Guest Reviews
- Thomas (2/5): Never, Never, again! - Never, Never again!
- Matthew (8/5): Good - It was what i paid for, had a little trouble checking in due to the language barrier. And i am slightly concerned on if i checked out properly. But aside from that its perfect for a solo traveler on a budget.
- MASSIMO (8/5): Buono - Stanza e bagno puliti
- Guy (8/5): - Nice cheap room. Small and clean, working shower, lock on door, close to the terminal.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There is no indication inside the building nor on the door of the apartment that there is a Pitagora Guest House. The owner came in for check me in almost half an hours after he was called on his cell knowing in advance my arrival time .
- Verified traveler (4/5): - There is no front desk at this place not really a hotel more a bed sit
- Verified traveler (6/5): The room is ok for the price - Everything is ok. The location of area is 5 minutes from Termini trains and buses stations in Rome. The room is smaller than expected. Add $3.5 euro per person for each night for City taxes. Add $5 euro for air conditioning per night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very near Termini Station.
Personale inesistente.
- dj (4/5): Location - Good location. Good for the price.
Other than that, it's outdated. Small rooms.
No housekeeping. No front desk.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Wait the manager about 20 minutes. No slept at the via Milano 23 but he send me to another address. Very very small window!!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Perplesso - Stanza troppo piccola e cambio di indirizzo all ultimo momento
- John (4/5): - We had to wait for the owner on arrival who wanted cash not cards, he then charged us local tax and air con, breakfast was a coffe and coisant , location is good that's about it . He did not clean room we ha a few bites and was not available even for toilet roll .
- Verified traveler (4/5): - When I arrived, the manager walked me to a different building a few blocks away. The accommodation was what I had reserved, but it was off-putting. The walls were very thin, so bring ear plugs, but it was really easy to get to the train station and get to buses, the underground train, and taxis.
- Brian (10/5): Go there! - I was really impressed by the room & facilities. I booked a single room with shared outside bathroom but was delighted to be given one with one inside and a huge very comfortable bed. Terrific value and highly recommended
- Sean (6/5): - Pros:
Short walk to/from Roma Termini
Near restaurants/bars
Owner very friendly
Felt safe walking around neighborhood
Wifi was excellent
Cons:
Towels were rough on the skin
Noisy at night from street traffic
Great for one night stay. Didn't have breakfast due to having to catch an early morning flight.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Even though we paid as soon as we arrived this hotel still charged my credit card and refunded it for some strange reason. This left me out of pocket as I was refunded less in £s than I was charged. Beware of this.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Good location, not great service - We were told we'd receive breakfast in the morning but it never came, there were no staff on-site and no contact details provided if we required assistance. The hotel is on the 6th floor of a building, above a backpackers hostel and there is a bar outside which makes for a noisy stay. To get up to the 6th floor with luggage, there is a tiny, rickety old elevator that can fit a maximum of one person and one bag, or two people with no bags. The room itself was fine and a good size but we were charged 5 euro extra per day for air conditioning.
- Karen (6/5): Lovely trip to rome - It was clean and tidy. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Manager was friendly and helpful. Only bad thing was the road noise but that is expected in the centre of the termini. You do become accustomed to it though after a night. Excellent location for exploring Rome, especially if you cannot speak Italian, you just ask for the termini and everyone directs you. Air cooling fan was a added bonus, especially on the hot evenings, and it was quiet and free.
- Vaibhav (6/5): - It was a good affordable hotel if you want to stay near Rome termini station with affordable price.
If you are a tourist, who will spend most of the time roaming around the city, it is a good choice. Basic facilities for night stay are there
- Loren (6/5): clam chowder - You're looking for wishy-washy, you got it.
- Loren (4/5): Survival in Rome - We had a hard time getting into the place as no one was around. A note was left on the outer door saying to call this number and someone would stop by. Our cell phone does not work outside the U.S. so we were pretty sell screwed. I begged a passerby to use his cell phone and the manager or owner did come. He wanted as little to do with us as possible and when we asked about using a phone to call a cab he said there was a pay phone in the train station about 4 blocks away that we could use. Our room reminded me of a prison cell without the enhancements. We got by though and our room was close to the train station so that was a plus.
- Istvan (6/5): It's ok for the price - Very basic, but it's ok for the price.
Clean room, clean bathroom, the towel was a little worn out. 3 minutes walk from Termini station/metro/buses.
