Guest Reviews

- Federica (8/5): - Liz was super available and really kind. The room is very nice and comfortable and it is in a good position from the city center and it is near to a bus station. Nothing to say
- Francesca (8/5): -
- Lukas (8/5): Very good - Excellent location for Croke Park and short and cheap bus rides to city centre. Also the location is on the main bus route to the airport. All very convenient.
My room was very comfortable with good bathroom and tea/coffee facilities. Exceptionally friendly host.
Thoroughly recommend. Weather!
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -

- Roberto (8/5): Felt like being at home :) - Very lovely and helpfull hostess she gave us a lot of tips for our first visit in Dublin, quiet place, warm water in the shower and comfortable beds Rooms and bathroom were a little small, but we did have two beds in our room
- Joseph (10/5): Absolutely fantastic and would gladly stay here again - The bed was extremely comfortable, Liz was exceptionally kind and answered all our questions and gave great recommendations for things to do in Dublin City and the facilities were great!
- Barbora (8/5): Very good - The accommodation was exactly according to the pictures. Liz was very friendly and flexible with check in/out.
- Anna (10/5): Perfect! - Very warm, lovely and comfortable house. Good location. Very nice and helpful owner.
- Sophie (8/5): very good weekend good value for facilities. - Host was very helpfull she recomended a good pub to eat in . The bedroom was comfortable. The bathroom was on the small side but everything worked well. The room was clean and tidy.
- Tuomo (9/5): More than happy. - The location was excellent and easy to reach with a bus from the airport. Plenty of good restaurants nearby within a walking distance and also got good recommendations from the staff. The service in general was excellent, I had to check-in late and that was handled great as were all the other things. Nothing to complain. The building is not new so if sounds from the staircase / other rooms bother you a lot, take earplugs with you or something. However, I didn't mind this at all.
- Georgina (10/5): Exceptional - Very cute and cosy cottage. I loved all the decor. Great location, facilities, and friendly hosts. Loved it and would definitely stay again.
- Richard (9/5): Very nice! - Friendly host that received us and showed us our room. The rooms are good and clean. Every day the beds are made and we got clean towels. Nothing
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -

