mosque area, but don't want to spend too much on accommodation. Certainly, don't expect anything luxurious, but a very friendly and tidy hotel. If I have the chance to visit Istanbul again, I won't hesitate to stay again at Arasta Hotel.
- Abdulnabi (8/5): Very good location of the hotel to the tourists - The stay was very good and the location of the hotel is great. The price is fine. They need to take care of the cleanliness a little bit.
- Olga (6/5): the hotel location is good and close to everything - i would go and choose the same hotel , amazing staff
- DJ (4/5): good location although noisey - Room requested not available, TV, internet and bathroom light were not working and needed repairing. Loud music nearby in restuatrants, dogs barking. Owners pleasant but room expensive for what was provided.
- DiLullo (8/5): - For a small hotel, it was very convenient to all major attractions and within walking distance. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. Rooftop breakfast area was excellant. M&M Chicago
- Frankie (2/5): Great location but unclean and not worth the money - The location was brilliant and the staff were friendly but that is as far as it goes. The room was dirty and smelt damp. We were in the bottom floor room and we could hear every conversation going on in the reception and when they went to the toilet which was a cupboard next to our room. The shower leaked all over the bathroom and after the first day they stopped bothering to clean our bathroom not even bothering to give us toilet paper or empty the bin. The location is brilliant but it's not enough to pay the price we did for such an unclean and noisy room. Disappointing.
- Brock family (6/5): close to everything - The name of the hotel is deceptive, 'boutique' leads one to believe that it is something really special. It is a budget hotel, perfectly acceptable and acceptably clean. It is a bit ramshackle but there is a great view of the Blue Mosque from the front of the hotel and a sea view from the back. The big plus is that it is withing walking distance of all of the major sights and close to the tram for the more distant ones. I would stay here again.
- Barbara (6/5): Good hotel for short stay to see the sights - Very good location for all the main sights. Our room was extremely small and various small items - eg light bulbs etc needed fixing - apparently all the rooms are having a makeover soon so all this might improve. Overall, it was reasonably comfortable but could have been btter.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent - We were very happy. The location is awesome, as is the breakfast and service. The rooms were clean. Relaxed atmosphere... Much like home :)
- Kristy (8/5): Right location - Recently stayed at the Arasta Boutique hotel. Honestly, the rooms were small but they were cleaned very well and the location outweighed the size of the room. We were literally next to the Blue Mosque and very close to other great attractions. Be warned that when you stay next to the mosque, prayer is belted out of speakers many times a day, starting at 5:55am. We interacted with 4 staff: a mother and son, a visitor helping and another gentleman. The mother, son and visitor were great. Helped as much as possible. The fourth gentleman really didn't need to be there. Tired, irritated and didn't help at all.
Overall- mostly great service, great location. Would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dirty, dirty, dirty - Location was great, but don't expect clean sheets.... er, or clean anything! Soap is reused from one customer to the next. Dirt and grime everywhere. Stained quilt. No top sheet provided. Smelly towels.
- Rysiu (8/5): Tiny but good - Stayed for 4 nights in this tiny room locatedbin a great spot. Still very good value for money, but (sort of) luckily my wife decided not to travel with me so the small size was not too much of a factor. There were a few things that did bother me, the toilet lid woukd bang you in the back whener you sat down, water took ages to get to temperature, and the automatic lights on the stairs would turn on just as you finished climbing / ascending, and there were a couple of blackouts during the stay (with no backup power), however for the money there really is not much to complain about here.
- Alexander (8/5): - great center of old town everything in walking distance
- rwhiffen (8/5): Great location, friendly and helpful staff - This is a small 6-room hotel, bordering on a bed and breakfast. Boutique in every sense of the word, but the price, location and views from the terrace are awesome. The only thing I would have liked is a new mattress, ours wasn't the most comfortable. Everything else about the room was great. Take the metro and tram to the hotel, don't bother with an expensive (and usually stuck in traffic) taxi. The restaurants in the neighborhood offer great dining options. They offer Turkish breakfast, which you should read up on before hand so you know what to expect. I loved it, but I can understand if someone was expecting something different might be disappointed.
- Wonderer (6/5): Great But.. - We loved the Hotel , However they double booked us and moved us to another Hotel the last night without compensation. Not sure if I would us this Hotel again, Had they compensated us I would have ignored the mixup. Overall the staff was friendly and the rooms were very convenient .
- Simon (8/5): Perfect for sightseeing - I chose this hotel purely because it was close to a lot of the local attractions. Our room overlooked the Blue Mosque and most things we wanted to do were within minutes walk. It maybe wasn't quite the boutique hotel it claims to be but the staff were very helpful and if you're visitng just for the sights this is a great place to stay.
- stacy (6/5): arasta hotel in sultahamet, istanbul - This hotel is perfect to see the blue mosque and ayasofia...literally only steps away. Furnishings are decent if you get one of the rooms facing the mosque. Not all rooms have a view of the mosque and the ones that don't are very small and sparse. Our water was turned off once which made it difficult to get ready for the day. Keep in mind that they charge in euros and not Turkish Lira! Hotel staff was friendly and the front desk is staffed 24 hrs/day.
- Marwan (10/5): The hotel is close to most hestroical places! - Well,it's really a very magnificent kind of hotels, small but comfortable.Great hospitality and very warm smily and helpful staff.Almost a walk-distance away of most must-see places.
- Ronaldo (10/5): Arasta Boutique Hotel location, location, location - The Arasata Boutique Hotel location is the best ever. It is located 2 min far from Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. The staff is very very kind and always happy to help and the price was amazing good. Very good hotel I really recommend it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): OK but - The room was a bit smelly, maybe it had not been used for a while. This is equivalent to a standard 3 star hotel in Europe. The staff was friendly though.
- Amba (10/5): Aristea Boutique Hotel, Blue Mosque Istanbul - The Hotel was just right. We had a picture window composed ENTIRELY of the Blue Mosque!
Nothing negative. They are a tiny family run hotel, with only have 7 rooms but they have a roof terrace/breakfast/ coffee area overlooking the Blue Mosque which is to die for. They were also very very helpful and charming, - which is not always the case in Turkey!