The "breakfast" was a cup of coffee (I did not drink it) and a piece of croissant (not freshly made, but the one you can buy in shops)
- fatima (6/5): Nice view from 6th floor - It's near termini station 3min walk but the hotel addresse was wrong on Expedia I walked again 10min then breakfast was not enough
- Eddie (4/5): Poor hotel room. - Very poor facility. The room and bath were very small and uncomfortable with an old TV.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Cash only, dirty towels, & no staff. 100% lies. - This is not a hotel, it's a room inside an apartment. We had to arrange a time to meet the owner at the building, where he required full cash payment.
It's the first time on Hotels.com that I have ever had to pay in cash. It wiped out my entire emergency cash fund to pay for the room.
Details on Hotels.com are incorrect. I was told that this place offered a 24-hour front desk. We didn't see a single person for any of the three days after paying. The "full breakfast" was “no breakfast". Upon checkin, the owner said that it is only an Italian-style breakfast of 1 croissant and 1 coffee, which he actually never brought to us throughout our stay.
The towels were dirty. We couldn't get in touch with the owner, so placed them on the floor in the morning to get fresh ones. Someone came in our room that day and hung the towels back up on the hooks (still dirty). My Lion King sheet bed wasn’t made, and the place stunk.
When the circuit breaker flipped in the evening, there was nobody there to turn it back on...fortunately the breaker box was unlocked.
This was an awful experience and it's the worst place I have ever stayed. I expected the street noise to be loud since it was near the train station, but it is NOISY.
The Hotel License hanging in the entryway is also expired. I think the owner pocketed the 40 Euros extra we had to pay.
I should have walked away from this place upon arrival.
- yana (4/5): Location - The hotel is above the bar, so you can hear the music and people being loud until 3 am
- Julieta (10/5): Really good choice - Previous reviews had made me worry about this choice but you'll see there's nothing to worry about. The room is near Termini station which people may say it's a bad area. Its not. It's busy but convenient. The room was very spacious, the shower was great, hot water, brand new bathroom and very big, also very comfortable bed. Breakfast is just a coffee and a croissant and there are no common area spaces but this is definitely a hotel I would go back to. I wish I'd been here the rest of the nights in Rome.
- Verified traveler (6/5): If you really are on a budget.. - I was accommodated in a 'kind-of-refurbished' flat managed by Pitagora B&B. They might have more than one, all in different locations. The room rented as a single is not really meant to be a room; in origin it must have been a small storage space of the flat. Inside the room there is space for a single bed, a desk and one chair. No wardrobe. No storage space. The very little window is at 2.5 metres from the floor. There isn't any light coming from it really. All the light in the room is artificial. The bathroom is private but outside the room. You must walk across a common area facing the entrance to other rooms in order to get to the bathroom. In the bathroom the same problem with the window: it's placed 2.5 metres from the floor and cannot be opened, hence problems with moisture and bad smell. Overall good for my needs.
- Verified traveler (4/5): So call a hotel - The only good things are the location and the staffs are friendly and helpful. The facilities of the hotel is bad. I booked a single and surprise to know that the bathroom is outside of my room. Also, I suspect that some one was using my washroom although they claim it is private. Moreover no ventilation in the bathroom. The wifi is poor as well. The connection was always lost. I don't think it can be called as a hotel.
- Sophie (2/5): Worse hotel experience! - The owner smelled horrible and was hostile (not one smile), there was no A/C in the room, the mattress was as hard as rock, the pillows felt like they were made of straw, and the room was very noisy since it is located on the first floor (next to a busy street). The breakfast consisted of cold coffee/oily tea, and a wrapped cheap croissant. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!! They asked us to pay 3 days in advance- had we known, much better quality hotels were available at almost the same price in the same area! The only good thing about this place was the owner's wife, who was nice to us.
- Don (4/5): Good location and price but lots left to be desired. - This hotel had a decent price and was located next to the train station, but the service was wanting. When we arrived, the attendant questioned whether or not the Expedia fare was actually accurate, or if it was for just one night, even though the reservation was clear. Next, the hotel is not the same address listed with Expedia, although it is in the same neighbourhood. They do not accept credit cards, so I had to go and get cash for the room. While the attendant was bringing us to the other location he was moving so fast he lost us in the train station (no real awareness our luggage would slow us down). The room was big for Rome, but without shampoo or TV in any other language (although we were in Italy so this is to be expected). There was no front desk, but we had a key. This meant no wake up calls. Breakfast was a pastry filled with chocolate as well as coffee, nothing more. You get what you pay for, and I was happy with the price.