- Paul (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bondy (10/5): Exceptional - Liz was very accommodating and super kind. This place has loads of character and a very comfortable bed.
- Valdis (8/5): - Fine and fit for purpose. Bit expensive, but maybe that was the weekend we hit Dublin, too much demand.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice visit. The proprietor couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, the room was large (by Euro B&B standards) and clean, the bed was comfy, and the location--while not right in the thick of things--was reasonably convenient.
- Christopher (8/5): Great Value - Very helpful and friendly staff, would stay again
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cute Neighbourhood Accommodation - I stayed at Acara House for 3 nights. The hostess Elizabeth and her mum Helen were very accommodating. The room was small but with a comfortable bed and TV. It was a really good choice for a cheap stay. The breakfast facilities were adequate for those with non dietary requirements. Overall pleasant place to stay, only down side was the room wasn't as clean as I would have liked.
- Beau (10/5): Great stay in Dublin! - Wonderful stay, location, and value! Liz was very hospitable and helpful.
- Roxy (10/5): Amazing time - Our friends stayed in temple and didn't sleep well because of the noise. Acara house is 20 mins walk and in such a quiet area! The landlady is lovely and gave us a room as soon as we arrived.
- mature couple (6/5): Well positioned - A budget B and B with reasonable but basic facilities. We found the area very handy and Elizabeth most accommodating. The room was small and the ensuite requires dexterity.
- Sonya (8/5): Perfect for those who don't mind walking - My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights. We loved the coziness and comfort. We don't mind walking or getting to other parts of Dublin using the bus/rail system, so we were set. However, if you'd rather be closer to the downtown area and/or hate to walk or use PT - I suggest you stay closer to Connolly or Tara Street rail stations. Elizabeth was a wonderful hostess and didn't mind helping us out when we needed to. She also gave us our freedom of going out and coming back when we wanted to. Breakfast is 6 Euros (but definitely worth it to have a home-cooked meal). Overall - a pretty solid spot :-)
- Maureen (8/5): Lovely Little Cottage - Lovely little place and Liz was incredibly helpful and kind. Clean room and On-Suite bathroom (tiny but cute). Slept well in the Queen-sized bed. Couple of blocks to walk from the transit point, but never difficult.
- Kate (10/5): Loved It! - This was a great stay! The room was really comfortable and Eliza couldn't have been nicer. It's about two blocks off a main bus line that runs from downtown to the airport, which was perfect for me. The bed was really comfy and I really enjoyed my stay.
- Paul (8/5): Excellent Hospitality - Comfortable B&B with excellent hospitality by Elizabeth. Made our stay special.
- Mak (10/5): Great deal and very welcoming hostess - Just feel like home! Nice breakfast and really friendly and helpful hostess. Good value for money! Can walk to O'conell street in 10-15 mins
- Michael (10/5): Excellent - Our stay was excellent. The bathroom is a bit tight and small, but the bed was comfortable and the room was entirely to our liking. This is best for those seeking a simple stay, not for those looking for luxury. I would describe it in the whole as comfortable and relaxing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): OUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME IN IRELAND - Our stay at the Acara House was absolutely wonderful! From the minute my daughter and I got there until we left, Elizabeth was both warm and friendly and always willing and anxious to make us feel comfortable. The room was was very neat, clean and cozy and was tidy upon all of our returns. Elizabeth was always available to help or give advice and even went out our her to way to help us with our parking. I recommend this B&B to anyone who wants a wonderful stay in a convenient location and a very gracious host. She serves up a wonderful breakfast on request or has plenty of fresh fruit, cereals, bread, juice, coffee and jams or jelllies. Thank you Elizabeth for making our stay a memorable one!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We enjoyed the area and athe fact that we were close to the airport. A quiet location
- John and Anne (8/5): Well priced, comfortable, and friendly - The Acara House is a comfortable, well priced B&B just outside Dublin's city center, in the Drumcondra section. Very easy to get there by Air Coach bus from the airport, and about a 20 minute walk to the Temple Bar and Trinity College sections. Drumcondra itself is a working class neighborhood, with a lot of local color, but a bit lacking in places to eat, cafes, and other amenities when you don't yet know your way around. The Acara House proprietor, Elizabeth, is fantastic. She went out of her way to stay in touch with us by e-mail before we arrived, and opened the doors very early so we could get settled after our overnight flight from Boston, rest a bit, and really enjoy our first full day in Dublin. We had to leave before breakfast the next morning to catch a train to Galway, so are unable to comment on breakfast, but the dining room itself looked very inviting. The bed was large and very comfortable, especially after a night wedged into economy seats on the airplane. We would recommend the Acara House very highly.
- Olimpia (8/5): A very nice b&b and lovely owners - I did enjoy staying. I had a tiny room but it was enough for me cos i stayed for only one night. I did like decor, facilities were good and i had a nice breakfast. There was only one thing...drawers in the cabinet weren't really clean, but the bathroom was and that was more important for me. Overall i would like to come back there.
- Johnny (8/5): Nice area and close to city centre - Very enjoyable close to city centre yet very quiet HOP ON HOP OFF bus tour well worth going on.Liz was very helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great breakfast, but a ways away - This was the nicest and cleanest B&B I stayed in whilst in Dublin. Room was big and clean, nice tea service en suite. It is a GOOD 25-30 minute walk (at a clip) from city centre, and there is no clear or easy way to get there. There are bus stops close by, but these are poorly labeled. Also, surrounding area is quiet yet sparse. The Mapels Hotel across the way has a restaurant and full bar, but that is it. I recommend the lodging for price, cleanliness, and the great breakfast... Just bear in mind that it is not close. With that said, the lodgings in Dublin proper are no great bargain and arent all that nice.
- jooly1 (8/5): Very comfortable - Very comfortable B&B, welcoming hosts and delicious breakfast. Only let down was the tiny en-suite bathroom but would definitely stay here again.
